    楽しい夫婦旅

    Everything is excellent.

    We stayed at the renowned Kagaya Hotel for the first time as a couple, choosing their "Anniversary Plan with Four Special Gifts." Although our anniversary had passed by six months, the Hotel kindly informed us that we could still book this plan regardless of the date. From our arrival to departure, every moment was filled with heartfelt hospitality and left us deeply impressed. The staff member assigned to our Room was young yet displayed such calm demeanor and professionalism that it made us feel at ease. The highlight of our stay was dinner served in our Room. It was a standard course meal, but we were delighted to find seasonal crab on the menu. In keeping with the Anniversary Plan theme, celebratory paper adorned some dishes. Each dish was beautifully presented in exquisite tableware and tasted just as wonderful as it looked. We enjoyed savoring them quietly in the comfort of our Room. During dinner, one of the gifts included in this Plan—a pair of Kagaya's original teacups featuring elegant designs—was personally delivered to our Room by an assistant manager. The thoughtful gestures and attention to detail throughout made it clear why Kagaya is so beloved. Although unfortunate weather prevented us from enjoying scenic views during this visit, we hope to return someday for another memorable experience. Shortly after this stay came news of an earthquake on New Year's Day affecting Noto Peninsula, leading Kagaya Hotel to temporarily close its doors. We heard how staff members went above and beyond during that time by assisting guests with evacuation and luggage handling—a testament to their exceptional dedication beyond mere hospitality. We sincerely hope everyone remains safe and wish for Kagaya's reopening soon so more people can once again enjoy its museum-like beauty and unparalleled service.

    We look forward to welcoming you again.

    "Once in a lifetime at Kagaya," I thought, and visited Kanazawa and Noto with my wife. We thoroughly researched Kagaya through numerous YouTube videos and eagerly looked forward to our stay. From the warm welcome to the heartfelt farewell, everything was truly exceptional. I was particularly impressed by the training of the young staff members—it was remarkable! The cuisine was also highly satisfying. As for concerns, since I work in facility management, I couldn't help but notice some areas that caught my attention. The water-related facilities within the Ryokan seemed aged (to put it bluntly, they felt outdated). While renovating washbasins or toilets can be challenging, neglecting them might lead to a decline in overall impressions over time. On the other hand, improving these areas could significantly enhance its image. Being a seaside property means it's impossible to avoid damage from salt exposure; however, I hope efforts will continue to maintain its reputation as "Japan's best Ryokan." I look forward to experiencing that wonderful hospitality again someday. Thank you for everything!

    Highly Anticipated Accommodation

    It was a Hotel I had always wanted to visit. At check-in, the Hotel kindly upgraded my Room. Unfortunately, it was raining, so the view from the Room was... There were two women's bath areas, and I could use them without any crowding. As for meals, dinner was luxurious beyond expectations. Breakfast was average. The age of the building is noticeable in some places. Overall, the staff's hospitality was excellent.

    I stayed at Snow Moo...

    I stayed at Snow Moon Flower for one night, and while the staff's service was excellent and satisfying, the Room felt outdated and lacked a sense of luxury. There was no clock in the Room, which made it difficult to keep track of time. The Room had no heating Facility, so I called the front desk, and they brought a halogen heater. However, I was surprised that there was no heating Facility in the Room despite being in a northern region. There were five safes for valuables, but they were too small to use conveniently, and the long chains attached to each key often got tangled, causing inconvenience. In the public bath area, the surface of the washing area floor felt uneven and rough on my feet; it even caused discomfort as if it might cut my skin. The bottom of the bathtub also appeared old. Overall, this Ryokan gave an impression of aging facilities throughout.

    Excellent hospitality

    I booked the "Setsugekka Special Floor Celebration Course." Thanks to multiple email exchanges with the reservation center beforehand, the celebratory meal was tailored perfectly without any disliked items, and I was very satisfied with the dining experience. The breakfast was also delicious. The room was spacious and excellent. The large public bath had plenty of towels available, along with a free drink corner for refreshments after bathing. It seems that the men's area is larger, so it would have been nice if women could access it on a time-sharing basis. The front desk service was fairly standard, but the reservation center staff, attendants, dining staff, and shuttle bus driver all provided excellent service.

    We recently stayed a...

    We recently stayed at Setsugetsuka for one night to celebrate our parents' wedding anniversary as a family. The Room was impeccably clean, allowing us to enjoy a comfortable stay. The dinner and breakfast, which we were most looking forward to, were absolutely delicious, leaving the entire family completely satisfied. Additionally, the staff in charge of our Room provided attentive and thoughtful service throughout our stay. Thank you for making it such a wonderful day!

    Accommodation for a Highly Satisfying Journey

    It was a girls' trip we planned to have once a year after finishing raising our children. Some of us were worried about whether we could make it due to health concerns until the last minute, but the staff accommodated us and even listened to our requests regarding the room. Their attention to detail and care were exceptional. The meals were so lavish that we couldn't finish them, and with a plan that included cake, it lifted our spirits even more. On the day of departure, a rainbow appeared—it seems they appear multiple times a day here. It was an indulgent trip, but friends who came from Tokyo and Osaka left completely satisfied. We are deeply grateful to Kaga-ya for their hospitality. Thank you very much!

    Expectations may have been too high.

    We stayed at Kaga-ya, a highly-rated Onsen Ryokan across the whole country, with our friends. Unfortunately, apart from the Onsen, nothing exceeded our expectations. Perhaps our expectations were too high. Our friends shared the same impression.

    Facilities for guests with disabilities and pet-friendly options available.

    Thank you very much for your hospitality. It was a kind and thoughtful accommodation beyond our expectations. We are especially grateful for your consideration when we informed you that my mother, who uses a wheelchair, needed to move around inside the facility. That said, we would like to kindly suggest two points for improvement: ① The large public bath had stairs in some areas, making it difficult to move around and access all the baths. It would be even better if ramps or similar solutions were provided for easier access. ② Regarding accommodations for guests with pets: While I understood the policy beforehand, I stayed at another hotel where pets are allowed because I brought my beloved dog with me, while other family members stayed at your accommodation. Unfortunately, this meant missing out on the wonderful experience at your facility. Pets are part of our family; leaving them in a car or entrusting them to a pet shop is heartbreaking and not an option for us. If pets could also stay at your accommodation in the future, it would make it an even more exceptional place to stay. We hope you will consider this possibility positively moving forward!

    Highly satisfied. Will visit again!

    Celebration Plan for my father's birthday with my elderly parents and daughter. Stayed in a Room with an open-air bath at Nagisatei. It would have been perfect if there were screens, but overall, we were extremely satisfied. The luxury of enjoying the hot spring multiple times without worrying about time, the truly delicious cuisine served on exquisite tableware and settings, and the festive celebrations left my parents absolutely delighted. Conversations with our room attendant were enjoyable, and their thoughtful hospitality lived up to its reputation. During dinner, we indulged in matsutake mushrooms for two consecutive days; now my eager parents are already planning to revisit next time to enjoy Kanou crabs. Thank you, Kagaya, for bringing out their zest for life!

    Relaxing Onsen Getaway

    Enjoyed a stay at Kagaya's "Setsugetsuka" after about 30 years. The warm hospitality remained unchanged, and the meals were visually delightful, with excellent taste and portions. The room, though showing its age, was clean and well-maintained, allowing for a comfortable stay. If I may suggest, it would be nice to have pajamas in addition to yukata and individual-sized toiletries. I had a relaxing time enjoying the onsen and delicious meals. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality.

    Exceptional service beyond expectations

    The Facility, services, and cuisine exceeded expectations. The Wajima lacquerware and Kutani porcelain used for the meals were exquisite, like being in an art museum. The Yamanaka lacquer coffee cup was particularly impressive. The on-site shop was well-stocked, and the evening show added to the overall satisfaction.

    We visited as a grou...

    We visited as a group of four: my mother, who is over 80, my husband, my daughter, and myself. From the welcoming tea service upon arrival to the delicious meals and comfortable bedding, everything exceeded our expectations. The highlight was the "in-house art museum," which was beyond our imagination and left a lasting impression. We thoroughly enjoyed the exquisite exhibits with guided explanations and appreciated being able to revisit them freely afterward. Walking through the museum with my family created truly delightful memories. Since then, we have become avid fans of Wajima lacquerware. The meals were enjoyed by all generations in our family, and both the Room's view and decor were excellent. We look forward to visiting again!

    The concept of the accommodation did not suit me. At the shop, I had an unpleasant experience with a strange young woman who seemed to be a guest. Unfortunately, I will not be visiting again.

    Highly Satisfied

    I had always wanted to visit Kagaya, and I finally got the chance to stay. My impression: 120 points for service, facilities, cuisine, room, and bath! It exceeded its excellent reputation. Everyone was incredibly kind, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. It was clear that their priority is ensuring guests have a comfortable experience rather than focusing solely on room luxury, which made for an exceptional time. I would love to visit again!

    Kagaya: Returning After 30 Years

    We chose Kagaya to celebrate our wedding anniversary, my 60th birthday, and our children's milestones. Though the facility showed some age, the cuisine and hospitality remained exceptional. Our children were delighted, and we felt refreshed. Thank you very much!

    I stayed in a room with an open-air bath at Noto Nagisatei. Everything was perfect, as expected from Kagaya. I am especially grateful to the young female staff member who provided attentive service. I had always wanted to stay here, and I hope to create another opportunity to visit again.

    It was a wonderful stay!

    The hospitality and delicious meals exceeded our expectations. The room offered a view of Nanao Bay, and the dawn scenery was breathtakingly beautiful. We enjoyed the open-air bath as a family, and although our stay was short, it became a truly wonderful memory. Thank you for your thoughtful arrangements regarding baby food for our 1-year-old and accommodating our meal times despite the last-minute reservation. We will cherish the Kutani ware teacup as well.

    Disappointed with the lack of view.

    Selected this option as it was the only one with an Onsen open-air bath, but was disappointed by the lack of a view. Since I had requested a sea-facing room, I would have appreciated being informed about alternative options like a suite, even if it featured heated water. Overall, it felt like the staff only responded to specific requests without offering suggestions, making it exhausting to provide instructions for everything. Amenities were also outdated and disappointing compared to those of a Hotel.

    We had a wonderful time.

    We stayed at the accommodation to celebrate my grandmother's birthday. Although I was worried because my grandmother is a picky eater, they responded very kindly after I shared our requests in advance. The staff's hospitality was so attentive that it made us feel apologetic for their efforts. Since we booked the birthday course, we received a cake and a gift, which made my grandmother very happy. It’s not an accommodation we can stay at frequently due to the cost, but I would love to stay again for special occasions or celebrations.

    Simply wonderful.

    It was just as everyone had rated. From the initial welcome to the final send-off, I was truly impressed with the exceptional service of Kaga Ryokan. The Room attendant created such a pleasant atmosphere that made me feel, "Ah, this is what a luxury Ryokan feels like," leaving no room for dissatisfaction. However, one small downside was the morning market. It mainly featured dried fish and goods; if it's called a morning market, I would have loved to see fresh seafood from the Sea of Japan. Other than that, everything was absolutely wonderful. It turned out to be a great family trip. Thank you very much!

    Stayed at the Momiji...

    Stayed at the Momiji Floor of Nagisatei. The room included a bedroom, a 10-tatami mat guest room, and an extended seating area, all offering stunning views of Nanao Bay from every window. The scenery was exactly as expected. Meals were served in the room, allowing us to enjoy the changing views of Nanao Bay from dusk to dawn while dining. The menu featured a traditional Japanese kaiseki course with top-quality ingredients and classic preparation, served on Kutani ware dishes. While delicious overall, incorporating some creative dishes could make the dining experience even more enjoyable. The meal service was impeccable. The large public baths include two areas exclusively for women. While some facilities show signs of age, they are adequately clean. Fresh bath towels are always available in the bathing area for added comfort. However, it was disappointing that the windows in the indoor bath facing Nanao Bay were perpetually fogged up due to facility issues. On the other hand, the view from the open-air bath overlooking Nanao Bay was excellent. Guests can also use the large public baths at its sister accommodation "Aenokaze," with shuttle service provided by car. Experiencing Kaga-ya—ranked No.1 by professionals—was truly memorable!

    Truly wonderful

    We celebrated my mother's 88th birthday here and were truly impressed by the exceptional hospitality at Kagaya. Despite having many small children with us, the staff remembered each of their names and treated them kindly. They also presented a commemorative gift to my mother. The staff was incredibly helpful when assisting my wheelchair-bound mother during bath time, for which we are deeply grateful. We would love to visit again if we have the opportunity!

    Truly felt like the best in Japan.

    We stayed for two nights as a family of five, including three children, during our summer trip. With my eldest daughter starting her job next year and this possibly being our last family trip together, combined with my own career transition, we chose to visit not just Noto but specifically Kaga-ya Ryokan to make it a memorable experience. In conclusion, I was thoroughly satisfied and understood why this ryokan is often called the best in Japan. The highlight was undoubtedly the exceptional service provided by the room attendants. We had different attendants on each day, but both were equally professional—offering attentive yet approachable service without being overly familiar. They handled even our spontaneous questions or requests to adjust meal times with sincerity and a smile, making us feel very comfortable throughout our stay. This level of hospitality seems deeply ingrained in the culture of the ryokan through its training and evaluation systems. The meals were traditional Japanese cuisine served for both breakfast and dinner—simple yet meticulously prepared dishes that were satisfying in both quality and quantity. The facility itself is luxurious without being overly flashy; it has a tasteful sense of unity with impeccable maintenance throughout every corner of its large premises. Despite its scale, it felt surprisingly cozy even for families with children. As for the baths, while they were clean and well-maintained, I found the water quality not entirely to my preference. The men's bath spans three floors (with an elevator available), requiring some movement via stairs; additionally, while there are open-air baths available, I wished there had been more variety. Thanks to activities like sea fishing (a first-time experience for my kids), swimming at the pool, and driving along Nagisa Driveway Beach Road—we enjoyed a wonderful trip to Noto overall! I would like to express my gratitude especially to our two room attendants as well as all staff members at Kaga-ya Ryokan who made this stay so special. Hopefully one day we can return again as a family! Wishing you continued success moving forward!

    As expected of Kagaya.

    My first stay at Kaga-ya was a wonderful experience with excellent hospitality. At the reception, I was upgraded to the "Setsugetsuka" room from the "Noto Kyakuden" I had reserved, as it was available, and enjoyed matcha tea in the lobby. The staff were patient and accommodating even with my overly free-spirited companion. Although I found the bath smaller than expected, it was still a pleasant experience with great water quality. As I was tired from cleaning a grave earlier that day, I couldn't explore the facility much, but Wajima lacquerware and Kaga Yuzen displayed throughout were a feast for the eyes. I would love to stay here again!
