Better than expected
The facilities are outdated, and the attractions feel stale, which was disappointing.

Onsen Lover
When I thought of Naeba Prince Hotel, I associated it with Fuji Rock and Yuming’s concerts, but the Onsen water quality was exceptionally good. It has a different type of spring water than Yuzawa, and although it was far from our Room, I went in many times. It’s worth visiting just for this Onsen alone. The staff were all friendly, and even at checkout the front desk staff chatted with us about various things—it was fun and convincing! My friend and I said, “As expected from a Prince Hotel.” This is a Hotel I definitely want to visit again. Thank you for taking care of us.

Aging facility
The property is undeniably showing its age.

At this price,
As a floor member, the benefits are: Priority check-in Parking is very close by The lounge offers a panoramic view of the ski slopes Downsides: Understandable, but all Facility are quite outdated. The bath is also small. Considering it costs nearly JPY 200,000, the service is somewhat underwhelming.

I’m at a loss for words.
I used to stay at Naeba Prince often when I was younger, but the recent decline is so severe it’s hard to watch. I came back for the first time in two years because of Yuming’s concert, but what was that shabu-shabu dinner set? Even today’s family restaurants and chain places are about 100 times better. Charging 6,000 yen for that quality is beyond belief. As a former top-tier Hotel, I want you to maintain some pride. (Even if it’s aimed at foreign guests, it’s still terrible.) If I go to Yuming’s concert again in the coming years, the right move is to buy a high-end bento around Tokyo Station (for 3,000 yen you can easily get something of much better quality) and eat it in the Room with wine or sake. I did ski as well, but if there weren’t a Yuming concert, I would never go back to Naeba Prince again. It used to be an Accommodation I admired—truly “poverty dulls the mind.” Mizuho and Keikyu, please do something about this.

I attended Yumi Matsutoya’s live concert.
I attended Yumi Matsutoya’s concert. As this is an annual event, I have been staying with you for decades. If I may share a few concerns about recent years: 1. It is extremely difficult to make a Reservation for concert dates. 2. Prices surge only on concert dates (concert tickets must be purchased separately). 3. By the time of check-in, the shuttle bus to Echigo-Yuzawa the next morning is already fully booked. I sincerely ask for improvements.

Meals...
Stayed on the Club Floor Despite having a dedicated check-in lane for the Club Floor, we were made to line up with everyone else, which was slightly disappointing. That said, the staff were generally pleasant and approachable. The moment we stepped off the elevator onto the Club Floor, we were greeted by a soothing aroma that was very relaxing. The room had a stunning view of the slopes. I initially thought the hammock was unnecessary but ended up loving it and using it often. During our stay, about 90% of guests seemed to be international visitors. The meals catered more towards inbound tourists and were too spicy for my taste. We visited an oden izakaya despite being put off by the broth smell lingering outside (my companion felt similarly). Thinking "how bad could oden be?" we decided to give it a try anyway. While staff members were friendly, hygiene standards left much to be desired—one staff member used their fingers to remove empty glasses from foreign guests' tables and then handled toppings like chopped green onions and seaweed directly from containers without washing their hands in between tasks or after taking orders with a pen in hand. I couldn’t help but watch closely out of concern—did they wash their hands at all? Additionally, conversations among staff took place over dishes placed on counters without masks on; they leaned close enough that their faces hovered over both food items and order slips while discussing table assignments like “Did this go out yet?” It completely ruined my appetite, leading us to leave abruptly. It would have been better if such actions occurred out of sight... The friendliness of staff only made these lapses more disappointing. Breakfast buffet also fell short for us—it was disheartening given our hopes that rice would at least shine in this renowned rice-producing region. For dinner on another day (Chinese cuisine), I found myself unable to finish overly soy-sauced stir-fried pork with vegetables (hoisin-style)—it was just too much. On our second morning’s breakfast attempt opting instead for Japanese set meals: grilled salmon turned out not as expected—it seemed more like salmon fillet rather than traditional cuts—but hunger helped me get through alongside rice/miso soup/seaweed combo! Cafés & pizza offerings felt acceptable considering they’re slope-side dining options after all... On brighter notes: The Club Lounge experience stood out positively! Having frequented lounges across Okinawa & other five-star hotels several times annually—I’d say this one holds its own quite well comparatively speaking! While lacking hot meals entirely—the variety offered suffices nicely as light snacks; evenings feature cozy fire pits creating wonderful ambiance alongside decent alcohol selections available too! Surprisingly underutilized perhaps due low awareness levels—it feels almost wasteful seeing such potential untapped here… Breakfast within lounge included croissants/pancakes/fruits/yogurt/salads aplenty allowing relaxed enjoyment overlooking scenic slopes leisurely pace overall delightful addition indeed! In summary: Though dining experiences left much wanting—the direct slope access location combined w/ vibrant international crowd creates unique atmosphere worth appreciating depending personal preferences/preferences embracing quirks therein!

Late Check-Out
As a hotel member, I was able to extend check-out until 1:00 PM when booking through the hotel's official website in previous years. However, this time I booked through IKYU and could only extend until 12:00 PM. Even though I offered to pay for an extension, my request was denied. This made for a rushed departure after skiing in the morning. Is there no way to improve this?

A new and refreshing impression.
I have stayed at this accommodation several times during the winter season every year. The meals remain consistent, but lift ticket prices keep increasing. With the removal of night tickets, I now have to purchase a 4-hour ticket, which means it costs around 14,000 yen for a day pass and night skiing combined. It seems like the number of young Japanese guests has been decreasing every year, and this trend might accelerate further. I couldn't understand why the second building was turned into a mysterious facility called "Club Floor" or "Club Lounge" without any upgrades to its facilities. If you want to create a premium feel by raising prices, I wish there had been some renovations done first. The quality of staff also caught my attention. At the ticket counter, an elderly guest—likely someone who visits annually—was asking questions that were partially complaints. However, seeing how a young female staff member responded with a half-smile and dismissive attitude left me feeling uneasy as an observer from outside. While I understand it can be tiresome work, such behavior is unacceptable in customer service roles involving sales interactions—it was quite disappointing to witness that level of service. I imagine that elderly family may not return next year despite being regular visitors in previous years. It saddens me to think about how already scarce Japanese guests might decrease even further in numbers moving forward.

A truly foreign experience
It feels like traveling abroad. The age of the facility has likely been pointed out by many, and most of the guests are from the mainland, which might be a concern for some.

During the busy autumn foliage season
The visit coincided with the peak autumn foliage season, and most guests seemed to be groups visiting for the Naeba Dragondola. The buffet restaurant's usage times were well-distributed, so individual guests experienced no particular stress. One downside was that the outdoor bath was located a bit far away. It brought back nostalgic memories as I used to visit Naeba Ski Resort frequently about 40 years ago. Next time, I’d love to attend Yumi Matsutoya’s "Surf & Snow" concert here.

Buffet
The buffet for both dinner and breakfast was excellent with a great variety. The bath, especially the one with the open-air bath, was enjoyable in the evening. The Shuttle Service was prompt without any waiting time, which was very convenient. Having visited many times in the past for skiing, this trip brought back nostalgic memories as I fully enjoyed the autumn foliage.

Last year, I came to Naeba to ride the Dragondola, but unfortunately, it was suspended due to strong winds. This year, I came back for a second attempt. Since I stayed in Building 2, the open-air bath was quite far. The room felt a bit cramped for three people as there wasn’t much space for luggage or travel bags.

It might have been a bit early for autumn foliage.
We stayed on October 23 to enjoy the autumn leaves at Dragondola. The mountaintop was colorful, but overall it felt about a week early. The room was nice with separate bath and toilet, but it was disappointing to find a few black stink bugs. There were two baths available, and the shuttle service to Hiuchi-no-Yu ran every 10 minutes, which was convenient. However, considering the size of the hotel, the dining area felt a bit small and might be challenging during the winter ski season.

The breakfast is excellent.
When entering the room, the curtains were fully closed, giving a slightly stuffy impression. Better ventilation would have made it feel more comfortable. A few days later, I experienced a slight sore throat, which concerned me, though the direct cause is unclear. I also woke up during the night on occasion. The breakfast was delicious and made good use of local ingredients. Dinner was average; however, considering the price of 5,000 yen, it felt slightly overpriced. The staff were kind and attentive, leaving a positive impression. The Onsen was clean and enjoyable to use but felt somewhat cramped without an open-air bath available. Additionally, having to bring towels back to the room was slightly inconvenient. Overall, while staff service was excellent and there were many comfortable aspects of my stay, improving room preparation—such as opening curtains and airing out before guests arrive—could make for an even more pleasant experience.

Not good...
The switch panel cover in the guest room has fallen off and is dangerous. It was temporarily fixed with duct tape. Refrigerator not cooling properly. No freezer function in the refrigerator. Ice can be purchased at the shop. Water is available from vending machines for 200 yen per 500ml bottle. Cooling packs, similar to those provided free with food purchases, are sold for 100 yen each. Outdated facilities. The public bath tends to be crowded as it is also accessible for a fee by campers, and its size is small relative to the scale of the Hotel.

I would like one more towel, please.
It was a last-minute reservation, but I was able to stay in a room on the 12th floor. Although it was the off-season and there were few guests, which felt a bit lonely, I enjoyed the buffet without having to wait in line and could relax in the bath. The food was delicious, and the staff provided polite service. While bringing the room towel to the bath is fine, there were no towels left for use at the sink... I understand it's part of eco-friendly measures, but I would have appreciated one more towel. Also, it was disappointing that the bottled drinks placed in the refrigerator didn’t get cold enough.

"The nostalgia of Prince and the novelty of SEIBU"
It was my first stay in a while for a live event. The reception staff guided the influx of check-in guests with both courtesy and efficiency, just as impressive as ever. The low bed in the white room now feels nostalgic. While embracing changes like self-check-in machines and free bath access, I hope the unique culture of Prince remains somewhere intact. This is the sentiment of an old fan growing older alongside the hotel.

The skiing and meals were excellent.
Stayed for two nights for skiing. Chose the meal plan with breakfast and dinner, and it was enjoyable to have various restaurant options. The dinner at Azalea was excellent, and the all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu meat was delicious. The facility overall was quite warm, so I spent most of the time in a short-sleeve T-shirt. The room was also hot and made it difficult to sleep comfortably; better temperature control would be appreciated. Lift tickets were discounted for guests, and considering the meal plan, it was very reasonably priced. I’d love to come back next season for skiing!

2 nights and 3 days with a 6-year-old child
We visited Naeba Ski Resort for a last-minute trip this season. Naeba Prince Hotel is extremely expensive! Ski gear and wear for three people, 2 nights and 3 days, cost ¥100,000! Lift tickets for 3 days were ¥20,000! This pricing feels excessive. We chose a meal plan but should have gone with "No Meals Included." The buffet quality was very poor. The onsen was small and overcrowded—truly packed like sardines. If it weren’t connected to the ski resort, this accommodation would score zero points!

Satisfaction
A stay that exceeded expectations. Stayed in Building No. 2, and the room with a hammock was charming, plus the breakfast buffet was excellent. The only downside was the small size of the public bath. (However, since there is an independent bath in the room, it wasn’t an issue.) It would have been helpful to be informed in advance about which building we were staying in to avoid unnecessary back-and-forth trips. That said, the ski lockers were spacious, and there were plenty of dining options available. Perfect for enjoying skiing! The staff members were all pleasant and attentive. Would love to stay again if given another opportunity!

There was no staff to guide the queue at check-in, and I was left waiting outside in the heavy snow for nearly an hour. There was only one staff member in front of the reception, and they didn't provide any guidance. I expected more from Prince Hotel (Purinsu Hoteru) and was disappointed. The building itself is old, so it's understandable, but it was surprising that what seemed like an old banquet hall had been turned into a restaurant. Despite being old, the room was clean. I thought it would be easily accessible from Tokyo but should have gone elsewhere.

Not ideal for a one-day ski trip.
I was disappointed that, despite being a slope-side Hotel, the "ski lockers can only be used from check-in (3 PM) to check-out." There was no such information (e.g., "guests can park from the morning") on the website, and having to call for every little detail was frustrating. When I asked for the exact location of the ski lockers, I was transferred to another staff member who vaguely said, "near the front desk." Even when I asked, "Is it next to the front desk? Or behind it?" they were unsure (it was actually on the slope side behind the front desk). Why not include this on the web facility map? When I actually arrived, I found that there were "guest-only lockers" separate from the ski lockers, which could be used from the morning of the stay until departure. If they had just told me over the phone that "luggage lockers can be used from the morning," I could have prepared better... The building layout was also poor—the parking lot was far away, and the first floor (from the front desk to the slopes) was extremely crowded (Building 4). I can't imagine how chaotic it would be on a weekend. As for dinner, I reluctantly chose the buffet due to my companion's preference, but I was shocked that the only sake available was a two-serving bottle of honjozo (the lowest grade). The food was delicious, but the poor quality of the sake diminished the overall experience. And then there's the public bath (Onsen). The changing room was cramped, there was no place to put belongings in the bath area, and we were told to take our towels back to the Room. Absolutely unacceptable... The only positives were "the pre-arrival web check-in → self-check-in with a QR code on the day, so no waiting" and "being able to reserve dinner times online, avoiding lines." But even Business Hotels offer these services. I've stayed at various slope-side Hotels, but I didn't feel that "staying here makes skiing more convenient." There was no special feeling typical of a Prince Property (perhaps my expectations were too high because my previous stay at Hakone was exceptional). I can understand why winter guests are declining. I won't be returning.

The Good Old Naeba Prince Hotel
A Resort Hotel that fulfills all the desires of skiers, enjoying skiing with plenty of snow from January 3rd for 2 nights and 3 days. A huge slope spreads out in front, allowing you to ski as you please. It was unusually crowded, but in the past, it was very difficult to make a Reservation during this period. There used to be a heated pool, where you could relax after plenty of skiing. Now, you can relax in the open-air Onsen instead. Unfortunately, the Facility cannot be updated, and it is being used while repairing the good old days' Facility. There were many restaurants crowded together for meals, but they were not as delicious as before. However, from the Kanto region, it is a 2 to 3-hour drive, and I hope this convenient and authentic ski Resort Hotel will continue as long as possible.

They won't clean the Room unless you request it. When I first tried to take a bath, there was hair scattered everywhere, and it was unclean.

The interior is too spacious.
I used this Hotel because my elderly parents wanted to ride the Dragondola. The first thing I noticed was that there is quite a distance to get to the guest rooms, the large public bath, and the dining area. There are slopes along the way, and although it's not to the extent of needing a wheelchair, they said it was quite tough. However, for those with strong legs or younger people, it might be good for health and fun like a maze. The staff were very pleasant, and both dinner and breakfast were very delicious.

If there is an opportunity, we look forward to welcoming you again.
As for the bathhouse, it seems that there were many group guests, and although the bathing times overlapped, it was regrettably cramped for a large-scale Hotel.

I went during the off-season.
There were some worn-out areas in the room, but it was spacious and had an open feel due to the view of the slopes. Perhaps because the building itself is old, the footsteps from other rooms were quite audible. The bath was only an indoor bath, and there was a screen outside the window, so there was no view of the outside scenery at all. I assume it was for privacy, but it was disappointing. Possibly because it was the off-season and there were few guests, the bath and changing room were not cleaned throughout the night, and when I went late, the amenities and trash bins were in disarray, and the floor was covered with hair. I was a bit surprised as I am used to going to super sentos where cleaning is done frequently.
