The location is simply outstanding. From anywhere on the property, I could see Mt. Bandai beyond Yairoku Pond, and I was moved again and again. In addition, the service, dinner and breakfast, open-air bath, cleanliness, and the lounge’s ease of use were all excellent and comfortable. I’m glad I chose Urabandai Kogen Hotel for my commemorative trip. The nature that changes with each season must be wonderful as well, so next time I’d love to visit in a different season. We stayed with my parents and husband—four adults in total. There was a complimentary alcohol service available until 10:00 p.m. (there was even beer in the Room refrigerator!), and the all-inclusive drinks with meals included a great selection of alcohol. We could even enjoy sparkling wine at breakfast—perfect for my father and me, as we both love drinks. Every summer, we stay one night at an Accommodation in Fukushima to coincide with my mother’s visit home, and my father really loved this place, saying, “Let’s stay here again next time—let’s make it our regular.” From the bath to the lobby to the Room, everything about the interior design and use of space was wonderful no matter where you looked. The staff were also warm and welcoming while still polished and professional. It was our first trip gifting my parents a stay, so it became a truly memorable experience for us. Thank you very much.

I was truly impressed by the warm hospitality and smiles of all the staff, as well as their clear and courteous explanations. The meals were absolutely delicious, and we were very satisfied. The riverside open-air bath was wonderfully soothing, and we were able to spend meaningful time with our family. Thank you very much. We would love to stay with you again someday.

As usual, I stayed here with my mother. It was very helpful that we didn’t have to walk much inside the Accommodation, and could use the elevator to get to the large public bath, dining room, and lounge. The interior has a calming feel, and the Room was comfortable to spend time in. The food was delicious; the buffet had a good selection without being overwhelming, and the freshly made tempura was excellent. It wasn’t too large, which made it easy for my mother as well. Since we had a long stay until 1:00 PM, we were truly able to relax. I’d love to visit again.

The Room also has a private Onsen bath, and there are four private baths as well—an impressive level of facilities for a pension. The meals offered many dishes, were beautifully colorful, and were very satisfying. We felt thoughtful attention to detail throughout. This is an Accommodation we’d like to return to. We requested an after-bath beer at check-in; we probably should have put it in the refrigerator. It would have been nice to have local craft beer, and we only realized later that we could exchange the in-house wear size, so we rated it 4—but overall it’s basically all 5s. We could also see Lake Inawashiro from the Room.

I have been staying here about twice a year for the past few years, and every time it has been completely satisfying. Dinner is French cuisine, and everything—from the meat and fish to the dessert—was delicious. The freshly baked bread was truly excellent, and I had seconds. There is also reasonably priced wine, so I had a very pleasant stay. Breakfast was delicious as well. The Room was luxurious and lovely; however, it was a bit disappointing that the refrigerator did not cool very well. The Onsen was wonderful too, with both an open-air bath and an indoor bath at just the right temperature for me, plus a sauna and a cold plunge—an excellent experience overall. I’m looking forward to my next visit.

We enjoyed delicious cuisine and the Onsen, making for a fun and wonderful summer vacation. The 30-tatami Room we used for the first time was also impressive. We also enjoyed Aizu’s local specialties, including Kozuyu and dried cod (bo-dara).

The dishes made with local Aizu ingredients were truly delicious. Both the large public bath overlooking the river and the in-Room bath were very relaxing.

The open-air bath at 6:00 a.m. was amazing. The clear weather was wonderful too. Being wrapped in morning mist—like bathing in the clouds—was also incredible. We’ll definitely be back.

It was busy because it was during the summer vacation season, but the bath was spacious, so it didn’t feel too crowded. The food was delicious, but I felt our table was a little far away. Overall, it was good!

I always search on IKYU.com with a focus on “accommodations with great food,” so this time as well I came looking forward to the cuisine. But after actually staying here, what stayed with me most was the hot spring water. The website said the Onsen was wonderful, but once I soaked in it, its appeal far exceeded my expectations. The large public bath had a calm atmosphere wrapped in the warmth of wood, and soaking while listening to the murmuring stream was truly luxurious. The private ceramic-style bath also had a wonderful sense of charm and was excellent. Above all, the quality of the spring water is outstanding. It feels light yet leaves your skin smooth and silky, and that pleasant feeling after bathing lingered for a long time. The next day we stayed at another hot spring accommodation, and comparing them during the same trip made me realize again how unforgettable that indescribable comfort felt after leaving Manyotei’s baths. This is exactly what makes a secluded hot spring so special. The meals were just as I had hoped—each dish made delicious use of local ingredients. In particular, the fresh soba served at the end was thin yet pleasantly firm; as a soba lover, it was exactly to my taste. Breakfast also showed care and creativity in every item. This trip was also with my elderly parents. My father’s legs have grown weaker and he hasn’t been going to large public baths lately, but this time he unusually said he wanted to go. I accompanied him to the Onsen while feeling a bit worried; I couldn’t relax while waiting. But he seemed to really like this water, and both of my parents were able to fully enjoy the hot springs. When traveling with elderly parents, each visit feels like a once-in-a-lifetime encounter—thinking it may be our last. That is why I am truly grateful that we could soak in such wonderful waters, enjoy delicious food, and spend such peaceful time—it remains deeply in my heart. I’m sure it added years to my parents’ lives. Thank you for an exceptional Onsen experience, wonderful meals, and such soothing time. When we visit Fukushima’s nature again, I would love to come back specifically for these waters.

My daughter, who lives far away, was able to come home during the holiday, so we stayed on 9/20 during Silver Week. At first, we had made a Reservation at another Hotel because we planned to go grape picking in Fukushima and then travel to Morioka. However, with the typhoon making the weather uncertain, we kept considering a closer plan until the last minute. When an opening came up for a Room with an open-air bath, we quickly made a Reservation here. Since our family travels entirely by car, changing our schedule gave us extra time. We arrived early and planned to take a walk nearby, and the parking staff kindly recommended some spots for us. The footbath was very relaxing. The open-air bath in the Room does not have a washing area, but it wasn’t an issue—washing first at the large public bath or using the indoor bath in the Room was enough. Dinner and breakfast are buffet-style. When traveling as a family of four, we usually choose Accommodations with buffets, so we truly appreciate Itoen Hotel for its reasonable pricing. Some people have various opinions about the food, but if you search under the same conditions (a Room with an open-air bath), most places cost about twice as much or more than Itoen Hotel. If you’re dissatisfied, it simply means you should increase your budget. The Tsukimi Fair set dishes and—during Silver Week—the bluefin tuna and roast beef sushi were especially popular. The ramen was also delicious; since this is Fukushima, perhaps it had a Kitakata-style soup? Our family was very satisfied. Because of the typhoon’s impact, we decided to relax at the Hotel. We enjoyed soaking in the Onsen many times, eating until we were full, winning prizes in the game corner arcade area, and having fun playing table tennis—it was a wonderful stay. Since I made this Reservation in such haste, I caused trouble due to my own mistake. Also after checking out and leaving, my daughter realized something important to her was missing. When we turned back and returned to the Hotel staff immediately told us it had been found at the shop counter—this truly helped us so much. Thank you very much for your kind assistance. Lastly I would like to express my sincere thanks to everyone—the person who handled my call regarding my mistake during Reservation booking as well as all staff at reception front desk parking restaurant shop housekeeping and throughout this Hotel. My first time in Aizu-Wakamatsu! This Accommodation was high quality for the price. Unfortunately, it poured with heavy rain, so the stargazing open-air bath was a downpour. I must have made my Reservation too late, and could only book the earliest morning slot. This time we chose a package that included this bath, but the private-use fee of 4,400 yen felt a bit expensive. The meals were delicious, mainly featuring local Aizu cuisine. One small disappointment was that the rice I had been looking forward to was mushy and not very tasty. The staff’s hospitality was excellent. Overall, it was a good Accommodation.

I didn’t see everything, but the building was clean, and it was great that they offered a welcome drink (including alcohol) as well as evening drinks (I fell asleep and couldn’t use it). The lobby also has an Akabeko, which really gives you a sense of Fukushima. There is both an

The Onsen was incredibly relaxing, and I was able to unwind and enjoy a peaceful stay. I also appreciated that it is free-flowing from the source and available 24 hours a day. The water temperature was just right, and it left my skin feeling silky smooth. We had dinner on a riverside dining platform, and it was wonderful to enjoy the scenery and the sound of the flowing river while eating. The meal was delicious and had a great seasonal feel. The staff were courteous, which made the stay very comfortable. I would love to return if I have the chance.

I stayed with the No Meals Included plan. As it was the off-season, I was able to stay at a very reasonable price. The building is old, but it has been nicely renovated. Since it was a discounted Room, I could hear some plumbing noise, but if you just want to enjoy the Onsen and sleep, this Accommodation is more than satisfactory.

I stayed here last year as well and am a returning guest. The baths are great, the meals are excellent, and while the Facility isn’t new, it feels well maintained and cared for. The staff were pleasant and attentive, and I was very satisfied. I was able to relax, but the enjoyable time flew by. I’d like to come again in a different season.

As a travel-loving couple, we’ve recently been taking trips where we stay at a Hotel and eat at local restaurants, so this was our first Ryokan stay in a while. We were completely satisfied with everything—the Room, the bath, and the food—and were able to relax and take our time. The Room was honestly too spacious for just two of us, but every space—the Japanese-style room, Western-style room, and bedroom—had its own charm and was wonderful. The bed was also extremely comfortable, and we slept soundly. We also enjoyed the Bluetooth speaker in the Western-style room; it had great sound quality and created an atmosphere that felt like being in a bar. The open-air bath in the Room had continuously flowing natural hot spring water, so we could soak right away after arriving and truly unwind. Dinner featured locally produced Aizu cuisine, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The recommended sake was delicious as well, and it was nice to be able to ask casually for suggestions while choosing. The pricing also felt very reasonable overall. If I had to mention one thing, breakfast was slightly disappointing: refills of rice or tea had to be requested via the in-room phone, and they took quite a while to arrive—so it would have been better if tea had been left in a pot. We were happy with the service too, and would love to visit again if we have the chance.

This was our first time staying here. They offered a welcome drink, and we chose the BBQ—everything was made with excellent ingredients! At night, the starry sky was beautiful, and it became a wonderful memory for our whole family. We’d love to come again.

I stayed here for the Onsen, but the food was delicious, and the staff were very kind. The building and the room were old, but I liked the nostalgic atmosphere. When leaving, the grandmother of the Ryokan waved until my car was out of sight, which touched my heart. I had a wonderful time.
