I stayed here on a solo trip. It is a small Accommodation, but every detail is thoughtfully cared for, and I had a very comfortable stay. Ikebana arrangements were displayed throughout wherever my eyes fell, and I could really feel the Accommodation’s hospitality. The meals—especially the vegetables—were delicious, and since they were served in my Room, I was able to enjoy them at a relaxed pace. I left the Accommodation sincerely thinking, “I want to stay here again!” Thank you very much.

I stayed solo and booked the “Tochigi Beef Sirloin Steak Course.” [Entrance & Lobby] It seems to have been renovated, with a bright and stylish atmosphere. [Front Desk] The staff provided clear, courteous explanations, and check-in was smooth. [Room] Spacious and comfortable. The futon was already laid out, which was great because I could lie down right after arriving. Since my Room was on the 5th floor, the view from the window felt open and refreshing. However, there was no bath in the Room, so I couldn’t wash and hang my rainwear after hiking, which was a bit disappointing. [Baths] The service allowing 30 minutes free use of a private open-air bath was excellent. The large public bath feels a bit dated but has a pleasant atmosphere. Note that there is no outdoor bath. [Meals] Dinner service was timely, and the staff were attentive. The menu said “ochazuke or soba,” but plain rice was also available. The Tochigi beef sirloin was tender and very delicious. Salt, wasabi, ponzu sauce, and other condiments were provided so I could enjoy different flavors. I was also happy they had my favorite sake, “Houou Biden.” For breakfast, I appreciated that it wasn’t a typical buffet but served in a kaiseki style. After checkout I realized I had left a shirt in my Room; when I contacted them, they shipped it to me cash on delivery the next day. Their quick response really helped—thank you very much. Overall, this is a highly satisfying Hotel that I can confidently recommend.

This was my first stay. The atmosphere was warm and homey, and all the staff welcomed us with bright smiles. The Facility is a bit old, but it is well maintained and spotlessly clean. The meals featured locally sourced ingredients, were beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. The Onsen warmed me through to the core and left my skin glowing. I soaked in it many times. I felt refreshed for the first time in a while. I’m happy to have found an Accommodation I’d love to stay at again. Thank you very much.

The building isn’t very new. Some parts of the floor feel a bit soft, so please watch your step. I ended up checking in late, but when I called to let them know and shared my expected arrival time, they waited in front of the Ryokan to welcome me. The dining staff were also courteous, and the food was delicious. The Onsen uses a rotating schedule, but it’s available 24 hours a day, so you can enjoy it multiple times. The hallways are quite winding, so it’s easy to lose your sense of direction. The price is reasonable as well, so I’d like to stay again—next time without being late and with more time to relax.

We visited with great anticipation, having heard this Accommodation has a 150-year history. From the warm welcome at arrival, everyone greeted us with smiles, and our expectations immediately rose. We were escorted to our Room by a staff member, and the attentive service was remarkably detailed—something rare these days. The building has been beautifully renovated. Relaxing in the lounge surrounded by nature while looking out over the clear stream of the Hoki River was wonderful, and our conversations flowed easily. The facilities and our Room were spacious and spotless, and the gentle scent of incense was delightful. Every staff member we passed had a soothing smile. Dinner was carefully prepared, and the thoughtfully chosen tableware made it feel even more delicious. My mother and aunt—both very particular about food—praised it highly as well; we were truly impressed by the flavors of the ingredients themselves. The semi-open-air bath in our Room and the public baths felt silky soft on the skin, so we enjoyed them again and again. It seemed to promote perspiration; we warmed up from deep within, and all fatigue melted away. There were also table tennis, massages, and more available to enjoy—the service is thorough in every way. We also heard that for a Multiple Night Stay, different dishes are served each day. After dinner, we took a walk along the Hoki River and saw fireflies drifting through an enchanting scene—it felt magical. This became an unforgettable memory of this Accommodation. On the drive home we were already saying, “Let’s come back for a Multiple Night Stay in another season.” At a time when many places are simplifying their services, we are truly grateful to have found such a wonderful Accommodation with such attentive hospitality. We will recommend it to friends and acquaintances as well. Thank you very much.

Since we started traveling as a family, we often visit Kinugawa and Nasu, and we always stay at Hotel New Shiobara. This time was also Hotel New Shiobara. Since becoming premium, it has become even more comfortable. Above all, our children really love this hotel. The buffet meals, the baths, and the overall atmosphere inside the Hotel are all excellent. The newly opened lounge is also great. We plan to stay here again whenever we visit Nasu. Thank you as always.

We stayed on August 1–2, 2026! The Room (depending on the Plan, I assume) felt like it could have been a bit deeper and wider, but it matched the photos online. This was our first stay at Taoya as a family of four, including a second-year university student and a second-year high school student. We loved the all-inclusive free drinks (including alcohol) throughout our stay, plus the welcome dessert (the mini Mont Blanc was freshly piped on the spot). At dinner buffet, there were shake salads, freshly grilled and carved steak, and each table had a small burner for mini hot pots. There were also pasta and pizza, and even late-night snacks included in the Plan—everything was excellent in both taste and portion size. Breakfast was also buffet-style with build-your-own rice bowls, grilled fish using the tabletop burner, and freshly baked mini apple pies brought around to each table (they’re seriously piping hot, so be careful when eating). Our whole family was very satisfied. At dinner one night while we were taking a selfie with an outstretched arm, a staff member kindly offered to take our photo—an extra touch that made us even happier. The location was great too: easy access to Momiji-dani Suspension Bridge and the Nasu Highlands area, and Nikko is just over an hour away by expressway. Since it’s in the mountains we were worried about insects, but they didn’t bother us at all—we didn’t even encounter any during an evening walk (to the nearest suspension bridge), at the open-air bath on the 4th floor, or in our Room. The only insect we really noticed was dragonflies flying around the courtyard; little kids seemed to enjoy having them land on their fingers. Personally, I especially liked the courtyard bonfire! There were lots of adorable cats, and they played with us using toys! When we left the Room door slightly open, they came in, which was incredibly soothing. We also had a child with us, and they happily played with the toys, so we’re really glad we came. Even our daughter, who usually spends her time playing games, didn’t play even once—it turned into a fulfilling day and we were very satisfied! She said she wants to come again, so we’ll check our schedule and plan to visit again.

We visited as three generations. The Facility, baths, and meals were all very satisfying, and it became a wonderful memory. Thank you to the staff member who took a photo for us as we were leaving on a busy morning. We look forward to enjoying the many autumn maple leaves. We will visit again.

As a self-employed person, it’s hard for me to take time off, but I was finally able to bring my elderly mother—who had been saying for so long that she wanted to visit an Onsen—for a one-night stay. I chose this Accommodation after reading Reviews, hoping we could relax more than at a large Hotel. Since we stayed on a weekday at the end of summer, the rooms were only about half occupied, which was also nice. The staff were all smiling and pleasant. We checked in early and enjoyed the Onsen before dinner. Dinner was served in private dining rooms with table seating. There were many dishes, but each portion was small enough to enjoy comfortably; everything was served warm at just the right pace, and the flavors and seasoning were perfect—we were very satisfied. The timing worked out well for the Onsen too, so we hardly ran into other guests and could take our time in both the indoor bath and the open-air bath. Staying during the autumn foliage season may be difficult due to crowds, but my mother said she definitely wants me to bring her again.

You can reach Nasu leisure spots such as Kinomata Gorge and Senbonmatsu Ranch in 20–60 minutes. The meals were delicious, and since it’s all-inclusive, we really appreciated being able to enjoy as many drinks and snacks as we wanted. Rooms on the 3rd floor feature free-flowing hot spring water directly from the source. It also leaves your skin feeling wonderfully smooth. The dinner menu had changed since our previous stay, and it actually felt like both the seasoning and ingredients had improved compared to last time. The portions were generous, and we were very satisfied. They also run a night bar (?), and we were told children are welcome, so our kids stopped by for a special summer vacation late night—and they looked so happy, as if they’d joined the adults’ club. Since it’s rare to find an Accommodation where six people can stay with an in-room bath supplied with free-flowing hot spring water directly from the source, we would love to stay again. We had a fun and comfortable time. Thank you very much.

Absolutely amazing. In addition to dinner and breakfast, you can also enjoy alcohol (beer and more) as well as steamed meat buns and traditional sweets at check-in and during late-night snacks. Dinner features grilled eel, sushi, crab, shabu-shabu, and more, and breakfast also offers a wide variety—everything was extremely satisfying. The Hotel has karaoke, table tennis, darts, foosball-style soccer games, and more, so we had a great time. The only minor issue was that the Room air conditioning felt a bit outdated; otherwise the value is almost too good to share. We were very satisfied overall, including the Onsen.

Thank you for accommodating my food allergies—it was a great help. All the staff were always smiling and kind; thank you for your wonderful hospitality. The lukewarm Onsen was so relaxing, and I could soak for a long time. There are other Ryokan with cats, but the exceptional comfort here—so soothing it made me lose track of time—was truly special. For future guests: you may find a cat relaxing in the garden. Please drive in slowly when entering by car (ΦωΦ)

Once again, I was able to relax and enjoy the Onsen. Dinner was served early, which gave us plenty of time to unwind in the evening, and we really enjoyed it—thank you. The staff were warm and friendly, which made us feel at ease. We would love to stay again when we have the chance, and we are considering booking for others in our group as well. I always stay at Itoen Hotel when I travel. The Room was spacious, a blend of Japanese and Western style, and very clean. Since the Hotel isn’t very large, it was easy to get around with short walks to the dining area and the large public bath. The all-you-can-drink buffet at this price was very satisfying—there were two types of sake and three types of shochu, which was perfect for alcohol lovers. The large public bath was spacious and relaxing. As always, it was an Accommodation with excellent value that never disappoints. Thank you very much.

Due to bad weather, I arrived much later than my planned check-in time, but they accommodated me. My vehicle was about the size of a microbus, but they still allowed me to park, which was a huge help. Another place refused because of my vehicle size, so I really appreciated how willingly this Accommodation handled it. For a family of four, the 10-tatami Room was very spacious, and the kids were thrilled. The Facility is a bit old... The windows are thin and you can hear outside noise easily; the sound of rain echoes pleasantly in the Room. The shower pressure in the bath was a slight downside... Other than that, I have no complaints. An Accommodation that lets you park a vehicle of my size is invaluable, so I’ll stay here again next time. Thank you very much.

The open-air bath, large public bath, and sauna were all wonderful… Even though the meals were buffet-style, it never felt crowded, so we could eat comfortably, and of course the food was excellent… The all-you-can-drink option was also excellent in both variety and taste… The twin beds were spacious, and the Room size was more than satisfactory… Above all, the waterfall-view lounge… It had a different atmosphere during the day and at night, and I lost track of time just gazing out with a cup of coffee in hand! I wonder if the scenery is completely different during the autumn foliage season? Someday in autumn… it became an Accommodation I’d love to visit again!

We stayed here with a couple of friends on the middle day of a three-day holiday weekend. The exterior felt a bit old, but the Room had been well renovated and was clean. In addition to the large public bath, there are six private open-air baths that can be locked, including one beside the gorge.\nWe were able to forget about everyday life and truly enjoy our time as a couple.\nAlthough it is a large Ryokan, it feels like a family-run place and has a warm atmosphere. We plan to stay again.
