    Just an old Hotel.

    I chose this Hotel because it had high ratings, but after looking more closely, it seems the character-themed Rooms for children are what make it popular. - Both the Room and the Facility felt old, and there was a damp smell coming from the air conditioner filter. - Unless you insert the key card, all power in the Room turns off (so when you return after going out, the Room is unusually hot). - I expected a nice night view, but the window was much smaller than I imagined and the view was quite disappointing. - This has been very critical so far, but the breakfast buffet was excellent—lots of variety and very tasty (surprisingly good for this Hotel’s price range).

    The buffet selection is excellent.

    The buffet offered a wide variety of desserts, and I was especially impressed by the cakes priced at 1,000 yen and the 800-yen pudding—loaded with fruit and incredibly delicious. The meals were also excellent, with freshly grilled eel and tender, tasty meat. Great value for money. This was my second stay, and I recommend making a Reservation with the two-meal Plan.

    Wonderful Breakfast

    Above all, the breakfast was excellent. The staff were also very helpful. The Room was a twin, with a large bathtub and a nice separate shower booth. However, perhaps because the walls are thin, the sound of the neighboring Room’s door opening and closing was loud. It made me wonder if conversations could be heard as well, which is why I gave the rating above.

    Comfortable

    We were fortunate to have great weather, and we were soothed by the view from the window in our high-floor Room with a wonderful outlook. The Room was clean, the amenities were well stocked, and the staff were kind, so we had a very comfortable stay. We also enjoyed the projection mapping displayed on the Hotel’s exterior.

    Breakfast Buffet

    I enjoyed the breakfast items such as Akashiyaki, sukiyaki, and Chikuzen-ni. However, it was disappointing that the machine coffee was lukewarm. Being able to cut and eat hydroponically grown lettuce myself was the best treat of all. It would have been perfect if there had been soft-serve ice cream.

    Overall, I’m satisfied, but…

    Thank you for your hospitality. The meals were excellent, and the Room was great. The staff’s service was also very good. However, what was quite disappointing was that the Wi‑Fi signal was very weak and almost unusable. Perhaps it’s hard to notice if the staff aren’t using it? As a result, although I stayed in early in the month, my phone data speed limit kicked in by the 15th, and I’ve been struggling with it all the way until the end of the month. (I usually experience speed limits for about five days at the end of each month.) I would like to stay again, so I hope this point can be improved.

    Standard Hotel

    It was an average Hotel—neither particularly good nor bad. One inconvenience was that I’m a smoker, but there was no designated smoking room or area, so I had to go to a commercial building near the station, which was very inconvenient. (In the end, there seemed to be a small spot in the corner of a terrace used for garden weddings, but it didn’t appear to be intended for guests.) It’s not suitable for smokers like me, and I don’t think I’ll stay again.

    Very disappointing. ...

    Very disappointing. First, the entrance was hard to find; I initially passed it by. I knew the building was old when booking, but it wasn’t clean. I specifically chose a room with a shower booth, but the booth was dirty—water stains, mold, and traces of water droplets from previous guests were still visible. It made me question if I could even get clean using it. Additionally, there were students (possibly on a school trip), making it noisy even inside the room. Basic amenities like notepads and pens commonly found in hotels were missing. The walls seemed thin as I could hear conversations and toilet sounds from neighboring rooms. It made me wonder why I chose to stay here in the first place. Breakfast was decent at best, but that’s about it. It wasn’t particularly cheap either; access required transfers, and there weren’t any notable tourist facilities nearby. I will never return again.

    First of all, the facility itself is very old. When I was handed the room key, it was a regular key instead of a card, which gave me an inkling... Upon entering the room, I noticed that the sofa was torn, and the bathtub appeared more yellowed than in the photos, giving the impression that older items have been in use for a long time. I stayed in a room with separate toilet and bath this time, but even the toilet area felt aged and had hair on the floor. One of the bedside lights did not turn on for some reason—it seemed like its bulb had burned out. There was also hair on the table. This is just my personal opinion, but I recommend reading not only positive reviews but also less favorable ones to ensure you choose an accommodation you are comfortable with before making your reservation!

    This was my first stay. The room was impeccably clean, especially the bathroom and sink area, with even the faucets sparkling! Thanks to this, I had a very pleasant stay. I will definitely choose this accommodation again when visiting Kobe.

    The Perfect Getaway

    I stayed at this hotel for a trip to Kobe. I checked in at 8:00 PM and chose the No Meals Included Plan, but since it was a room with a view bath, I enjoyed the scenery while taking baths twice, in the morning and evening. At KARIN on the reception floor, I had cake, pudding, and tea. Despite my short stay, I had a wonderful time. Amenities are selected on the reception floor and brought to your room yourself; however, there was no mention of this during check-in, so I forgot to take them. The variety of amenities and tea packs available was excellent. Both the staff's response over the phone beforehand and their service on the day were very kind and attentive. Thank you very much!

    Great view

    I had a relaxing time in a room with a great view. The previous day, I stayed in a lounge access room next door, but considering the view and price of this room, I think this one might be better. I look forward to staying again if I have the chance. Thank you very much.

    Comfortable 2 Days

    The service was pleasant, and I had a great night's sleep in the comfortable room. I stay at this hotel every year without fail. The breakfast is delicious, and a multiple night stay is ideal (haha). Thank you again this year!

    Noise during late night and issues with front desk service at checkout

    The room was cute and clean, which was great, but the noise from other guests at night was unbearable. It started around 9 PM with loud banging noises. I tried to endure it since it wasn’t too late yet, but after two hours with no change, I asked the front desk to check on it. It wasn’t just footsteps; it felt like someone was jumping off something, causing a rumbling sound. Having stayed in various accommodations both domestically and internationally, this was by far the worst noise experience I’ve ever had. Even close to 1 AM, the noise continued. I contacted the front desk again and they said they would patrol upstairs as well since it might not be from next door but above my room instead. While I understand that it's difficult for hotels to predict what kind of guests will stay or take strict actions like banning noisy guests entirely, accommodations have an obligation to ensure quietness at night for their guests’ comfort. Unfortunately, this time I couldn’t sleep until very late into the night due to constant disturbances—loud thuds resembling jumping sounds or doors being slammed even before 4 AM. What disappointed me further was during checkout when a middle-aged Japanese male staff member didn’t acknowledge any inconvenience caused by last night's noise issue—no apology or even a simple “Were you able to rest well afterward?” Instead, he only asked necessary questions like whether we used parking facilities and didn’t say “Thank you” after finishing his inquiries either! Thinking he might still hand over my receipt or something else important while waiting there patiently turned out wrong because he started handling phone calls instead without proper closure such as thanking us properly upon departure—it felt unprofessional for hotel front desk service standards. A simple "Did you rest well?" is common courtesy in most accommodations regardless of issues faced during stays; ignoring such basic hospitality especially when there were significant problems overnight raises concerns about service quality here overall—not saying goodbye properly makes matters worse altogether! On another note though: foreign staff members who assisted during check-in provided excellent service earlier on arrival day which left positive impressions initially despite later disappointments encountered afterward regarding nighttime disruptions unresolved adequately followed up poorly morning interactions thereafter detracting overall satisfaction levels experienced throughout entire stay ultimately affecting willingness return future occasions unless improvements made addressing these shortcomings highlighted herein feedback shared candidly hopes constructive changes implemented moving forward ensuring better guest experiences going ahead subsequently benefiting everyone involved mutually beneficial outcomes achieved collectively together long-term basis sustainably     Commonly Confused Hotel Names in Kobe

    I stayed at Hotel Plaza Kobe this time. However, there is also Kobe Plaza Hotel in front of Motomachi Station. When I entered the destination into the navigation system, it almost directed me to the station area by mistake, but I realized just in time. How confusing! Since this can easily cause mistakes, it would be helpful to include a "notice" during the Reservation process. The Hotel itself is not bad, and I would like to stay again. However, the Room's air conditioning adjustment uses an outdated small dial system that my friend found difficult to figure out. Even when you understand how it works, the dial is so small that it's hard to adjust properly. It's been a while since I've seen such an old-fashioned adjustment system in a Hotel. The parking fee is 1,500 yen per night if you need in-and-out privileges; however, if you don't plan on moving your car and are okay with parking next door instead of at the Hotel lot, there are options for 700 or 800 yen per 24 hours nearby. As for breakfast priced at 3,000 yen—I'll have to imagine how amazing it must be since it's beyond our budget!

    The breakfast is excellent.

    Used by 4 people. The faucet made a squeaky noise, which was a bit annoying. The Facility might be old. The bed with Nishikawa mattress was very comfortable to sleep on. Breakfast was excellent. We stayed here after visiting the Expo, and the location was convenient. There were leisure facilities inside the building, and our grandchild had a great time playing there.

    Interaction Between Kids and Seniors

    We stayed as two families. The nearby play area and bouncy attractions were very enjoyable. For dinner and breakfast, we were accommodated in a separate Room due to having small children, which was very thoughtful. It felt like a great Hotel for enjoying with two families.

    The sunrise and meals are exceptional.

    I stayed at the accommodation to see the sunrise and enjoy a breakfast that felt more like lunch. Although the weather forecast predicted clouds at the time of reservation, it was sunny on the day. I had an absolutely wonderful morning. After enjoying the sunrise, I headed to breakfast: Whole Awaji onion herb roast, baked grapefruit, SORA-themed menu with SORA curry and jelly, roast beef, my favorite croffle, and plenty of desserts. The room was spacious and comfortable; however, it was a bit disappointing that the large bathtub took a long time to fill with water. I would love to stay again!

    We were able to spend a relaxing time with our family of five.

    We were able to comfortably spend time as a family of five using the connected rooms. Although we only had breakfast, it was nice to enjoy a leisurely meal since it was a weekday. The service of picking and eating hydroponically grown vegetables on the spot was great. There was also a dessert themed after the floor's name, which was impressively elaborate. Inside the integrated building, there was a covered plaza where children could take off their shoes and play, which was great for letting the kids play to their heart's content.

    I was able to relax very much.

    The view from the room was great, and it was spacious enough for two people to relax comfortably. The breakfast offered a variety of dishes, and I was very satisfied. I will use this place again.
