    An Onsen Hotel Perfect for Easy Stargazing

    After reading a Review saying the stars are beautifully visible at this Accommodation, I made a Reservation to coincide with the peak of the Perseids meteor shower. Since my original dates were certain to be rainy due to a typhoon, I asked if I could shift the stay by one day, and I truly appreciated how quickly they checked availability and accommodated my request so flexibly. Behind the Hotel is a large sloped lawn; if you bring a picnic sheet, you can lie down and enjoy a sky full of stars. Because there are lights from the Hotel, it may not be ideal for serious stargazing or photography, but it’s perfect for families who want to enjoy the night sky easily. The Room shows its age in places, but it seemed well cleaned and never felt unpleasant. The staff were also consistently friendly and professional. I had hoped to see more of the night sky from the open-air bath, but thick trees meant it was only visible through small gaps. It was also a downside that access to the large public bath is via stairs only, and there was a faint damp-towel odor throughout the changing room. Still, it was an Onsen with excellent water temperature—neither too hot nor too lukewarm—ideal for soaking for a long time. The breakfast and dinner buffets offered plenty of variety and tasted great. With easy access as well, I’d like to consider this Accommodation again when there’s another astronomy event nearby.

    This Hotel is surrounded by nature and offers a very relaxing stay.

    Surrounded by mountains, this Hotel is quiet and offers a relaxing, unhurried stay. At the front desk, you can borrow items such as soccer balls and badminton equipment. In summer, the indoor pool is also available, making it a comfortable choice for families with children to enjoy with peace of mind. The buffet felt slightly limited in variety, but everything tasted great and I went back for seconds several times. Depending on the season, there are also dishes featuring crab or abalone, giving the impression that guests of all ages can enjoy it. One small point to note is the shop: while there is a wide selection of souvenirs, there are fewer options for snacks and alcohol. You may want to buy those in advance at a convenience store or supermarket on the way. Also, because the building uses centralized air conditioning, there are no individual air conditioners in each Room. If you are sensitive to temperature changes, bringing lighter or warmer clothing may help you stay more comfortable.

    Poor manners of some Taiwanese guests

    The room did not have a refrigerator, only a cooler, and the cooler was broken. As a result, we had to change rooms. The meals were buffet-style, but when we arrived at the start time, a group of Taiwanese guests was already there. They cut in line and rushed for food, making it difficult to proceed or get enough food. This resulted in the most unsatisfactory meal experience ever. Out of all the accommodations I have stayed at so far, this was the worst experience. Even the hotel staff seemed surprised by this situation. Considering their poor manners, I suspected that these Taiwanese guests might not even wash their bodies before entering the bath and felt too uneasy to use the public bathhouse myself. Despite coming to an onsen destination, I ended up using only the private bath in my room and paying just for admission fees without enjoying it fully—this was extremely disappointing. I had hoped to relieve daily stress through onsen bathing and meals but ended up with a regretful trip instead.

    Surrounded by greenery, it was truly relaxing.

    Located near Kannabe Highlands, the Hotel is surrounded by greenery, offering a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. The Room provided on the top floor was peaceful and comfortable. The meals had a sufficient variety, and every dish was delicious.

    Family Trip

    2 nights, 3 days stay. Our first hotel stay with children. We were soothed by the beautiful pool with a heated jacuzzi and stunning views. The hotel's grass sliding, ball games, and frisbee were so much fun. The buffet meals were delicious, including tempura, roast beef, crab, shrimp, and more. Since it was a hot season, the ice cream was also delightful. It was a quiet day with few guests, so we had the pool and onsen almost to ourselves—a truly luxurious experience. The garden was well-maintained with beautiful blue hydrangeas. We used the laundry facilities with detergent provided multiple times—it was very convenient! All of the hotel staff were kind and attentive; their hospitality made our stay wonderful. We would love to stay here again if we have another opportunity!

    Stayed in celebration of the 30th anniversary.

    Thank you very much for the luxurious Japanese sake as a commemorative gift for your 30th anniversary. The dinner was a buffet, and we enjoyed a unique meal with an abundance of seafood. Having stayed here several times, I have noticed that the facilities are gradually aging. For instance, the peeling paint on drawers and furnishings has become noticeable, so some maintenance might be beneficial. Additionally, while it may be due to the highland location, the water pressure from the faucet is very low, which can be inconvenient. I forgot to mention upon departure that the table light in Room 517 was broken and in a dangerous condition; it would be best to repair it promptly. As I use this Hotel every time I visit Tajima, I wish for its continued development into an even more fulfilling destination.

    We visited to celebrate our daughter's school admission.

    We stayed here to let our daughter, who loves crab, try Kasumi Crab. Our daughter seemed to enjoy the Kasumi Crab as well! Thank you very much. Although it was drizzling and the weather wasn't great, we were still able to relax and enjoy the open-air bath. Thank you very much. The lighting in the Room felt a bit dim; it might have been better if it were slightly brighter. It turned out to be a wonderful trip. Thank you very much.

    Skiing with my son and his friends

    The buffet was very delicious, and I slept well. The Onsen is old, but the open-air bath was very nice. I would like to come again with my wife.

    I was able to spend my time leisurely.

    I stayed for two nights. The Room was spacious and comfortable, and the bath was really pleasant. I wanted to enjoy the snow, but it was a bit disappointing as the temperature didn't drop. I had such a pleasant stay that I would like to visit again in the summer.

    After the typhoon!

    I stayed on September 1st, right after the typhoon had passed! There were only five guests in total! But since there was a new menu starting today, the head chef enthusiastically prepared the dishes, so we were encouraged to try them! They were delicious! However, the roast beef and tempura were too far away, so I went once and gave up! (laughs) I also enjoyed the breakfast, which was equally delicious! Next time I visit, I hope more people come because it's a bit sad with just five guests.
