I love classic Hotels, and I first learned about this Hotel last year when I visited Yaotomi Shrine on Takeshima (as a day trip).
I’d been hoping to stay here someday, so I was able to make it happen this time by taking advantage of a special offer.
The guest room has been renovated with a modern design while preserving the charm of a classic Hotel, and I was captivated by the beautiful details. After walking all day in Nagoya, my tired body was completely refreshed. The bathroom was also very user-friendly—I ended up taking a bath twice, at night and again in the morning.
I also enjoyed an early-morning tea time on the lounge terrace overlooking Takeshima, followed by an authentic breakfast served on beautiful silverware—very satisfying. All of the staff were extremely courteous, and I have no complaints at all.
If I had to mention one thing… there is no Shuttle Service from Gamagori Station, so you’ll need to take a taxi or walk (just under 15 minutes). I understand it may be unavoidable, but I couldn’t help wishing there were some good alternative.
