This time I took the Shinkansen to Sendai and used the free Shuttle Service bus from Sendai Station for a round trip. After arriving, I had a beer, and at dinner I ate and drank as well. I also got to use the pool, so I was very satisfied. Since I was traveling alone, my Room was a single and felt a bit small, but next time I'd like to go with friends and try staying in a larger Room. I'd like to visit again.

The price was reasonable compared to others, and it was great that the Room had a private Onsen. However, there was an issue: the sewage smell was extremely strong, which was disappointing. The odor came up from under the bathroom doorway and from the sink, making me feel unwell, and that was very unfortunate. (Later, I received an email from the owner explaining the cause and apologizing, but I wish it had been checked and inspected before my stay.) Also, since this plan was No Meals Included, it would have been helpful to have aluminum foil, plastic wrap, and a measuring cup for the rice cooker. Because the Accommodation is located in the mountains, I recommend arriving during daylight hours. There is nothing around it, so it was very quiet. I would like to stay again.

Although the building feels a bit dated, the Hotel is kept very clean, and since it’s not ski season, it’s a great location for a quiet and relaxing stay. It was also nice to be able to see the city night view from the Room. The meals (not buffet-style) were served promptly by the staff at just the right timing, and there was more than I could finish. They also took photos for us, and the service was excellent. There are a few minor inconveniences (I won’t go into details), but personally I think it’s a good place. If you’re looking for every possible amenity in a Hotel, you can always choose to stay somewhere more expensive.

Both dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious, and we were very satisfied!! The baths are divided into a large public bath and a natural hot spring bath; both were very relaxing, and the kids loved them. We’d love to visit again if we have the chance!

This was my second stay, and it was relaxing again. I have stayed at other accommodations in Zao Onsen several times, but this accommodation is highly recommended in every aspect—Onsen, meals, and price. During my previous stay, the elevator directly connected to the open-air bath was out of order, which was inconvenient. This time it had been repaired, making access from the room to the open-air bath smooth—I ended up using it five times. Both dinner and breakfast were served as set meals, and we were very satisfied with the quality and variety. We stayed as a family of three and felt refreshed in every way. We will definitely return. Thank you again for a wonderful stay.

Stayed after visiting Matsushima! The kids enjoyed making prayer beads at Entsuin Temple. We also lined up for 30 minutes before opening to try the famous Sendai beef tongue, and it was worth the wait—delicious! Check-in and check-out times being separate was a bit inconvenient. We received a breakfast coupon and took out drinks on our way back—thank you! However, it would have been even better if that discount could be applied to the Room rate instead. The Onsen was amazing and left us impressed. It would have been perfect if there were one more bedroom. Unfortunately, we couldn't see the stars due to rain, but the kids loved the large bed—thank you so much!

Everything was excellent, including the surrounding environment. The staff and the proprietress were all impeccable in their hospitality. Thank you very much. We will visit again in November to see the autumn leaves.

I traveled with my son, and we were completely satisfied with the hospitality. If you have time, there seem to be various activities you can enjoy after check-in. (We checked in after 5:00 p.m., so we didn’t use them.) The restaurant food was excellent. It’s a buffet, but it covers most of Yamagata’s local specialties. The main dish—wood-fired Zao beef—really lets you taste the meat’s natural flavor, and it pairs perfectly with red wine. All-you-can-drink wine from Takeda Winery and Woody Farm was included, which was amazing. Even beer (Asahi and Heartland) was all-you-can-drink—what a surprise. Next time, I’d like to stay with my whole family. Thank you very much!

The building itself isn’t exactly new, and the room showed some noticeable signs of repairs… but I was truly able to spend a deeply relaxing time. The private open-air bath was wonderful and felt amazing, and the indoor bath was also bright and airy with large windows. But my favorite was actually the shared open-air bath. The water temperature was just right for a long, leisurely soak, and the scenery at night and in the morning felt completely different—both were truly captivating. I also used the foot acupressure massager that was set up after bathing, and it felt incredible! And above all, the meals! Both the meat and fish were delicious, and looking at the course as a whole, there wasn’t a single moment where I thought “I wish they had this too”—it was completely satisfying from start to finish. I couldn’t believe you can enjoy food of this quality with a course priced at just under 13,000 yen these days. Having dinner served in the room made it even better… And being able to place orders by smartphone was so convenient. Most of all, the smile of the staff member who brought everything to us—it genuinely soothed me. I could go on forever about what I loved… The welcome sweets on arrival were delicious, the coffee available throughout our stay was great… and then there’s the rooftop! I’ll never forget spending time on that quiet, open rooftop terrace. The futon bedding had a nice weight to it so I slept soundly—I’m beyond satisfied. It made me think: I definitely want to stay again. Oh—but next time I’ll choose a room with an en-suite toilet! Haha. Thank you very much for everything!

We stayed with two dogs. Some parts of the Facility feel a bit dated, but our Room had been renovated and was clean. The baths—both the indoor bath and the private open-air bath—had great water quality, temperature, and atmosphere, and we were able to fully enjoy Zao’s Onsen. We could also enjoy our meals together with our dogs and truly appreciated the warm hospitality.
