Staying at Accommodations is my hobby, and I also work in a related field, so I tend to notice a lot of things. When I arrived and saw the building from the outside, I was a little disappointed, but once inside everything was very clean. Many of the staff seemed new, but their earnest efforts despite being unfamiliar with the work genuinely impressed me. Even though I can get irritated easily, I forgot all about it here. The Room had an open-air bath, it was fairly close to the parking lot, the food was delicious, and it offered great value for money! There wasn’t any mist when looking up above either—overall, for a traditional Onsen Ryokan, it was wonderful and I had a truly pleasant time. I will definitely come again soon.

The view from the in-room open-air bath was truly breathtaking. It seemed to be the night of a full moon, and the moonlight reflecting on the water was wonderfully dreamlike. Soaking in the tub and gazing at it for a while, I almost lost track of time. The meals were creative and delicious, and the staff were cheerful, always smiling, and thoughtfully attentive throughout our stay—we had a truly wonderful time. A lovely Accommodation I would love to visit again.

I stay here every year (sometimes twice) whenever I visit Wakkanai. Having a coin laundry, microwave, and ice machine on site is very helpful. Especially in summer, I often stay in Hokkaido for about two weeks, so the coin laundry is a big plus (some city hotels don’t have one). I didn’t use it this time, but room service is also convenient. I visited in autumn before and there was a day with a severe snowstorm, so I used room service then. I was satisfied with the meal at Annon (this time, the Soya Beef set meal) as well as the breakfast buffet. I’m looking forward to the Onsen.

It was a wonderful Accommodation. We were very satisfied with both the bath and the meals, and the staff were very kind. We had a relaxing stay. The Room was spacious, and we were able to unwind comfortably.

I love the calm atmosphere of Tateshina Tokyu Hotel and have stayed here several times. Its setting in the forest, the dignified yet unpretentious interiors, and the quiet time you can spend here offer a charm that is hard to find at other hotels. This time was no different, and it reminded me again how much I like this hotel. Also, though it’s a small thing, I really like the toothbrushes in the guest rooms. They’re comfortable to use, and I can feel the hotel’s thoughtfulness even in these details. I hope you will continue with the current ones. On the other hand, precisely because I’ve been coming for many years, there are a few things that disappointed me. The biggest one is that Japanese dinner has been discontinued since this year. On a Multiple Night Stay, we used to enjoy being able to choose “Western tonight, Japanese tomorrow” within the hotel itself. Especially for us—who prefer not to drive once we arrive and instead relax in the forest or inside—the option was very important. French cuisine certainly has its appeal, but having Western meals both nights makes it feel like a slightly different hotel than before. I would be happy if Japanese dinner becomes an option again someday. I was also sorry to hear that the garden pool, long loved by guests, has ended operations starting this year. I understand it was due to aging facilities (Facility), but combined with the end of Japanese dinner options (Facility), it feels as though some of what made Tateshina Tokyu special is gradually disappearing. One more thing I would love to see enhanced is the in-house library collection (Facility). This is such a quiet Hotel where you can relax while looking out at the forest—perfect for reading. The current selection feels lacking not so much in quantity as in curation quality. If there were more books that you’d want to pick up specifically because you came to Tateshina—on Shinshu’s nature and culture, mountains, architecture, travel writing, literature—it would make time spent at this Hotel even richer. I’m not asking for new facilities or services one after another. Rather, I hope you will continue cherishing and preserving what makes this Hotel unique. These comments come from someone who truly likes this Hotel—and I hope to keep visiting for many years to come.

We stayed in the Special Room Wakutake. There were four of us: my 4-year-old son, my parents, and me. The Room isn’t new, but it’s spacious and comfortable. The food was delicious as well—satisfying in both quality and quantity. The special kids’ menu was also well prepared. There are several types of baths, which was great, and our child never got bored.

I stay here almost every year, and I especially like the excellent, delicious buffet and the spacious baths where I can truly relax. The Facility is getting old, but it is well maintained and very clean. The courtyard in the accommodation building (?) looks dirty and is covered with a sheet, which doesn’t look very nice. I think it would be great if it could be improved—such as by planting trees—to make it look better.

This was my first time staying here with friends. At check-in, the front desk staff greeted us with a warm smile, which made us feel at ease. The exterior and hallways felt a bit dated, but the Room had been renovated and was very clean and stylish. The view was great too, making our trip even more enjoyable. I didn’t use the bath, so I’m giving it 3 stars, but the shower room was also very clean. A friend accidentally left something important in the car and we suddenly needed to mail it out. When we asked at the front desk, they kindly lent us an envelope and glue (which we were planning to buy at a convenience store) and handled everything quickly—this really helped us a lot. When I was heating up some corn we received in the microwave, a staff member brought over a plate saying, “Would you like to use this?” There were many moments like this where we felt their thoughtful attention to detail. This is a Hotel I would definitely recommend to everyone. I’d love to stay here again if I have the chance.

We chose this Room for our daughter and son-in-law and our 5-month-old grandchild. The baby bath, diaper disposal bin, and even a baby crib in the restaurant were very helpful. Thank you for your thoughtful care. The Onsen water was slightly greenish and pleasantly silky. Since day-use guests are also accepted, you may need to plan your time for the large public bath, but early in the morning it felt like we had it all to ourselves. We would like to visit again.

Thank you for taking care of me on this touring trip! I really appreciated being allowed to park my motorcycle under the eaves by the entrance. The staff included many young women from overseas, and everyone served us politely with constant smiles, so I was able to fully enjoy a satisfying Onsen Accommodation—thank you very much. Next time, I’d like to visit with my wife and daughters as a family, and I look forward to seeing you then. If I may make one request: I had a beer in the floor area next to the front desk, but I was disappointed that the glass was at room temperature (it was a hot day, so it felt lukewarm). I would be grateful if you could consider this. Thank you again for such an enjoyable stay at your Onsen Accommodation. This middle-aged rider will definitely be back!

We stayed for two nights as a family. Just as the Reviews said, the food was delicious and we were very satisfied. However, there was more than we could finish and we ended up leaving some, so we wished there had been a Plan with smaller portions. At dinner, we had seats with a beautiful view of the sunset. If we have another chance to visit Sado, we would definitely like to stay again.

Our family of four stayed here. Dinner featured local cuisine we had never tried before, which was a fun experience and absolutely delicious. The Hida beef steak was very tender, with sweet, rich fat—highly satisfying. There was a minor issue with the air conditioner, but we truly appreciate your sincere and attentive response. Our whole family enjoyed both the Accommodation and the streetscape of Hida-Furukawa. We would love to stay again.

I visited after a mountain hike. At check-in, we were offered only a cold hand towel, with no tea or sweets, and were shown to our Room. The Accommodation is small, but it felt clean throughout, including the Room, so we were able to stay comfortably in that respect. There was also complimentary beer service, but it was a bit disappointing that it was served in a cup rather than a mug or glass. The bath uses mineral spring water and has no taste or smell. I didn’t notice anything in particular while soaking, but after a while my skin felt smooth. Also, as time passed my body warmed up nicely, so it’s a good bath. As the Reviews said, the meals featured plenty of Toyama ingredients. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, but I think the dining experience would be even better with some explanation of the dishes. That said, during the meal the staff member in charge only said things like “Here you are” and “I’ll clear these,” which felt a little impersonal. I could hear another staff member serving the table behind us saying things like “Would you like more rice?” and “Would you like seconds?”, so it may depend on each person’s approach—but I wished for slightly more guest-focused service from our attendant. I was also concerned about there being cameras installed in several places; it felt somewhat like being watched. If they were placed more discreetly or with more consideration, it might feel less uncomfortable. Overall though, I think it was a good Accommodation.

This was my third stay. It was my first time visiting in summer, and the lush greenery outside the window was very soothing. There are many international staff members, but everyone works hard and it never feels out of place. This time, I ordered cake and coffee to go from the café lounge, and I really appreciated how a Japanese staff member carefully packed the cup in the cake box so it wouldn’t tip over—such thoughtful attention to detail. I’ll be back again. Thank you very much.

I’ve stayed at many Accommodations where I thought, “This looks different from the photos on the official website…,” so I tried not to expect too much, but I was completely satisfied with everything. The Room was spacious and clean, and the in-room toilet had been renovated—large and comfortable. The footbath was also very relaxing. Both breakfast and dinner were buffet-style and delicious. The staff were all very pleasant as well. By chance, there was a summer festival nearby on the day we stayed, so we enjoyed Bon dancing, food stalls, games, and even a small fireworks display. I would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

I chose this great-value, affordable Plan and decided to visit. When I arrived, a staff member came to greet me and guided me to the parking area and reception, which made me feel very reassured. The Room had been renovated and I was very satisfied. The hot-spring tour was fun, and I especially enjoyed the rose bath. There was plenty of food as well, so I will definitely visit again.

As guests born in the Showa era, we found this wonderful Showa bubble–style Accommodation to be the best. It was spotlessly clean, and both the hot water and the meals were excellent. It was quiet, and we could relax at a leisurely pace. We will visit again together with trips to Oze and Fukiware Falls.

We stayed as two couples. We made the reservation based on the reviews. Upon entering the room, there was a Western-style area with twin beds, a small table, and chairs. Beyond that was a Japanese-style room with a low table and chairs. It was very comfortable to stay in. As for the bath, I personally thought it was nice, but my husband said it felt cold inside and only used it once at night. Dinner was just as delicious as mentioned in the reviews. In comparison, breakfast left a slightly disappointing impression. Overall, I think this accommodation offers great value for money. I would love to visit again if I have the chance!

This was a calm, relaxing Ryokan right in front of Lake Biwa. The three of us—my older sister, my 93-year-old mother, and I—stayed here to celebrate my mother’s birthday. All the staff were very kind, and above all, every meal was delicious and truly enjoyable. The amber tea sweets are Futabaso’s original specialty and were incredibly tasty. I wanted to buy some but had given up because there was no shop on-site. When I asked a staff member, they told me it could be ordered for delivery, and they kindly prepared it for us before we left—making it the perfect souvenir. It was such a comfortable Ryokan that it made me want to book a Multiple Night Stay. Thank you very much to all the staff.

I stayed here again, as I did last year. This time, I split my stay into two parts: 2 nights and then 3 nights—first on the east side, and the last 3 nights on the west side. The west side is better. I plan to stay here again next year.
