This is a perfect Accommodation no matter when you visit. It was Kyoto in extreme heat, but thanks to your thoughtful care in many ways, we had a wonderful time. The pike conger is a must in this season; it is an additional-order dish, but highly recommended. We are planning to visit again in autumn.

Its kaleidoscopic beauty resonates deeply in the heart. Exquisitely prepared with sincere care, the cuisine is truly delicious. A beautiful garden that reflects the seasons—so captivating you could gaze at it forever. Elegant summer décor that lets you fully experience Kyoto’s traditional culture. Hanging scrolls, ikebana, and a beautifully arranged Room down to every detail. The head chef, attendants, the young proprietress, and the proprietress herself offer warm, attentive hospitality with genuine grace. Thinking that all of this beauty is an expression of love for each guest fills me with freshness and gratitude. At Kikkawa, you can feel the refined spirit of Kyoto—an appreciation for making everyday life beautiful and joyful. It began as an Accommodation I hoped to stay at at least once in my life; before I knew it, this was my 11th visit. A superb culinary Ryokan I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone who truly loves Kyoto.

Thanks to the Diamond member benefit, we received a Room upgrade. The moment we stepped inside, the space was so generous that I couldn’t help but say, “Wow.” The interior was consistently styled with a Kyoto-inspired Japanese aesthetic, creating a wonderfully calm atmosphere. The indirect lighting was thoughtfully designed, and the Room felt especially lovely at night. The tableware included beautiful, like-new pieces from Noritake and HARIO. My personal favorite was the bath salts—soaking in the tub while surrounded by natural aromas was truly relaxing. Breakfast was delicious, and having it delivered to our Room made everything feel effortless. Rather than a Hotel stay, it felt like relaxing in a private residence. This time we stayed for one night, but it’s an Accommodation where I’d love to enjoy a Multiple Night Stay at a slower pace. All staff were polite and kind, which made us feel at ease. I often stay here when visiting Kyoto for personal trips. I like the quiet setting away from the downtown area. Shin-Sawaragi Street runs north–south toward the Imperial Palace. Some old wooden houses still remain, and over the past few years I’ve been coming here, more small places such as stand bars have opened along the street and side lanes. With an 11:00 check-out, and since it was a hot season, I was able to relax in my Room. I think I’ll stay here again next time.

The room was spotless and well prepared, and the staff’s greetings when welcoming us and seeing us off left a great impression. I was surprised by the level of service provided at this price. It’s conveniently located within walking distance of downtown areas such as Kawaramachi, with easy access to Kyoto Station. We visited by car this time, and there are many parking lots nearby, making it convenient for drivers as well. I think this Accommodation offers excellent value in terms of price, service, and location. I would like to stay again.

It is in a very convenient location for visiting the excellent Japanese restaurants and kappo dining in Gosho-minami, so I stay here often. The Room is kept clean and well prepared, the amenities are well stocked, and it also comes with Maeda Coffee, Marukyu Koyamaen Japanese tea bags, and sweets—perfect for a relaxing break. This is my favorite Hotel in Kyoto. On my last visit, even though it was not yet check-in time, they kindly let me check in early because my Room was ready, which I truly appreciated.

It was a wonderful Hotel. The staff’s hospitality was outstanding, and the location was very convenient. Afternoon tea and the evening cocktail hour were excellent, including light snacks. The large public bath was also great. When I come to Kyoto again, I would love to stay here again. Thank you very much for your kind hospitality.

In addition to 24-hour lobby service with coffee and cold tea, we also enjoyed wine from 15:00 to 20:00 and shaved ice, which was a very thoughtful touch. The location was extremely convenient for getting anywhere, and since it’s right by Exit 1, we really appreciated not having to walk far to the station in the summer heat. We would definitely love to stay again.

This was the best value for money among all the hotels I’ve booked through Ikkyu. It may have been because it was late August, but I was very happy to stay in a large twin room at a four-star level for this price. The front desk staff were also excellent. I would appreciate a bit more variety at the breakfast buffet. I was impressed by how new, clean, and spacious the in-room bathroom was. I’d definitely like to stay again when rates are reasonable. The facilities are new, modern, and stylish, which made me feel great and excited throughout my stay. It was disappointing that the lobby air conditioning was so cold that I couldn’t relax there.

This was my second stay. It was a Multiple Night Stay, and I really appreciated that complimentary water was included along with the replacement towels. Many places don’t offer that these days. The building was clean and comfortable to stay in. However, the hallway felt a bit too dark.

I always stay here when visiting Kyoto. The staff are always quick and smooth in their service. This time, they gave me a Room with a view from the window, which made it bright and I was very happy!

The station and a convenience store were both very close by, which was really helpful. The room felt more spacious than expected, with calming modern colors, and everything was very clean, making for a comfortable stay. I also appreciated the wide selection of amenities available at the front desk. It’s rare to see corn soup among the drink options, and it was nice to have something slightly salty to choose from. Overall, I felt it offered excellent value for money. I had booked a Plan without breakfast, but when I returned to the Hotel around lunchtime to pick up my luggage, I noticed they offered lunch. It came with salad, dessert, and coffee at a reasonable price, and I could enjoy my meal at a relaxed pace—it felt like a great deal. I’d definitely like to stay again if I have the chance.

I’ve tried several nearby Business Hotels, but this Hotel offers the best value for the price, and it has recently become my regular choice. As others have mentioned, all the staff are pleasant and welcoming. Soundproofing is also decent. Personally, I like that there is a water dispenser on each floor (instead of complimentary bottled water), disposable slippers are provided, the shower water pressure is strong, and the roller shade plus curtains can completely block outside light (since I tend to wake up late). Also, while many Business Hotels have a 10:00 check-out time, this one is 11:00. I’d like to thank the staff for supporting such a comfortable stay.

The front desk staff were very courteous, so I had a very pleasant stay. When I arrived, I was irritated by the heat, and I feel sorry for having acted that way. The Room and other areas were well cleaned, which made everything feel fresh and comfortable.

I was able to have a wonderful time again. Thank you very much. I stayed at AO in my favorite hotel this time. I thought blue might feel cold, but perhaps due to the color scheme and texture (such as underfoot), it was a stay that even changed the impression of blue while being calm. It's a space that somehow makes you feel like you've "come home." The bath is deep, allowing you to warm up thoroughly and relax in a wonderful space. The amenities are pleasant, and I really like the scent of the bath herbs and soap. If I may be greedy, I would be happy if I could have herbal tea in the room. However, there is a pot, and you can enjoy three-year bancha and coffee. It is mentioned from the beginning that there is no toothbrush, but I thought it would be nice to have body lotion. I generally like Babaghuri's amenities, but the shampoo & rinse just don't suit my hair (I end up using it because it smells good), and that's the only disappointment. Breakfast is one of the pleasures of this property that cannot be missed. It's full of vegetables, looks beautiful, and energizes you from the morning. The soup changes with the season, and it's really gentle and delicious. Having delicious soup in the morning feels luxurious, and I always think so when I come here. It comes in a stove pot, so you can reheat it in the room. The variety of vegetables makes for a really enjoyable meal from the morning. I chose bread, and there were three types, each delicious, and although it seemed like a lot, I wanted to have seconds. I am thinking of staying again next time. I was also very pleased with the various thoughtful gestures this time. Thank you very much!!

We used this Accommodation with relatives as we were traveling from far away to attend our daughter’s wedding. There were seven of us—six adults including seniors, plus an 18-month-old child—and we were able to spend our time very comfortably. Each area was generously spacious, and the bathroom had two showers and a very large tub. With the great view as well, we enjoyed it together with our grandchild and daughter—it really felt like an Onsen experience, and we had a lot of fun. The flooring was also non-slip, which made it safe for my elderly father and our toddler who is still unsteady on their feet. It was also pleasant that the water areas were kept so clean. The kitchen appliances and utensils were well stocked. We could buy ingredients at nearby shops, cook a few dishes, and even cook rice. No complaints at all about the bed linens or amenities. If I had to mention something slightly disappointing, it would be that it’s far from the Hotel where you check in—you’ll likely need to take a taxi due to the distance. Also, there are many things you only learn after arriving and reading the instructions. The entrance alarm rang loudly at first, which caused a bit of panic for both the child and the seniors. I wish this had been explained at check-in. Since these issues relate to the front desk/check-in process, our satisfaction with the Accommodation itself was very high. It’s highly recommended for families or groups!

I was looking for a Hotel not too far from Kyoto Station, with easy access to the places I wanted to visit and close to the station. There was also a Co-op next door, and it was near the station. The Room was clean. I did notice a lot of dust on the TV remote, and if I mention every small detail it would never end, but for this price and location, it was more than enough if you just need a place to sleep.

The Room was clean and comfortable. Above all, the meals were delicious. We could really feel the staff’s thoughtfulness, and we’d like to stay again. The price was so low that we were almost worried it might be too good to be true. Five stars.

The footsteps and other noises from the room above or next door were quite loud. Other than that, the stay was very comfortable. In particular, the front desk staff—young international team members—were very polite and worked very hard.

Spacious room, thorough cleaning, delicious meals, and the staff maintained a good sense of distance, which I appreciated. I thought it would be nice if the room had a brighter (even with bright lighting) area. However, it was very difficult to get into the bathtub. I am 160 cm tall, which I think is average, but even so, I was afraid my feet might get caught. I only got used to it during my Multiple Night Stay. It might be impossible, but could you somehow make it easier to get in? That was the only disappointment.
