Izu Nagaoka Onsen Hotel Akane

I don’t usually post Reviews, but I was so impressed that I had to share.I’ve stayed at many Hotels in this price range, but this was the first time the meals were this outstanding. The table was set for what looked like eight people even though it was supposed to be for four, so I assumed we’d be sharing—then it turned out it was all for just four! It was luxurious and delicious, and I was amazed. The staff’s service was also excellent: when our drinks ran low, they brought refills right away without us having to ask, and when I started thinking I’d like some rice, they asked if we’d like more. Their attention to detail was exceptional, and as someone who usually works on the service side, it felt like pure bliss.The baths were great as well—one open-air bath was especially spacious—and the Room was large, clean, and very comfortable.The only thing that bothered me a little was that I couldn’t adjust the air conditioner properly during the night; otherwise everything was perfect.

The food was delicious, and I ended up drinking a bit too much for the first time in a while. The bath was just the right size, and I could relax comfortably and warm up thoroughly. The Room was cleaned carefully, and the toilet was kept very clean, making for a very pleasant stay. I would like to stay again.*The weather was quite cloudy and not ideal for seeing Mt. Fuji, but the clouds cleared briefly and we were able to see it.*
