We enjoyed a beautiful view from the Room.
This summer, I wanted to relax in an Onsen for at least a day, so I stayed at this Accommodation located a little over an hour by train from Nagoya. Perhaps because it sits on slightly higher ground, the mornings and evenings were cooler than in central Nagoya, and I could also enjoy a beautiful night view—making for a wonderful stay. If I had brought insect repellent spray and binoculars, I think I could have relaxed even more on the balcony while enjoying the night view during the evening-to-night hours when mosquitoes are around. Next time I visit in summer, I’ll be sure to bring them. I was also very happy to be able to enjoy alcohol—white wine in my Room and a tasting of local sake with dinner. By the way, there was a slight smell when I first entered the Room (I couldn’t tell what it was), but once I started using the air purifier it didn’t bother me, so it wasn’t an issue. The Room had drinks such as coffee, sencha green tea, and herbal tea, and there was even incense prepared in the alcove—I truly had a great time.

Is there anything else?
Because it’s hard for me to take a truly relaxing stay, I was looking on IKYU for day-use or night-use Accommodation and made my first Reservation here. This time, I chose a Plan with dinner in a Room with an open-air bath. First, after being shown to the Room, I expected the attendant to prepare tea, but at this Accommodation it seems you need to boil the water and make it yourself. Usually there are some sweets provided as well—often with the idea that you can purchase them as souvenirs on your way out—but there were no snacks at all. In hindsight, I should have stopped by a convenience store on the way. Also, while drinks in the refrigerator are of course charged, pricing water at 400 yen felt quite steep. As for the open-air bath: I think the Onsen water quality is good, but I found it lacking in terms of cleanliness and thoughtful touches that would help guests enjoy the view. There was a lantern installed beside the bath, but it wasn’t lit even after dark. Still unclothed, I had to search around for a switch to turn it on. If it turned on automatically once it got dark, for example, I think I could have enjoyed the bath more. The food was neither particularly good nor bad. I enjoyed items such as sashimi, Hida beef shabu-shabu, and salt-grilled ayu sweetfish. However, the mixed rice tasted a bit bland, and the miso soup with yuba was very disappointing as the final soup course of the meal. If each group were served rice cooked in an earthenware pot and then portioned out from there, satisfaction would likely be higher. Overall, it felt very expensive for what was offered, and I found it hard to understand what this Accommodation is meant for or what its main appeal is. Whether in service or Facility offerings overall—I'd like to see more improvements from a guest’s perspective so that this becomes an Accommodation where you can truly feel their desire for guests to enjoy their stay.

A Mysterious Place
I stayed in Room 105 on the first floor, “Kazahana.” Even though it’s on the first floor, because the Accommodation is high up in the mountains, it felt like we were higher up, and the view was distant and almost dreamlike. The open-air bath in the Room was a little hot… it might be better slightly cooler. The meals included lots of vegetables and generous portions, so we were very full. A late-night snack was also served, but I thought it might be better to offer it only to those who want it. We were able to relax and take our time. If we have the chance again, we would love to return.

Thank you for your support.
The Room, Onsen, and meals were all wonderful. The view from the open-air bath in the Room was especially unforgettable. The small rice balls prepared as a late-night snack and the cold water in the Room also reminded me of Japanese hospitality for the first time in a while. I have visited many Onsen Ryokan, but I was able to relax and enjoy a quiet stay here. Thank you to all the staff. I would love to visit again.

The cleanliness of t...
The cleanliness of the large public bath was extremely disappointing. In the indoor bath, there was a lot of debris floating in the tub, such as insects and leaves, and I also found a large spider web. It made me question whether cleaning and inspections were being carried out properly. I contacted the front desk to request assistance, but the staff member only quickly removed some insects from the open-air bath and left without checking the condition of the indoor bath. I originally wanted to use the indoor bath, but after seeing how dirty it was, I did not feel comfortable getting in. In fact, I felt it was better that I did not use it. Seeing how poorly managed the public bath appeared also made me concerned about housekeeping in the guest room. Given that it was not an inexpensive Accommodation Fee, this stay was very disappointing in terms of cleanliness.

Scenic Accommodation
I’ve stayed at this Accommodation several times in different seasons. This time, I made a Reservation well in advance to catch the cherry blossom season, so it was a bit of a gamble, but I’m glad it lined up with near full bloom. The biggest highlight here is definitely the scenery—I never get tired of it. Being able to soak in the Onsen while enjoying that incredible view makes it perfect. The service, which left me somewhat dissatisfied last time, was completely fine this time and I had a very comfortable stay. That said, no matter what season I visit, dinner doesn’t change much and the sautéed scallops are always included. They’re delicious, but having them every time feels less special, so I’d be happy if the menu could be adjusted slightly for repeat guests. I’ll be back again. Thank you very much for taking such good care of me.

I also went to see the waterfall.
It was in a spot that made me think, “So it’s here!” The food was well-seasoned. I’ll be back.

We had a very relaxing stay.
The cuisine, Onsen, service, Room—above all, the concept behind the Accommodation—were wonderful, and we were very satisfied. My companion has a disability, and the staff thoughtfully adjusted the timing and serving style of the meals. There were eight steps to the dining area, but a staff member accompanied us and helped with moving around. Flowers were arranged throughout the building, and the furnishings were lovely—like an art museum. It was drizzling that day, but the misty view of the Nobi Plain from our Room and the cherry blossoms by the entrance felt truly refreshing. Everything was great, but there was just one disappointing point: the bath layout. The open-air Onsen is by the window, while the indoor bath with washing area and shower is on the opposite side of the Room near the entrance. After washing at the sink area and then heading to soak in the open-air Onsen, you have to cross through your Room while naked and wet, which made movement inconvenient. That said, we only washed at that area once at first; from our second soak onward we went straight to use only for open-air Onsen so it wasn’t much of an issue. We would love to visit again. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

On our way to the Accommodation at first, we wondered if we could really arrive via such a road, but as soon as we got there, the staff came out to welcome us and it made us feel very warm. The atmosphere of the Accommodation and the Room were both wonderful. The meals were also delicious, with plenty of local ingredients and foods we don’t usually get to eat. It was truly a very good Accommodation. If we have another opportunity, our whole family would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

Wonderful
This Accommodation is located very close to Yoro Falls, surrounded by nature, and incredibly relaxing—I have stayed here several times. The meals are wonderful, and the Onsen is perfect for unwinding; it truly feels like a hidden retreat, and I really love it. When I’m tired, I’d like to come again to recharge. Thank you very much.

It was Chun-Li’s Room.
I have stayed here several times. This time, the Room had a ceramic open-air bath, which felt just right for one woman. The balcony and the glass walls were also clean, so I enjoyed the view throughout and was very satisfied. Previously, I was disappointed because the beef at dinner looked like scraps, but this time that was not the case—the chicken, pork, and beef were all properly prepared, truly delicious, and impressive. Compared to dinner, breakfast was less impressive than before; some dishes tasted overly seasoned, and again there were items with a home-style feel such as simmered Chinese cabbage with canned tuna, which was disappointing. (Is breakfast handled by a different person?) Even though I stayed when it was discounted, considering the price range—especially compared with places like Kyoto—I do notice various aspects of the service. I am not asking for much, but if you could at least keep the view from the open-air-bath guest rooms (glass cleaning and pruning) and the quality of both dinner and breakfast consistently high at all times, I believe this is a wonderful Accommodation that I would like to use regularly. Thank you again for a relaxing stay.

I was deeply moved.
During my visit in September, I didn't notice it, but during a previous visit, I had pointed out a tear in the yukata's seam. This time, when folding the yukata, I noticed it had been properly reinforced. Impressive attention to detail! I love the meals, Onsen, and staff. Looking forward to visiting again next year! Thank you!

Accommodation you'll want to visit again
The Onsen, room, and cuisine were exactly as expected, and we were extremely satisfied with every aspect, including the staff's hospitality. The accommodation is located on a hilltop, and the road leading to it is steep and narrow in some parts, requiring vehicles to yield to oncoming traffic. However, the view from the accommodation is breathtaking. The night view of Nōbi Plain from the room, large public bath with open-air bath, and private open-air bath in the room is stunning. If I may suggest one improvement, having samue (traditional Japanese loungewear) available in the room would have been even better.

It might have been a bit early for the autumn leaves.
I visited Yoro Falls to enjoy the autumn leaves. The journey to the accommodation included some narrow mountain roads where cars could barely pass, which was a bit nerve-wracking. However, the destination was absolutely wonderful. The accommodation is just a 2-minute walk from the falls, allowing for a refreshing experience surrounded by negative ions. Being located at the mountain's summit, the view was truly spectacular. The meals were thoughtfully prepared and delicious, providing a heartwarming experience. Although the dining area was somewhat small, it offered a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Unfortunately, due to prolonged summers recently, it's been harder to see beautiful autumn foliage—climate change is indeed concerning.

Accommodation with the Best View
A quiet accommodation located on the mountainside, close to Yoro Falls. The view from the accommodation is breathtaking, offering different stunning sceneries in the morning, afternoon, and evening. One of the highlights of this accommodation is not only its views but also its impeccable cleanliness. There was no dust even in hidden spots like behind the TV, window frames, or under the bed. This level of cleanliness is rare even in other high-end ryokans or hotels. The room's open-air bath is spacious enough for two people to relax comfortably. Although the water temperature felt slightly lukewarm, it was perfect for a long soak. As for meals, both breakfast and dinner were elaborate with excellent taste, volume, and variety. The simmered dishes and dressed salads were particularly delicious. Now for some concerns: The staff's service and attentiveness do not match this class of accommodation at all—it felt like everyone might be part-time workers. Upon arrival at the accommodation, there was no one to greet us initially; when someone finally appeared after a while, they didn’t even say "Thank you for waiting." While filling out registration forms at check-in, a staff member stood silently behind us without saying anything—this made us feel rushed and uncomfortable. At the dining area where we were guided to a private room initially left unattended—we weren’t sure if we could start eating as appetizers had already been set up on our table but there wasn’t anyone around nearby either when trying ordering drinks which led calling front desk eventually getting assistance instead! Staff mentioned being new themselves during interaction leaving impression unprofessionalism overall experience disappointing especially considering price paid here! Additionally narrow roads leading towards property challenging navigate larger vehicles caution advised beforehand better communication expected proactive measures taken avoid inconvenience guests altogether! While facilities Onsen meals exceeded expectations lack hospitality professionalism evident throughout stay ultimately detracted overall satisfaction unlikely return future visits

The view is beautiful.
I had the opportunity to visit Gifu for work and stayed at a nice Onsen accommodation for two nights. I rented a car from Gifu-Hashima Station, but the narrow, winding mountain road about 3km before reaching the accommodation was quite thrilling. While it might be manageable for locals familiar with the area, I was nervous about encountering oncoming traffic while driving. It would definitely be challenging during snowy or icy conditions. The room with an open-air bath was fantastic. It offered privacy and a great view, providing a truly relaxing atmosphere. The public bath was of a decent size, but I think more frequent cleaning of the changing area would make it even more pleasant. Since I stayed for two nights, they seemed to have made an effort to vary the breakfast and dinner menus so they wouldn’t overlap. However, on the second morning’s breakfast, there were many types of preserved dishes served—more than necessary in my opinion—and I wish they had asked beforehand to avoid waste. Yoro Falls is a lovely spot for a walk. Next time, I’d like to visit primarily for sightseeing purposes. Thank you very much for your hospitality!

The Chateaubriand was excellent.
The staff always warmly welcomes us, making our stay relaxing no matter when we visit. Although we couldn't fully enjoy the view of the Nōbi Plain this time due to the rain, we had an exceptional dinner featuring delicious shabu-shabu kaiseki and Chateaubriand. We've visited many times, and the meals have always been satisfying. The open-air bath was also a delight; even with the rain, we enjoyed it in a private and peaceful setting. We look forward to visiting again in December. Thank you for your hospitality!

Satisfied with the accommodation
Stunning view from the room! The facility was quiet and very relaxing. The sunrise from the room was also amazing, and I enjoyed a luxurious time soaking in the open-air bath. However, I was disappointed with the "Basic Hida Beef Steak Kaiseki" reservation as it was quite different from the web images. You cannot choose your preferred doneness for the steak, and despite being called kaiseki, there was only one meat dish! Additionally, there were some questions about alcohol pricing: Chita Glass ¥1,200 / Highball ¥1,500 / Bottle ¥19,800 compared to Peak Whisky Special Glass ¥1,200 / Highball ¥1,650 / Bottle ¥8,000—why is only the highball more expensive? It was a bit disappointing.

I stayed alone this ...
I stayed alone this time to enjoy a relaxing break from daily life. With a private open-air bath and in-room dining, I was able to unwind without worrying about others and spend a peaceful night. Although it was unfortunately rainy, I managed to use the open-air bath during light rain as there was no specific rain cover. (The next morning, when I went to the public bath, there were many leaves and insects floating both inside and outside the bath, making it difficult to clean even with the provided net, so I had to give up.) The meals were perfectly seasoned for my taste—not too strong—and I deeply appreciated their willingness to accommodate my allergies. Each dish was carefully prepared and visually appealing, making for an enjoyable dining experience. The hospitality struck a perfect balance between formal and friendly; from tea service and colorful yukata options to late-night snacks, every detail reflected thoughtful care—one of the reasons why I chose this place again. Even the rain and thunder became part of the scenery that added charm to my stay. The clear skies on the following morning were stunningly beautiful, and thanks to heavy rainfall from the previous day, Yoro Falls appeared more powerful than usual—a truly impressive sight. I am sincerely grateful for being warmly welcomed by Okami-san upon arrival as well as her kind send-off at departure. My heartfelt thanks also go out to all staff members including Nakai-san and those in charge of meal preparation for making this such a wonderful experience!

The meals are exceptional!
Both dinner and breakfast were satisfying!! The only disappointment was that after check-in, while taking a break in the lounge, there was no service to guide us to the room or carry our luggage, which is usually expected at luxury accommodations.

I was very satisfied.
We stayed in Room 203, "Yuzuki," which features a private open-air bath. The view from the room was absolutely stunning, and the scenery from the private open-air bath was equally breathtaking. The location was excellent, as it only took a few minutes to visit Yoro Falls. The filet steak served at dinner was tender and delicious. The hospitality provided by the staff was impeccable. Even when we accidentally ruined some drinks in the refrigerator, they kindly handled it for us, which left us deeply impressed. Overall, this accommodation offered an exceptional experience that made us feel truly special.

We stayed at the accommodation for our 30th wedding anniversary trip. We were deeply moved by the warm hospitality of everyone at the ryokan. The view from the panoramic bath was truly spectacular, providing relaxation for both body and mind. Especially, the scenery seen through the window during sunrise became an unforgettable memory. Thank you so much for a truly memorable experience.

Highly Satisfied
Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed, and the luggage we entrusted was already delivered to the room by the time we were guided there. The check-in process was smooth and thoughtful, allowing us to sit down and enjoy matcha tea and traditional sweets while completing it. Since the hotel is built on a mountainside, elevators were available; however, accessing the room I reserved required using stairs. This proved to be a bit of a burden for my elderly mother. For those with mobility issues, I recommend confirming whether there are rooms accessible without stairs or with minimal stair use. The meals were relatively light in flavor, offered in abundant variety, visually delightful, and absolutely delicious. After dinner, when we returned to our room, everything was perfectly prepared—futons laid out for sleeping and even night snacks along with water and glasses placed by the bedside. Flowers adorned various spots throughout the accommodation, cleanliness was impeccable everywhere. We were thoroughly satisfied beyond expectations. My mother also enjoyed her stay immensely; it felt rewarding as an act of filial piety. Yoro Falls was very close to this accommodation—within walking distance even for my elderly mother if she made an effort. This has become one of those accommodations I would love to visit again!

It was paradise.
The hot spring water was smooth and refreshing. The room felt 40% more spacious than it appeared in the photos. The view and interior variations made the stay enjoyable without feeling monotonous. - The hand-hewn wooden flooring was pleasant to walk on, giving a nostalgic and delightful atmosphere. - The tatami area was surprisingly spacious, and the internet TV setup was convenient. Although I usually don't watch TV while traveling, I ended up watching "Bullet Train Explosion," which I had wanted to see. This accommodation shows thoughtful attention to detail throughout: - Enjoyable late-night snacks. - Plenty of beverages provided. - A selection of colorful yukata robes available for guests to choose from, with an extra sash thoughtfully placed in the room—a nice touch! The sleeping yukata sash was one of the easiest to tie among all accommodations I've stayed at, making it very comfortable for sleeping. However, I missed having a full-length mirror; since the bathroom mirror was positioned high, it wasn't possible to check my sash or hem properly. A full-length mirror near the entrance would be appreciated. For dinner, we chose the Hida Beef Shabu-shabu Kaiseki Plan and were satisfied with both meat and fish dishes included in it. Breakfast exceeded expectations with its variety and luxurious presentation—the mini yudofu broth was particularly delicious. There were two bath towels per person provided—more than enough—but if I'm being greedy, a bathrobe would have been nice as well. It was such an enjoyable accommodation that I couldn't help but write so much about it! Looking forward to visiting again—thank you!

A retreat filled with nature and cuisine, just within an hour from Nagoya.
We booked a room last minute for my mother-in-law in her early 90s and two couples, her daughters and their husbands. Considering her declining health with back pain and reduced appetite, we planned this short trip as it might be her last journey. We chose this ryokan with rooms featuring open-air baths nearby Nagoya to avoid long travel distances that could tire her out. The lobby is on the third floor, while the guest rooms are on the first floor. Unfortunately, there was no elevator access to the first floor, so we had to use stairs between the second and first floors. Given its complex structure on a steep cliffside, it seems understandable but slightly inconvenient for elderly guests. However, with a wheelchair and cane, she managed to navigate the stairs. The accommodation has a traditional Japanese design with tatami hallways that were comfortable. The staff provided attentive care throughout our stay. Despite feeling unwell initially, my mother-in-law managed to walk about 15 minutes to Yoro Falls with some effort. She ate more than usual during this trip but experienced unexpected diarrhea afterward; however, thanks to thoughtful assistance from staff regarding restroom care each time, she recovered quickly by evening after enjoying delicious meals during our stay. Although we expected her to use the private open-air bath attached to our room comfortably due its size limitations (too small) plus lack of soap/shampoo availability meant opting instead toward enjoying larger communal baths instead better suited younger visitors seeking nature immersion rather than elderly-friendly options specifically designed accordingly accommodating needs seniors alike overall experience still positive memorable nonetheless! In morning everyone took turns admiring mist-covered Nobi Plain views together before breakfast served featuring delicate flavors emphasizing natural ingredients beautifully presented dishes leaving lasting impression satisfaction shared among family members alike!

Customer service needs improvement.
I revisited this accommodation because I had a great impression from my previous stay. The most remarkable feature is the view, which alone makes it worth visiting. Soaking in the open-air bath while watching the ever-changing scenery was the ultimate luxury. However, this time, I was very disappointed with the service provided by the staff member who handled our dinner. I understand they were probably busy managing multiple groups, but their rushed attitude made us feel uncomfortable throughout. For instance, when they came to escort us to dinner from our room, they didn’t wait for us to lock the door (as it wasn’t auto-lock), and we had to run after them. Upon arriving at the dining area and sitting down, we were immediately asked for drink orders—faster than even at an izakaya! The way dishes were served was also careless; plates were placed with loud noises that disrupted what should have been a relaxing meal despite how delicious it was. On a positive note, other staff members during breakfast and elsewhere provided excellent service without any issues. It’s unfortunate that one person’s behavior could significantly impact an otherwise wonderful experience. Overall satisfaction remains high aside from this point, and I hope improvements will be made by my next visit. Thank you for your hospitality!

Open-air bath?
The temperature of the open-air bath in the Room was too low, making it impossible to enjoy just the hot water. I book Rooms through IKYU.com about twice a month, but this was my first experience like this.

Is the cost-performance worth it for the price? I wouldn't stay at this price for a Room without an open-air bath.
