    It was a great accommodation!

    We stayed in a villa with our family of four and our Chihuahua. Since it’s a bit away from the main building, we were very satisfied that Shuttle Service was provided each time we needed it. The Room and bath were amazing, and our daughters were excited the whole time! The food quality was excellent—especially the risotto, which was incredibly delicious. We also used the pool and were very satisfied. If I could share just two suggestions: since we traveled with our dog, it would have been nice if the area around the villa had better-maintained paths for walking. Also, while Wi‑Fi was available, we wished the TV had internet access so we could watch Netflix or YouTube. Overall, we were very satisfied. Thank you very much.

    Stay comfortable this hot summer at Hotel Anaga in Minami-Awaji.

    I was able to stay at Hotel Anaga again for the first time in four years. As usual, this visit was on our way back after paying respects at our family grave in Tokushima. It’s another hot summer this year, but once I arrive at Anaga, it feels comfortable. Of course, the air conditioning helps, but the red tiled roof buildings, cream-colored walls, green lawns, and the blue sea—along with the sound of the waves and people relaxing by the pool—create an atmosphere that feels like being in a southern country where it’s naturally hot. All of that together seems to soften the heat a little. I also enjoyed a delicious meal made with local ingredients. As always, it felt reassuring and familiar. This time I brought a small telescope to see if I could view the stars from here. Unfortunately, Typhoon No. 13 was approaching (not heading directly here), but there were quite a lot of clouds in the sky. In between them, I randomly photographed toward the south-southwest. Even through gaps in the clouds, it seems that objects like the Milky Way as well as the Trifid Nebula and Lagoon Nebula made it into my frame. If I’d had more time, I’m sure I could have captured clearer images. Since I didn’t expect much under cloudy skies this time, I only took a few shots from my Room balcony. Still, if you could go out onto one of Hotel Anaga’s wide open lawns with an unobstructed view to the southwest for observing, I think you could enjoy some wonderful stargazing. That said—staying up late into the night watching the sky instead of enjoying your Hotel stay probably isn’t what Anaga would recommend either.

    We stayed one night ...

    We stayed one night in Doggy Villa 311 starting July 18. There was a luxurious sofa for dogs, and our dog Hachi seemed to love it and happily slept on it. The bathtub was also large, so we could relax and enjoy a microbubble bath that helped soothe our fatigue. The meals were very delicious, with just the right portions, and my wife and I were both satisfied. We went to the dog run the next morning, but it was a bit far and we got tired just getting there. Hachi was thrilled to have the spacious dog run all to himself, ran around happily, then panted as he climbed the slope back to the Room, and ended up stretching out under the cool air conditioner.. The floor tiles were also dog-friendly throughout, which made it great for him to run around freely in the Room. It was two wonderful days that left both people and dogs completely satisfied.

    Revisit

    I visited again for the first time in several years. This is a Hotel I really like for its quiet setting and beautiful views. Breakfast had changed since last time. The previous breakfast was delicious as well. My companion and I said, “We’d like to come back again.” We will visit again.

    It was a wonderful accommodation.

    All the staff were extremely courteous, and the service was attentive, making our stay truly comfortable. Every meal was delicious, and the lobster in particular was outstanding. The vegetables and fish were also very fresh, and their crispness and flavor came through from the moment they arrived at our table. In addition, thanks to my IKYU Diamond member benefits, we were upgraded to the suite we had requested, and the view that opened up the moment we drew back the curtains in the morning was like a painting. In such a quiet, relaxing setting, we were able to unwind at a leisurely pace. Thank you very much.

    We had a relaxing an...

    We had a relaxing and wonderful time. The meals were delicious—absolutely outstanding. We requested a wine pairing, and it was excellent. We found even more favorite wines. Breakfast was also thoughtfully presented and enjoyable. The Room was spacious and perfect, but we were a bit concerned about the layout and flow in several areas. The amenities and Facility were great. We would definitely love to visit again. Thank you very much.

    It exceeded my expectations.

    I visited from far away on a friend’s recommendation that the food is excellent. Not only the meals, but everything about the stay was very comfortable—better than expected. The staff warmly suggested a hidden spot with a beautiful sunset and even offered to take photos; their smiles and thoughtful attention were truly heartwarming. Even the housekeeping staff we passed in the hallway in the morning greeted us with a friendly smile. We were upgraded to a suite Room, which made our stay even more comfortable. The spacious closet, long sofa with plenty of room to stretch out, island kitchen for making tea, and the stylish partition separating it from the bedroom—all simple yet functional—impressed us with many clever ideas. For dinner, we had the Anaga Classic course. The restaurant atmosphere was wonderful, and each dish showcased its ingredients beautifully and tasted great. This is just personal preference, but I was disappointed by the Awaji Island specialty of steamed onion stuffed with abalone because I don’t particularly like onions. I also didn’t care for the sauce on the roasted Awaji beef fillet. We would definitely like to visit again. Thank you very much.

    They upgraded our Room, and we were able to stay in a wonderful suite. Everyone was polite and kind, and we were truly impressed. The Hotel interior was also very clean and pleasant. It was a Hotel full of hospitality, and we could really feel the warm atmosphere created by the staff. We would definitely like to stay again.

    Stunning Views and Warm Hospitality

    The moment I entered the Room, I couldn’t help but gasp at the breathtaking view of the Onaruto Bridge. The sea at sunset and at dawn was truly beautiful—I never got tired of looking at it. The Room was perfectly prepared, and I could feel the thoughtful attention to detail throughout. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and the service was flawless. This Hotel was our first night’s Accommodation on our Shikoku trip, but next time I’d love to return and stay longer to relax here. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

    Not good value for money.

    The dinner drink selection was far too limited. When ordering extra bread, there was only one type available, and at breakfast no one offered refills. Charging extra for morning coffee is unacceptable. It was unpleasant to see the staff rushing past; please move more gracefully. It is standard practice to place the Receipt properly in an envelope. Perhaps my expectations were too high, but I was left disappointed. I wrote this candid review in the hope that things will improve, even a little. Thank you for celebrating my birthday.

    The meals were very satisfying.

    The meals and the Room cleanliness were excellent. However, the bathroom felt a bit inconsistent with how clean the Room was, and the bathtub surface was slightly rough, so I didn’t feel like soaking and relaxing. Also, when I tried to close the Room blinds, the cord snapped very easily. I contacted the front desk, but they said they couldn’t do anything about it, so I had to keep them open for my stay. The window is quite large. Although no one really passes by outside, it was pitch-dark outside and felt unsafe since the Room could be seen clearly from outside. I was also disappointed that there was little apology regarding this and that their response made it seem like it was my fault. Since the other blinds worked fine, I believe this was clearly a Facility issue.

    The Room is excellent.

    As an IKYU Diamond member, my Room was upgraded to a suite, which was excellent. The view was great and the service was very good. I splurged on the top French course, but it was disappointing—overpriced for the quality of both the food and service. I’d like to come again, but probably without dinner.

    We stayed at the accommodation to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. Although there were limited room types available, we requested adjacent rooms as it was a rare occasion for the family to gather, and our request was fulfilled, making it convenient to move between rooms. The staff kindly handled small requests such as receiving the surprise celebratory flowers and coordinating the timing for presenting them, which gave us peace of mind as we didn’t have to explain multiple times. I especially appreciated that previous requests were remembered during phone conversations prior to our stay. From our room, we could see the Naruto Bridge. Although it was cloudy on the day of check-in, the next day offered calm spring-like weather with a stunning view of deep blue seas. At night, we enjoyed watching ships pass by on the sea and had a relaxing time. The meals were delicious with beautiful presentation—perfect for a celebration dinner. The highlight was when my husband received a surprise dessert plate from the hotel saying "Happy 60th Birthday," which moved us deeply. The breakfast served on the following morning was also very tasty; I even asked for an extra serving of rice! The staff provided excellent service with warmth and professionalism throughout our stay. Additionally, they followed up regarding delivery details for souvenirs sent via courier after our visit—a thoughtful touch that left a great impression. I am truly grateful that my husband’s celebration went smoothly and became such a memorable experience. Thank you very much!

    With the Diamond Member upgrade, I was given a very lovely Room with a beautiful view of the Naruto Strait, making my stay extremely comfortable. The meals were delicious, especially the abalone risotto and Awaji beef for dinner, both complemented by excellent sauces.

    It was an accommodation worth the price.

    We booked a pet-friendly Doggy Villa for 2 adults and 2 dachshunds with two meals included. The view of the Naruto Bridge from the villa was stunning and truly impressive. While the interior wasn't brand new, it was thoroughly cleaned and very comfortable. The amenities for pets were well-prepared, so we had no inconveniences. The dog run was spacious and open, and our dogs enjoyed running around happily. The vast grounds were perfect for walking our dogs (from an owner's perspective). Shuttle service to the main building for meals was prompt, with no waiting time, as we were transported in an Alphard vehicle—making it very convenient. All staff members were polite and attentive, ensuring a pleasant stay. A highlight of our visit was definitely the food; both breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious. We would love to return if given another opportunity!

    The Hero of Awaji

    It was my first time staying for two nights, and I felt the pride of a first-class Hotel even though it is located in a rural area. The service was attentive, the amenities were abundant, the Room was beautifully renovated, and the Japanese-style breakfast was luxurious. In an era where services are often simplified, it’s rare to find Hotels with such traditional hospitality, which made me very happy as a guest. It was charming that I unknowingly asked difficult questions to staff members who turned out to be from overseas. Being unfamiliar with the area, I wanted to ask various things. Please continue to take pride in your work and keep up the great effort!

    It was a comfortable stay.

    We stayed with our dog this time, and every aspect of our stay, from the warm welcome to the farewell, was flawless and highly satisfying. The cottage on a hill overlooking the Naruto Strait provided a blissful experience. If I may point out one thing, while everything was exceptionally clean and wonderful, the towels were rough and comparable to those at standard Ryokans. The bathrobes were also quite thin. Improving the quality of linens could make the stay even more exceptional. The thoughtful service, such as providing an extension cord when needed, truly exceeded expectations. Thank you very much!

    Stay for a Birthday Celebration

    Stayed to celebrate a companion's birthday. From the warm welcome upon arrival to check-in and being guided to the room, everything was handled smoothly. Additionally, our room was upgraded to a suite, which made both of us very excited. The view from the room was excellent, allowing us to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing time. Dinner started at 5:30 PM, and with fewer guests around, we were able to dine in a calm atmosphere. Every dish was delicious with generous portions that left us highly satisfied. Unfortunately, I couldn't finish the meat dish as I don't eat meat; however, they kindly replaced my main course with fish upon request over the phone—handled very courteously for which I am grateful. After all courses were served, they presented a special birthday message plate followed by dessert that was truly delightful. The presentation of each dish was stunning and allowed us to enjoy not only the taste but also its visual appeal. Breakfast ranked among the best we've ever had during our travels—it was so delicious that we exchanged amazed looks at how good it tasted! Personally, I enjoyed breakfast even more than dinner. As Diamond members, we had a late checkout at 12:00 PM. Although it rained and we couldn’t rent bicycles as planned after breakfast, we spent some relaxing time in our room instead. Even after checkout, staff sent us off warmly—making for an overall pleasant experience. The hotel staff’s service and hospitality were exceptional. This has become another accommodation we'd love to visit again!

    Hotel with Excellent Dining

    We were upgraded to a suite room. The view of the Onaruto Bridge illuminated by the sunset from the room's balcony was absolutely stunning. It was also great to see it from such a close angle. We booked a plan with breakfast included, and the breakfast was visually delightful and incredibly delicious. Unfortunately, the bed and pillows did not suit us well. Additionally, my husband went to bed earlier, but since there was no door between the living room and bedroom, light leaked in, which caused some inconvenience. The living room lights were controlled by a single switch, so we couldn't turn off specific sections individually. It felt like we couldn't fully utilize having two rooms effectively, which was disappointing. The refrigerator had complimentary beer and tea inside, along with a coffee maker provided as well. The bathtub is slightly small but fills up quickly due to strong water pressure. In the morning, complimentary newspapers were available at our doorfront. If I may add one more request for improvement: I would have preferred pump-style soap instead of bar soap at the sink area. The staff's attentiveness was truly wonderful—they casually engaged in conversations that made our stay even more enjoyable. We had reserved French cuisine at IKYU Restaurant within the hotel through IKYU.com—it turned out to be exceptionally delicious! We highly recommend making reservations for French dining when staying here!

    Highly satisfied

    We stayed for two nights this time. First, the dinner was (probably) changed every night, and everything was absolutely delicious. The room was unexpectedly upgraded to a suite, so it was spacious with a great view of the bridge from the window, making it very relaxing just to stay in the room. On the second day, we missed lunch while out and wished we could have had something through room service or at the restaurant. It seems that if we had made a reservation for the restaurant in advance, we could have dined there. Since there aren’t many shops nearby and those available had long lines, it would have been nice if some simple food could be provided on short notice. Also, I wish there were kickboards available at the pool. Although I’ve written some requests above, all of your staff were incredibly pleasant and accommodating. We had an extremely satisfying stay. Thank you very much!

    A wonderful Hotel

    Spectacular View Hotel

    Recently, high-quality hotels have been increasing around Kyoto, but I had no idea there was such a wonderful hotel on Awaji Island... I was surprised to hear that it was built 38 years ago. It doesn't feel old at all; it's very clean and beautiful. We were upgraded to a nice room, equipped with the latest facilities, making our stay extremely comfortable. The view from the room was spectacular. The staff's warm smiles were soothing, and we enjoyed exquisite gourmet meals, making for an incredibly luxurious and perfect vacation. This has become one of the hotels I definitely want to visit again.

    My Five-Star Hotel

    The hospitality, service, restaurant, room, and location may not be extravagant, but we were able to enjoy a relaxing resort atmosphere. This time, we chose a cottage where we could stay with our beloved dog. Unfortunately, it rained and we couldn't go outside, but the Shuttle Service between the main building and the cottage was very convenient and much appreciated. The meals were kaiseki cuisine for both dinner and breakfast; everything was luxurious and delicious—truly impressive. Additionally, being able to rent an electric kickboard allowed us to enjoy a brief moment of sunshine during our stay. We would love to stay here again!

    First-time stay.

    I have visited Awaji Island many times, but I had not considered Anaga before as it does not have an Onsen. However, upon my first visit, I found it to be a cozy and comfortable hotel that made up for the lack of an Onsen. Perhaps due to fewer guests during my stay, my room was upgraded. The room's design, spaciousness, view from the window, and above all, the excellence of both dinner and breakfast truly stood out. The chef's dedication was evident in every dish. The meals were visually delightful and delicious, leaving me feeling completely satisfied. The hospitality and thoughtfulness of the hotel staff also made this a place I would love to visit again. Thank you very much!

    I had a relaxing and enjoyable time.

    I took a bus, but they kindly provided free Shuttle Service to nearby areas and even asked if there was anywhere I wanted to stop on the way! Everyone at the Hotel was so kind and attentive. I will definitely come back to refresh myself!

    A Hotel Friendly to Both Dogs and People

    We stayed at the accommodation with our beloved dog to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The room where dogs can stay is a cottage located a bit away from the main building, but the staff was always available to provide shuttle service by car, which was very helpful. The room was very spacious, offering beautiful views of the ocean, allowing us to relax and enjoy our time. Dinner was a French course meal and it was absolutely delicious. The wine paired with the dishes was also exceptional. The next day, we watched our dog happily running around in the large private dog park for guests and felt that we would definitely like to come back again. All of the hotel staff were very kind and made our stay pleasant and comfortable.
