We stayed in the Spe...
We stayed in the Special Room Wakutake. There were four of us: my 4-year-old son, my parents, and me. The Room isn’t new, but it’s spacious and comfortable. The food was delicious as well—satisfying in both quality and quantity. The special kids’ menu was also well prepared. There are several types of baths, which was great, and our child never got bored.

It was very relaxing.
The Room was wonderful, both dinner and breakfast were very delicious, the staff’s service was courteous, and of course the Onsen was excellent. I also heard the Room had been renovated, so I had a very comfortable stay; however, it was very disappointing to find dirt in the grooves of the sash at the shower room entrance and a large buildup of dust clogging the ventilation fan intake. These can be cleaned and made spotless with proper housekeeping. The face towels were very thin and didn’t absorb water well. Since this is such a lovely Accommodation, you might consider upgrading them to something comparable in quality to the bath towels—though I realize that may be an unnecessary suggestion. If I have another opportunity, I would like to stay again. Thank you very much.

My high expectations...
My high expectations were dampened the moment I entered the Room and saw the tatami mats badly worn. The view from the Room—over the Santoku River, the Onsen town, and the mountain range behind—has a wonderful atmosphere, which makes it all the more disappointing. Even if a building is old, you can still be satisfied if it is well maintained. The Onsen has many baths and is enjoyable, but a drawback is that the open-air bath lacks a sense of openness—perhaps unavoidable given the surroundings. I was mostly satisfied with the meals.

The bath was great.
The bath was great. The Room was cold. Since the building has centralized air conditioning, it was difficult, but I asked during dinner and they provided a heating fan, which really helped. I choose my Accommodation by looking for a Room with an Onsen because I want to enjoy the Onsen, so I would be happy if solo travelers could stay as well. Thank you.

As it was a special ...
As it was a special Room, we were able to relax and take our time. The bath was also spacious, which was great. However, since check-out was at 11:00, we used the open-air bath in the Room and were relaxing. As we were getting changed and about to leave, we heard the door being unlocked and a staff member came in briefly before leaving. When I asked, they said they had entered the wrong Room. Until check-out time, guests may still be in the Room, so staff should knock or otherwise confirm before entering.

It's cold everywhere you go.
Stayed on New Year's Day. The room was a remodeled Japanese-style room with a Western touch, but it felt cramped for four people. The bath was cold unless you were fully submerged in the water. It might be fine in summer, but it's tough in winter. The ryokan felt like visiting an old countryside home. Given its age, it can't be helped, but it's not suitable for winter stays. The meals were like homemade dishes—just average. Misasa Onsen also had a somewhat desolate atmosphere.

We enjoyed the delicious meals.
Meals were served in the grand hall, and we were promptly guided to our seats right after exiting the elevator. The seating was spaced out from other guests, allowing us to dine comfortably. Dinner included crab and a delicious wagyu beef soy milk shabu-shabu. The Koshihikari rice from Misasa was exceptionally tasty, and I had seconds during breakfast. At night, we used the right-side bath; however, moving between baths was a bit far and chilly. The radium hot bath was very relaxing. In the morning, we enjoyed the left-side bath, which was thoroughly satisfying. There was a morning market in front of the first-floor elevator where seafood and other items could be purchased. After breakfast, complimentary coffee was available in the lounge where we could relax while enjoying views of the garden scenery.

Only one bath towel is provided.
The bath is excellent, but having only one towel in the Room for everything seems inconvenient. It would be nice to have towels provided in the bath as well. The meals are perfectly portioned, not too much and without waste, which is very satisfying.

Meals & Onsen
The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were very delicious. The staff who assisted us responded promptly and politely to questions about the ingredients. The Onsen in the large public bath was very relaxing. However, the building is a bit old, and there were some areas where cleanliness could be improved. Also, this might just be my personal preference, but I felt that pajama-style sleepwear would be better as the yukata tends to come undone at the feet while sleeping.

For the first time in 10 years!
I stayed here 10 years ago and visited again after a long time. Perhaps due to the aging of the facility, there were leaks in places like the hallways and shop, and the air conditioning in the room couldn't adjust temperature (only L.M.H settings), which made it very cold. I remember the food being very delicious in the past, but I felt it might have changed, which was a bit disappointing. However, the Tottori Wagyu grilled dishes and shabu-shabu were delicious!

Historic Accommodation
1. When I called the front desk about the missing yukata sash, they kindly brought it to me. 2. There was no place to have dinner, which made it inconvenient when I wanted a quick meal. It was too late to find light snacks nearby upon arrival. 3. The bath was wonderful. Despite the ongoing construction, the gentle hot spring water provided a relaxing experience. On a clear night during the rainy season, with cooler temperatures compared to Kanto, it felt very calming. The sake lees facial cleanser provided was also excellent. 4. The driver who provided shuttle service to Kurayoshi Station was very considerate and ensured I made it in time for my train, saving me about an hour in my schedule afterward. 5. This accommodation is said to have hosted members of the Imperial Family as well!

So close...
The environment was rich in nature and pleasant. The facility had new and clean rooms with not a speck of dust, but the extremely dirty glass throughout the ryokan was concerning. The meals were ordinary with no special touches or unique dishes. The drink service in the lounge was excellent. However, there were no towels or bath towels available in the public bath. There wasn’t even complimentary coffee provided in the room, which I found to be a major drawback along with the lack of towels in the public bath. The onsen itself was decent and enjoyable. I felt that the front desk staff could improve their service level slightly, but those who saw us off were exceptional—they waved until we were out of sight. Overall, I think this ryokan has potential but falls short due to some key issues: for a room costing over 100,000 yen for two people, only having water from a pot as complimentary drinks is surprising based on my experience staying at other high-end ryokans at similar price points. Even if it means raising prices slightly, providing proper amenities like towels in the public bath and better drink options in rooms would greatly enhance guest satisfaction—I recommend reconsidering these aspects!

Good.
The exterior may look old, which made me a bit worried, but the bath is amazing! That alone made me completely satisfied. There were many elderly guests with chronic conditions, and I didn’t see many young people. As for the meals... they were simply excellent!

First Visit to Misasa Onsen
I had heard of this accommodation before, so I took the opportunity to stay during my trip to Tottori. The bath was amazing and left a deep impression on me. Unfortunately, the radium inhalation service ended early and was only available in the afternoon, which was disappointing. I hope it can be open in the morning as well. I was also delighted that they helped us celebrate my mother's 99th birthday (Hakujyu). However, my mother accidentally fell and fractured a bone in the room, forcing us to cut our trip short and return home. The staff worked hard to find a care taxi for us, allowing her to return home safely on a stretcher after a 7-hour journey. We are truly grateful for their assistance—thank you very much! While taking care of my mother now, I look forward to visiting again someday.

Birthday Celebration
Drawn by the charm of Misasa's Onsen, I decided to stay here for the first time. The quality of the Onsen was top-notch and flawless, and the accommodation exuded a sense of its former glory as a prestigious establishment. The staff were very friendly and left a positive impression. I stayed in a room with an attached Onsen, but there was no facial cleanser provided, and the amenities were average or slightly below. The TV was also somewhat outdated. The meals were within the range of being delicious but lacked any "special" feeling. Given the large scale of the accommodation, it seems that maintaining facilities and managing meals might be challenging to keep up with fully.

Rural Onsen Accommodation
The staff seemed untrained, as evidenced by the response at the front desk when asked, "Is Kurayoshi on the way to the airport?" The reply was confusing: "Kurayoshi is integrated with Misasa and is central to Tottori. Tottori has two airports, and there’s also one in Okayama." Other staff mentioned something about a military airport, which made it even more unclear and gave an impression of communication issues. The attendant who assisted us was earnest and sincere but seemed slightly inattentive. However, given the level of training at the front desk, it seems unfortunate for them as well.

The bath was excellent.
There are three baths to enjoy, offering a delightful experience. The radium hot spring provided excellent water quality. It was a bit disappointing that the welcome drink coffee was instant.

I went to eat Matsuba crab.
My elderly mother had a major illness the year before last and has finally recovered to the point where she can move around with a walker, so we thought this would be her last long-distance trip and went to Misasa Onsen, known for its high efficacy, to eat her favorite crab. Choosing a Japanese-Western style room with a semi-open-air bath was the right decision as my mother might not have been able to go to the large public bath. There were handrails in the bath, and there were no problems moving around inside the room. It was cold outside and snowing, but since we could close the window of the semi-open-air bath, even my mother who feels cold easily could enjoy bathing comfortably. The water was indeed excellent at Misasa Onsen, and the large public bath also had well-equipped facilities. We enjoyed a kaiseki meal featuring Matsuba crab; everyone was very satisfied with both quantity and content. Judging from my mother's condition, I don't think she can take another long-distance flight anymore, but if by some miracle she recovers next year, I would like to make an effort to take her again.

Is it appropriate to list such a Ryokan on IKYU?
Unpleasant from the time of advance reservation contact Listed as having esthetic massage, but Male ryokan staff gave vague answers Shuttle service available, informed in advance about the time, but No contact until the last minute, used a taxi for 3900 yen To the ryokan, arrived at 17:15 and even though we were nearby Did not unload luggage, we unloaded two suitcases ourselves and went to the front desk again with incomprehensible content Arrived at 17:15 with esthetic scheduled from 17:30? Canceled. We moved our luggage ourselves. Dinner was at 18:30. When we went to the private room a little early at 18:10 Everything was already prepared. It was cold and unappetizing; hardly ate it. Breakfast was also pre-prepared; hardly ate it either. The next day returned two crabs untouched. Too terrible overall! Room is shabby; tatami mats inside are wobbly in Room 422 Large bath saving electricity costs; dimly lit Indoor shower support is broken down. We laid out futons ourselves; mattress full of stains—disgusting! Did not request room cleaning either Stayed for two nights Ate out three times for breakfast and twice for dinner Large bath also dirty I am involved with hotels listed on IKYU site too but this is my first time feeling so unpleasant about a ryokan like this one Indeed made an urgent reservation through someone's introduction but even my acquaintance in Kurayoshi (Kurayoshi) was appalled by it all IKYU should ensure proper information listing or else compliance issues will arise! Customers will flee too—it truly felt humiliating Despite eating so little food there being no cleaning nor futons does that not bother them? Strange indeed—the management must have quite thick nerves which surprised me greatly Well seeing ahead I calmed myself down before returning home however IKYU-san you should pay attention to word-of-mouth reviews really

They accommodated my allergies, and I was able to enjoy delicious meals. The portions were just right. The staff were also kind. Thank you very much. The large public bath was spacious and clean, but the open-air bath was too large and cold, so I couldn't explore it all. The private bath was reasonably priced and pleasant, but the hairdryer was very old and had no airflow, which was surprising! Haha

Favorite mist sauna to inhale
I visited Misasa Onsen for a therapeutic stay at the Radium Onsen for 2 nights. The onsen was really great, and although I tried a different property for the second night, I felt it would have been nice to have a multiple night stay. It would have been even better if the mist was available in the morning as well. Due to post-surgery recovery, I couldn't eat much and wanted to relax, so I opted for in-room dining, and the meals were very delicious both in the morning and evening. The autumn leaves were vibrant, the scenery was beautiful, and the complimentary drinks in the lobby were a delightful service. It was a property I would like to stay at again if visiting Misasa Onsen.

Three Generations Family Trip
The staff were all nice, and the person who took care of our meals provided very pleasant service, making our stay very enjoyable. My father's feet felt better, and my grandchild's skin became smooth. We would love to visit again. The food was also delicious. Thank you very much.

I was extremely healed.
My family home is in Tottori City, and I had used the onsen for a day trip in the past, so I was curious! This was my first time staying, but the food, onsen, and hospitality were all excellent. I will visit again next year!

The retro feel was nice.
The atmosphere of Misasa Onsen was Showa retro and nice. The Ryokan's Facility is old, but it seems to be well-cleaned, so we had a pleasant stay. The bath was a circuit style with many options to enjoy. The service was not overly attentive, which was just right for us. I wished the meals had a bit more of a special touch. The view from the window was fantastic, with the river and the lights of the Onsen town visible. The garden was also very beautiful.

Elderly??
The meals were delicious and satisfying, but the numerous steps in the bath may not be suitable for the elderly. I used the radon steam bath on the first day, but unfortunately, I couldn't use it the next day. Some of the facilities seemed a bit old.

An inn I want to stay at again
I really liked the newly renovated large bath from my previous visit, and it was an inn I wanted to stay at again. This time, it was my first visit in four years, but the bath was still great, and I was very satisfied. Not only the variety and size of the baths, but I also realized during this stay that the quality of the spring water is very good. The room was also clean and tidy, and I would like to use it again if I have the opportunity. Thank you very much.

I was expecting more, but...
Since the accommodation costs were high during the three-day weekend in September, we stayed with a cheaper plan of just under 20,000 yen per person, which included a bento dinner. In my personal image of a ryokan, I imagined that upon entering the room, a staff member would serve tea and invite us to relax, but everything was self-service, haha. We stayed as a group of three, and when it was time for dinner, a bento wrapped in a non-woven fabric furoshiki was brought to our room. I thought the staff would open and arrange it for us, but they left with a "please help yourself" kind of attitude. The bento, still wrapped in the furoshiki, was placed haphazardly on the table, and we had to unwrap and arrange it ourselves. I felt a bit disappointed, thinking, "We came all the way to a ryokan for this?" I figured it might be because we chose a cheap plan, so we ate with that in mind. The taste was neither good nor bad. The hot spring water was very nice. However, the building was old, and the ventilation fans and air conditioning were covered in mold and dust. While it's understandable that the building is old, I thought they could have maintained it a bit better. I had high expectations, so I was very disappointed. However, the location was good as it was close to the hot spring town.

Smooth and satisfying
I stayed in a room with a semi-open-air bath. The room was okay, but it was hot. Even when I set the air conditioning to high, it was still hot, so I told the front desk, and they brought a fan to the room, haha. The bath water was excellent, and I took a bath several times, leaving my skin smooth and very satisfied. Dinner was served in a private room, and the food was delicious, allowing us to enjoy a relaxed and leisurely meal. It's an inn I want to visit again.

As expected, the hot water here is great.
I have visited several times before, both personally and for company day trips. I love the hot springs at Misasa Onsen and visit every year, but this time I stayed at Izanro Iwasaki with my wife because I wanted to enjoy "Rakuzan no Yu." We thoroughly enjoyed all the wonderful hot springs after a long time, and the meal, featuring Tottori beef and Hōjō wine, was delicious as expected.
