    Mount Fuji as seen from the Hotel

    We couldn’t see Mt. Fuji on the day we arrived, but it was beautifully clear on the morning of our second day, and we were truly impressed.

    We had a comfortable stay.

    The Room was spacious, and we could relax with a calm view of Lake Ashi right in front of us. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t great so we couldn’t see Mt. Fuji, but we hope to come back again on a clear day.

    We stayed here for a trip to Hakone to celebrate my mother’s 88th birthday. The Room was spacious and comfortable, with a direct view of Mt. Fuji, and every dish at the French dinner was excellent. My mother was truly delighted, and we were very satisfied. Although it was a bit small, it was also great to be able to use the large public bath at such a luxury Hotel. (At Fujiya Hotel, there was only the in-room bathroom.)

    I stayed here to celebrate my partner's birthday. The silhouette of Mount Fuji in the evening and the orange-tinted sky provided a serene view that brought peace to my heart. The dinner course at night included a birthday message on the dessert, which made my partner very happy. Both the red wine at night and the white wine in the morning paired perfectly with our meals, making it an excellent choice. The Hotel offered a quiet atmosphere, allowing us to enjoy two relaxing days away from daily life. Thank you to all the staff!

    We were blessed with great weather this time and enjoyed a wonderful time being able to see Mount Fuji from the Room throughout our stay. It was my mother's first visit, and she seemed very pleased with the Room, bathroom, and breakfast. Thank you for always providing a comfortable space and excellent service.     My elderly mother and aunt were very well taken care of. They said they thoroughly enjoyed the stunning postcard-like view of Lake Ashi and Mount Fuji from their Lake View Room. They also mentioned how much they enjoyed strolling around the Hotel's surroundings, sharing many delightful stories about their experience. Next time, I would love to visit with my family!

    The air conditioning only had a fan mode despite the heat, so it was hot. The food was delicious.

    Prime location by Lake Ashi

    The view from this Hotel is simply stunning. Right in front of you is Lake Ashi, and on clear days, you can see the peak of Mount Fuji. The breathtaking scenery from your Room will surely wash away any travel fatigue. Dinner at the lovely restaurant, indulging in French cuisine with a luxurious atmosphere, was absolutely fantastic. Breakfast offers a choice of main dishes along with a buffet; while the selection isn't vast, the quality is excellent and more than sufficient. There are many lakeside hotels to choose from, but choosing Hakone Hotel was definitely the right decision!

    Recommended for enjoying stunning views and visiting Kuzuryu Shrine.

    The room offers a stunning view of Lake Ashi and Mount Fuji. You can easily visit Kuzuryu Shrine by motorboat, making it convenient for worship. For dinner, upgrading the dessert to Crêpes Suzette was a delightful experience as it was prepared right in front of us, showcasing professional skills. The fluffy omelet at breakfast was also incredibly delicious. However, women's amenities are not provided in the room, and Gold Member benefits need to be requested at the front desk. The public bath is small, and since it can be seen from outside at night, it is recommended to enjoy the view earlier in the evening before lowering the blinds.

    I had a relaxing and pleasant stay.

    We enjoyed a welcome drink before heading to the garden and relaxing until dinner. The course meal with chopsticks was incredibly delicious. The fish dishes were so good that I even considered canceling the meat dish to have another serving of fish (the same dish). However, the meat was also exceptional, and if there had been availability in the Room, I would have loved to stay another night just to order the same meal again. The service and attentiveness of the Hotel staff were excellent, and I look forward to staying again, enjoying the delicious cuisine, and having a wonderful time.

    I felt very relaxed.

    It was a great Hotel. The view was the best hospitality. Of course, all the staff were pleasant, and it was very comfortable. I will definitely visit again. I deducted one star for the bath because I felt the public bath's tub was small. The round tub, in particular, was hard to enter when there were people in it.

    Ashinoko Torii-yaki Festival Fireworks Display

    I revisited because last year's fireworks viewed from the Room were amazing. I knew Hakone often has mist, but it was unexpectedly foggy this time. It was unfortunate due to natural phenomena. However, I was surprised to be informed at check-in that Diamond Member benefits are not available during non-peak periods. It wasn’t Golden Week or Obon season, so I believe this should have been communicated in advance. We arrived early (1 PM), and the front desk informed us that the lounge opens at 3 PM, leaving us unsure where to wait with elderly companions. Eventually, I checked the lounge myself and managed to enjoy shaved ice there. At 3 PM, we were told about welcome drinks; more considerate guidance would have been appreciated. The front desk represents the Hotel after all. Other than this issue, everyone provided friendly and pleasant service!

    We stay here every year.

    How many years have I been using this place? Clean and comfortable rooms. Scenic views from every room. Lake Ashi and the surrounding mountains. Mount Fuji on clear, cloudless days. The sight of boats passing by. Exquisite and delicate meals. I always enjoy a relaxing stay at my favorite Hotel. (Just one small concern: I noticed some dirt under the handle part of the bathtub in the room. It’s not visible from above, but it caught my eye when soaking in the tub. Other than that, everything was perfect.)

    Stunning Views of Lake Ashi and Delicious Cuisine

    With a stunning view of Lake Ashi right in front, the lake's clear waters spread near the Room, where fish could be seen swimming. In the morning, Mount Fuji made an appearance, creating a picturesque scene alongside sightseeing boats. For dinner, we chose a course meal served with chopsticks, and the main dish featuring "Shizuoka-raised" beef was incredibly delicious. Breakfast was Western-style with plenty of vegetables, making it very healthy. Staying at this historic and traditional Hotel was extremely comfortable.

    Beautiful scenery and delicious lunch.

    We used the lunch-included plan with a 6-hour stay. Unlike Yumoto or the opposite shore, there were fewer tourists, allowing us to relax and refresh at our own pace. The staff's hospitality was excellent. The lunch was a full-course meal with several options to choose from, and it was incredibly delicious and satisfying. The room offered a stunning view of Lake Ashi and was very clean and comfortable. In the lounge, there was an all-you-can-drink service for coffee and soft drinks. However, as onsen enthusiasts, we found the onsen experience slightly underwhelming. While the women's bath had a nice view of Lake Ashi with two small but clean tubs, it lacked an authentic onsen feel. The men's bath had almost no windows, offering no view at all according to my husband. For us, only the baths were disappointing; everything else was absolutely wonderful!

    Not recommended for experienced Japanese hotel guests.

    To conclude, the Room and location were excellent. However, the hospitality was average or below average for a Hotel. I would not recommend it to Japanese guests accustomed to high standards. Perhaps due to the large number of inbound guests, there were many foreign staff members, and outside of the front desk, communication was often in broken Japanese. (The Japanese male front desk staff were also unimpressive. Their hairstyles did not suit a Hotel front desk—one even had a pineapple-like hairstyle—and their language use was questionable. Other male staff members were similar.) Regarding dining, I had French cuisine but found that guidance was not smooth and orders only came after prompting from our side. Naturally, communication was in broken Japanese as well. At the breakfast buffet, we had to go directly to the staff to request main dishes; they did not come otherwise despite normal crowd levels at that time. Perhaps my familiarity with Hotels influenced my perception, but it clearly felt like this Hotel does not target Japanese guests. Diamond membership benefits also seemed inapplicable during holidays; this should be clearly stated on IKYU.com as either non-applicable or excluded during holiday periods. That said, the Room with a lake view was fantastic. The location is perfect for enjoying activities like taking a pirate ship ride and heading towards Gora in reverse order—it made for an enjoyable stay overall. The Room alone makes me want to return again someday!

    The view was very beautiful, and the Room was clean and comfortable to stay in. I would suggest allowing access to the bath at any time during the Room usage, as it currently starts from 2 PM.

    Thanks to the staff, I was able to have a pleasant stay again. I could also see a beautiful view of Mt. Fuji from the Room. I appreciated that towels were provided in the bathhouse. I will definitely visit again next time.

    We had a pleasant New Year's holiday.

    The staff were all very polite and served with a smile. Especially upon arrival, the person who greeted us outside made us feel warm and relieved the moment we arrived, despite the light snow and cold weather. The view from the Room was excellent, allowing us to enjoy the beauty of Lake Ashi and Mount Fuji peeking through the clouds. The meals were visually appealing and delicious, but the meat's fat didn't quite suit my taste. I thought perhaps it would have been better cooked medium instead of the recommended medium-rare, so I deducted one star. The bath was easy to use and pleasant, as the availability could be checked from the site. It would be even better if there were markers for the slippers (to identify one's own). The free drink lounge provided a relaxing sofa outside the Room, which was very pleasing. Additionally, having water and coffee prepared in the Room was very helpful. Breakfast was satisfying, with a choice of Western main dishes and a buffet style offering bread, salad, and fruit. Personally, I found the acai banana juice and yogurt's creaminess to be very delicious. It was disappointing that there was no farewell greeting from anyone other than the front desk staff when we left, as we had requested a taxi. For example, if the staff member seeing off guests outside is busy with other customers, having other staff cover during busy checkout times might increase guest satisfaction.

    It is important to leave a lasting impression.

    The Facility was excellent, the food was excellent, and the hospitality procedures made for a memorable stay. It seems that some staff members do not understand this kind of kind and courteous pride, and if minor troubles due to poor communication from senior staff who are well-versed are not sincerely acknowledged and apologized for, they will remain as negative memories. I hope they understand that young staff should not just watch and learn, but should be taught and communicated with kind words. If they understand what is communicated, they will surely be able to respond well. I believe that the best hospitality is to ensure good communication among staff and create a good atmosphere that is visible to guests. Keep up the good work.

    I chose the property...

    I chose the property because I wanted to see Mt. Fuji. The weather was nice, and I kept gazing at it from the room until checkout time. Being right in front of the lake, there were no people around, and I could purely enjoy the view of Mt. Fuji and Lake Ashi. The hotel itself was very quiet, and I was able to relax. I was surprised to see many people in the restaurant the next morning. The meals were generally delicious. I would have appreciated a bit more wasabi with the meat. I would like to visit again in a different season. The one downside of the facility was the outlets. I had to search around for an outlet to charge my smartphone.

    Only the bath and welcome drink (T_T)

    Thank you for your hospitality. We used the property for a girls' trip and had a very comfortable stay. Although it is a historical Stays, it was renovated the year before last, and both the interior and the garden were very beautiful and well-maintained. For the welcome drink, I chose the Christmas cocktail, but the appearance and taste were below expectations, which lowered my excitement. It would be nice if that could be reviewed. The dinner was delicious, and I was satisfied with both the quality and quantity. Lastly, the onsen. The water is very nice, but it's a shame that the bathhouse is a bit small. It sometimes became a situation where we had to yield to each other, which made it less relaxing. I thought it would be perfect if the bathhouse were upgraded.

    The hospitality was not great.

    The view from the room and the hospitality cuisine at the restaurant were excellent. However, the response and hospitality of the front staff were among the worst I've experienced in hotels I've stayed at. First of all, when entering or leaving the hotel, there was a male staff member standing at the entrance, but there was no greeting at all. At other hotels, you would at least hear a "Hello" or "Have a nice day." This is the only hotel of this class where we were not given a room tour or explanation, which felt quite unpleasant. There was no explanation on how to get to the room, and my wife, who usually praises my hotel choices, felt that we weren't being treated with hospitality this time, which left us with a bad impression. I hope the management of this hotel takes to heart the importance of providing hospitality to guests to create the best memories. Perhaps due to the large number of foreign guests, this aspect seems neglected compared to other high-class hotels. Last month, I stayed at a Fujiya Hotel of the same group and wanted to repeat the experience, but I don't think I will be returning to this one.
