    The Perfect Secluded Accommodation

I had such a wonderful impression when I stayed here before that this is my second visit. From the welcome sweets to the Japanese-Western fusion dinner and the hearty breakfast, everything was delicious. All meals were brought to our Room, so there was no need to change clothes, and we could relax completely. I also appreciated that when I informed them in advance about ingredients I can’t eat, they accommodated me properly. During our 3-day/2-night stay, all of the staff took great care of us. I had the chance to speak with five staff members, and every one of them provided excellent service! They were polite and warm, and I truly felt well looked after. The only thing I noticed was that the shower drainage was a little slow. Even so, overall it was a lovely Accommodation where we felt very comfortable. Taking an open-air bath early in the morning while listening to bush warblers singing was an unforgettable experience. I’d love to visit again in a different season.

I stayed here to refresh. All the furniture and decor in the Room were lovely. The open-air bath was at just the right temperature, and I was able to see beautiful stars that night. The in-room dining was excellent, especially the sashimi, which was fresh and delicious. Also, I was quietly happy that the bottled water in the Room was a larger 2L size. The staff were very kind, and I’m glad I chose this Hotel. I’d love to stay again.

We had a relaxing two-night stay.

We were completely satisfied with everything—the service, the food, and the Room. Over two nights we met about six staff members, and everyone was cheerful and provided courteous service with just the right sense of distance. They responded immediately from dinner on the first night regarding my dominant hand; I have stayed at many Hotels and Ryokans, but this is only the second place that has done so. It may seem like a small thing, but when it’s handled properly, it greatly increases trust in and appreciation for an Accommodation. The food—meat, fish, vegetables, rice—was all delicious, but the sauces and dashi broth in particular were truly outstanding. I love baths and I’m a short sleeper, so I went to bathe every time I woke up from night to morning, and the water temperature was kept pleasantly warm at all hours. Also, thanks to adjusting our Room for us, we were able to fully enjoy the private open-air bath without worrying about the rain—thank you very much. This time we didn’t get to try the fruit jelly often seen in photos of Kaede-an, so we’d like to stay again in a different season as something to look forward to next time.

Enjoy delicious meals and relax in the Onsen in your Room

Under the IKYU Plan, dinner is listed as being served at the restaurant and breakfast in the Room, but both meals were actually served in the Room. Dinner was a Japanese-Western fusion full-course meal, and everything was delicious. We were able to relax in our Room and enjoy a wonderful time. The in-room Onsen is not free-flowing from the source, but it was always at a comfortable temperature and ready to use at any time, which made it very relaxing. The staff were excellent as well—this was a great Accommodation that we would love to visit again.

    Perfect for spending time alone.

This was my first stay, and it is an outstanding Hotel in every way—Room, private open-air bath, meals, and the staff’s service. You can use the in-room open-air bath anytime, and the temperature can be adjusted upon request at the front desk. The view is also amazing. Meals are served in your Room, and each dish is delivered with an explanation from the staff. The fish dishes, meat dishes, and desserts were all excellent. The Room is not adjacent to other rooms, so you can’t hear any voices—perfect for spending time alone. I would love to stay again.

Recommended for travelers who don’t want to compromise on their Izu accommodation.

Izu has many high-end luxury Hotels and Ryokan, where great food and lavish Facilities can help you truly unwind. However, some Accommodations can be a bit disappointing due to service, which can dampen your mood. Here, you’ll be welcomed warmly in a way that makes the fatigue of driving melt away, and the attentive service—at just the right distance—lets you enjoy a consistently comfortable stay. The in-Room Onsen is a pleasant size and temperature, and you may even spot squirrels and small birds. The Room is not large or particularly stylish, but it is clean, compact, well equipped with everything you need, and easy to use. The meals are mainly Western-style, but items like sashimi are also delicious, and the variety of small portions leaves you feeling satisfied. It may not be flashy or glamorous, but if you don’t want any unpleasant experiences at your Accommodation, want a reliable choice you won’t regret, and want your whole trip to feel comfortable from start to finish, this is an Accommodation I would recommend.

I was able to enjoy a comfortable solo trip in Izu!

I was looking for an Onsen Accommodation that’s easy to reach by car from Tokyo, and I stayed here. What impressed me most was the hospitality of all the staff. From the welcome drink on arrival to the service at dinner and breakfast, they were consistently attentive and considerate, which left a great impression. As a solo traveler I had some concerns, but I was able to spend my time very comfortably. By the way, it didn’t seem heavily promoted, but I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the meals were! The beef tenderloin grilled on a ceramic plate was excellent quality, and the sashimi was very fresh—I could even enjoy it as ochazuke. The sparkling wine included as a Diamond member benefit was also delicious, and I ended up drinking more than I expected... The open-air bath while looking up at a sky full of stars was amazing. When I visit Izu again, I would definitely like to stay here again! Thank you very much.

    It was incredibly relaxing!

Thank you for taking care of us during our 2-night, 3-day stay. Our expectations were at MAX because of the great Reviews, but we had an even more enjoyable time than that. The meals were wonderful—especially the teppanyaki-style beef tenderloin on a ceramic plate and the rice cooked in a kama pot. For a Multiple Night Stay, the menu was perfectly changed over the two days. I’m sure it was a lot of work for the chef, but everything was delicious. Thank you very much. Both the Room and the bath were great, but above all, the hospitality was outstanding! They checked in on us about the temperature of the open-air bath in our Room (it can be adjusted at the front desk), and we also enjoyed chatting with the staff who brought our dinner. We’re so glad we found this wonderful Accommodation. We will definitely come again to enjoy your delicious food and see your lovely staff.

A Perfect British Inn for a Cozy Stay

This is my second stay this year for a solo trip. The room with a lovely antique bed provided an incredibly relaxing and comfortable space. I loved being able to enjoy the bath anytime as much as I wanted, and having meals in the room at my own pace was a delightful point for solo travelers. Surrounded by lamps, stained glass, and elegant furnishings, I spent the night leisurely reading a book. This experience was so irresistible that I found myself coming back again. The weather was pleasant this season, so on my way back, I decided to walk to Izukogen Station since it’s downhill—it took 35 minutes. I look forward to staying here again!

    A Couple's Trip to Ito

We stayed here for a short trip as a couple. It felt like revisiting a cottage we once stayed at in England. The meals delivered to our Room, both breakfast and dinner, were all delicious, and the staff made the experience even more enjoyable with their friendly conversations. We had a very warm and homely time. Thank you very much!

It was the ultimate relaxing experience!

The private open-air bath in the room was incredibly beautiful, and the view from the bath was stunning! On clear days, you could even see islands floating on the sea. If needed, staff can adjust the bath temperature upon request. The meals were absolutely delicious. While Western cuisine is the base, they also serve fresh sashimi caught that day at Ito Port, offering a luxurious fusion of Japanese and Western styles. Both taste and presentation were truly satisfying! Additionally, thoughtful touches like afternoon snacks or jelly after a bath made our stay feel extra special and filled with happiness throughout. This is such a wonderful accommodation that I definitely want to visit again!

It was disappointing that there was no coffee or tea at the end of dinner. Other than that, the cost performance was great.

    Is this what accommo...

Is this what accommodation in Izu is like? As someone from the Tohoku region, I was amazed. The most memorable experiences were: ① The cherry blossoms served as a garnish during dinner. When asked, they said it was from the cherry trees around the accommodation. Although my trip to see the cherry blossoms in Kawazu Town didn’t go as planned, I unexpectedly encountered the scent of spring here. The proximity to cherry blossom fragrance made me envious, but it was delightful. ② The breakfast buns. Having only experienced Japanese-style breakfasts at accommodations before, these were delicious and plentiful. ③ After a steep uphill ride from Izukogen Station (by taxi), I arrived at a place where you can see Izu Oshima Island? In February, waking up to birdsong in the morning was refreshing and pleasant!

Accommodation for a Tranquil British Time

A private and serene stay with a warm and thoughtful touch throughout. While some areas show their age, the ambiance complements the antique furniture beautifully. Though I took a taxi from Izukogen Station, staff kindly came out to greet me at the car upon arrival. My reservation was for a double room, but they upgraded me to a twin room with a great view. A welcome drink of my choice was delivered as a cocktail to my room. The spacious room featured stained glass bay windows, antique furniture, wallpaper, fabrics, and lamps that created an elegant British atmosphere. This accommodation offers rooms with open-air baths; mine was set at 41°C—perfect for long soaks—and adjustable if needed. Both dinner and breakfast were served in-room, making it very relaxing without needing to move around. The table was elegantly set with linens for a fusion course meal featuring fresh seafood from Izu. Each dish was carefully prepared and served hot (or cold) one by one—a remarkable effort by the staff considering it’s all brought directly to your room! Although I made my reservation just before becoming an IKYU Diamond Member, they generously provided half a bottle of champagne as service. The kamameshi rice pot and miso soup were delightful; leftovers were even made into onigiri rice balls for me! Breakfast included two small burgers on an artful plate alongside honey yogurt and delicious hot coffee served in authentic silver pots. I also enjoyed an in-room massage using oils infused with scents like locally sourced kuromoji from Izu—chosen based on personal preference. The cozy atmosphere allowed me to relax completely while finishing the book I'd brought along. With uninterrupted views of the ocean from my open-air bath anytime I wished, this trip became the perfect "Clear Solo Journey." If there’s one suggestion: having shuttle service from the station would be helpful since taxis can be hard to find at times. I look forward to visiting again for another taste of British charm!

    An accommodation wit...

An accommodation with antique furniture. Stayed for the onsen open-air bath, which was spacious and allowed for a relaxing soak. The water temperature is always adjusted, so it’s never lukewarm. If you want to change the temperature, contact the front desk. Since you can enter the onsen anytime you feel like it, I bathed about five times. Fresh water is constantly added in small amounts. While the view isn’t great, you can catch a glimpse of the distant sea through gaps. If you prefer an open-air bath with a better view, reserving a sea-facing room is recommended. The shower area with washing facilities is located indoors. Be cautious when using the shower as there’s no proper barrier between the indoor bath and washroom; otherwise, water may splash into the washroom area and make it wet. It’s better to use the shower while standing inside the indoor bathtub itself. The open-air bath was larger than expected, which was fantastic. A DVD player was set up with our room's TV so we watched "Pinocchio's Adventures," an opera by Dove Productions. However, since both the TV wasn’t very large and there was some distance from our bed to it, viewing wasn’t ideal—though this might be unavoidable as having a bigger TV could disrupt this room's ambiance. Speaking of ambiance—the room itself had such lovely decor that my partner absolutely loved it. Meals were served in-room instead of at their dining hall—likely due to high occupancy during our stay—which I personally would have preferred but understood given circumstances! The food tasted excellent; portions were generous & drink prices reasonable too! As part-of Diamond benefits received complimentary local souvenirs (4 items total)—including Sakura Shrimp Crackers + New Summer Orange Jelly etc., adding luxurious thoughtful touches much appreciated! Overall impression? Truly wonderful accommodation!

A wonderful moment of Japanese-Western fusion. Exceptional satisfaction with included benefits!

We stayed in a double room with an open-air bath as a couple. We were able to spend a fulfilling time that far exceeded our expectations. The view from the open-air bath is wonderful, allowing you to fully enjoy the nature of Izu. You can see many wild birds and Taiwanese squirrels among the trees spread out before you, and you can't help but get absorbed in observing them. The temperature of the bath was just right, allowing for a comfortable long soak. What impressed us even more was the food and drinks. Honestly, I feel that there are not a few auberges in this price range that serve meals that are just safe and lack a theme. In contrast, the meals here were truly a fusion of Japanese and Western styles, allowing us to enjoy local ingredients in a stylish and light manner. The hors d'oeuvres like a Western-style osechi, the satisfying teppanyaki like a steak, the clean sashimi and soup, each dish left an impression. I heard that the chef has extensive experience in Japanese cuisine and has done a lot of research to work here. The sparkling wine, a Diamond Member benefit, was so tasteful that it felt almost wrong to receive it for free. Many of the wines were full bottles priced between 3,000 to 5,000 yen, which is a delight for drinkers. The service was also impeccable. Although it was a room dinner, the timing of the serving was so perfect that it made us suspect the presence of surveillance cameras. The conversations interspersed when explaining the dishes and serving drinks were pleasant, allowing us to enjoy the meal even more. At breakfast, we were told interesting anecdotes about nearby tourist spots. We would like to visit again in a different season.

A hotel with excellent service and meals.

It was my first time staying at this inn, and first of all, the food!! It has a Western feel, yet it uses plenty of Izu's delicacies, making it so delicious that I wanted seconds. The hot sandwiches for breakfast were also delicious. I was really grateful to have the meals prepared in the room. The room had a cute antique feel, and not only was it cute, but the open-air hot spring bath in the room was great!! I would love to visit again.
