    Dependent on Kumamon

    This is a hotel with a long history, and I stayed here after a long time. Since it was a Kumamon-themed room, I didn’t feel the age of the accommodation, but considering the rather high price, no meals included, and the lack of a luxurious atmosphere, the satisfaction level was low. As there are no restaurants nearby, I believe the hotel’s restaurant should be more well-equipped. The price felt like that of a first-class accommodation, which was a bit disappointing. However, my daughter loves Kumamon, so that was a saving grace.

    City Hotel Connected to the Airport

    ANA Crowne Hotel offers spacious rooms, which is very pleasant. Having stayed at various accommodations, the convenience of an airport bus stopping right in front of the hotel is a significant advantage. However, when dining out, the location feels somewhat inconvenient as you need to go either to Kumamoto Station or downtown. On the other hand, ANA Sapporo has a convenience store in the same building and a café on the first floor, making it highly convenient. Additionally, there’s a souvenir shop by the tourism association on the second floor, giving it a tourist-friendly vibe. This time around, I felt that perhaps bathroom cleaning was not up to par or maybe it's due to older facilities.

    Kumamon Room is the best!

    My daughter loves Kumamon, and she was so excited the moment we entered the Kumamon Room! It became an unforgettable memory. On the morning of checkout, she was so sad to part with Kumamon that she burst into tears (laugh). Both dinner and breakfast had a wide variety of delicious options. The staff were all very kind and attentive. We would love to stay here again. Highly recommended Hotel!

    Affordable and reasonably accessible on foot from the station.

    We stayed in a Twin Room with an extra bed. The room was spacious enough, and the view was decent, overlooking the river. At night, the area felt a bit eerie due to its quietness and limited streetlights. Breakfast was standard but enjoyable, with the option to order omelets. Personally, I would have liked some mustard lotus root as part of the menu. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay.

    A Room Full of Kumamon

    Stay in the Kumamon Room. Surrounded by Kumamon, I couldn't help but feel overjoyed. The hotel staff were very kind, and the food was delicious.

    The Facility is somewhat lacking for a City Hotel, and it is a bit far from the station for a Business Hotel, making it feel somewhat in-between. With rising prices in Kumamoto, the cost-performance may not be ideal.

    It is a challenging level to be called a City Hotel.

    The WIFI connection is poor. It is at the lowest level for a city hotel. The breakfast, as expected, has a low level of Western cuisine. This is also at the lowest level. I stayed at the ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel Kanazawa last year, and it was worse than that time. A while ago, Kyoto and Nagasaki were fairly good. Is the entire chain lowering its standards, or is it based on individual management situations? It's puzzling. Actually, I prefer Japanese cuisine, so it's not much of an issue for me, but my companion, who prefers Western cuisine, said there was nothing to eat. The location is also inconvenient (a bit far from both the station and downtown), requiring a ride on the city tram. (The tram was extremely crowded, and we were left behind at the nearest station.)

    The automated multi-story parking is convenient. It was warm even on cold days.

    There is a self-parking multi-story parking lot on the premises, which is convenient if you have business in Kumamoto by car. Although the area around the Hotel feels a bit quiet at night compared to before, during the day, both trains and buses are relatively easy to use, and JR Kumamoto Station is within walking distance. Recommended if you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of the city center. This time, perhaps due to a campaign, I was able to add breakfast at a discounted price, so I tried it. While I didn't feel a particular dedication to all the dishes, the local specialties and local products were quite delicious. I especially liked the rice, and I was satisfied to have it with delicious spicy cod roe. The bath water, for Kumamoto City, felt a bit hard, but using amenities like body lotion allowed me to stay without worrying about dryness. During my stay, I didn't feel cold and felt secure in the solid building. However, during this stay, there were moments when I was concerned about the thinness of the walls, as I could hear voices from the next room.

    You can feel at ease with our high standard of basic services.

    The rooms, restaurant, and elevator hall have ample space, offering a richness not found in the trendy hotels that only look stylish in pictures, creating a naturally relaxing impression. While not flashy, watching the changing scenery of the river from the large windows provides a truly pleasant time for me. It has become my regular Stays before I knew it.

    This stay resulted in many dissatisfactions, which was disappointing.

    This time, due to work-related reasons, I had to extend my stay and made two separate reservations for one night each. Although I had informed them in advance, at check-in, it seemed the room was prepared for only one night, resulting in a wait. Perhaps because of this, the room key became unusable on the second night, requiring assistance from the front desk, and it was a close call to place my luggage in the room. Furthermore, unfortunately, the bed-making was poor, with about 10 cm of the sheet missing on the lower side, leaving the bed pad exposed. I have stayed at many ANA Hotels, but I have never been this dissatisfied. It was even more disappointing because the rates were set higher than usual. The hotel is quite old in terms of facilities, so with this level of service, it's not worth paying ANA Hotel prices. It might have been an unfortunate coincidence, but for the customer, it's a one-time stay.

As far as I can see from the photos, some rooms seem to have been partially renovated, so I think it is necessary for all rooms as much as possible. If that can be done, it would be the best place to stay.

When the water areas are dirty, I worry whether the cups and other items are properly cleaned, so I couldn't use them. ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel has good cost performance, so I often use it in other areas, but this one was disappointing.
