From arrival by car to departure, we had a very pleasant stay. All the staff were cheerful and very kind, and the meals were excellent. When we left by car, it was especially memorable that they kept waving until we were out of sight. We would definitely like to stay again.

I’d love to visit again. It couldn’t have been more comfortable. Warm and kind, with just the right amount of distance—truly relaxing from the heart. So this is what hospitality is. The staff’s teamwork was wonderful, and somehow it felt like coming home. Making my own onsen egg was fun, too. We stayed in a special room; it was spacious and excellent, with a massage chair as well. My family and I even said we should have stayed one more night. We were also able to use the new lounge called Waraku. After the hot springs, we could relax in our yukata at Waraku while enjoying drinks and light snacks.

It was unusual to switch to socks throughout the entire property after check-in, but it was very comfortable for my travel-weary feet and I really appreciated it. Unnecessary items were kept to a minimum, while essentials like the down duvet and bath towels were high quality. Thanks to that, I slept very well. There was water for each guest and peach jelly in the room, which was a nice touch. The large public bath was also very clean. The open-air bath was fun because we could hear dinosaur calls. I was happy to have so many small breakfast dishes to choose from.

I’ve stayed at Dormy Inn in other cities, but this Fukui location has a spacious, spotless public bath that made it feel like a real hot-spring trip. There’s a welcome coffee machine in the entrance, and from the evening you can enjoy a lounge-style service with alcohol and light snacks for 1,500 yen. With late-night soba, ice cream after bathing, and other thoughtful touches, it’s an easy-to-use hotel with excellent value for money and great convenience. It was a bit of a walk from the station, but there were appealing areas along the way and I enjoyed the stroll. At breakfast they prepared Echizen soba to order, and there were also Fukui specialties—everything was delicious and helped me start my workday feeling refreshed. There aren’t many hotels around Fukui Station, but in this price range I think this one offers outstanding value.

We stayed here on our family’s first trip to Hokuriku. The room, hot spring, meals, and staff were all wonderful, and our whole family was very satisfied. As the one who planned the schedule and chose the accommodation, I was truly happy to see everyone enjoy it so much. We would definitely love to stay again.

My wife is currently undergoing medical treatment, so I contacted the property in advance with two or three requests. They kindly accommodated them, and we had a wonderful stay. The staff were also very courteous.

I’ve stayed at many Rakuten-listed accommodations, and this room was easy to use and the best among all the Rakuten properties I’ve stayed at. As for the meals, I don’t think anything other than the hot pot is necessary. I was also a bit concerned about the smell of the rice. Still, if I come back to Awara Onsen again, I’ll stay here.

I loved the Japanese-modern exterior and the chic, calming interior. The guest room had a high ceiling, and the alcove lantern added a wonderful traditional touch—I could really feel the good taste in the design. I heard there are only about 10 rooms in total, so the hot spring was never crowded and I could soak at my leisure. Dinner featured a wide variety of dishes using summer vegetables, seasonal fish, and local ingredients; I was very satisfied with the gentle seasoning. The chilled edamame soup was something I’d love to have again. Breakfast also offered plenty of options and generous portions—above all, the rice was delicious. From welcome to farewell, I felt truly high-quality service in every interaction with the staff. It was a stay that reminded me how glad I am to choose a ryokan again after so long. Highly recommended!

The hotel was very conveniently located close to the station. The room was spacious for a single business-hotel room, and the bed was large and comfortable. The clean room, large public bath, and complimentary ramen at night were all excellent. Also, having an 11:00 AM checkout gave us extra time, which was very helpful.

The Accommodation staff were very pleasant, and the Room was thoughtfully designed and comfortable to stay in. I also really appreciated that the Room was arranged just as I had requested. The water provided was the same brand I regularly have delivered at home, which made me so happy. The meals were truly outstanding. I’m a Fukui resident, and I was amazed to see local ingredients transformed into dishes like this—and everything tasted wonderful. The service was attentive and felt polished. The artwork on display and the plants grown in the center created a great atmosphere. The table layout also felt perfectly spaced from other guests, so it really felt like we could enjoy a delicious meal with just the right amount of privacy, leaving me completely satisfied overall. People from outside the prefecture often ask me about Fukui, so lately I’ve been staying in Fukui and around Kaga to experience things for myself—and this is a place I’d like to recommend to my local friends as well. I’d love to visit the restaurant again. Thank you for such an enjoyable time. *The bath area was clean, but I rated it “4” because it would have been even better if it had an Onsen. That said, it was more convenient than many typical Hotels—so it’s closer to a 5 than not. Since there are plenty of Onsen nearby, I also thought it would be fine to visit a day-use Onsen the next day.*

I chose Haiya as my Accommodation in Awara Onsen for the first time in a year. I still remembered the layout and traditional furnishings of my previous Room (Iwashimizu), so I decided to stay here again. This time, my Room was “Choyo,” and I also loved its classic, traditional atmosphere. Best of all, the Room had an open-air bath, so I could relax and soak at my own pace and enjoy a different feel from the large public bath. As before, the meals featured plenty of locally sourced ingredients, including Wakasa beef, which I was able to savor fully. The many dishes served in tableware that evoked an autumn ambiance also showed the staff’s thoughtful attention to detail. I really like Haiya’s calm, high-quality atmosphere, and I plan to stay here again when I visit Awara Onsen next time.

I stayed here for one night while sightseeing in Fukui. Service at the front desk and restaurant was smooth, and the guidance was accurate and prompt. The room was functional and easy to use, and the bed was comfortable, so I slept well. For breakfast, I had the buffet. There wasn’t a huge selection, but everything was delicious. I arrived by rental car, but the parking entrance was a bit hard to find, so clearer signage would be helpful. Due to the building’s layout, you need to take three different elevators—first from the parking area up to the 3rd floor of the building, then to the front desk floor, and then again to the guestroom floors—which felt a little inconvenient.

The staff were friendly and welcoming. The Room was clean. The unit bath was surprisingly spacious, with a cute orange accent color. The pillow had a unique feel and was comfortable for sleeping. The parking lot is free and spacious, making it easy to park. The coin laundry was cashless via an app, which was very convenient. I would definitely like to stay here again when I visit the Fukui area.

We hadn’t been able to go on our honeymoon, so we decided to take a trip somewhere in Japan and booked this hotel after seeing someone introduce it on social media. Since we wanted to relax and unwind, having hot springs was important—and above all, we were drawn to the breakfast and dinner buffets! From the check-in explanation, the staff were kind and thorough. And best of all: unlimited soft drinks and unlimited snacks—such a treat! Right after the explanation, my husband and I started enjoying them right away (lol). Dinner—the part I was most looking forward to—was truly impressive. From meat, crab, seafood, and sweets to all-you-can-drink alcohol… If only my stomach could eat more! When we were first shown to our seats, a female staff member recommended the shrimp mayo (“I recommend the shrimp mayo”), and freshly made shrimp mayo came out at just that moment—it was delicious. Everything was freshly prepared, the fish was very fresh, and every dish tasted better than typical buffet food—I felt like I could burst from how full I got! After that, there were several types of hot baths available. There were also plenty of skincare items as well as shampoo and conditioner treatments—such attentive service. One small thing that made me especially happy: instead of just one bath towel per person in the room, towels were also provided at each large public bath/hot spring area. With only one towel you tend not to try multiple baths, so that thoughtful touch was wonderful. At night there was also unlimited alcohol and ice cream—I stayed happy even after getting out of the bath… The breakfast buffet had handmade smoothies; you can make your own seafood bowl; plus both Japanese- and Western-style options—I ended up completely stuffed again in the morning (lol). After checkout it was pouring rain, but they even lent us umbrellas for walking to the parking lot. The service remained courteous until the very end—we were extremely satisfied! It’s a place I’d love to visit again!

The Room was spacious and comfortable, and having a large public bath—plus free parking—was fantastic! Since the price was low, I had no expectations at all, so it pleasantly exceeded them. I was surprised at how great this Hotel was! I’d definitely like to stay here again!

I stayed in a twin room in the Main Building the night before, but there was no availability for the second night, so I moved to a twin room in the East Building. The East Building is newer than the Main Building and has two elevators. Although I checked out once, there was a service where the staff moved my luggage to the new room. The room had a calm, modern atmosphere, and you can see the river from the window—I imagine it must be wonderful during cherry blossom season. The toilet and bath have no step at the entrance, making it easy to get in and out. There is also a handrail by the bathtub. This room also had their special ion water, which I enjoyed. A safe is provided as well, so valuables feel secure. An early-morning walking event was planned, and it seems the president personally guides guests along the riverside. I wanted to join, but unfortunately it rained. I was also looking forward to an excellent breakfast after the walk. Perhaps because it was a weekday, breakfast wasn’t very crowded—when I went at 6:30 a.m., there was no wait. There were plenty of restaurant staff; dishes were replenished constantly, and tables were cleared and reset quickly whenever they opened up—very pleasant service. There are several local specialties, introduced with informational panels. One minor inconvenience: if you stay in the East Building, you need to go down to the first floor before heading to the Main Building’s breakfast venue. Also, since both the coin laundry and hot spring are on an upper floor of the East Building, staying in the Main Building might feel less convenient for those facilities. I regret not using onsen this time. When traveling toward Fukui again, this is a hotel I would choose on purpose. A great choice—highly recommended.

I stayed here with my mother and my 7-month-old son. The property was very clean, and the staff member in charge of our room kindly assisted us from the initial guidance through to serving our meals. All of the staff greeted us pleasantly, and it was a warm, welcoming inn that made us want to come back. There was a massage chair in the room, which I really appreciated. I also thought it was great that there were so many facilities to enjoy, such as a kids’ space, a private family bath, a cypress footbath, and a hot stone sauna. The large public bath was uncrowded most of the time, so we were able to enjoy an early-morning bath without any crowds. The food was delicious—especially the udon at dinner. It was so good that we even looked for something similar at the souvenir shop before heading home. The tea sweets provided in the room were also excellent, and I bought some to take home. I would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

I stayed in a Twin Room. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. It was convenient to check the crowd status of the large public bath and breakfast venue on the room's TV. The breakfast buffet offered a variety of Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes, which were plentiful and satisfying. Since I expect to visit Fukui frequently for business trips in the future, I would like to stay here again.
