It was pleasant that everything—from the lobby and hallways to inside the elevator—was covered with tatami mats. Right after check-in, we were welcomed with cold matcha tea, which was a nice touch. Both breakfast and dinner were served in a private room across the hallway. The simmered kinki (rockfish) was especially delicious. The staff were also very attentive. I think it would have been perfect if face towels were provided in the large public bath.

I stayed at Oga Hotel because I wanted to see the stone-grilled hot pot. They showed me something truly wonderful. Dinner was a full-course meal, and it was very delicious and satisfying. A bath basket was provided in the Room, which was very convenient for going to the large public bath. Although the Hotel itself is not new, the staff were very pleasant, and I’m glad I chose this Hotel.

A relocated samurai residence Accommodation that appears tucked away in the mountains. The Room was very spacious and spotless, with thoughtful touches throughout and plenty of cherry-bark craftsmanship—exceptionally comfortable, and I couldn’t stop admiring it. On the Room terrace, I relaxed while listening to insects and birds, and the private open-air Onsen bath was wonderfully soothing. The meals were also absolutely delicious. Since I always end up going to Hokkaido, this was my first stay in Akita. I chose this Hotel because it’s close to the station, as I planned to ride the Gono Line. Unfortunately, there was torrential rain and the Gono Line was suspended that day, but I’m truly glad I stayed here. All of the staff were pleasant and attentive, with just the right sense of distance. The lounge had a very relaxing atmosphere, and both tea time and cocktail time were extremely satisfying. They mentioned they have around 10 kinds of Akita local sake, and that their recommendations keep increasing little by little. There were also shochu, draft beer, bottled beer, sparkling wine, wine, and more. Just as other Reviews said before my trip, everything was delicious—marinated fresh fish, chilled pork shabu-shabu, iburigakko with cheese, as well as warm chicken dishes and fish dishes. A lady next to me said she has stayed here many times. It’s close to the station and you can get there without getting wet in the rain. I arrived at 1:00 p.m. planning only to leave my luggage, but they told me my Room was ready so I could check in early. After strolling around Kubota Castle Ruins and the park right in front of the Hotel, I went back to the station and bought a cute Akita dog T-shirt and tote bag for my grandchild. Breakfast also had a great lineup full of Akita specialties—kiritanpo and onigiri where you can choose both rice type and fillings—so it’s been a while since I felt completely full from breakfast. There were still items I didn’t get to try yet, so I’ll definitely stay again—and next time I’ll ride the Gono Line.

This is my fourth stay. Although the building is old, the rooms are clean and very comfortable. Breakfast is one of the highlights, and I enjoy a delicious breakfast every time—this time was excellent as well! The on-site museum also has an impressive collection that is well worth seeing. I will stay here again the next time I visit Yurihonjo.

I stayed for 3 nights and 4 days on my second visit, as I had business in the neighboring town of Gimpo. The weather was great every day, and I was able to see beautiful sunsets. The Room had tatami flooring with a single bed and was very comfortable to stay in. If I had to mention something, the water flow at the sink was weak and the drainage was poor. I was told this Room does not have a bath, but it wasn’t an issue because I used the large public Onsen bath every day. Unlike my previous impression, everyone at the front desk was kind and helpful, which made me happy. The restaurant was also clean, and I appreciated the staff’s attentiveness. This Accommodation is conveniently located near a roadside station, as well as convenience stores and drugstores nearby.

The bath water was silky-smooth, making it incredibly relaxing and wonderful.

I stayed with a motorcycle, and they kindly let me park under the eaves by the entrance. Also, I was truly happy that I could use the 8th-floor panoramic bath and the attached bathing Facility for free! However, my room was on the east side of the 7th floor, so it got strong morning sun and was scorching hot from early on even with the air conditioner set to high.

My first time on the Oga Peninsula. I chose this Hotel based on Reviews and my budget, and it was even better than I expected. The location, service, baths, and food—everything was extremely satisfying. The dining area is a spacious, comfortable restaurant with an ocean view. The Japanese kaiseki dinner was delicious from the appetizers to dessert. Personally, I especially enjoyed the sashimi, simmered sea bream head, and bitter melon & myoga tempura. Breakfast was also a well-balanced Japanese meal. Since I don’t like buffet-style dining, that made it even better for me. I used the baths three times, and maybe my timing was lucky because each time it felt like having them all to myself. In the open-air bath, I could relax while soaking and looking out at the sea. It seems the restaurant is also open for lunch; when I checked the menu, items like shrimp tempura rice bowl and Inaniwa udon looked great. Next time I’d like to book a Multiple Night Stay and try lunch as well. The Hotel staff handled everything—from the front desk to restaurant service to Shuttle Service—and I was impressed by how hard they worked. This is a wonderful Hotel with unbeatable value that makes me want to come back again if I get the chance!!

We were very satisfied with the views, the meals, and the staff’s service. Cold water was available before and after bathing, and the Room was kept very clean. There were some insects floating in the open-air bath, but that is to be expected at an Accommodation in the mountains; anyone who complains about it has forgotten that they are in nature. We would like to stay again.

The staff at the accommodation were incredibly helpful. We stayed during the year-end, and the interior of the yurt was so warm and comfortable that we couldn't feel the cold outside. The dinner options, including the hot pot course and barbecue course, were abundant with plenty of meat, vegetables, mushrooms, appetizers, and even ice cream for dessert. We were completely satisfied. One member of our group couldn't eat meat, so we requested in advance to substitute seafood for the hot pot meat. The staff handled this request kindly and attentively. Breakfast was served buffet-style with bread, soup, coffee/juice, fried rice (which was especially delicious), fresh vegetable salad—all of which were delightful and satisfying. We also received free tickets to a nearby onsen facility. Bringing along a towel set from our bungalow that could be returned at the onsen made it convenient to enjoy outdoor baths, löyly sessions, and saunas before heading back home. Every aspect of our stay was thoughtfully arranged for an exceptional experience. Highly recommended!
