    It was absolutely wonderful.

The Room was spacious and well equipped with amenities—truly a first-class Hotel. Breakfast was plentiful and very satisfying. Perks included complimentary drinks in the refrigerator and access to the lounge. Late check-out was extended from 11:00 to 12:00, so we were able to relax and take our time. We would definitely stay again. Thank you for your hospitality.

A Hotel with a Pleasant View

There is also a shuttle bus to and from Sapporo Station, and it was a pleasant Hotel with views of the Toyohira River. We had breakfast at the restaurant on the second floor, where we could also enjoy the scenery, making for a relaxing breakfast and the perfect start to the day. However, in the large public bath, the washing area is directly visible from the bathtub, so I would appreciate it if you could add partitions or adjust the layout.

    Sauna!

When I made the Reservation, I asked whether there was a TV in the sauna room. I was told there isn’t one now, but that one would be installed in May. However, when I arrived and checked, I was told there were no such plans (to install a TV in the sauna). (Stayed May 28.) I also asked for the staff member’s name, so I could write it here, but I will refrain from doing so. Still, it left me wondering why this happened. I confirmed this at the front desk as well, which was disappointing. Everything else was great, so it’s a shame. I will be visiting three more times later this year (August, October, and November), so please make sure it’s properly addressed by then.

    Convenient parking available.

Our family of four adults stayed in one Room with four beds. There are not many Hotels that offer this kind of Room, so it was very helpful. Both the Room and the beds were very spacious, and we could relax comfortably. There is a large public bath, which our family really enjoyed, but perhaps because it closes early, the women’s bath was very crowded near closing time and we couldn’t relax. It would be even better if the closing time were a little later. We came by rental car, and the underground parking was very convenient. This is a Hotel we would like to stay at again.

The Room was spacious and comfortable.

I traveled from Sapporo Station by the Hotel shuttle bus. If the shuttle schedule doesn’t match your timing, getting around can feel inconvenient. I stayed one night in a Deluxe Double Room. At 40 m², it was spacious and very relaxing. I enjoyed the view from the window of the Toyohira River and Mt. Moiwa. The refrigerator cooled well, which was great, and the Wi‑Fi speed was fine. However, the bathroom Facility felt dated, and the bathtub in particular felt small. It was nice to be able to use the large public bath and sauna. It was also great that drinks were free in the status lounge; from 4:00 p.m., I could enjoy draft beer and snacks. Breakfast was available from 6:00 a.m., which was convenient. The roast pork, shumai dumplings, pho, and spicy curry were delicious. There were white and red wines as well, so I could enjoy them in the morning; personally, I would have liked sparkling wine too. The desserts were small portions, which made it easy to try many different kinds. For lunch, I visited Mirika (Chinese restaurant) on the 3rd floor. There were reasonably priced lunch options with good flavor and generous portions, so I was satisfied. I think it would be nice if there were an Accommodation Plan that includes dinner. After checkout, since the shuttle time didn’t work for me, I walked to Susukino instead. The sidewalks were uneven pavement-wise, so walking with a suitcase was difficult. Even if it requires Reservation only by request/booking ahead is fine—having more frequent shuttle buses would be helpful.

This Hotel has truly smart staff.

The service from staff in every position was outstanding. Last year, I stayed for the first time in 10 years and received excellent service, so I chose to stay again this time. I had a lot of luggage and it was a bit challenging, but you handled everything and it truly helped me. I think the staff’s professionalism is top-notch. The toilet’s bidet nozzle stayed extended, which made it a little difficult to use. I will stay again.

    A bit disappointing.

The front desk service was very disappointing. The breakfast venue and housekeeping staff were as pleasant as always.

A Japanese-style room is the right choice.

Traveling with a 4-year-old, the two connected Japanese-style rooms were very comfortable. It was the right choice because our child could play and we had plenty of space to spread out our luggage. The Hotel is a bit old and I wouldn’t say the Facility is excellent, but the price was reasonable and it worked well for us. You can feel its age somewhat, but it was nice that there is a large public bath. We had dinner at the Hotel’s Chinese restaurant, and it was authentic and very delicious. The breakfast buffet also had a wide variety of dishes and was good. It was disappointing that a group of men in the next room were noisy late into the night.

This hotel offers exceptional hospitality. All the staff were excellent. The Sapporo Classic Beer (enjoyed on the 10th floor) felt superior in both temperature and taste compared to beers at other places. From now on, this will be my go-to accommodation in Sapporo. Thank you very much!

It was a calm and relaxing Hotel.

I had a Multiple Night Stay. The free parking benefit for Diamond members was very helpful. The staff were very attentive and provided excellent service. There is a coin laundry and convenience store within walking distance, and an airport bus stop right in front, making it very convenient. The Room was spacious, and the underground parking is also convenient for ski trips using a rental car.

    The hotel was family-friendly.

We stayed for two nights with our children. The Hotel provided a baby crib and amenities for kids, and the Room was spacious, allowing the children to relax comfortably. The Hotel staff were very kind and informed us about a nearby fireworks festival, which we enjoyed as a family. When one of our children fell ill during the stay and accidentally soiled the bedding, we contacted the front desk, and they promptly came to replace the sheets, which was very helpful. The breakfast buffet was delicious. When my husband and I took turns going to eat, one time I went alone holding our younger child, and a staff member kindly guided me to a quieter restaurant area since there were many group guests—this thoughtful gesture was greatly appreciated. We would love to stay here again when visiting Sapporo. Thank you!

A wonderful Hotel where the spirit of Japanese hospitality is evident throughout.

I stayed for two nights in Sapporo on a business trip. Despite a large event and many international groups staying at the Hotel, the staff at the front desk, entrance, housekeeping, and restaurant were all incredibly kind, calm, and provided elegant service. I was able to relax and enjoy my stay thoroughly. When I accidentally soiled a towel and Room wear due to an incident, they promptly cleaned them with no hesitation, which gave me great peace of mind. I truly appreciate their assistance. While many hotels now have numerous foreign staff members, this Hotel had mostly Japanese staff as far as I observed during my stay, including many young employees. The cleanliness of the Room was excellent and made for a very comfortable experience. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options; at the Japanese restaurant in particular, I enjoyed dishes that highlighted delicious ingredients. This is truly an exceptional Hotel!

It seems likely to become my regular accommodation.

This was my first time staying at this hotel, away from the Susukino area. The deciding factors were the underground parking, the sauna, and the fact that a taxi ride to Susukino would only cost about one meter. The result? Completely satisfied! As mentioned in reviews, there is some aging in the facility, but the room I reserved was spacious and stress-free during my stay. Most importantly, the sauna attached to the gym inside was spacious and extremely relaxing. I visited Hokkaido for golf this time, and after playing, I could refresh myself and fully enjoy Susukino with a clear mind. However, please note that you cannot move around in indoor wear when using the gym sauna (located on 4F), so it’s recommended to bring sweatpants or a T-shirt if you plan to use it. It was an excellent hotel worth repeating next time!

I used the service again after a long time. The Room is as spacious and comfortable as ever. The staff, including those at the front desk, provided excellent service—polite, appropriate, and not overly formal—making for a pleasant stay. The public bath was clean and enjoyable; however, the stairs were slightly inconvenient, though I understand it might be due to structural reasons. I was able to fully relax in both the Club Lounge and other facilities.

Stayed for 4 nights, but the Room and other Hotel Facilities were old and dirty. After cleaning, I returned to the Room twice to find insects inside. The amenities did not include lotion, emulsion, or makeup remover, and when I asked at the front desk, they said they were not provided. This was my first experience staying at a Hotel of this class without such basic amenities. Additionally, when I called the front desk asking for toothpicks, they claimed there were none available. When I questioned why there weren’t any despite having a restaurant on-site, they insisted that packaged toothpicks were unavailable. However, later in the lounge area, packaged toothpicks were indeed provided. I believe simple lies can greatly damage trust in the hospitality industry. It seems managing operations under a real estate company (Ken Corporation) still has significant challenges ahead.

    A blissful moment.

A high-quality and luxurious Hotel since the Ramada Renaissance era. Enjoying a delicious Sapporo Classic beer while admiring the view from the 10th-floor lounge in the evening was exceptional. The bath and sauna were also excellent.

Japanese-style room with a traditional Japanese dinner, offering a serene and relaxing experience!

We stayed as a family. Since we had children with us, the wooden bath in the Japanese-style room was very relaxing and allowed us to unwind comfortably. Additionally, we enjoyed a delicious and pleasant time at the Japanese restaurant inside the accommodation so much that we forgot to use the 1,000 yen discount coupon given at check-in. Many thanks to all the staff! Thank you very much.

    Hidden Gem Hotel

It was my first stay, but I had a very comfortable experience. When it first opened decades ago, it was a luxury hotel and not an easy place to stay casually. However, as I was looking for accommodation on short notice this time, I found that it was available at a reasonable price and decided to stay. While there were signs of aging in the elevator and plumbing, the shower water pressure was strong enough, so there were no inconveniences. The luxurious design reminiscent of the bubble era added charm, the room was spacious, breakfast delicious, and the service attentive. It would be even more convenient if there were more shuttle service options from Sapporo Station. If given another opportunity, I would like to stay again.

    Excellent

The hospitality and service at the Hotel were perfect in every aspect. If I may be a little picky, there was a machine out of order in the fitness area, and I would appreciate more attention to the large public bath and sauna. If I visit Sapporo again, my only choice will be Premium Hotel Tsubaki.

    I'm sorry...

Regarding the unpleasant payment issue at check-in, the female staff kindly apologized in writing, so that's fine. I won't write about it here. The second unpleasant experience was when I received an in-house restaurant voucher as an IKYU Diamond benefit and used it. I wanted to have dinner in the Room because going out at night was troublesome, so I used the takeout service at the Chinese restaurant. When I went directly to the restaurant to order, I was told at the entrance that they wouldn't take orders because it was before business hours (about 15 minutes before opening at that time). Having no choice, I returned to the Room and tried to call the restaurant from the Room's phone, but it didn't connect (the number in the Room's guide was incorrect). I had the front desk connect me, and when I finally placed an order, I was told to "come back in ~ minutes." When I went as instructed, a different dish from what I ordered was prepared, and I was told, "We'll make the correct one, so please come back later." Reluctantly, I returned to the Room and went to the restaurant for the third time, paid, and came back. The food was very delicious and satisfying (truly delicious), but when I looked at the receipt, the charge was incorrect. It was clearly wrong compared to the menu in the Room. Having already lost trust in the overall operation of this Hotel, I explained the charge to the front desk over the phone. Then, the male front desk staff interrupted me and insisted that it was a restaurant issue and to tell the restaurant! So, I called the restaurant myself. After that, for some reason, the front desk staff called and told me that since I paid by card, I should go to the restaurant myself and redo the card payment. Later, the Chinese restaurant's mistaken female staff and the person in charge properly acknowledged the mistake and came to the Room to sincerely apologize, which I accepted. However, I felt no sense from the male front desk staff that "what happens within Tsubaki Hotel is the responsibility of the entire Hotel, so let's interact with customers without being a vertically divided organization." It was as if matters of other departments were not their concern. It was a way of speaking that suggested they didn't need to consider the customer's perspective. I wrote my opinion to the front desk staff, thinking I never want to meet anyone other than the wonderful female staff at the breakfast buffet venue again.

I stayed here for the Chinese restaurant. Perhaps my expectations were too high, as the food was ordinary, and the room and service were extremely ordinary, to be honest, I was a little disappointed. The construction was probably expensive when it was first built, but the cleaning is not thorough, and the interior has become somewhat outdated. The response is like a business hotel (the coordination between the restaurant and the front desk is not smooth, and they ask you to bring your luggage directly to the front desk for shipping), giving the impression of a hotel catering to foreign guests at first glance. However, if you only use the restaurant, the prices are reasonable and the service is good, so I recommend it.

    It was excellent service.

I was delighted and moved by the presence of the staff at the breakfast venue. Nowadays, such staff are rare, but there was a female staff member who perfectly embodied the basic awareness of work, such as "Let's enjoy a wonderful meal," "What does the customer want," "What is my duty in this restaurant," and "What should I do next to make things go smoothly here." This greatly improved my impression of Tsubaki Hotel. I was debating whether the breakfast venue should be by the river or on the park side, but decided on the riverside and went to the riverside venue around 8:20 AM on November 24th. When I told the female staff at the entrance, "I prefer a window seat," she said, "Unfortunately, the window seats are full." So I said, "Then I'll go to the other venue." Immediately, she told me to wait as she would check by phone if a window seat was available at the other venue. Thanks to this quick-witted action, I said, "Oh, I'll stay at this venue after all." In the end, she introduced me to a good seat, not by the window, but still a wonderful spot. The female staff member's spoken language was excellent (neither drawn-out nor using trendy words), she immediately understood my questions and responded promptly. This is what I believe to be communication skills. Moreover, the speed of conversation and movement was appropriate, never sluggish. Therefore, there was no waste in conversations with all the guests on the floor, managing the dishes, and guiding to seats, creating a truly pleasant floor space. She also understood very well who was more important in this floor, the other male staff or the guests. In a bad workplace, sometimes more attention is paid to colleagues or superiors than to customers, but she was the complete opposite. This was evident in her walking path, the order of exchanging words, the way she passed by, and how she gave instructions. It's rare for me to do so, but I asked for her name and thanked her before leaving the venue. It was a truly wonderful breakfast, and I am talking with my family about wanting to revisit if this staff member is there! There was this woman named Ms. M and another female staff member at the venue, and the demeanor of the other person was also consistently excellent. These two female staff members have raised the evaluation of Tsubaki Hotel.

    First Sauna Experience

I have been staying here every year for the past few years, but this was my first time using the sauna. The large bath is designed for gym users, but the sauna was spacious and very comfortable. Next time I stay, I would like to use the clean gym as well. Thank you very much!

I think it is a very good Hotel. The meals were delicious.

I visited because I heard there was a spacious Japanese-style Room. I didn't know there was a Hotel in Sapporo with an 80 square meter Japanese-style Room. Since it is a large Hotel that also hosts weddings, the lobby and interior have a luxurious atmosphere. The Room was very well cleaned, and I felt safe staying there! I had Japanese and Chinese (takeout) meals, and both were very delicious. The Chinese food seemed particularly popular and was bustling. There is no shop, but there is a Lawson across the road, and there were vending machines inside the Hotel. One thing I found strange was that upon arrival, I was carrying a 2-3 year old child while holding bags and walking unsteadily with my spouse, but the staff did not offer help. A tall gentleman guided us all the way to the front desk but did not carry our luggage. I was honestly a bit surprised, but since he wasn't dressed as a porter, I thought maybe there was a shortage of staff, or perhaps it's a Hotel without porters? I guessed that maybe they don't have porters because it would be endless if they carried luggage for inbound tour guests. It might be more recommended for couples or women's trips than for families, but I feel that a Hotel with clean Rooms, a beautiful interior, and delicious food is precious. I think it's a very good Hotel.

The food was delicious and I was very satisfied.

Stayed for four consecutive nights in a superior twin room with free parking and breakfast. The underground parking is reassuring even on rainy days. The breakfast was very delicious and highly satisfying. Recently, a large public bath with a sauna has been added, allowing guests to relieve travel fatigue. The room was spacious and allowed for a relaxing stay. There is a coin laundry near the hotel, but if I may be greedy, it would be perfect if a coin laundry could be installed within the hotel, and I hope this will be considered. I would like to use this hotel again on my next stay in Sapporo.
