Hotel Wakamatsu Excel

I stayed here for the first time this February and returned because it was such great value for money. I think the price including breakfast is excellent. There is no shower in the Room, but there is a large public bath, and the front desk staff are pleasant and helpful. However, there are few convenience stores or places to eat within walking distance, and the parking lot was gravel rather than asphalt.

This is my favorite Hotel because it’s affordable even with the breakfast buffet included. I had always stayed in the new wing, but I saw that the main building had been renovated and there was availability, so I tried a Japanese-style room in the main building for the first time. The tatami mats and other areas were indeed clean. However, there was no full-length mirror (maybe because it was a Japanese-style room? There was one in the new wing), which was disappointing. Also, it felt like I could hear door opening and closing noises more easily in the main building, so next time I plan to stay in the new wing again.Areas I’d like improved:1) There is only one hair dryer in the women’s bath, so please add more.2) Whether using a bed or futon, outlets are far away and it’s difficult to keep my phone by my pillow while charging, so please provide an extension cord.I could bring one myself, but I tend to forget…
