We had a truly wonderful stay. We stayed for two nights with our 1-year-old daughter. Dinner and breakfast were included, and the food was outstanding. They thoughtfully accommodated our child’s meals, taking her egg allergy and the size of the ingredients into consideration, and she was very happy. The staff also looked after her throughout, so we could enjoy our meal with peace of mind. The Room has special touches that help you forget the busyness of everyday life. Thanks to that, we were able to enjoy an extraordinary experience we don’t usually get to have. We would love to return again next time.

We stayed here for our 30th wedding anniversary. Surrounded by the forests of Miyota, the quiet Room was very comfortable even with the windows open. The bath, the meals—everything was wonderful, and what made it all possible was the pleasant hospitality of the staff. Next time, we would like to visit during the season of fresh greenery and try the Italian cuisine. It became a truly memorable anniversary.

Until now I had always chosen Old Karuizawa, but this was my first stay at Mikage Yosui. 1. Service: As always, very dog-friendly. Not only are the staff wonderful, but communication among guests also feels natural and pleasant. 2. Dining: The French dinner is thoughtfully composed—for example, the appetizer salad combines fresh vegetables with dried fruit for a great change in texture. The French toast available to order separately at breakfast is outstanding. The yogurt is so delicious you’ll want to order it again for home delivery. The freshly baked bread is also excellent. 3. Facilities: Aside from the private garden, the rooms feel simple, with a similar layout and orientation. Because everything is tiled, even if a previous guest’s dog had an accident, odors don’t linger and it doesn’t bother you. As other reviews mention, access to the waterway and the parking area is convenient as well. At the Old Karuizawa property there is heavy traffic on the road in front, so you need to be careful when walking your dog; here you can stroll along the waterway instead. Unfortunately it rained that day, but with light rain there’s an advantage—the trees help keep you from getting wet. Overall, this is a well-balanced property that I highly recommend.

Although it rained, we still had a truly wonderful time as a family—it didn’t bother us at all. The Facility was very quiet and relaxing, a special place where you can forget everyday life and unwind. Everything we needed was well provided, and our stay was very comfortable. The staff were also genuinely pleasant, and we really appreciated their thoughtful, unobtrusive care. The restaurant we used during our stay was excellent as well! The food was truly delicious and became one of the highlights of our trip. As parents, we were so happy to see our children enjoying every bite. There is also a convenience store nearby, which is handy for quick shopping. Since it rained this time, we’d love to visit again in a season with nicer weather. On the way home, our whole family kept saying, “Let’s come back.” Highly recommended for anyone looking to relax in Karuizawa!

We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days with 7 adults and one small dog. With toilets on both the first and second floors, even our elderly family members were able to stay comfortably. The property was well maintained overall and very clean, and the kitchen—especially the sink area—was particularly convenient to use. Tsuruya Miyota Store is a 4-minute drive away; by avoiding the peak crowds during a three-day weekend, we went grocery shopping easily and cooked dinner ourselves on both nights. While it’s a bit away from central Karuizawa, more new and lovely shops have been opening nearby, so we think it’s a great area to relax at a slower pace while avoiding traffic. Cooking is done on an electric IH cooktop, but as it gets colder in the coming season, it would be nice to have a tabletop cassette stove and hot pot set available. It was a wonderful dog-friendly place that we’d love to visit again!

We stayed for one night and two days on the senior Plan with two meals included. We received a call in advance to confirm a few details, and the staff member was extremely courteous, which raised our expectations and made us look forward to our stay. Those expectations were fully met: throughout our visit, the service from all staff—at the front desk, restaurant, and elsewhere—was wonderful, natural, and never overbearing. Thanks to you, my spouse and I enjoyed a truly comfortable stay together for the first time in a while. The Facility was clean, the meals were very satisfying, and we felt it was excellent value. The atmosphere was homey and very clean, and all the staff were extremely kind. It was late July, but the temperature wasn’t too high and the humidity was low, so it was very comfortable—Karuizawa really is wonderful. We stayed for two nights, but on the second night my son became unwell, and I’m very sorry for the trouble we caused. Even though it was sudden, a staff member said, “Please let us know if there’s anything we can do,” and they also helped us check out quickly that same day—thank you so much. By the next day my son was feeling better and said, “Karuizawa was fun—I want to stay at that Hotel again.” I’m also sorry this Review is so late. I will contact you again separately. There was an unexpected issue and I panicked a bit, but I made another special memory in Karuizawa after a long time. Thank you very much.

We came back for another stay. Above all, the home-cooked meals prepared by the hostess are truly delicious! The vegetables from their home garden, the rice, and each ingredient has its own story—you can really feel the care and attention to detail. Both the hosts and their welcoming dogs made us feel right at home. We’ll definitely be back!

We stayed here for my partner’s birthday trip. Surrounded by nature in a quiet setting, we were able to step away from everyday life and spend a truly wonderful time. The room was very clean, and the Facility and amenities were well equipped, so we stayed comfortably without any inconvenience throughout our stay. The size was just right, and it felt like a very cozy space for two adults. The sauna is electric, so even someone like me who isn’t used to wood-fired saunas could enjoy it easily—and it still felt authentic, which was more than satisfying. Before our stay, they also shared helpful information such as the destination (Google Maps), what to bring, and recommended nearby places, which we really appreciated. Next time, we’d love to stay for multiple nights!

I had a very comfortable stay! There were a few minor housekeeping issues, but the Room and the Hotel overall were clean. I was very satisfied with the meals as well! I thought it might be nice to use even more of my favorite Nagano ingredients. I’d love to stay again. Thank you very much.

This was my first stay, and it was a comfortable hotel with a spacious garden that also serves as a dog run. They offer rental sheets (200 yen) for dogs that may jump onto the bed, which I thought was a great idea because it eliminates the stress of worrying about the bedding. There were also dog amenities, and overall I felt it offered excellent value for the price. I would like to stay again if I have the opportunity.

The sashimi set dinner featured local vegetables, and the sashimi was very fresh and delicious. The other dishes were also excellent, and we were very satisfied. The staff were kind, courteous, and attentive, making this a wonderful Accommodation. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

I recently stayed here with a friend, and we had a wonderful time. There are no facilities such as vending machines inside the property, but alcohol and snacks are available for purchase, and non-alcoholic drinks are offered as complimentary free drinks. During my stay, there were no noisy guests, so I was able to relax in peace. You need to go up stairs to enter the room, but there is no handrail, so anyone who feels unsteady on their feet should take care. The meals were delicious and very satisfying! Breakfast included a vegetable buffet (with sausages and yogurt as well), pumpkin potage soup, a choice of one main dish from three options (during my stay: salmon and vegetable quiche, vegan tantan noodles, or an acai bowl), croissants, and smoothies—be careful not to take too much from the vegetable buffet or you may feel overly full. There were two staff members on duty that day; although it was a small team, they were very kind and attentive. It was an amazing stay and I had a fantastic time. Next time I’d like to come alone and unwind until the shuttle departure time (1:00 PM)!

The Onsen in our Room was spacious, and it was relaxing to see greenery through the window. I also used the large public bath once; it had an open-air bath, ReFa hair dryers, and a drink bar in the changing area, which was a nice touch. We stayed in a dog-friendly Room, and it was very clean with no odor at all, so we were very comfortable. Since we had a Multiple Night Stay, I would have been happy to receive dog treats and water on the second day as well. I also couldn’t find any pet toilet sheets. The Nespresso and Mikado Coffee provided in the Room were much appreciated. Breakfast offered a great variety, and the dishes, juices, and fruit were all delicious. Next time, I’d like to visit when the weather is nice.

We traveled with my spouse, our daughter, and my grandparents. It was a hotel where the whole family could have fun and relax. The pool was larger than we expected, and even when it was crowded, we could still enjoy it without worrying too much! There are also places to sit by the pool, so you can relax and watch as well.

My spouse and I stayed with our two dogs. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. The dog meals also seemed tasty—our dogs finished them in no time. We were happy that the staff treated our very energetic dogs kindly. Everyone we interacted with—the front desk, the restaurant staff, and the Room service staff—was pleasant and welcoming. We stayed in a Room with a private garden, but unfortunately it rained, so we’d like to come again on a sunny day. Thank you very much.

This was our second stay, the first in two years. Just like last time, the place was thoroughly cleaned and we had a very comfortable stay. We also enjoyed the Tsuruya apple juice (I believe it was a repeat-guest perk). What we love most about this Accommodation is the great location and how comfortable it is not only for people but also for dogs. The fenced yard covered with wood chips can be used as a private dog run, so we could skip walks when needed—easy for us, and our dog looked like they were having a great time too. The only inconvenience is that there are no amenities such as a skincare/lotion set, but we knew this in advance from the Accommodation information and brought our own, so it wasn’t an issue at all. Please keep this in mind if you plan to stay here. There were two hair dryers provided, which was great since our two teenage children could use them at the same time. The foot bath was also wonderful. Soaking our feet after waking up while drinking the provided drip coffee felt like forest bathing and was truly relaxing. Contactless check-in and check-out were easy and very convenient. Because everything is contactless, we didn’t meet any staff in person, but everything was well prepared for a comfortable stay—thank you very much.

Because we had such a wonderful stay last year with my preschool-aged child, this year the three of us—including my husband—stayed again. On the first day, we played at Toy Kingdom nearby. We entered at 1:00 PM, and the park closed at 5:00 PM that day, so it felt like there wasn’t enough time to do everything. There were athletic activities, rides, and events as well, and we had a very fulfilling time. As for the dinner buffet, there were plenty of kid-friendly options again, so we were very satisfied! The roast beef, seasonal pasta (soy milk lemon), and Basque cheesecake were especially delicious. My child was thrilled to find sushi, hamburg steak, and straight-cut fries and ate until completely full. We were also surprised to see watermelon even though it was October—my child went back for seconds. The milk was tasty too; they drank a lot of it. During other times, we enjoyed the mystery-solving activity included in our plan as well as fireworks. Even inside the hotel we didn’t have enough time—we kept having strategy meetings like “What should we do next?” With one night including two meals for three people plus fireworks and Toy Kingdom tickets included in the plan, JPY 37,000 is an incredible value. At other hotels we often end up with nothing to do after check-in and spend time feeling bored, but here you can truly have a packed and enjoyable stay. Also, in August I booked through another site but had to cancel on the day due to my child not feeling well. When I called the hotel that morning, the front desk staff handled it very kindly. Thank you again for your help then. We will definitely stay again next year!

I was a bit worried after reading the Reviews, but it turned out to be a great value Hotel. The building is old, but it was well cleaned, and the view from the window was nice. In the lounge, you can enjoy coffee and house wine, and dinner was a set course meal. It’s simple French cuisine, but I felt it was very reasonably priced to have meals included at this rate (it may have been an especially good Plan by chance). Since I stayed for work, this Hotel offered excellent satisfaction for the price. Of course, I wouldn’t really recommend it to those looking for a luxury Hotel, but I highly recommend it for groups of friends or families who want a good-value stay. I’d love to stay again.

I stayed with my senior dog who requires nursing care. Everyone was very kind, and I think they arranged a Room for us in the most convenient location with easy access. The place was clean, and the surrounding environment was great. I’d love to come again. Thank you very much. We were able to fully enjoy Karuizawa. The Room lighting might be a little dim. Also, it was convenient that we could do laundry and use the dryer.
