This was my sixth visit in total, and I’m grateful to be moved every time. Thanks to the variety of rooms and the warm hospitality of all the staff, I’m able to truly experience the sense of escape from everyday life that I value when traveling. What impresses me every time, above all, is the food. Dinner in particular has never been the same even once, and the seasonal-themed dishes have become the highlight of each stay. Considering today’s rising costs for all kinds of ingredients, I’m deeply impressed and thankful to see the head chef’s extraordinary creativity and ingenuity reflected in every meal. One note: because the food is so outstanding, you may find yourself drinking more than usual—so if you enjoy alcohol, a bit of self-control is recommended (lol).

Luxury is woven into every corner of this hotel. It is the ultimate retreat where you can feel indulgence with all five senses. From fluffy towels you can truly feel against your skin and wonderfully comfortable bedding, to rooms filled with every comfort, everything here is designed for relaxation. There are also three private reservable natural hot-spring baths—perfect for unwinding at your own pace, warming both body and soul without worrying about anyone else. The cuisine is equally exceptional: beautifully presented, seasonal dishes made with a strong commitment to local ingredients. The in-room minibar also features carefully selected drinks, and the all-inclusive bar counter offers an impressive lineup of fine spirits. And the best background music of all is nature itself—the sounds of insects and birds as you do nothing in particular and simply relax. For those used to city life surrounded by man-made structures, the sweeping rural scenery and the gentle fragrance of seasonal flowers feel like a feast for the heart. This is how “luxury” quietly spreads through every part of you. Above all, the greatest luxury is meeting the wonderful staff. From welcome to farewell, their flawless yet heartfelt hospitality soothes you in every moment—it’s true healing. We always look forward to our conversations with everyone here. Before each stay, it has become our tradition to visit Niutsuhime Shrine—a UNESCO World Heritage Site about five minutes away by car. This time, we joined a talk held from 5:00 PM in the lobby lounge about Niutsuhime Shrine. The storyteller shared fascinating behind-the-scenes stories that only someone closely connected to the shrine could tell; before we knew it, around 30 minutes had flown by. The next day after checkout, we visited Niutsuhime Shrine again and also explored nearby historic spots we learned about during the talk. It allowed us to worship from a completely new perspective—and we discovered power spots we never would have found on our own. The traditional house café near the shrine that was recommended to us was also wonderful, making this trip even more meaningful than ever! We heard these talks will continue on an irregular basis—if one happens during your stay, we highly recommend joining. We also heard that on some days there is a guided visit starting at 7:00 AM (meeting at the lobby lounge) for worship at Niutsuhime Shrine. No matter how many seasons pass or how much time goes by, this is a place we want to return to again and again. It’s truly a blissful hotel—so full of happiness that it feels impossible to find anywhere else!

I took a bus from Tokyo Station, got off at Highway Oasis Furari, and walked a little over 20 minutes. The road is somewhat difficult to walk on, but it’s not a busy street. Bath: Private-use only, with an indoor bath and an open-air bath as a set. It was clean, a comfortable size, and the water temperature wasn’t too hot—really nice. Room: Traditional Japanese-style. The futon was already laid out, so I relaxed and lounged around. There’s also a toilet and washbasin. I visited on a very humid day, so there was that distinctive tatami-room scent—nostalgic. And since there were shoji screens, I naturally woke up with the morning light. Meals: Absolutely amazing—just as rumored. Everything tasted great. It was my first time trying squid-leg croquettes, and they were delicious. Breakfast had lots of options too, and I ended up getting seconds of rice without thinking. The after-meal coffee was also excellent. The sea is close by as well; I went before breakfast and started the day feeling refreshed. Overall, this Accommodation is perfect for anyone who wants to enjoy lots of fish dishes. Everyone greeted me with smiles, so I could relax comfortably and freely throughout my stay. The high ratings were well deserved—I’d love to come again.

Staying at an inn with only three rooms really made me realize how that allows them to serve truly exceptional cuisine. The room we stayed in, “Korin,” had the bath and washbasin located outside the main room, which was a bit inconvenient. However, it comes with a dedicated dining room, so you can focus on the meal right away without leaving your room—and each dish is served at exactly the right moment. It’s been a long time since I so strongly appreciated the happiness of eating hot food while it’s still hot. From the appetizer through the lidded dish and assorted starters to the grilled course, every item brought out the full flavor of its ingredients. The grilled steak in particular surprised me: I honestly didn’t have high expectations for Tochigi Wagyu (sorry!), but it was incredibly tender, with a perfect balance of fat and lean meat. To be frank, we went to a famous steak restaurant in Nikko for dinner the next day, and this steak easily held its own against their Maezawa beef. The finishing soba was also excellent—I regret not ordering a larger portion. They serve two dipping sauces, one warm and one cold; personally, I recommend the cold one. I’m attaching a photo of breakfast as well—breakfast was wonderful too. If I have another chance to visit, I’d love to stay in a different room next time. Thank you very much.

Thank you very much for having us. The Accommodation was spotless, and everything—from the beautiful pool and dog run to the sauna—was perfect. There were plenty of toys for our dog to choose from, and he was thrilled. It was his first time using a pool, but there was also a life jacket for dogs, so he could make his debut in a safe environment. Above all, the owner was incredibly pleasant and supportive. We requested a BBQ set at short notice, and they kindly accommodated us. They also recommended nearby markets, which helped us enjoy our meals as well. Even though it was only one night, it was a very satisfying stay. Early check-in and late check-out are rare at other places, so that was extremely helpful. Most of all, seeing our dog relaxed and happy throughout made us truly happy. We would love to stay again! Thank you very much.

From arrival by car to departure, we had a very pleasant stay. All the staff were cheerful and very kind, and the meals were excellent. When we left by car, it was especially memorable that they kept waving until we were out of sight. We would definitely like to stay again.

This was my second visit this year, and it’s soothing no matter when I come. The service strikes just the right balance of attentiveness and privacy, the rooms are spacious, and the meals keep evolving—overall, it’s a place with an exceptionally high level of satisfaction. 　This time in particular, the breakfast—renewed since this spring—was outstanding. In contrast to the gorgeous French dinner, it’s a simple Japanese-style meal, but each dish is truly delicious. They’ve also changed how they cook the rice, and the finishing bowl topped with dashi was superb. 　I’m already looking forward to being impressed again on my next visit.

How many times has it been now—another indulgent stay at Kasumi Onsen. Because my wife has a shellfish allergy, we avoid the Matsuba crab season, but during the spring and autumn Kasumi crab seasons we make a special request to have her crab portion replaced with nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch)—we’re truly demanding guests. I enjoy the crab, while my wife is served an unbelievably large nodoguro, perfectly grilled with salt (and I get to taste a bit of it too). Even though we’re asking for two different meals for two people, the staff not only welcome us with warm smiles, but also stop by for a chat when they have time and tell us about caring for their rice fields and plum trees. In short, while we’re here they let us do whatever we like freely—and whenever we need help, they come right away. As long as this hospitality continues, a stay at ICHIJO is guaranteed to be delicious, fun, and delightful. Top-quality ingredients, wonderful料理料理?

I love Okinawa and visit more than once a year with my child. I’ve stayed at most hotels there, and this is the kind of hotel that feels like a sensory breakthrough from the moment you step inside. Among hotels in Okinawa in the same class, it may be the best in both service and facilities. The airport transfers to and from Naha Airport were both in an Alphard. On the way back, our female driver (a foreign national) provided an especially comfortable ride. Arriving at the lobby after dozing off on the way, we were greeted by a breathtaking view—enjoying a welcome drink while looking out over the beautiful sea. From our room as well, we had an uninterrupted view of blue skies and an emerald-green ocean. The private pool is also an infinity pool, so it felt wonderful no matter how many times we went in. There were floats for both adults and children. For dinner, we chose sushi kaiseki on the first night and French on the second. Wanting to relax in our room with our child, we asked to switch the sushi kaiseki to room service; they set it up side by side facing the window so we could enjoy it while watching the sunset—it was absolutely delicious. The presentation showed great craftsmanship, with exceptional freshness and flavor! For French dinner, we were shown to a private room as well, where we could unwind comfortably on a sofa while dining. It’s said to be ranked No. 1 on Ikkyu as a “gourmet destination,” and I completely agree—beautiful French cuisine that truly highlights each ingredient’s natural taste. Even at luxury hotels there are often many “kids’ menu” options, but here they wonderfully adapted it into a full-course children’s meal; my child usually leaves food behind but finished everything. I don’t drink alcohol, but the lounge offered Okinawan spirits and beer along with bite-sized savory snacks and sweets that paired well—everything tasted great. They were also very kind to my child throughout our stay. This is definitely a hotel I want to return to!

Just like last time, we had a very comfortable stay. True to the name “Sunset Village,” dinner while watching the stunning sunset—so much like being at an overseas resort—was truly delightful. Our beloved dog, who is like family to us, ran freely around the spacious dog run and relaxed indoors as well; simply watching was soothing. We are very satisfied with the well-maintained facilities and the clean, comfortable environment. If possible, having a standing fan or air circulator would be convenient when we want to cool down on the BBQ terrace or indoors. We would appreciate your consideration. From the large windows and terrace, we could gaze at the huge trees right in front of us, many boats floating on the sea, and the scenery across the water—it’s easy to lose track of time. We’re already looking forward to our next stay. Thank you very much for taking care of us.

We enjoyed a “staycation,” with lounge hopping across four lounges as the main highlight. First, we walked from Shinagawa Station to the Hotel, but IKYU’s directions said “cross Daiichi Keihan…,” so we crossed the signal right after exiting the Takanawa Exit. However, the route to the right after crossing was blocked due to construction, so we had to turn back. After exiting the Takanawa Exit, it’s best to turn right and walk along Daiichi Keihan, then turn left at the first traffic light onto Sakura-zaka. Alternatively, since it’s a continuous uphill slope, I think taking the shuttle bus would be a good option. We visited all four lounges, and as expected, Hana-Kouro’s lounge was the most relaxing; the drinks were also of higher quality and excellent. The champagne during cocktail time—and Dassai—was a real treat. We also enjoyed tasting different sake. There were some light bites during cocktail time, but it would have been even better if there had been additional hors d’oeuvres. Breakfast was delicious as well. It was our first time trying a matcha grinding experience, and we really enjoyed it. At the lounge, the staff maintained just the right level of attentiveness throughout without being intrusive, which made it very comfortable. Thank you very much for taking such great care of us. I had a wonderfully relaxing stay at a comfortable pace. It was quiet and spotless throughout, and the Onsen was incredibly open and wonderful. Every meal was deeply delicious. The staff were also very pleasant and welcoming. I feel as if both my body and mind have been refreshed. I can hardly believe how reasonably priced it is. Thank you very much. I will definitely return.

During our trip from the main island to Miyakojima, we stayed here for the entire time on the main island. The Room was spacious and very clean! We were truly touched by the honeymoon towel art and flowers that were prepared for us. The view of the ocean and Kouri Bridge from the Room was breathtaking. My husband was thrilled with the Agu pork shabu-shabu dinner. We also dined at a restaurant in the Hotel group, and it was delicious and stylish as well. Breakfast was delivered to our Room, and even during our Multiple Night Stay, they changed the menu each day—everything was so thoughtful. We had a wonderfully relaxing Hotel stay while enjoying a resort atmosphere, and our time on Kouri Island became an unforgettable memory. Thank you very much. We would love to stay again someday.

It was two days full of surprise and inspiration. I only knew it was a museum Hotel, and to be honest, I came mainly for Briance—but it truly felt like an actual museum. Even while exploring the building, the staff kindly provided detailed explanations, which made it even more enjoyable. Every piece is one of a kind, and through the art tour program we also received in-depth commentary. I understood why so many guests return again and again, and it made me want to explore even more myself. The Room was very comfortable and easy to use, the lounge food was delicious, and even though we had dinner at Briance—the original purpose of our visit—we ended up fully enjoying the bar and lounge as well. The wonderful smiles and thoughtful hospitality from all the staff were outstanding, allowing us to spend a truly relaxing holiday. Thank you very much. Needless to say, we thoroughly enjoyed Briance as well.

The warm hospitality and attentive care from all the staff left a strong impression. They kindly answered our questions about the food and the Facility, allowing us to relax and enjoy a comfortable stay. The meals were truly excellent, and I was especially impressed by how delicious the meat dish at dinner was. Thank you for your heartfelt service and delicious food. I would love to visit again.

We stayed in the Silver Building. As it is a new facility, everything felt very clean, and we had a wonderfully comfortable stay. The facilities and amenities were well equipped, with thoughtful attention to detail throughout. The bathroom and kitchen were easy to use, and we remained comfortable even spending long hours indoors. Although it rained during our stay, we never felt inconvenienced thanks to the washer-dryer and the covered terrace where we could enjoy a BBQ. Our dog also settled in quickly, which gave us peace of mind. The staff were very kind as well, making our stay even more pleasant. We would definitely like to stay again.

At IKYU, it was categorized as casual, but we enjoyed a luxurious Onsen experience that felt like staying at a private villa. The Room had a spacious washroom, and the toilet being separate was also convenient. The heater in the Room was turned on in advance, so we stayed warm without needing to use the air conditioner. Various thoughtful touches were noticeable throughout, and I heard that adjustments are made regularly. It had such a pleasant atmosphere that made us wish to stay longer. Here are some points of concern: It would be helpful if spare foot mats were provided for the private bath so they can be replaced after use. The abundance of wash towels was very convenient. A single fresh flower in the Room would add charm since there were flowers in the dining area. During meal service, providing more details about local ingredients or cooking methods would be appreciated by travelers—it may require extra effort from staff but makes for enjoyable conversations while savoring meals. Having a menu list would also enhance the dining experience further.

Located roughly across the river from the Nagatoro Iwadatami (not within walking distance). This is a small, well-serviced Hotel surrounded by quiet woods with an atmosphere reminiscent of Karuizawa; though compact, it is well equipped and stocked with amenities. Dinner and breakfast are Japanese-style creative full-course meals, better suited to adults. Some Rooms feature private open-air baths, and there are also free private reservable baths, making it a good choice for guests who value privacy. The building is old, but filled with tasteful furnishings that create a charming ambiance. With only a few Rooms, the staff can provide attentive service to each party. Nights are very quiet, accompanied by the sounds of insects. There are two EV chargers (6 kW TerraCharge) in the guest-only parking area; if you drive an electric vehicle, it’s best to let them know in advance.

There is no large public bath, but every Room has its own Onsen, and it was easy to adjust the temperature. I was able to relax and enjoy the Onsen at my leisure in the open-air bath. Overall, it was a stay that made me want to visit again. For dinner, we ordered sukiyaki. The beef was very well-marbled yet extremely easy to eat—light and melt-in-your-mouth—and the portion size was just right to finish comfortably. Breakfast was a bit light and on the smaller side, but since dinner is meat-focused, I felt it was well balanced. The only disappointing point was that perhaps because it is for men only, there were no skincare items like toner or lotion in the Room. When traveling, it’s inconvenient to carry these so I usually don’t bring them; at high-end Ryokan these days they are typically provided everywhere, so I was surprised they weren’t available. Even women’s versions would be fine—I think you should provide them. Those who don’t need them simply won’t use them. Other amenities such as heated eye masks and facial packs were very well stocked.

You can enjoy Maruki Winery, one of Japan’s oldest wineries, all day long while taking in a beautiful Japanese garden. For dinner, we had a tea-ceremony kaiseki meal—one delight after another. The Room also comes with a private Onsen bath featuring 100% free-flowing natural spring water rich in sulfur. We learned how to spend time slowly and luxuriously in true bliss—an ideal adult getaway. This is truly the best Accommodation. Next time, we’ll book a Multiple Night Stay.
