    It was a wonderful trip.

    Due to a landslide, we were unable to stay at Tsuruyakisshotei, and they quickly arranged our stay at their sister Accommodation, Kissho Karen. We were completely satisfied with everything—the meals, the Room, the baths, and the staff’s service. The portions at both dinner and breakfast were so generous we could hardly finish them, but everything was delicious, and we also enjoyed Izu-style sashimi. This was a trip for my parents’ 70th birthday celebration, and they were very happy with this wonderful Accommodation. Thank you very much. We would also love to visit Tsuruyakisshotei once the renovations are complete.

    Various events are prepared, bringing great joy to the children.

    Dinner and breakfast were very satisfying. If possible, we would appreciate the installation of an elevator, as we were traveling with an elderly person with mobility issues.

    This is not my first stay, and compared to the previous visit, the dinner has improved significantly. The dining service on the terrace is excellent.

    Family Trip

    We stayed here 4 years ago for a family trip and decided to return this time. Last time, Tsuruyayokocho was closed due to the pandemic, but this time we enjoyed various activities such as Onsen table tennis, Tsuruyayokocho, and evening sweets. Our 5-year-old grandchild especially loved Tsuruyayokocho and happily went there before and after meals. The male staff member at Tsuruyayokocho was impressively professional, handling everything with a smile despite being very busy on his own. His hospitality truly came through. The building is old and not glamorous, but its retro Showa-era charm was very relaxing. Thank you for your hospitality!

    The view is great, but the meals are average.

    The scenery looked promising, so I decided to stay here for the first time. This accommodation has no elevator and many stairs, which made it quite challenging. The horizontally long layout adds to the difficulty with both vertical and horizontal movement, which might be tough for elderly guests. The complimentary grilled squid and black fish cake were served cold and not very appealing. The weather was also bad, making it cold, so I left early. The meals were average; the simmered golden-eye snapper ranked the lowest among those I've had before. The tempura could be more visually appealing with better plating or dish selection. Breakfast felt a bit sparse as well. I did enjoy using the private bath—it was nice! However, when I tried to have coffee in the morning, the coffee machine displayed an error (indicating that grounds needed to be emptied) and couldn't be used. The room was clean and pleasant overall, but considering the stairs and food quality, I don't think I'll return here again. Overall, their sister accommodation "Kissho CAREN" is far superior in comparison. That said, the view of the sea being so close is wonderful! However, please note that depending on your room's bath angle, people walking below may have a clear view inside—so take care!

    From check-in to check-out, the warm hospitality and excellent Onsen provided a truly soothing experience. The sound of the waves served as background music, and the view of the sea from the window was breathtaking. The smiles of the staff were also delightful.

    Thank you for your hospitality. Overall, it was a good accommodation, but the prior evaluation on IKYU.com was a bit too high, so there were some slight disappointments. I felt that the service and amenities did not quite match the evaluation. Perhaps it couldn't be helped as it was crowded during New Year's. However, I believe the bath and meals were worthy of their high ratings.

    Stay for 1 night from January 2.

    Positive Points: The view from the room was excellent. Negative Points: Despite choosing an upgraded course, when I pointed out that the dessert menu was different, I was told, "It might have been a mistake... I'll check," and the apple pie had been replaced with kiwi. It ended with just a brief explanation of "The menu has changed." The restaurant was very busy, and dishes were served in no particular order. Unless we called out to the staff, it took a long time for food to arrive. This was very disappointing. The Onsen experience itself was good; however, due to an electrical issue, the bathroom lights were not working (it was dark and quite scary). We had high expectations for New Year's but felt slightly disappointed overall. Thank you for your hospitality!

    Thank you for taking care of us during our 2-night stay at the beginning of the year. We enjoyed the bingo tournament and various events, as well as the thoughtfully prepared New Year's dishes. We also appreciated being able to use the private bath once a day for free, which made us feel like we got great value. The lunchbox service was also very helpful. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much!

    I was really looking...

    I was really looking forward to my stay, but unfortunately, the noise from people running around on the floor above and outside made it difficult to relax. Additionally, although I understand how busy it can be, I had reserved a special room but experienced delays with breakfast service until I asked for it. At checkout, despite using Online Credit Card Payment, there was an attempt to charge me twice. Furthermore, the bus schedule provided did not match my reservation time. These issues were disappointing as I had chosen a special room for privacy and hoped for more consideration in this regard.

    Sea

    The ocean view was stunning, and the atmosphere was peaceful and quiet. The surprise-filled meal for our friend's 60th birthday celebration was delightful. Breakfast was served in a Room with several tables, which seemed to be exclusively for Japanese guests. The private open-air bath in the Room was wonderful. Choosing a Room with an open-air bath option might make the experience even better. We were blessed with great weather—it felt warm despite being December—and enjoyed a spa treatment, making it a perfect 60th birthday celebration. Thank you very much!

    The accommodation ex...

    The accommodation exceeded all expectations, but the manners of some foreign guests in the bath and lobby were terrible. On the other hand, the foreign staff were excellent (to a level that even Japanese people could learn from them)! I would love to come back again!!

    Overall, I had a very pleasant stay.

    We stayed in a room with an open-air garden bath to celebrate my husband's birthday. The weather was great the next morning, and the morning bath was amazing. I enjoyed soaking in the large public bath before dawn, then returned to our room to relax in the open-air bath while basking in the sunrise—it was incredibly soothing. The large public bath was a bit disappointing. It operates on a gender-swapping schedule, but one of the baths seemed originally designed for women and felt quite small overall. However, by the next morning, it had been swapped, so we could enjoy another bath instead. This one had two open-air baths and a rock bath that felt wonderful (though it’s more semi-open than fully open). Regarding meals and staff: upon check-in, we were guided by a female staff member whose explanations were slightly confusing—not because they were careless but because there were too many details like "breakfast is here," or "this service is usually here but today it's over there," making it hard to remember everything. It would be helpful if they marked locations with circles or symbols for clarity (as they did for our dinner location). During dinner service, another female staff member served us very politely at first, which made for an enjoyable start to our meal; however, as things got busier later on during service hours, she seemed rushed and hurried. While I understand that both servers and kitchen staff must have been extremely busy during this holiday weekend—and I don’t have any major complaints—the timing of dishes being served felt faster than our pace of eating. Since all dishes tasted excellent, this felt like a slight waste and left me feeling just a little disappointed. Additionally, having some kind of call bell system would be helpful when ordering drinks since being in private dining rooms with closed doors made it difficult for staff to notice us—this caused minor inconvenience. There are other thoughtful services provided by this accommodation; however sharing too much might spoil surprises for future guests! What stood out most is how much effort has clearly gone into creating these experiences. Breakfast was absolutely perfect—the location itself along with attentive care from staff members combined beautifully with delicious food. As for facilities: while parts of where we stayed appeared well-maintained despite their age (our section connected seamlessly), areas such as what seemed like older main buildings had creaky hallways where footsteps echoed loudly across uneven floors—I'm unsure whether guests staying inside those rooms noticed disturbances though! One significant drawback worth mentioning involves accessibility issues: no elevators exist within premises meaning stairs must frequently be climbed—including access routes leading toward my favorite large bathing area—which may pose challenges especially among elderly visitors seeking convenience alternatives instead! In conclusion both myself & husband thoroughly enjoyed delightful moments filled w/ tasty cuisine alongside relaxing ambiance throughout stay overall - Thank You So Much!

    This was my second t...

    This was my second time (same time last year), and it was simply amazing. I am so satisfied with the hospitality that I can't say anything more. Just one thing... Wasn't there a no tattoo policy? (There were some people with tattoos, possibly from overseas)
