    Summer Vacation

    The irori was a valuable experience, but the Room filled with smoke and it was extremely hot. There were spider webs in the hallway and other areas, so I would appreciate it if you could clean them if possible.

    In summer, the only option is to escape to higher elevations.

    This Accommodation is located near a ski resort, and the building feels a bit dated. There was still a faint scent of old tatami in the room, but we didn’t encounter any stink bugs that sometimes appear at mountain lodgings, which was reassuring. The bath is an Onsen with a gentle feel on the skin and a slightly silky texture. I prefer soaking slowly in warm rather than hot water, and the temperature was just right for me. Dinner is served around an irori hearth. There seemed to be a tour-bus group staying that day as well, and the dining area was nearly full. Their menu appeared to be different from ours, but our hearth-grilled dishes were carefully turned at the right time by the attendant, and everything was delicious. This isn’t an Accommodation for those seeking glamour or luxury, but what impressed us most was the very reasonable price. It’s surprisingly affordable for a place listed on IKYU—about the cost of one night at a Business Hotel in Tokyo—and it even includes dinner for two. Considering the cool summer climate and this price point, it was more than satisfying stay.

    Great value for money

    The Onsen was wonderfully relaxing, and we were very satisfied. The piping-hot wild boar hot pot and grilled yamame skewers were absolutely delicious—also very satisfied with the food. Even though it was a three-day weekend, the cost per person was about 17,000 yen, which was very budget-friendly. The two friends who came with me were also delighted.

    Irori Cuisine and Onsen

    We enjoyed the irori, with each piece carefully grilled over charcoal, making it incredibly delicious. The onsen was fantastic, allowing us to soak in beautifying waters while enjoying the mountain scenery. It was an excellent value onsen accommodation.

    Thoughts on Staying at the Accommodation

    I stayed in April. The bath was great, and the meals by the hearth were delicious. The downside was that it was cold outside the room, and the TV was extremely small.

    I was able to spend the New Year meaningfully.

    I stayed with my parents, and my father really enjoyed the bath and the food. He liked the bath so much that he used it four times during our one-night stay. Since it was a New Year's stay, there was a mochi pounding demonstration in the morning, making it a very satisfying stay. Some other reviews point out the age of the facilities, but it didn't particularly bother me.

    A warm inn that evokes a sense of nostalgia.

    It was a trip to also reward my wife, and the facility had a Showa-era feel, which was nostalgic. Additionally, I was moved by the hospitality and warmth of the staff. The hot spring was so soothing that I wanted to stay in it forever, and the irori cuisine was both surprising and impressive. Next time, I would like to visit with my children and friends. Thank you very much.

    The dinner and service were wonderful.

    The dinner by the hearth was charming and very enjoyable. The dishes were plentiful and delicious. The staff's service was polite and I thought it was excellent. The guest room is a basic Japanese-style room, but I was concerned about some dusty areas. Since the price is reasonable, I think promoting it on social media could attract young repeat customers! I would like to stay again.

    Reasonably priced, the bath is good.

    The rest chairs at the front desk were shabby, with fabric stapled on, and several staples sticking out, which was dangerous. I can't eat the gamey meat of horse sashimi and boar hot pot, so I called the front desk to tell them not to serve horse sashimi. Horse sashimi was served at the dining venue, and even though I said it was fine because I would leave it, the staff in charge asked, "When did you say that? When you made the reservation?" I overheard them telling another staff member, "They said they couldn't eat horse sashimi at the front desk." After that, being asked, "Is soy sauce okay? Is miso okay?" made me feel uncomfortable. I only said I couldn't eat horse sashimi, so it's strange to ask if I can't eat soy sauce or miso. This was the biggest negative point. The temperature was about 5 degrees lower than in the city, and the bath was not crowded, so I enjoyed the spacious open-air bath with its slippery water.
