Stayed here during a motorcycle trip to Wakayama. I usually stay at business hotels or rider houses, but this accommodation offered breakfast and dinner at a great price, so I decided to try a traditional inn for the first time in decades.
The accommodation and room are not modern, but they have a warm, nostalgic feel like visiting your grandmother's house.
The shared bath is not an onsen, but it’s spacious enough for one person to stretch out comfortably. Towels were also provided.
Dinner included fresh sashimi, fried dishes, and various small side dishes—more than enough! As expected from Owase, the sashimi was incredibly fresh and delicious!
Breakfast was the quintessential Japanese morning meal—absolutely satisfying.
The accommodation itself is perfect; however, if you rely on Google Maps for directions, it might lead you through unnecessary mountain paths and guide you to what looks like farmland in front of the inn. It’s better to call ahead and confirm the parking location beforehand. Especially if you're riding a large motorcycle like me—it can be extremely difficult to make a U-turn in such areas!
