    The Best Stay Experience!

Although it was a stay at the end of summer, it became the perfect finale to our summer vacation. The Accommodation was spotless, the Room was spacious and comfortable, and the view of the Tenryu River from the Room was outstanding. The meals were also highly refined: themed as “Tenryukyo Jukkyō” in connection with “Tenryukyo Tokachi,” they offered a richly satisfying course in both quality and quantity—from soba at the start to grilled eggplant, snow trout sashimi, broiled carp kabayaki, ayu sweetfish, filet meat, and shiso sorbet. It rained on the day we stayed, but by the next morning it somehow held up, so we took about an hour’s walk along the river before breakfast. The scenery from the suspension bridge is an irreplaceable beauty. I felt this is an Accommodation where everything—the Facility, service, food, and location—is exceptional. Next time I would like to visit during the autumn foliage season.

    It was amazing!

Thank you for everything. The hospitality was outstanding. The meals, in particular, were exceptional, and we enjoyed the many thoughtful touches. Since we arrived a bit late, I wish we had checked in earlier so we could relax and explore the area. I recommend arriving early. At first, it was difficult to connect to the Room Wi-Fi, which was stressful, but I eventually gave up and simply enjoyed the nature and the baths. It made me realize that spending time that way once in a while is nice too. Next time, I would like to visit again in a different season to enjoy the nature and the food.

An Accommodation with Delicious Cuisine and Beautiful Views

From the daybed in our Room, we could see the white rock faces of Tenryukyo Gorge and the green river, and enjoyed a truly luxurious time. Dinner was especially memorable, with each course served to follow the highlights of Tenryukyo Gorge, making it fun to dine while imagining the scenery. Local ingredients such as handmade soba, caviar (the staff explained it is farmed in Iida), and yukimasu trout were beautifully presented and a delight to look at as well. The large public bath has only an indoor bath and is not very spacious, but it also faces Tenryukyo Gorge, so we could see the river from the bath and relax in the Onsen. Thank you very much for a comfortable stay.

    An Accommodation with unforgettable cuisine

Surrounded by the natural beauty of Minami-Shinshu, we were able to spend a relaxing time in a peaceful setting. Most impressive of all was the cuisine. Every dish, made with local ingredients, was carefully prepared and truly moving with each course. We have stayed at many Accommodations while traveling, but this was so wonderful that we would love to come back just for the food. It was a lovely Accommodation that made us want to return in another season. Thank you very much.

A Cozy Retreat You'll Want to Stay In

We chose this as a destination where my pregnant wife and I could spend some quiet time together. In addition to the delicious meals and peaceful setting, the staff treated us with great care, and we were able to truly relax. The place still has an atmosphere that makes you think it may have been a Ryokan from the Showa era that was renovated. The staff’s earnest hospitality also means the service is not necessarily polished down to every detail like a top-class Hotel. But that, combined with cuisine centered on local ingredients, gave us the feeling of returning to a slightly upscale hometown—creating a warm, comfortable stay. Even if something ultra-luxurious were here, it would end up feeling much like anywhere else. In that sense, it also reminded me of how, during the Showa era, regions across The whole country gradually became more alike and lost some of their unique charm. Instead, this lingering sense of “hometown” is exactly what makes it such a wonderful place to unwind slowly. On our way home, I found myself imagining that this might be what Ryokan felt like in an earlier time—when novelists and politicians would retreat and stay in regional inns for extended periods.

I want to come back every year!

In a word: simply the best. From the moment we arrived at the Accommodation, everything was taken care of for us. It was quiet, the food was delicious, and it was truly the perfect Accommodation for a peaceful getaway. We had our meals in the Room, and they were wonderful—the tableware was beautiful as well. We could relax without worrying about anyone around us and enjoy a slow, unhurried stay. The bath in the Room was spacious for one person, amenities were well stocked, and the bed was so comfortable... all my everyday fatigue completely melted away. We’ll be back!

    The food is excellent.

I stayed during the cold season in February, and the temperature control throughout the Room, toilets, and entire building was excellent. It’s rare to find an Accommodation managed to this level. I could really feel the care that went into designing and renovating the Accommodation down to every detail. The cuisine skillfully incorporated ingredients from Nagano Prefecture, and both the presentation and flavor were full of “Wow!” moments—surprising and impressive. The seasoning was also gentle enough for older guests, which was wonderful. When serving these outstanding dishes, I wished the service staff understood them a bit more. I tend to assume it’s natural for them to know what ingredients are in each dish and what they are serving, and because the food quality is so high, it felt like a missed opportunity. That said, thanks to some very knowledgeable staff members, we were able to enjoy our meal pleasantly and comfortably. There were truly excellent servers as well, for which I’m very grateful. The large public bath is a little small, but the Onsen water was excellent. It warmed me through to my core and left my skin smooth. The in-room bath takes a little time to fill, but it had a lovely atmosphere and was very enjoyable. This was a wonderful Accommodation in Iida City that I can confidently recommend to friends.

Accommodation of Fine Cuisine and Serenity

The view from the room during this peak autumn foliage season is stunning, and the accommodation is located in a uniquely tranquil setting. The staff provides kind and attentive service, making for a pleasant stay. Above all, the creative dishes were incredibly delicious, offering pure bliss and unparalleled happiness. The handmade soba noodles, salmon, and beef by the head chef were exceptional. I loved the amenities so much that I purchased some but regret not buying more.

    We had a wonderful vacation.

Thank you for your hospitality during our stay. Since we usually can't take much time off, our goal this time was to relax at the accommodation rather than sightseeing. The staff were very attentive, and the facility was well-maintained, making our stay very pleasant. The Onsen in the room was excellent, and we thoroughly enjoyed the meals. We were also pleased that breakfast was served in the dining area instead of in the room as initially planned. If I had to mention one downside, it would be that WiFi connectivity in the room wasn't very strong. However, overall it was a wonderful trip. Thank you very much!

    The meals are excellent!!

The dinner was absolutely exceptional. Unlike typical meals at Onsen accommodations, each dish was meticulously prepared with great care, offering both stunning presentation and exquisite taste. The sashimi of snow trout was particularly outstanding, rich in flavor without any unpleasant odor, and the special soy sauce was incredibly delicious. The fillet of South Shinshu beef, slow-cooked for five hours at a low temperature, was astonishingly tender and flavorful, leaving a lasting impression. This cozy and charming accommodation provided a clean and functional room, and the breathtaking view of Tenryu Gorge right in front of us made our stay truly satisfying.

    I want to visit again!

Despite arriving late due to traffic, we were warmly welcomed without any unpleasant reactions. The Room and Facility were all clean, allowing us to relax comfortably. Above all, the meals were incredibly delicious. The course meal included ingredients we had never tried before, making it an exciting experience. Thank you very much!

    Escape from the Urban Hustle

It was a relaxing 2-night, 3-day stay that helped me forget the busy daily routine. The quality of the Onsen water was excellent, and I enjoyed soaking multiple times with fresh bath towels provided. The meals had a distinct Shinshu flavor. At night, I was lucky to gaze at the starry sky, which was truly moving. It was a quiet accommodation, so sounds like footsteps and doors could be heard but were not bothersome. I would love to visit again during the autumn foliage season.

    It was a satisfying accommodation.

I noticed this accommodation while enjoying the Tenryu River boat ride and decided to stay here later. The service, onsen, and meals were very satisfying. However, I was slightly disappointed that the Tenryu River was only partially visible through the trees and leaves from the guest room. The beds were single-sized, and the Wi-Fi connection was not very strong. As for the view from the guest room, it might be excellent during the autumn foliage season.

    It was relaxing.

The rooms with views of the onsen and mountain stream were wonderful, but we were especially impressed by the delicious cuisine that stimulated our senses. We would love to visit this accommodation again.

    Quiet Accommodation

I travel about 4 to 6 times a year and was very much looking forward to this stay due to the high reviews. The location and environment were excellent, allowing for a relaxing stroll through the valley. The accommodation was well-maintained with a sense of cleanliness, and the staff provided courteous service. In the quiet lounge, I enjoyed complimentary herbal tea, which was very soothing. Dinner featured creative cuisine; the main meat dish incorporated an interesting combination with vegetable soup for an enjoyable experience, though personally, I wouldn't feel inclined to have it again. As for breakfast, while I had high expectations, it felt like simple homemade dishes using local ingredients—more like something you'd find at a grandmother's house rather than what you'd expect from a ryokan of this class. The view from the room's private bath and the quality of the hot spring water were outstanding. However, in the public bath area, there wasn't much space between the bathtub and washing area; splashes from others washing were noticeable while soaking in the tub. Overall, it was an accommodation where one could relax and unwind peacefully. Thank you to all staff members!

    Relaxing and Comfortable Accommodation

We enjoyed a peaceful and quiet atmosphere. The food was elaborate and delicious. Since my spouse and I do not drink alcohol, we felt the portion sizes could have been slightly larger.

    Plenty of negative ions

It was a very healing stay, surrounded by the lingering green of the trees and the emerald green of the mountain stream. The room's decor and amenities, which were not at all extravagant but rather filled with "truly comforting, good things" (such as soft pajamas, loungewear, bedding, etc.), were impressive. The bed was so comfortable that I wanted to take it home with me. The dinner, which skillfully featured specialties from various parts of Nagano, was also impressive, and the sashimi of Shinano snow trout was particularly memorable for both its appearance and taste. Since it's a wine region, I thought it would be nice to have a wider selection of local Nagano wines. I felt that the balance of old and new, and convenience, contributed to the comfort, but I hope the issues with the in-room tablet, such as not being able to call the front desk when the battery runs out, and it freezing or suddenly jumping to a different page, can be improved. Overall, it was a very satisfying stay.

    Service, not cost-effective

It's not particularly bad, but considering the amount paid, I felt the service and cost performance of the employees were poor. First, there was no one at the entrance, so I had to call out. You need to park the car yourself in the parking lot up the hill (it was raining that day). Although I informed them of my pregnancy, I didn't know at the time of reservation that the room was in the basement with stairs, and there was no confirmation from the property, so I had to carry my luggage up the stairs myself for meals, lounge use, large bath use, and check-out. (If requested, they will come to pick up the luggage) The large bath is small, there are no amenities, and there is only one sink and hairdryer, so you cannot sit and dry your hair. When leaving, I asked the staff to help load the luggage into the car due to heavy rain, but they stood still and did not move. The food was delicious and showed attention to detail, which made the service of the employees disappointing. I do not recommend it for elderly or pregnant people. I will not repeat.

    Couple's trip after several years

A trip with just the two of us, staying overnight for the first time in a while. Our room was Musasabi, with the Tenryu River flowing below, and the sound of the river was pleasant. There was a semi-open-air bath in the room, with radon hot spring water. Since it was the same as the large public bath, we didn't go there and instead spent a relaxing time in the room bath. The service and hospitality were excellent, and we plan to make a reservation for next year as well. The lighting is a bit dim, so those who wear makeup might want to bring a larger mirror with lights.

    Healing Inn

It exceeded my expectations. The service, room, food, and hot springs all provided healing. Everything was great, but especially the food! The local ingredients were prepared with extra care and effort, and I was even moved by the dishes I had never tasted before! It was so delicious~ This is an inn I definitely want to visit again someday. Thank you very much.
