After quite a long time, I finally managed to take a long holiday, so I decided on a solo trip within Japan. After a lot of deliberation, I chose Okinawa. Rather than sightseeing, I wanted to focus on a relaxing “hotel stay,” so I chose Hiramatsu and stayed for two nights. My impressions: The Room was ideal (even beyond what I had imagined), and it felt even better than the photos on the website. The natural sounds and breeze in the quiet surroundings—and perhaps the way the sunlight came in—may have contributed to that feeling. Depending on the Room’s location and type, impressions may vary, but for me it felt like an outstanding location. I visited just after Obon and before Okinawa’s traditional Obon period, so occupancy may have been calmer; as a solo traveler, the timing may have worked out perfectly. Even with slightly cloudy skies, there were still so many stars visible at night—it really impressed me. Seeing something you can’t experience in Tokyo made me genuinely excited. If I had to mention one thing: on the second night’s dinner, it felt like both the menu composition and service were lighter compared with the first night (for example, there were no particular upgrade suggestions on day two; champagne and wine also weren’t poured at the table). That said, it was only that my “solo trip excitement” left me feeling just a little wistful... The younger staff members served us while clearly feeling some nervousness, so perhaps that led to slightly more straightforward service—but since I was alone anyway (and honestly don’t mind being their practice guest), please feel free to do so next time (laugh). I could truly feel everyone’s sincere care throughout my stay, which made me very happy. Most other guests were couples or families with children, but nothing bothered me at all; if anything, I enjoyed my meal and wine while admiring all that happy energy around me. It was wonderful. I’d love to visit again next summer. Thank you very much.

Since the full renovation, every facility has been spotless. I was satisfied with everything, but I was especially surprised at how spacious all four private baths were—and they were impeccably clean. The water was excellent, with no unpleasant chlorine smell overpowering the sulfur scent. The Nordic-style sauna was also very relaxing. The meals were delicious and just the right amount. This is a Ryokan I would definitely like to visit again.

I stayed for work, and the room was spacious and clean, with excellent meals. The directions and assistance from the front desk when I went out for dinner were also great, making it a pleasant outing. I would like to visit again with my family next time.

A clean and well-maintained Hotel with an excellent location and easy access from the station. With restaurants and convenience stores nearby, you won’t have any trouble finding what you need. The shampoo and other amenities in the bath dispense a bit poorly.

This was my first trip to Hokkaido. I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay to celebrate the birth of my eldest son’s baby and to see my grandchild. They kindly accommodated a late check-in, and I appreciated the wide selection of amenities next to the front desk. Breakfast menus changed by day, so I enjoyed a delicious meal on the second day as well. In particular, I loved the seafood rice bowl where you can add as much of your favorite toppings as you like. All staff were pleasant, and I had a very comfortable stay. It would have been even better if the changing area were a bit more spacious.

I stayed here last year and loved it, so I decided to visit again. The Room is simple yet comfortable, with a unique design not often seen elsewhere. The toilet and bathroom are separate, and the spacious bath feels like home, allowing you to relax without worrying about water splashing around. The sink is an extension of the counter inside the Room—an uncommon but very convenient feature. The bed is wide and offers excellent comfort for a good night's sleep. Even with a no-breakfast Plan, complimentary coffee and non-alcoholic drinks are available in the front floor area, which is much appreciated. The TV is internet-based, so regular broadcasts aren't available. While this might be disappointing for avid TV watchers, you can still watch some current shows on YouTube or other platforms without much inconvenience. Parking is available at ground level behind the building with an entrance there as well—very convenient. The front floor has sofas for waiting or meeting up with others and features seasonal decorations that add charm to your stay. Although I didn't use it myself, there’s also a coin laundry facility available. The staff left a positive impression as well!

I stayed here because the Accommodation highlighted that you can see the Seven Stars in Kyushu from the Room. It really was a Room with a great view, and I was able to photograph the Seven Stars in Kyushu with Mt. Yufu in the background. You can also see Mt. Yufu from the Onsen in the Room. The medicinal rice porridge at breakfast was especially delicious!

I stayed for one night with my sister. The Room was very clean and well maintained, easy to use, and we enjoyed the in-Room bath many times (we even did laundry!). We had our meals at a charming traditional house restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere. Everything was delicious, right up to the final sushi! Thanks to the warm hospitality, we were able to relax and enjoy our stay. We also really enjoyed the snacks and gelato provided in the Room. We were blessed with great weather, making it a wonderful trip. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us—we will definitely be back!

We stayed for one night during the Obon holidays with my daughter’s family. My son-in-law was visiting Kusatsu Onsen for the first time, and he really enjoyed the delicious meals and the yumomi experience at the Ryokan. All of the staff were kind, and even our 9-month-old grandchild was able to enjoy it, making it a wonderful trip. We would like to stay at Sakurai Ryokan again.

Everything was very clean, and the staff were courteous and attentive. The breakfast buffet was delicious, and the view of Lake Shinji from the window was wonderful. The water in the large public bath was slightly silky and left my skin feeling smooth. I did wish there were a few more washing stations. The fragrance placed in the elevator hall smelled amazing and really lifted my mood! I would definitely like to stay here again.

I stayed here with my mother in her 80s. From the moment we arrived, we felt thoughtful attention to detail, and it left a wonderful impression. Enjoying a delicious cheesecake while looking out at the ocean was lovely, and we ended up relaxing in the lobby for quite a while. We stayed in two Japanese-style Rooms, which were spacious and comfortable, and the futons were exceptionally cozy. In the evening, there were unexpected activities like roasting marshmallows and watching fireworks, which became great memories. We only had breakfast, but it was elegantly seasoned with light flavors and generously featured ingredients from Mie Prefecture—everything was delicious. The portion size was just right. The baths were kept very clean, and all of them—including the open-air bath and pearl bath—were truly relaxing. The staff’s courteous service also made a great impression. We chose Shiojitei to celebrate my mother’s full recovery, and I’m glad she enjoyed it. I would definitely like to stay again!

Everything was spotless, and the atmosphere was wonderful! The breakfast buffet was also incredibly lavish! I was busy with personal plans in the evening and couldn’t make it to the bar, which I really regret—so next time I’d like to stay again and take my time! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

It was a wonderful Hotel. The staff were very courteous, and we had a comfortable stay. We had a small issue with the Room, but when we asked for help, they promptly arranged a Room change, which was very helpful. Thank you for your quick response. We used the buffet for both breakfast and dinner. Both offered a wide variety of dishes, and everything was delicious. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with our stay and would love to stay again.

It was a wonderful Hotel. The staff’s hospitality was outstanding, and the location was very convenient. Afternoon tea and the evening cocktail hour were excellent, including light snacks. About a 10-minute walk along the left-side sidewalk of the main road from Kanazawa Station (Kenrokuen Exit). There is no prominent signage at pedestrian eye level, so the entrance is right next to the Hokutetsu Bus stop “Musashigatsuji / Omicho Market.” Check-in starts early at 14:00. An art piece is placed on the bed in each Room, giving a luxurious feel. There is no large public bath, but the provided bath salts help you unwind. There are several coin laundry machines, and detergent is not required. Wash + dry takes about 80 minutes, from JPY 400. The machines accept JPY 100 coins only, but you can exchange money at the front desk. Check-out is at 11:00, and luggage storage after check-out is available. This Hotel sells Kanazawa Bus One-Day Passes, but Kanazawa Station and Korinbo are both within walking distance from the Hotel.

This long-established Ryokan had a calm atmosphere, and the garden was wonderful. Most notably, the in-room rock bath was so spacious that it felt almost too much for our family of three, and with free-flowing hot spring water straight from the source, we lost count of how many times we soaked. The meals were also carefully prepared; everything was delicious, especially the tasty rice—so good that our son, who usually never asks for seconds, did. We would definitely like to stay again. My spouse and I stayed here as a couple. The jacuzzi on the balcony was wonderful. It felt like an open-air bath, and we could see the ocean—the view was amazing. We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days: sunbathing on the beach, then back to the jacuzzi, and meals of Chinese cuisine made with local ingredients. We had an amazing three days.

Although our stay was short due to a late arrival and early departure, we were able to enjoy both the open-air bath in our Room and the two large public baths. The Room was outdoors, unlike what was shown on the website, and I was surprised that there was no view at all; however, it seems first-floor guest rooms are designed that way. Neither of the two large public baths was crowded at night or early in the morning, and both the tubs and washing areas were well cleaned, allowing us to relax. We did not use breakfast, but we were able to enjoy the late-night “Yonaki Soba,” as well as ice cream after bathing. Combined with the convenient location near Izumo Taisha Shrine, it was a stay that made us want to return.

I had an important engagement and stopped by your city for the first time in four years on my way back from a business trip, and stayed one night. Because I felt more wear and tear than expected at the flagship Hotel where I stayed on my previous visit, I was looking for another option in the convenient city center when I found this Hotel. It is close to the station, with easy access to limousine buses, local buses, and taxis, so I hardly felt any of the transportation inconvenience that can be common in regional cities. As it is newly opened, the Room was clean, and the view from my Room—overlooking the islands of the Seto Inland Sea and all of Imabari—was wonderful. (It would have been even better if the windows were a bit larger.) Breakfast offered a relatively wide selection and tasted good as well, and I also really appreciated the complimentary welcome drink upon arrival on a hot day. The large public bath was spacious and clean, and being able to gaze at the night view through a large, beautiful window helped me unwind from the day’s fatigue and feel refreshed. It’s great that Imabari now has such a good Hotel. One point to note—not as something good or bad—is that there seem to be many international guests. I work in an international field so it didn’t bother me at all, but some people may feel unsettled seeing many overseas visitors in places like the lobby or large public bath in a regional city like Imabari. That said, during my stay there were no guests with poor manners.
