  It was a bit disappointing.

  The front desk service was not very friendly, and upon arrival, I thought, "Is this really Prince Hotel?" The Room and bathroom were too small; I don't remember them being this cramped before... quite disappointing. However, the ski slopes were absolutely satisfying. The meals were delicious, and my son said he wants to come back again.

  For those who want to fully enjoy skiing

  Recommended for guests who want to fully enjoy skiing. The paid First Track option before regular operating hours is well worth it. You can also take a bath after check-out, and there are four washing machines available free of charge, which is very helpful for longer stays. The Room is small, but if you think of it as a ski training camp, it’s comfortable.

  奥志賀高原に魅了されたスキーヤー

  Disappointing

  I used this Hotel for skiing. After check-in, I found the ski locker still had belongings from the previous guest. While they promptly removed them upon my request, it would be better if such things were checked in advance to ensure a pleasant experience. The Room was smaller and older compared to a Business Hotel near Shinshu-Nakano Station, and unfortunately, it felt dirty. The chair in front of the vanity had noticeable stains that seemed like spills, and overall, the furniture appeared discolored. Considering this Hotel charges three times more than the mentioned Business Hotel, I expected better quality—this was my honest impression. It would have been nice if there were better facilities for changing clothes after skiing; however, from the front desk to the ski locker area, everything felt disorganized. Perhaps other buildings are cleaner? I tried miso ramen at a separate building's ramen corner but found it disappointing—it tasted like something one could easily make better at home these days. Not recommended.

  First Ski Day of the 2024/25 Season

  With ski resorts opening earlier this year, we decided on short notice to visit Shiga Kogen for the first time. Even though it was December, temperatures dropped below -10°C at night and stayed below freezing during the day—a true midwinter day. Yakebitaiyama Ski Resort had excellent snow quality and slope conditions that our beginner family could enjoy with peace of mind. The Prince Hotel South Wing is directly connected to the slopes, so we could enjoy a delicious breakfast while checking the grooming and lift area conditions, then head straight to the gondola and focus on skiing—very convenient. While the Hotel itself shows its age in terms of facilities, the staff’s hospitality provides that reassuring Prince-style comfort. For anyone who wants to focus on skiing, I think the South Wing is a wonderful Accommodation.
