The hospitality, meals, and Onsen were outstanding—this was a wonderful Ryokan. The service from the international staff was very polite, and everyone had such lovely smiles; it felt truly warm and welcoming. Highly recommended! As for the Onsen, there were an open-air bath, family baths (private baths), and an indoor bath. During our stay we used the family baths and the open-air bath—the open-air bath felt wonderfully spacious, and with three different family baths to choose from, we never got bored!

I stayed one night in the larger of the two Accommodation rooms. The Room is in one of two lodging buildings located slightly uphill from the reception and the private day-use Onsen area. The Onsen is about the size shown in the photos (around three tatami mats), with fresh hot water continuously flowing in. The Onsen room is separated from the outside by plastic shoji screens; when you open them all, you can enjoy the outdoor view like an open-air bath, soaking in an airy atmosphere while listening to birdsong. There is a ledge inside along the edge of the tub at a height you can sit on, so you can even lie back while bathing. Honestly, it feels unbelievably good! The shoji screens can also be locked, so it feels safe at night. 　There is also a balcony, and smokers are apparently asked to smoke there. There was absolutely no smell of cigarettes in the Room. The refrigerator includes a freezer compartment, and there is also a microwave and toaster oven. There didn’t seem to be anywhere nearby to eat, so we brought frozen meals for both dinner and breakfast, heated them in the microwave, and ate in the Room. The refrigerator had two free 500 mL bottles each of mineral water and sparkling water. It was nice to be able to hydrate during bathing as well. Two drip coffees are provided free of charge, and there’s also a teapot and tea cups for Japanese tea—excellent service overall. Wi‑Fi was fast and stress-free thanks to an in-room router. 　At night we could hear owls, and in the morning we woke up to birds such as bush warblers—an environment where you can truly enjoy nature. Some online Reviews mentioned that it was “cold,” but besides air conditioning there is also gas heating installed, so I don’t think it would feel cold even in winter. I visited in mid-May; I used cooling during daytime and heating at night on the air conditioner settings, which was comfortable. The bed had a down duvet, and mattress firmness was very comfortable as well—one of the best sleeps I’ve had among many Hotels. 　The hot spring water is clear and colorless with a relatively smooth feel. After arriving I enjoyed long Onsen baths right away, went again after dinner, then briefly before bed. The next day I woke early for another soak right away, then took one more long bath after breakfast. It’s perfect if your goal is simply quiet time soaking in an Onsen. 　This is an Onsen Accommodation I want to stay at again and again.”

The staff and accommodation were exceptional, filled with thoughtful care and attention. Originally a private villa, it has been converted into a full rental-style accommodation. We chose a meal-inclusive plan, and while the portions were more than we could usually finish, the food was so delicious that we tried our best to eat it all... though we did leave a little (apologies!). On the checkout day, it was cold with snow on the ground. The staff and owner kindly brought tire chains for safety, which amazed us with their kindness. Fortunately, our rental car had winter tires, so we didn’t need them. Overall, this was an outstanding accommodation featuring incredible hospitality, state-of-the-art appliances, and an onsen!

This time, I stayed with a friend. Due to the earthquake, there were fewer tourists, so the Onsen town felt a bit quiet, but the Accommodation had a warm, homey atmosphere and the staff were kind, making it very comfortable to stay. The meal was my first irori kaiseki dinner; it was delicious and very filling. However, during our Onsen-hopping, several places were closed, which was the only disappointment.

It looked just like the photos, but seeing it in person, the Room exceeded my expectations, and the IKEA-furnished interior was wonderful!! I also loved that the indoor bath was hotter while the open-air bath was cooler—the open-air bath felt so relaxing, as if it blended into nature. It was such a comfortable stay from start to finish that one night felt like a waste!! Next time I come to Kumamoto, I’d love to stay in this Room for two nights or more!! Thank you very much for such a lovely Accommodation!!

The onsen was out of order, so we used nearby onsens with a pass. The accommodation staff were kind, and the meals were enjoyable and delicious. The breakfast rice was shiny and very tasty. I would love to try the onsen once it is fixed.

The hostess and her daughter were very friendly, and it was a relaxing Accommodation. The Onsen was also free-flowing, and the open-air bath was wonderful. I would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

I’ve stayed here twice as a solo traveler! Each Room is in a separate annex and comes with a 24-hour free-flowing Onsen, so I loved being able to enjoy it anytime. The bath was also large enough for several people, which was amazing! The Room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Meals were served in a private dining room, so privacy was fully maintained and I could relax and enjoy them. The seafood, meat, and rice were all delicious—I was completely full and very satisfied! The service was pleasant as well; it’s a wonderful Accommodation. I’d love to stay again!

I wasn’t originally planning to visit Kurokawa Onsen, but a friend recommended it, so I looked for an Accommodation available on my dates and decided to stay. I’m sorry for being rude, but I didn’t have very high expectations. When I entered the Room, it had underfloor heating—even in the washroom. The in-room bath was spacious, and the water quality was excellent; it was such a pleasant Onsen that I wanted to soak again and again. I stayed for two nights. The meals felt carefully prepared with great attention to detail. With course-style feasts you can sometimes start to feel overwhelmed, but that never happened here—strangely enough. I don’t know if it was the chef’s sense and skill, the seasoning, or the choice of ingredients and menu, but everything was truly delicious. I was completely satisfied and felt genuinely happy. After dinner we returned to our Room, and they had warmed our sandals—thank you for such thoughtful care. Thank you as well to all the lovely staff. I hope to visit again. Thank you very much for taking care of us.

Both the cuisine and the service are excellent. The Room has a traditional Japanese farmhouse style, and we were able to relax.

Simply the best. The Onsen, cuisine, atmosphere, and service—everything was outstanding. Above all, the hospitality from the staff was truly exceptional, and I felt comfortable from arrival to departure. Soaking in the Onsen in the quiet mountains and enjoying delicious food. It was a luxurious time like no other. I will definitely come again. Next time, I’d like a Multiple Night Stay.

I’d been looking forward to the opening of La Vista Minami Aso and stayed during the pre-opening period. The previous Hotel also offered a magnificent, expansive view of Mt. Aso, and while that scenery remains unchanged, the interiors and Facility have been completely renewed. I was able to fully enjoy Aso in comfort—from the spacious lobby and Room to the baths. A few small notes: For the welcome drink in the lobby after check-in, I had coffee, but it would be even better if beer were available earlier (not only from 6:00 p.m.) and if decaf coffee were offered. As for dining, dinner was a La Vista–style course meal and breakfast was a buffet. Both featured many ingredients from Kumamoto Prefecture, and everything was delicious. I’d be happy if the breakfast buffet had a slightly wider dessert selection. The baths were wonderful as well—great views of Aso from the large public bath, plus private baths and a sauna. The post-bath ice cream and massage chairs were also a nice touch. It was disappointing that the probiotic milk drinks (Yakult) ran out quickly during my morning bath. The late-night ramen service common to Kyoritsu Resort was delicious (if I may be indulgent, I’d love it if there were two varieties like in Kirishima). Since it was during the pre-opening period, there may have been some areas where staff were still getting used to things; however, their sincere effort really came through. Wishing you all the best toward the grand opening. I’d love to stay again.

I stayed at Tsuetate Onsen for the first time. Despite being in a region where space along the river is limited, the parking lot was conveniently located nearby. The staff's hospitality was excellent, making my stay very comfortable, and the meals were absolutely delicious. The accommodation's bath was spacious and impressive, but the highlight was "Kissho no Yu," an outdoor onsen with five open-air baths nestled in the forest—truly a relaxing experience. I would love to stay at this accommodation again!

Because we could bring our dog to almost everywhere on the property, we didn’t need to leave them alone in the Room and were able to relax comfortably. Pet amenities, treats, welcome drinks, complimentary sake, marshmallows by the campfire, alcoholic beverages in the refrigerator, ice cream, cooking utensils, seasonings—the list goes on; it truly felt all-inclusive and there was nothing to complain about. After we got home and told our family about it, they said they’d love to go too—so we would definitely like to stay again.

The pleasantly warm bathwater was wonderful, and I could soak slowly for a long time. The Room was spacious and very well cleaned, so I had a comfortable stay. There is a convenience store right next door, which is very convenient. While Kumamoto City was over 30°C, Aso was cool and we didn’t need air conditioning in the mornings or evenings. I really enjoyed a relaxing hot-spring retreat. If I could ask for just one thing, it would be great if the Room lighting had a remote control.

Overall, everything was excellent. The best part was the service during meals. They were very attentive in many ways, which I really appreciated. I would like to stay here again.

I have visited Kurokawa Onsen more than 10 times, and among them, the meals were top-class for both dinner and breakfast—I was very satisfied. The Room was a spacious Japanese-Western style, and the semi-open-air bath in the Room was extremely relaxing, allowing me to unwind at a leisurely pace. Originally, I planned to stay on Friday, but due to an approaching typhoon I had to request a last-minute change the day before to stay on Saturday instead. Thank you very much for accommodating my request so kindly. The only issue was the stool provided in the in-room bath area for washing—it was too small for adults, and I felt like it might tip over when sitting on it. I understand there may be space constraints in the washing area, but I think there is room for improvement. I would definitely like to stay again if I have another opportunity.

We stayed with our dog and our family of four. We were moved to see wild deer on the way there. For our small dog, the step up to the sofa was a bit concerning. Having to lay out the futons ourselves on the tatami was a little inconvenient. The pillows were too high for us. The terrace was very pleasant, and our dog happily played on the lawn. Next time, we’d like to book a Multiple Night Stay and relax at a slower pace.
