    Kids were satisfied, but for adults it could have been a bit better.

    We chose a traditional Japanese-style Room, and it was very spacious and comfortable. The kids had a great time playing in the pool. For adults, we would have liked a bit more variety in the meals. We used the Onsen in the evening and again the next morning. In the evening it was crowded, and the changing area was inconvenient with tall, narrow lockers. The hair dryers were also hard to get, which was tiring. The Onsen the next morning was very quiet and comfortable.

    It became a wonderful memory.

    We traveled as a group of seven: three elementary to middle school children and my elderly parents. We arrived early, but they checked us in right away, and the staff member in charge was very considerate in many ways, which we truly appreciated. Everyone at the Hotel was very pleasant, and we had a comfortable stay. This was our first time staying here. We chose it because we were attracted by the pool and Chateraise meals. The pool was a bit smaller than we expected and felt more suited for younger children, but we still enjoyed it. The breakfast buffet wasn’t overly seasoned, and there were also Chateraise sweets available—an extremely satisfying breakfast! The location is far from Sapporo Station, and since we needed to catch a flight the next day, we couldn’t make it in time using the Shuttle Service bus, so we used the city bus instead. It’s a short walk from the Hotel, but it was easy enough to use without any issues. We’re glad we stayed here! Thank you very much!

    First time in Shatkin

    The welcome sweets were great. The bath was far, and the lockers were even farther. The buffet was excellent, but the desserts were a bit disappointing. Overall, it felt luxurious—definitely one of the top Hotels I’d like to visit again!

    We had the most enjoyable New Year’s holiday.

    We usually stayed as three, including our grandchild, but this time we visited as a group of six across three generations. The grandchildren came for the pool and the hands-on craft activities, while our daughter and her husband were looking forward to the breakfast and dinner buffets. There was an impressive selection of dishes perfect for New Year’s, and everyone enjoyed it thoroughly and was very satisfied. The craft activities also offer something different each time, and they were delighted to make this one as well. We always have wonderful experiences here, which makes us even more excited for our next visit.

    The food is delicious.

    The food was delicious, and being able to play in the pool made it perfect. Since it was a Plan that included a cake to take home, we were able to enjoy it even after we got back.

    I was really looking forward to it, but now I’m disappointed.

    I wouldn’t mind if the Room was old as long as it was thoroughly cleaned, but there was a lot of mold in the grout on the bathroom wall, which was unpleasant. Also, right after we arrived, my sister lay down on the bed and found a large bug—she screamed. I don’t think I will use this place again.

    Used to celebrate a birthday.

    The hotel was clean throughout, and the Room was spacious with a great view—wonderful overall. The ice machine and coin laundry facilities were also well equipped. The refrigerator felt a bit small, and it was great that we could still use the pool and Onsen even after check-out.

    It was a very good Hotel.

    The Room was more spacious than we expected, and the bathroom (in the Room) was also large, clean, and even had a separate washing area, making our stay very comfortable. The meals were buffet-style, but the crab was very fresh and we enjoyed it a lot. We would like to stay again.

    About the Pool

    Hello, thank you for having us—we had a wonderful time the other day. Regarding the pool, I would appreciate it if there were time slots that give priority to Accommodation guests. For example, allowing guests to swim one hour earlier in the morning. The line for day visitors first thing in the morning was very long, so we decided not to wait. Even 30 minutes or an hour of guest-only priority time would be greatly appreciated.

    A bit dated, perhaps?

    My grandchildren were very happy to have a pool, and they also said the baths were great with a good variety. However, even if some fraying on the bed is unavoidable, I couldn’t help noticing mold in the grout of the Room bathroom. Also, it was very disappointing that when the washbasin is reflected in the mirror, you can see how blackened the grooves are. The meals were very much what you’d expect from Chateraise—the desserts were especially good. That said, it was disappointing that there was only one place to eat and no other options. The staff at the dining area were very kind and helpful (my grandchild has an egg allergy).

    Perfect for families

    This time, I stayed in a single Room for a business trip. The Room was spacious and the bed was comfortable, but it was set back and not facing the atrium, which was a bit disappointing. As this is a Facility from Japan’s bubble era, it’s an exceptionally luxurious building by today’s standards. Although it has aged a little over the years, you can still enjoy an elegant atmosphere.

    Same-day Reservation

    I made a reservation at 4 AM on the day, and I think the kids enjoyed it. We weren't planning to stay, but since there is an indoor pool even in winter, we were interested. This time, due to the snow, we were able to choose flights freely, so we decided to add another night and booked separately from the hotel at the snow festival venue through IKYU. Perhaps because it was off-season, there was only a buffet for dinner, but since we went early, we could relax and enjoy both the pool and Onsen for two days. There was a noisy foreign group as well, but they were seated far away so it didn't bother us; such consideration was appreciated even though it's a small thing.

    It's an old hotel anyway.

    The hotel is very old and shows signs of aging. Overall, the lighting is dim, and the corridor to the guest rooms is like a haunted house, which scared the children a lot. This time, we stayed at a hotel with "suite" in its name, but the room was far from what you would call a suite. The windows in the room were so dirty that we couldn't see outside. Also, the bed was very uncomfortable, with the springs poking into our backs painfully, so we had no choice but to lay the duvet underneath and cover ourselves with bath towels to sleep. There was only one restaurant open for dinner and breakfast, and since there was nothing around, there were no other options. The buffet was priced at 4,000 yen for adults, but the selection was so poor that there was hardly anything to eat. The tuna was discolored, the salad was dry, and the shabu-shabu was so greasy that it was scary to eat. More than half of the guests were group tourists from Asia. I'm very sorry, but it was a stay where I couldn't write a positive review. I have written this in hopes that it will be helpful for those considering staying in the future.
