Hotel Sun Abashiri

The Facility is old, but it’s well cleaned and very tidy. The amenities were fully provided and made for a comfortable stay. The kids struggled a bit with the unfamiliar 3-piece unit bathroom, but it was a good experience. Personally, I was impressed by how easy the combination of the hair dryer holder and cable clip was to use. Yukata are also provided (they were better than those at a large lakeside Hotel). Since we only needed a place to sleep that day, the Facilities and service were more than sufficient. It’s conveniently located close to both the station and the bus stop. In the morning, we had a set breakfast at the Sukiya next door. I’d like to stay again and would recommend it.

I stayed here with my son on 8/5, arriving by car.The location is unbeatable—just steps from Abashiri Station, with a great view of trains coming and going. It also offers excellent access to sightseeing around the city, including the Abashiri Prison Museum.While some parts of the Room and Facility feel slightly dated, everything is kept very clean and well maintained, and I had absolutely no complaints.Above all, the owner and staff showed truly warm, thoughtful hospitality. Not only I but also my train-loving son was deeply impressed.Using this Hotel as our base—entering Abashiri Station the next morning, enjoying an ekiben, and spending precious time together—became an irreplaceable memory for us.I will definitely stay again if I have the chance.
