To wrap up our 4-night, 5-day trip to Toyama, we stayed at Nono, conveniently located near the station. This was our second stay, and with its great location, clean tatami-style rooms, delicious breakfast, relaxing baths, and spacious rooms, it offers excellent value for money. We would love to stay here again.

This was my first time in Toyama, and I stayed at Daiwa Roynet Hotel Toyama Ekimae. It was conveniently located close to the station, and the room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was a Japanese-style buffet with a wide variety of dishes, and I was very satisfied. I would like to stay here again the next time I visit Toyama.

It’s not directly in front of the station, but it’s less than a 5-minute walk, and choosing this Hotel turned out to be absolutely the right decision. The Room is compact, but new and very clean. The stylish interior details and design, the separate bath and toilet, an unpacking rack, and a small sofa made it highly functional and very comfortable to stay in. I also appreciated being able to log into my own account on the TV to watch subscription streaming services. The view from the window was of a parking lot, but personally it didn’t bother me. The in-house Facilities are excellent as well—having “Kurobe no Megumi” water dispensers on every floor was especially convenient. You can fill the provided decanter and enjoy coffee with the Nespresso machine, or chill the water as-is for a refreshing drink when you wake up. There’s a smart shop in the lobby, and it was nice (and very fitting for a JAL-affiliated property) that they sold “Udon desu kai.” At night, the restaurant on the first floor can be used as a bar, and the staff were very friendly. Even staying solo, I felt completely at ease and enjoyed a relaxing time. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with everything. I’d definitely like to stay here again when visiting Toyama!

Depending on the time of day, there were many people and the washing area was full. Also, the bath water was a bit hot. We only had breakfast, but it was delicious and offered a wide variety, which was great. The futon was comfortable to sleep on, but it would have been even better if there were more pillow options.

This time I booked a No Meals Included plan, so I can’t comment on the food, but the service (front desk and parking staff) was excellent and made my stay very pleasant. The Facility was also very well maintained for the price, and I was satisfied. There is a large public bath as well, which was perfect for me since I’m not a fan of unit baths. The location and adjacent parking were convenient too, and when I visit Toyama again, this Hotel will be the first one I look up.

After checking out, I took the Shinkansen departing Toyama Station at 7:43. Since the breakfast buffet starts at 6:30, I thought I would only have about an hour to eat, but it was fine. The salmon ochazuke was delicious. When I asked to store my luggage before check-in, I was able to use a locker near the entrance—free of charge and with a PIN code that you set yourself. There is a laundry line above the bathtub, which was convenient. Note that the air conditioning is centrally controlled throughout the Hotel. They also have a library selection of books, but since I received a morning newspaper, I ended up focusing on that instead.

Overall, everything was great—the location, the Room amenities, the public bath, and the staff service. We also enjoyed Toyama’s delicious water from the water dispensers on each floor. If I had to mention one thing, around 08:00 the breakfast dining area was very crowded, and since our table was near the entrance, there was a lot of foot traffic and it was hard to eat at a relaxed pace. I expect this could be avoided by going earlier.

Thank you very much for taking care of me during my stay. This was a solo trip to an Accommodation I had wanted to stay at for the past 15 years, and my wish finally came true. It’s been difficult to coordinate schedules with family and friends, so I was grateful that solo stays were possible. The beautiful Tateyama Mountain Range and fresh greenery were stunning. The sea is also appealing, but this time my main goal was to relax quietly and enjoy the Onsen. I chose this Accommodation expecting great cuisine and an Onsen experience—and it was absolutely the right choice! Delicious Toyama specialties that more than met my expectations, and I could truly feel the chef’s careful attention to detail. The view of the Tateyama Mountain Range from the in-room open-air bath, along with birdsong, was unforgettable. I was also deeply moved by the warm hospitality of the female staff in the restaurant. The entire property was clean and comfortable, and I slept soundly for the first time in a while. Next time, I would love to visit again with friends or family. Thank you very much.

This was my first time staying in Toyama. I stayed for two nights. The great appeal is the very affordable price. It’s about a 5-minute walk from the city tram stop, which didn’t feel far at all. There is a large public bath that can accommodate several people, and it was nice to relax in the spacious tub. Breakfast offered a good variety, and I enjoyed plenty of it.

We chose a Room with a private Onsen and stayed there. It was our first time, and the futons were already laid out in the Room, with consideration given to minimizing unnecessary staff entry. As it is mineral spring water, it is heated, but the clear, colorless water was easy to soak in and warmed us up nicely even at a lukewarm temperature. The meals were excellent—sashimi and grilled fish that you wouldn’t expect for a place near the mountains. Insects may occasionally wander into the open-air bath in the Room, which some guests might find bothersome, but we were fine with it. If it were closer, we would love to visit this Accommodation again.

I stayed here after being captivated by the night-view photos of the Onsen. Since this was a family trip with small children, I wasn’t expecting a luxury Ryokan, but because it’s located where you can take in a sweeping view of Toyama City (and even across to Imizu City), I never got tired of the scenery—sunrise, sunset, and night. Honestly, this location is truly one of a kind and priceless; it was far better than staying at some mediocre high-end Ryokan. I’ll upload my clumsy photos, but in person it’s 10 or 20 times more impressive. On the way to the Onsen there is a corridor explaining the history of the Kureha Hills, and I could really feel how much care and affection the staff have for this place and for this Hotel. The Facility is certainly Showa-era in style, but that actually made me feel even more attached to it. I felt genuinely happy to have discovered—and stayed at—this kind of Hotel. I also want to mention the breakfast buffet. Above all, I was amazed at how delicious the rice was. That wonderful white rice with miso soup and grilled fish in the morning—along with sides like okra and vinegared dishes—was something I truly enjoyed. Depending on where you’re going, if you plan to visit Toyama City or nearby Imizu City or Takaoka City, this is definitely a great choice. My kids absolutely loved Kodomo Mirai-kan at Taikoyama Land, so we’ll probably go back to Toyama next year—and when we do, I definitely want to stay at this Hotel again. The Onsen was so relaxing! The Tateyama view in the morning was beautiful. Breakfast—the curry, yogurt, and croissants—was delicious.
