This was my first trip to Hakodate. There is only one direct flight a day from Nagoya, and I was incredibly lucky to get a ticket. Visiting a new place for the first time is so exciting. The Room had huge floor-to-ceiling windows with a panoramic view of Mt. Hakodate. The space was generous, and the bathtub and sink were spacious as well. The lighting switches were thoughtfully placed throughout, making everything very convenient—it was almost too comfortable! Dinner at Kita Jin (booked separately) was also excellent: premium Genghis Khan in a private room, relaxed and delicious. Breakfast was around 8:00, and we were seated right away. We came without much prior knowledge and were amazed by the variety—and even more by the quality of every dish. My spouse and I travel all over the whole country, and this may have been our best breakfast ever. Personally, I loved the eel snack with tea, dim sum, sashimi, chiffon cake, and egg tarts. What stayed with us most from this trip was meeting so many wonderful people in Hakodate: The kind driver with a great smile on the airport limousine bus. At lunchtime at Lucky Pierrot near the station—busy as it was—a female staff member still let us draw an Ichiban Kuji lottery ticket and gave us a pin badge with a big smile. At NIPPONIA Hotel Hakodate Port Town on our first day—a female staff member kindly explained everything and gave us a hand-drawn illustrated map of nearby spots within walking distance. On an evening sightseeing taxi tour to see Mt. Hakodate’s night view—a female driver born in Hakodate from Donan Taxi carefully explained local history, the Western-style houses in Motomachi, and the origins of Soma-tei. The staff who made our motorboat cruise even more enjoyable under clear skies the next day. At lunch near the station at Uni Specialty Shop Yoichiya—a female employee whose attentiveness and refined service truly impressed us. And above all, at Century Marina’s front desk—the female staff member who kindly explained everything for our first stay left a wonderful impression with her polite service; of course, the male staff member at checkout was also outstanding. The quick yet courteous service at Kita Jin was excellent as well—we are truly grateful to have stayed at this Hotel. It was an intense 2-night/3-day trip to Hakodate, but seeing everyone working so hard to make their city shine really moved us—it looked genuinely inspiring. We will definitely come again. I truly fell in love with historic Hakodate from the bottom of my heart!

My wife and I stayed for two nights over a weekend trip. Unfortunately, it rained, so we couldn’t fully enjoy sightseeing in Kanazawa as planned. However, the time we spent at the Hotel was incredibly comfortable, and thanks to the wonderful lounge and the thoughtful care of all the staff, it turned into a truly satisfying stay. We arrived at the Hotel around noon. Our car was taken care of with valet service, which made it easy for us to head to Omicho Market. We enjoyed rock oysters, Noto beef croquettes, grilled scallop skewers, and more. When we returned to the Hotel around 2:00 p.m., even though it was before check-in time, we were kindly told that our Room was already ready. The Room was spotless and had a calm atmosphere—such a welcome gesture after walking in the rain. What I had been looking forward to most during this stay was the club lounge. We were amazed by how well stocked it was: their famous cakes, sandwiches, a wide selection of drinks, and even Häagen-Dazs ice cream. The evening offerings were also excellent—far beyond what you’d expect from “just a lounge,” and more than enough for us as dinner. We were also excited about breakfast. Although we had to wait a little due to full seating, the food exceeded our expectations. It felt distinctly Kanazawa-like as well, and we were very satisfied. Above all else, what left the strongest impression was the staff’s smiles and hospitality. Throughout our two-night stay, every staff member greeted us with genuine warmth, and their attentive care comforted us again and again. Even when checking out and leaving, there was one last pleasant surprise. When our car was brought to the entrance via valet service, chilled mineral water had been placed in the cup holders. My wife and I were truly touched by such thoughtfulness until the very end. Since we couldn’t do as much sightseeing in Kanazawa due to the rain this time around، our time at this Hotel became an especially memorable part of our trip. When we visit Kanazawa again، we would definitely love to stay here. To all of your staff، thank you very much for an amazing two nights and three days.

I stayed here to celebrate a friend’s birthday. My friend asked me to choose the Accommodation, and I booked Takitei without hesitation. We were extremely satisfied! The Room, baths, meals, and attentive service were all wonderful. Since it was a birthday, we also received such warm hospitality, and my friend was truly delighted. My friend especially loved the jibuni served at dinner. Thanks to you, I was able to spend a wonderful time with friends I hadn’t seen in a while. I’m filled with gratitude. I would love to visit again.

We celebrated his birthday here. We chose this Accommodation to celebrate as the last couple before we become husband and wife when we visit Shimabara again next year. We were truly impressed by the staff’s thoughtful hospitality, and the locally sourced cuisine was absolutely delicious. The in-Room sauna and bath were both excellent. Everything was perfect.

Located right in front of Sakata Station, this was a very clean Hotel. At the breakfast buffet, we enjoyed local Yamagata specialties such as “dashi,” “imoni” (taro stew), “mukisoba,” and Sakata ramen. Perhaps because of the season, there was also squid sashimi, making it a very satisfying meal. I rated the bath lower only because our Room had a unit bath and we did not use the Onsen, so I gave an average score. That said, the bathroom was very clean as well. Opinions may vary, but I personally liked that there were two types of showers. It’s a Hotel I would like to stay at again. If I had to mention one downside, smoking areas are limited to outdoors and the 3rd floor only, which may feel inconvenient for smokers.

I had reserved a triple room, but one of my companions wasn’t feeling well, and you kindly changed it to a twin and a single. I truly appreciated your support. What’s more, the rate stayed the same—I couldn’t believe it. Thank you very much. I also enjoyed the bath both at night and in the morning. Breakfast was delicious and therefore crowded, but we could check our place in line online, so it wasn’t any hassle. In Otaru, Dormy Inn is the best choice.

In June 2026, I stayed one night at Dormy Inn Kanazawa. It’s close to the station, and it was great that they could store my luggage when I arrived in Kanazawa, and also keep it for me after checkout the next day. The Room was simple and very clean. The air conditioner had a remote control, so I could adjust it myself, which was convenient. There was water and some snacks in the refrigerator, and I enjoyed them. The Onsen is on the 14th floor, and you can go there in loungewear and slippers. Shampoo, conditioner, and body soap are provided, and at the sinks there is a hair dryer as well as toner and lotion. After the Onsen, I also had ice cream and coffee. In the morning you can have a probiotic drink. However, when I went at night it was crowded, and some guests reserved washing stations by leaving their personal items there even though shelves are provided for belongings—so I had to wait a few minutes. That’s why my rating is 4 stars. It would be helpful if a clear notice could be posted to discourage this behavior so everyone can use the facilities comfortably. There is also complimentary “yonaki soba” (late-night noodles) served after 9:00 p.m., and since the portion isn’t large it was easy to finish. I traveled with my family, and they also said they liked the Onsen very much. My overall impression: great location near the station, polite staff service, plus nice extras like ice cream, coffee, and late-night noodles. I would like to stay again.

The outstanding location and delicious cuisine made our stay truly enjoyable. From check-in to check-out, we didn’t run into any other guests even once, so we were able to relax completely without any stress. It was also great to have a private dining area right next to our Room, allowing us to enjoy our meals without worrying about others. We didn’t need to walk around for the bath or meals, and could unwind comfortably in our Room. Even my husband, who rarely gives compliments, spoke very highly of everything. The courteous service from all the staff was also excellent, and we are truly grateful.

We stay here every August with my three sisters’ families. This year we were lucky with the weather and had a great time in the pool, enjoyed table tennis, and both my daughter and grandchildren were very satisfied. They also prepared a private dining room for dinner, so we could eat without worrying even when our 2-year-old grandchild was running around. Of course, the food was delicious. All of the staff were very kind, and we are especially grateful for the service at dinner. We plan to stay again next year.

Overall, it was a compact Accommodation, but perhaps because it is new, it was very clean and comfortable. Although it is a new Facility, the in-room TV was not a smart TV, so I’m deducting one star; however, the breakfast was delicious, and Nono is wonderful as always.

This is a refined Accommodation for adults. We requested the special course meal, and it was so satisfying that it may have been the best food we’ve had among all the Accommodations we’ve stayed at! The staff’s service was also polite and excellent. Relax while enjoying views of the sea on the Oga Peninsula. Late-night snacks are hardly available, so if you tend to get hungry, it’s best to buy something and bring it with you.

I stayed here on my first solo trip around Shikoku. I only knew Ehime for its citrus and sea bream rice, but the dishes made with local ingredients served here were unbelievably delicious. They also noted where each ingredient was sourced, which made me want to explore more of Ehime. The Room was amazing with a reservoir view—an incredibly luxurious space. It got plenty of sun and was already very hot even at 5 a.m., so I didn’t spend much time relaxing on the terrace, but walking around the reservoir was very pleasant. I’d love to visit again in a different season.

This was my second stay at this auberge. I was deeply moved on my previous visit, so this time I brought my family. The simple Room felt very relaxing, and the thoughtfully prepared cuisine was not only delicious but also beautiful to look at. Everyone who served the meals—led by Madame and the chef—was courteous and kind, making both dinner and breakfast truly wonderful. Everything we purchased to take home, including paella, hamburg steak, jam, and cheesecake, was delicious; even now, about a month after our stay, they bring back fond memories of Auberge de Oishi.

From arrival to departure, the staff treated us with great care, and we had a very pleasant stay. The service was impeccable. The Room retains the charm of a traditional Japanese house while offering a calm, spacious layout for relaxing. In addition to the deck, there is also an area with a sofa where you can sit and take in the outdoor scenery at your leisure, which made it easy to unwind. Unfortunately, it rained quite heavily during our stay, so we couldn’t enjoy the deck as much as we had hoped. The Onsen was also wonderful—you can soak in free-flowing natural hot spring water whenever you like. The bathtub was spacious enough to relax and fully enjoy the Onsen. There is a separate shower room in front of the bathing area as well, which made it convenient to wash before getting into the tub. What left the strongest impression on us in particular was the cuisine. Fresh seafood was used generously, and every dish was absolutely delicious. Although we weren’t blessed with good weather this time and couldn’t see the sunset we had been looking forward to, we still thoroughly enjoyed simply spending time at this Accommodation. Being able to relax so comfortably even on a rainy day may be something unique to Ujo Soan. We were highly satisfied with everything—service, Room, Onsen, and meals—and it’s an Accommodation we would love to visit again.

This was a Hotel I had always wanted to visit. The interior had a calm atmosphere, like a Relais & Châteaux in the European countryside. The library’s book selection and the décor suited my taste, and after working up a sweat in the Onsen, I was able to relax and enjoy reading at leisure. The restaurant had an unpretentious feel, and the staff’s understated yet attentive service was very pleasant. We thoroughly enjoyed local seafood and mountain produce from the Goto Islands. The optional breakfast menu was also excellent, and being able to add items for free is a great value. Although it rained throughout our trip to the Goto Islands this time, I took it as an opportunity to come back again, and I look forward to staying with you at Margherita again.

Hotel New Grand is irresistible for lovers of classic Hotels—everywhere inside feels like a scene from a movie. Please, please don’t do a full renovation and turn it into a modern Hotel; keep this irreplaceable space as it is with careful refurbishments. Dinner and breakfast at Normandy were, needless to say, delicious, and the wine went down easily too. I also enjoyed an elegant time at the bar, and the seaside walk afterward became a cherished memory. The staff’s courteous service was wonderful, and no matter how busy it was, time seemed to flow at an unhurried pace. It reminded me once again that the Hotel staff’s love for—and pride in—the Hotel is what creates this atmosphere.

This Accommodation was the final stop on our 3-night, 4-day summer trip through Okayama, Tottori, and Shimane, and it was truly a wonderful place to end our journey. Check-in was very courteous and smooth, and I was surprised—in a good way—that an attendant escorted us to our Room while explaining the building along the way, which is rare these days. They also carefully explained everything in the Room, and I was impressed by the traditional level of hospitality. The Room had great taste, and the open-air bath in the Room was free-flowing Onsen water. It was a bit hot, but adding some water quickly made it comfortable enough to enter, so we enjoyed it many times during our stay. With Rooms that have an open-air Onsen bath, insects often get into either the bath or the Room, but for some reason we had no such issues here and were comfortable throughout. Dinner was served in a private room; the attendant’s explanations were thorough, and everything tasted excellent. The final dish seemed especially delicious—my husband and son even asked for seconds. Breakfast was buffet-style. We went at a later time close to last order, but we were not rushed at all and could enjoy our meal comfortably until the end. We chose late check-out as well. Although there were hardly any other guests around at that time (at other Hotels with late check-out there are usually few staff members left and no send-off), they continued to assist us until departure—taking photos for us and seeing us off properly—which felt like outstanding service. In addition, there were foot reflexology massages as well as foot baths, hand baths, and even face baths. Our Plan also included lounge access—all of which we enjoyed. It is rare to find such a large Ryokan (Hotel) with excellent Facility offerings, ample staffing levels, great service, plus wonderful meals and Onsen. It really shows their dedication. We had a very satisfying stay. Thank you very much.

We stayed with you at the beginning of August. We visited with 2 adults and 3 children (6th grade, 3rd grade, and kindergarten), and everyone was extremely satisfied. Our Room was the Deluxe Kousuiden with an open-air bath, and the atmosphere of the private open-air bath was amazing—our kids went in so many times we lost count! (LOL) Of course, the shared baths were also excellent, and since towels are provided there, we never had to worry about running out no matter how many times we bathed. The dinner buffet wasn’t “buffet-level” at all—it was truly delicious! The sushi, steak, and Häagen-Dazs were all fantastic. It was so good that I even managed to drink less alcohol than usual (LOL). The Facility options for kids were also great (arcade games, lounge, water play area outside the lounge, table tennis, etc.), and our family promised we would definitely come back. Also, my wife accidentally left her wallet in the safe when we checked out. Since we had to catch the dinosaur train, we didn’t have time to go back for it—but your staff checked immediately and reassured us so we could keep enjoying our day without worry. It arrived by mail the day after we got home, which really helped. We’ll definitely come visit again!

From the front desk with a panoramic view of Hakone’s great natural scenery to the Room with a private open-air bath, everything was excellent! The food was also very satisfying. The incense service and drink service were plentiful and much appreciated. The staff were very kind as well. We’ll be back!

This was our second stay. Our whole family loved it last time, so we made a Reservation again without hesitation. The dining here is outstanding—although it’s a buffet, everything looked so good that we wanted to try it all, and every dish was delicious. The Room and the baths were also great, and the nighttime fireworks were beautiful and truly impressive. We’d love to stay again!
