    The Room stays very ...

The Room stays very cool after sunset even in summer. The adjacent forest concert hall was charming. Dinner was French cuisine, but I wasn’t sure about the pork with a sweet sauce and a sweet potato side dish.

    Stay in Okushiga

Okushiga is the most remote area within Shiga Kogen. In return, the snow quality was excellent, there were fewer people, and our stay was very comfortable. The Hotel itself felt quite old, but functionally there were no particular issues. However, the ski lockers were small and limited in space, so it was a bit difficult to fit skis and boots inside, and the area for putting on shoes was also cramped. The bath was not an Onsen, but it was spacious and relaxing to use. For dinner we used the French restaurant. Although Reviews were not very positive, the à la carte menu was very delicious. Breakfast had a decent variety and was satisfactory. Bathrobes were provided in the Room. I only realized at checkout that yukata could be provided upon request; I would have liked to have known earlier. The front desk staff responded politely and helpfully throughout our stay.

    The dining area is disappointing.

The accommodation is quiet, with plenty of places to explore just a short drive away. The room is spacious and offers great value for money. However, the dining area was disappointing. A single guest was seated at a four-person table by the window, while we, as a party of two, were placed in an overly cramped seat in the middle, which felt uncomfortable. It would be nice if this could be reconsidered.

A lovely Hotel in the highlands.

Due to a last-minute change, we decided to bring a relative's child along and consulted in advance about room arrangements and reservation methods. The staff responded kindly and professionally, making our stay enjoyable. Although the building is not new, it is well-maintained throughout, and the rooms have a calm atmosphere that made them very comfortable. While our schedule didn’t align this time, I imagine the concert at the music hall must be wonderful and felt envious. The only downsides were that the room key was difficult to lock and there were no tables for more than five people in the breakfast area. I would love to stay again!

The location is excellent, but the service could be better.

Stayed in a Deluxe Twin room for 3 nights with my partner to go skiing. The location for skiing is excellent, and the guest rooms and facilities are satisfactory, though there were some disappointing aspects that I hope will be improved in the future. The presence of many foreign staff, especially in the dining area, might reflect current trends, but overall it gave an impression of insufficient training and management. At the Japanese restaurant "Kunembo," staff lacked knowledge about sake and even issued an incorrect bill. Mistakes were also made in the order of serving dishes, making me question whether this was truly a first-class Hotel restaurant. Additionally, at least three vending machines had stickers stating "New 1000 yen bills cannot be used." It is puzzling why these machines have not been updated more than six months after the new bills were issued.

Powder snow at Okushiga & Yokoteyama and a luxurious Hotel await you.

Located deep in Shiga Kogen, access by car requires caution, but a luxurious Hotel and powder snow await you. The early morning drive was fully frozen at -5°C, but careful driving with studless FR tires posed no issues (the return trip in the evening was sunny and around +5°C with no ice). Being at the farthest slopes of Shiga Kogen, high-quality powder snow is guaranteed. Both Okushiga Kogen and Yakebitaiyama offer convenient gondolas that take you straight to the summit for long runs. Especially on clear days, the upper area of Okushiga is breathtakingly addictive. The Hotel boasts a historic charm and provides a comfortable stay. Ski lockers are conveniently located near the slope exit, making it easy to access—less than a minute to reach the lift! After an exhausting day on the slopes, I was rejuvenated by an exquisite French dinner. It was absolutely delicious!

The lounge has a great atmosphere.

I visit for skiing once a year and have been coming for about 7 years. I love the warm hospitality and the cozy atmosphere of the lounge. The food is delicious, and I am very satisfied. It's a pity that the welcome drink is no longer offered. I hope you continue to thrive without being influenced by external corporations.

    The meals are a bit...

Thank you for your hospitality. I enjoy staying at various classic hotels. This is also a classic Resort Hotel that takes advantage of the scenery. Despite the beautiful building, the quality of the meals is too poor; both the quantity and quality do not match the price. I thought it was not promising from the start, especially due to the poor amuse-bouche. I believe this Hotel would be more valuable if the meals were improved.

    Every year, Okushiga

This season, the snow piled up early, so I stayed at the Okushiga Kogen Hotel and had my first ski of the year! It was bad weather with snow every day, but I am very satisfied. I was very happy to talk with familiar staff at the hotel. The facility is old, but the atmosphere and location are very good. The meals are always delicious! I will visit again.

    Summer retreat

I stayed for several nights to escape the summer heat. The room was spacious, quiet, and very convenient. In the summer, the Okushiga Highlands are cool in the shade, but the room was unexpectedly warm, so I wished the windows could open a bit wider. I had breakfast, lunch, and dinner, all of which were delicious, but the breakfast buffet was particularly good.
