First stay after the renovation
This was my first stay since the renovation. The Room no longer has a separate shower booth; it has been integrated with the bathtub, and the small TV above the sink has also been removed. The area around the bed has been changed as well, giving an overall cleaner impression. There were baked sweets on the table, and champagne was provided as an IKYU Diamond benefit. Personally, I would appreciate complimentary parking from the previous benefit more than champagne. I had requested turndown service to match our dining time, but they came earlier than the specified time slot, so I asked them to return later. Even before the renovation I always specified a time slot, and this was the first time they came outside of it. Dinner was at New York Grill, and breakfast was at Girandole. At Girandole, the way the ingredients were arranged had changed, but I preferred how it was before.

At last, I was able to visit.
A Room with a wonderful view and a lovely selection of furnishings. I wish I could have stayed longer. I wanted to go for a walk to places like Shinjuku Gyoen, but I couldn’t figure out how to get there. Everyone answered politely when I asked, but no one proactively offered guidance, which was the only disappointment.

After the renovation, the experience fell far short of expectations and was very disappointing (from a repeat guest).
As someone who has been with Park Hyatt Tokyo for 20 years, I experienced my first Multiple Night Stay after the renovation. The physical aspects have improved significantly. The guestroom design and comfort, the bathroom, the minibar, and the sheer scale and views of the spa area (Club on the Park) are a wonderful evolution. The pool and sauna quality also remain excellent and deserve high marks. In particular, the 40th-floor Japanese restaurant “Kozue” was just as good as ever—nothing has changed in the best way. The delicate seasoning and presentation of the dishes, along with the view (even Mt. Fuji!), were as outstanding as before, and I was genuinely satisfied. I was happy that this place alone still retains traces of a “sanctuary in the sky.” However, on the service side, it no longer felt like something that could be called “high quality.” - Housekeeping: Cleaning quality was underwhelming (was the desk even wiped?), and there were no sweets on day two. Have you stopped providing sweets for Multiple Night Stay guests? I miss the pre-renovation surprise cake. - Returning-guest service: Previously, a humidifier and lamp would be set up without me asking; this time there was nothing. - Room service: Despite encouraging digital ordering, staff couldn’t immediately explain how to request tray pickup and kept saying “I’ll check.” Small touches were missing too—no straw with orange juice. - New York Bar: Even though it was obvious I was an in-house guest, I was left unattended with no greeting. - Spa treatment: The Facility is beautiful, but treatment skills were mediocre. I couldn’t reach deep relaxation; disappointingly, it hasn’t caught up to The Peninsula Tokyo’s spa level. - Checkout: It took time, and express checkout hasn’t returned—more hassle than before. I assume this is due to insufficient training right after reopening, but taken together it felt like it had dropped to an “ordinary Hotel” level. I miss the quiet sophistication of Lost in Translation days—the professional service that understood without being told. It’s not a bad Hotel, but for loyal guests seeking true refinement it now feels like something else entirely. It left me feeling that this might be goodbye. I’m writing this with hope that things will change for the better. If one day its reputation returns to what it once was—and that sense of awe comes back—I may visit again someday.

Evolving PHT
Ever since my stay on the first day after the renovation, I’ve been looking forward to coming back. This time I stayed in a Room equivalent to the previous Corner View Room, but it feels quite different now. While clearly showing how much it has evolved, I still fully enjoyed the timeless PHT highlights—NYG lunch, the pool, room service, and NY Bar. The familiar staff welcomed me with the same warm smiles as always, and I’m truly grateful! Also, the Ruinart included as an IKYU Diamond benefit was fantastic!

First stay since the renovation
I visited one of my favorite Hotels in Tokyo after it reopened following a renovation. The Room’s overall atmosphere hasn’t changed much, but it feels brighter and more modern. The bathroom layout has been changed, and it is still spacious and easy to use, but I was a bit disappointed that the mini TV was removed and there were fewer bath towels. The staff were polite and excellent, but at check-in there was no explanation of the IKYU Diamond member benefits, so I had to ask to confirm them myself. I had dinner at Zilliond’or; the dishes were unique and wonderful, each course was enjoyable, the service staff provided attentive explanations, and I felt it offered good value for money. One disappointing point was that there appeared to be a previous guest’s note—or scribbles—left on the memo pad by the bedside in the Room. Overall, it feels more modern than before and the service is still good, so I would like to stay again.

A Hotel you’ll want to return to
I had been looking forward to staying after the renovation. The Room was comfortable, and I was able to forget about everyday life and truly unwind. I had lunch at Girandole and dinner at the Peak Lounge—both had a wonderful atmosphere and the food was delicious. I was also happy when a staff member said, “Please come again,” as I was leaving the Peak Lounge. For breakfast, I ordered à la carte with in-room dining. Everything was excellent, and next time I may try the buffet. The rose served alongside the meal was beautiful—I wished I could have taken it home. I stayed at another Hotel the following day, but Park Hyatt Tokyo is truly one of a kind, offering an otherworldly experience.

About Check-in Procedures During Your Stay (For Your Reference)
Thank you for the opportunity to stay at your Accommodation for my girlfriend’s birthday the other day. We arrived at the usual check-in time of 3:00 PM, but were initially told it would be a 40-minute wait due to room preparation, and ultimately ended up waiting about 60 minutes. During that time, we were a bit disappointed that there were no further updates or follow-up. In addition, coordination between the front desk staff and the Club on the Park staff did not seem sufficient, and we ended up waiting by the pool while holding our luggage. When we asked a staff member about the situation, we were told it was “because of the three-day holiday,” but this still raised some concerns given that it was during normal check-in hours. I am sharing this as feedback for your reference.

Impressions Compared to Before the Renovation
This was my first stay after the renovation, so I’ve listed what I noticed compared with before. "Please note that in-room features may vary slightly depending on the Room." - No morning newspaper. As a result, there were no newspapers in the Club on the Park lounge either. - No DVD player; instead, the TV is larger. There are 34 channels. - The previous shower booth is gone; there is now a shower in the washing area. - The walk-in closet luggage bench has a marble finish. - The small TV above the vanity that could be seen from the bathtub is no longer there. - A full-size bottle of Aesop body cream was provided in the Room, which was great for winter. - I used the sauna and jacuzzi at Club on the Park, and it felt largely unchanged. - Breakfast was buffet-style; each dish was served in small glass bowls with lids, making for a colorful presentation. Personally, as an IKYU Diamond member benefit, I would prefer complimentary access to Club on the Park’s sauna and jacuzzi as before, rather than a bottle of champagne.

This was my first st...
This was my first stay since the renovation, after a two-year gap. The Room still had the same chic, elegant atmosphere as before, and the functionality has been significantly upgraded. The minibar was even more well stocked, and the bathroom with a separate washing area was very convenient to use. I was a little disappointed that I couldn’t borrow a Blu-ray player to watch my favorite movies on the large TV, and that this time I wasn’t able to receive the IKYU late check-out benefit. Breakfast at Girandole by Alain Ducasse was excellent. In addition to the main dish, I enjoyed choosing from a variety of breads, appetizers, and desserts at the buffet. The chocolate mousse truly lived up to Alain Ducasse—highly recommended. All of the staff were as courteous and kind as ever. In particular, the team at Girandole explained various details about the main dishes, which made me want to come back again. I’m also very grateful that you accommodated my personal requests. Thank you very much.

The Room description...
The Room description said it was equipped with a “65-inch TV and DVD/CD player,” so I stayed here again for the first time in a while, planning to hold a meeting while watching an overseas parts catalog DVD. However, I was told there is no DVD player now. I would have bought a DVD player at Shinjuku West Exit if the HDMI port could be used, but that wasn’t possible either. Please ensure that what is written on your website is accurate.

Looking forward to the future
Breakfast: Too refined, not enjoyable. Lacks variety and essential items for a buffet. Only the natural taste of ingredients is noticeable. If you choose Japanese breakfast, you cannot use the buffet. Switching to an à la carte menu with multiple options might be better. It felt like something suited for a club lounge. Room: The pre-renovation rooms felt more spacious. The bathroom is unusually large, which may not be ideal—perhaps it's designed with universal accessibility in mind?

Worse than the most basic Business Hotel; even after renovation, it would still be a completely different place.
The service on the guest room floor was extremely poor. I checked in at 3:00 p.m., but even the “latest” facilities were difficult to use—for example, the shower controls were very confusing. At 10:00 p.m., a foreign staff member shouting in English suddenly yelled at me, “Get out! Right now.” I called the police and was assisted by four officers; this has been officially recorded. As I have not checked out, I am currently requesting a refund of JPY 143,000, which I paid via IKYU in December.

Has hospitality and safety disappeared?
Loved the Park Hyatt Tokyo. Stayed not just 10 or 20 times, but over 100 or even 200 times. With repeated stays, my preferences were fully understood and consistently provided, making every stay perfectly comfortable... However, this special stay to celebrate my birthday turned out to be truly disappointing. I have never regretted a stay as much as this one. The once hospitable Park Hyatt Tokyo may have disappeared along with the room renovations. Without going into details, the female receptionist was unaware of my prior requests and purpose of stay and simply responded with "not possible" without consulting her superior. A familiar staff member noticed the interaction during check-in and intervened by speaking with her before accepting my request; however, by then I had already lost hope and politely declined. Amenities that were always naturally provided in the room were completely overlooked this time, leaving me disheartened to ask for everything from scratch—so I said nothing further. My expectations had entirely vanished at that point. The next morning while I was bathing, a housekeeping staff member **entered without permission**—an incident that should never happen from a security standpoint! Startled beyond words when our eyes met (as she likely came to return requested laundry), I screamed loudly in shock while sitting naked in the bathwater. This event felt like it sealed everything negatively for me permanently. Although apologies came later during luggage collection & checkout moments via different senior personnel—it didn’t alleviate anything emotionally before heading off toward another hotel via taxi afterward. Having attended pre-reopening party Dec-4th w/ high hopes ahead Dec-9th reopening day-stay itself expecting future seamless experiences growing better-than-ever instead left commemorative memories tarnished sadly concluding no longer aligned anymore perhaps fate-wise between us mutually now onwards... Future guests advised tempering expectations cautiously avoiding excessive anticipation risks altogether hereafter likely safer approach overall perspective-wise!

First Visit After Renovation to Your Favorite Place
First visit after the renovation. I wondered how it had changed and hoped that the things I loved remained unchanged. Room: "Premium Corner," previously referred to as "Park Corner" or "Park View Room." Changes noticed (personal impressions): - Welcome champagne offered at check-in - Key is now a leather chip type, without the previous metal part - Room interior features bright colors as seen in photos - Only one access point to the bathroom - USB ports are plentiful by the bedside - Closet is positioned visibly from the room - Room table has a less business-like design - Separate area with a table and chair suitable for web meetings available in-room - Ottoman was removed - Automatic blinds installed in-room - Toilet is independent, not within the bathroom - Glass-walled shower booth was removed - Morning newspaper service discontinued - Water bottles now feature hotel-themed colors instead of plain aluminum Things that remained unchanged (personal impressions): - Bath amenities are Aesop - Hairdryer is Dyson - Razor and shaving foam are Kai products The hotel feels like it has been renovated to match modern luxury standards. However, I personally loved “that unique feel” of “the Park Hyatt Tokyo,” including both its strengths and quirks. The new look feels more universally appealing, which makes me feel slightly nostalgic (laughs). The IKYU special bottle of champagne was 750ml, which felt excessive since I stayed alone (laughs). Rating-wise, my attachment to the previous Park Hyatt Tokyo would have given it "100 points out of 5." Comparing it with that memory, my evaluation reflects this sentiment. Nonetheless, there’s no doubt it's still an amazing place!

What is a renovation?
After the renovation, we were excited and decided to stay in a suite for two nights. Although check-in was stated to be at 3 PM, we were told the room wasn’t ready at that time and had to wait while chatting at the front desk. They mentioned everything was renewed during the renovation, but the carpet seemed unchanged. The toilet seat was cold, which felt outdated, and room cleaning could have been better. As for breakfast, while it’s acceptable in that location during morning hours, I wouldn’t want to have lunch or dinner there—it feels dusty due to being on a lower level and lacks privacy as you feel exposed while eating. The elevator didn’t require a card key for access to rooms—this seems outdated nowadays. Wi-Fi didn’t connect properly either. I requested shoe cleaning service by 1 PM so they’d be ready when I returned from dinner; however, despite calling three times as reminders, it took over an hour before they arrived with my shoes. It felt like there weren’t enough staff or communication issues existed within their team. Overall, this accommodation did not meet its price point expectations. Considering there are many other hotels in Shinjuku area... I don’t think I’ll return here again.

The Facility remains the same, but the service has changed.
If it's a budget accommodation, 5 points; for this price, 1 point. Cleaning is rough, and they don't even remember the names or faces of past regular guests. Operations are slow. A 50,000 yen accommodation.
