The female staff member at reception during check-in impressed me with her proactive, exemplary hospitality. I stay at Hotels for a change of pace, and this Hotel made me feel at ease in every way—facilities, staff, and overall comfort—with no small discomforts. It was part of the Plan, but I gladly took them up on it and stayed for 24 hours. At reception, they said, “Please let us know if there is anything you need,” showing a positive attitude. At the restaurant as well: “Please relax and enjoy your stay.” They even asked, “Did you sleep well?” You don’t often hear that elsewhere. It had been a while since I stayed at a major international chain Hotel, and their training truly showed. The Room design is also charming. I can see why it’s popular with guests from both Japan and abroad.

The food, hot springs, and hospitality were all wonderful. The only downside was that we don’t tolerate alcohol well, so it was a shame we couldn’t fully enjoy the all-inclusive plan. All the staff made our stay very comfortable—thank you very much.

This was my first time staying here. I chose it for the convenient location near the station and the price, and I was very satisfied. The attentive service from both the female and male staff was greatly appreciated. They answered all my questions about the parking lot and facilities clearly, so I could relax and enjoy my stay with peace of mind. Next time, I’d love to try the breakfast and the hot stone spa as well!

It was our first time staying here!! Our dog was thrilled with the spacious yard. In the evening, we relaxed with a BBQ and a campfire—such a great time. There were also drinks and amenities provided, so it’s a perfect 100/100!! We went ahead and made another Reservation. We look forward to staying again next time!!

The Ladies’ Room had a steam feature, and it was fully stocked with cleansing products and face packs, which was very satisfying. The Room also had a large mirror, making it easy to apply makeup. Breakfast included both Japanese and Western options. There were so many delicious-looking dishes that I wanted to try them all. I ended up rushing to finish within the one-hour time limit. Everything was carefully handmade and very tasty.

We stay here mainly for Arashi no Yu, and every time it’s one moving experience after another—thank you again for this visit. The table tennis & darts Room was a hidden gem, and the kids were thrilled! If I had one request, it would be to have some board games the kids can enjoy (even something like UNO) in the table tennis Room or at the front desk—then children wouldn’t get bored even during a Multiple Night Stay. In any case, thank you as always for another wonderful experience.

I was captivated by the soothing scent of hinoki cypress when I arrived. After a bath, I relaxed and cooled down in the kura lounge. No matter when I went, it was beautifully tidy and very comfortable. The room was also close to the sea, and for the first time I fell asleep—and woke up—to the sound of the waves. The meals were wonderful too, with plenty of seasonal local ingredients. I truly had a relaxing stay, and I’d love to visit again in a different season.

This was my first time visiting Togura Kamiyamada Onsen. The proprietress kindly showed me to my room, and I was already in relaxation mode after being served delicious pickles and tea. The hot spring is 100% free-flowing from the source, available 24 hours a day. The water was wonderfully smooth with a gentle sulfur scent, and I enjoyed it many times—after arrival, at night, and again in the morning. And then the meal I had been looking forward to! Every dish was carefully prepared and truly delicious. I also tried the seasonal strawberry liqueur; it wasn’t overly sweet, and the fresh strawberry aroma was delightful. The proprietress served me with a warm smile, and our small conversations were so enjoyable that even though I was traveling solo, I had a wonderful time dining. I also appreciated being able to relax over my meal in the newly renovated private dining room. This was my first visit to Togura Kamiyamada Onsen, and both the baths and the cuisine were outstanding—I’d love to return in another season. Thank you very much.

Thank you for upgrading our Room, which made our stay very comfortable. After working up a sweat at the gym, we took a shower and headed to the lounge. The champagne we enjoyed while feeling the evening breeze became a wonderful travel memory. The freshly cooked rice at breakfast was also delicious, and the hospitality of all the staff was impeccable. This is an outstanding Hotel that I would consider number one among all the Hotels I have stayed at so far. When visiting Osaka, I would definitely like to stay here again.

This was my first stay here, and I felt thoughtful attention to detail throughout, making it a very comfortable experience. First of all, the location—right in front of Kyoto Station’s Hachijo Exit—is extremely convenient. Even with large luggage, getting around was easy, which was a huge help on this trip. Inside the Hotel, the lobby is spacious and there is also a guest-only lounge, which I really appreciated for relaxing. The lounge is accessed by tapping your Room key card, and there is a wide variety of drinks available—not only coffee but also options like matcha latte—free to enjoy. You can even take drinks back to your Room, and I was surprised that the lounge could be used even after check-out. It’s a wonderful service that lets you relax until the very end. And what I especially loved this time was the large public bath. It was kept very clean, with thorough cleaning and well-stocked amenities. During my stay I used it three times—in the evening, at night, and in the morning—and it was pleasant every time. You bring towels from your Room, but just in case you forget, spare towels were prepared at the entrance as well. I really appreciated this kind of consideration for those “small inconveniences.” I felt this is a Hotel that not only has excellent Facilities but also pays close attention to every detail so guests can enjoy their stay comfortably. I liked my stay so much that I would definitely like to stay here again when visiting Kyoto.

I’m always grateful for the wide variety of breakfast options here, and I’ve also noticed that many areas—such as the baths—are barrier-free, which is very reassuring. I’d like to stay here again in the future. In particular, the Onsen doesn’t have rocky, uneven surfaces, so I don’t have to worry about slipping or falling.

I’d heard this hotel was recommended even by locals in Kyoto, so I’d been wanting to stay here—and I finally did on this trip. A perfect 5 out of 5 almost feels impossible, but no matter how hard I try, I can’t find a single thing to complain about. The location and convenience are flawless! From the hotel’s basement level, the subway ticket gates are right in front of you, and JR and Keihan lines are also connected via underground passages. Breakfast was just as delicious as everyone says. I’ll definitely keep this hotel on my shortlist whenever I stay overnight in Kyoto.

We also used the lounge at the sister Hotel, and both lounges were great. At the station-front location, the salted squid and plum wine were delicious, and we went back for seconds several times. They also gave us a map showing where the nearest bus stop to the sister Hotel is and a bus timetable, which made it easy to use. There were many restaurants around the station-front location that all looked good, so it was hard to choose. The ramen shop next door always had a line as well, so I’d like to try it next time. The Room was spacious enough for three adults including my elderly mother to relax comfortably. We could only stay one night this time, but if we have another chance, we’d like to stay two nights. Since it was a hot season, it was also nice that there was Häagen-Dazs ice cream in the freezer. It was a bit disappointing that the washroom lighting felt slightly dim, but overall we were satisfied.

I have stayed at this Accommodation many times, and it was excellent. The meals, baths, views, and Room—everything was completely satisfying. The recent renovation that made it possible to enjoy the view while dining was a nice improvement, but it was a bit uncomfortable making eye contact with guests heading to the baths during the meal.

This was my first stay. At check-in, the female staff member handled the process efficiently with just the right level of friendliness, which left a great impression. Breakfast was exactly as described in the reviews—excellent. I also spoke with a regular guest who seems to visit often, and it really felt like a hotel that guests genuinely love. On the other hand, at check-out all of the front desk staff were men, and they seemed a bit too low-energy. I understand it can be tough after night shifts or from daily fatigue, but even just 10% more energy when seeing guests off would make an even better impression. As for the room, there were some details that caught my eye—scorch marks in the bathroom and grime around the rim of the trash bin. While overall cleaning seemed fine, those small noticeable spots stood out. Breakfast again was just as other reviews said: an excellent variety and great value for money. In particular, beef steak at breakfast might seem surprising to some, but it’s a nice way to start the day with energy. There’s also a wide selection of breads, which makes breakfast something to look forward to.

Stayed with my 2-year-old and 0-year-old grandchildren. The Shinkansen runs very close past the Room window, which thrilled them! It felt like one passed every five minutes. Then airplanes flew by too—an amazing dream combo with the Shinkansen. Thanks to the double windows, we hardly noticed any noise. In fact, we could relax without worrying about our children’s voices bothering other Rooms. We could only faintly hear our grandchild in the next Room from a distance. Breakfast and the large public bath were both excellent. Highly recommended for families with kids who love the Shinkansen. Thank you to all the Hotel staff.

This is my second stay at Hanakoyado. I became a repeat guest because this is where you find the answer to whether high-quality Onsen and gourmet dining can truly be enjoyed at a reasonable price. The traditional wooden building and tiled bath are full of classic Onsen atmosphere. Even more luxuriously, the Kinsen flows continuously, and when you sink into the tub, the overflowing water swirls as it runs off. I also enjoyed a steam bath using the high-temperature source spring. The rice cooked in the okudosan is delicious, and the fish and meat carefully grilled over charcoal with radiant heat are more than satisfying. To top it off, curry rice is served at the end as well. There is an Onsen experience and cuisine here that feel wonderfully untouched by modern times.

Although the weather was poor throughout due to the typhoon, it actually made for an almost private stay. My daughter had seen it in a magazine and was looking forward to it, and it was just as relaxing as we had hoped. The hot stone spa, baths, and meals were all exactly as described in the magazine and brochures—nothing to complain about—but above all, the staff’s thoughtfulness was outstanding, and even with just one night we were able to relax both physically and mentally. I was coming down with a slight cold, so I truly appreciated the front desk lady’s subtle kindness and concern. The next day brought clear skies for the first time in a while, and breakfast while enjoying the wonderful ocean view was amazing. Thank you also for accommodating our request during the ride back to the station by stopping at a nearby popular bakery.

This was my third stay. The location is convenient, the rooms are well cleaned, and it was very comfortable. The breakfast had a wide variety of options and was delicious. The large public bath also seemed to be cleaned regularly, so I could relax comfortably. I would like to stay here again when I visit Kyoto.

I stayed in a twin room in the Main Building the night before, but there was no availability for the second night, so I moved to a twin room in the East Building. The East Building is newer than the Main Building and has two elevators. Although I checked out once, there was a service where the staff moved my luggage to the new room. The room had a calm, modern atmosphere, and you can see the river from the window—I imagine it must be wonderful during cherry blossom season. The toilet and bath have no step at the entrance, making it easy to get in and out. There is also a handrail by the bathtub. This room also had their special ion water, which I enjoyed. A safe is provided as well, so valuables feel secure. An early-morning walking event was planned, and it seems the president personally guides guests along the riverside. I wanted to join, but unfortunately it rained. I was also looking forward to an excellent breakfast after the walk. Perhaps because it was a weekday, breakfast wasn’t very crowded—when I went at 6:30 a.m., there was no wait. There were plenty of restaurant staff; dishes were replenished constantly, and tables were cleared and reset quickly whenever they opened up—very pleasant service. There are several local specialties, introduced with informational panels. One minor inconvenience: if you stay in the East Building, you need to go down to the first floor before heading to the Main Building’s breakfast venue. Also, since both the coin laundry and hot spring are on an upper floor of the East Building, staying in the Main Building might feel less convenient for those facilities. I regret not using onsen this time. When traveling toward Fukui again, this is a hotel I would choose on purpose. A great choice—highly recommended.
