I’ve been wanting to visit in every season since my last stay, but our schedules never lined up, so we ended up returning in July again. The cedar-lined path from the Accommodation to Hakone Shrine felt cool and refreshing even under the strong sun, and we were lucky enough to hear the evening cicadas singing—reminding me once again how wonderful Hakone is. Even during dinner we could occasionally hear them; together with the thoughtfully prepared dishes with elegant seasoning and the recommended sake, it made for a truly luxurious time. The next day, after enjoying a healthy breakfast carefully prepared, we were kindly driven to Motohakone Port. From the deck of the pirate ship, we cruised while looking at Mt. Fuji and fully enjoying the cool breeze. We’ll be back again.

Now in my 40s and with my parents in their 70s, I stayed here for a special parent-and-child trip. Unfortunately, it rained, but in the end we had an extremely satisfying stay. The sense of history, the tasteful architecture and furnishings, the staff’s hospitality, the wonderful meals (we dined at Le Trianon for both dinner and breakfast), and the cleanliness of the large public bath—plus the stunning view from the open-air bath—were all outstanding. My parents were truly delighted as well. In particular, Le Trianon’s breakfast course was the best we have ever had on any trip! Each dish—from the egg dishes to the smoothies—was carefully explained to us, making it a memorable experience (I was especially impressed that they used eggs from my hometown). Recently I stayed at newer luxury hotels in Karuizawa and Atami in a similar price range to this Hotel, but this historic Hotel clearly stands apart in terms of service and atmosphere. I hope to return with my family someday. Thank you very much.

The Room was spacious, and we could relax with a calm view of Lake Ashi right in front of us. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t great so we couldn’t see Mt. Fuji, but we hope to come back again on a clear day.

This Accommodation has become more upscale in recent years and is now a bit of a splurge for me, so I visited this time to take advantage of a great deal. As always, the Onsen was wonderful, the meals were delicious, and the Room was spacious and very comfortable. I was also happy that you remembered my various requests from previous stays. Thank you to all the staff for your hospitality again—I’d love to visit again when I find another opportunity.

It was a wonderful Accommodation. The Room size and the open-air bath were both just right for relaxing. The staff were also lovely, with the perfect sense of distance, and it was very soothing. I’m quite strict about cleanliness, but it was flawless. I’d love to stay again. For this price, the quality makes me want to come back.

We stayed in the largest Room. Even the bath in the Room had a view of Lake Ashi. For dinner, our second son wanted Western food, so we chose French cuisine. It was delicious!! He especially liked the bread. The women’s bath was amazing too, with an open-air bath and a mist sauna!! We happened to stay on a day when there were fireworks. We went to watch from a spot where you can see them from the observation deck and the bridge below. They looked absolutely beautiful! In the evening, the lounge becomes a free lounge where you can enjoy drinks and snacks! At check-in, we also booked in-Room massages for all four of us!! I fell asleep halfway through. For breakfast, we chose Japanese cuisine. The grilled fish was horse mackerel and it was delicious!! It’s a Hotel I’d love to stay at again when visiting Hakone.

We have four dogs, including a Golden Retriever and a Mameshiba, so we always stay in a villa with a private dog run. However, every time we’ve felt that something was always just slightly inconvenient—but RETONA was perfect. Since there’s a splash pond in the dog run, we thought we should bring towels, but there were towels right at the entrance, along with a water tank for dogs and bowls. We also received one complimentary drink per person from the vending machine at the dog-run entrance!! Thanks to that, our dogs were able to run around the spacious dog run to their hearts’ content and slept soundly at night. For dinner, since our dogs are always with us as usual, we assumed the food would end up getting cold—but each dish was served at just the right time: hot items while still hot and cold items while still cold. Everything was delicious—the soup and even the mango vegetable juice—and the appetizers were presented like an afternoon tea set: not only tasty but also beautifully arranged. Whenever we met any staff member, they greeted us with wonderful smiles, and they even helped carry our luggage upon arrival—which was truly helpful for our multi-dog household. The bath in our Room was very spacious as well, everything was spotless throughout, and above all we didn’t feel any drawbacks or inconvenience at all. We travel at least five or six times a year, and during long holidays we often stay about four nights. We would absolutely love to visit again. Thank you very much.

I’ve visited Hakone several times on day trips, but this time we took a three-day, two-night summer getaway before my wife’s birthday. We used a hometown tax donation coupon and enjoyed a Multiple Night Stay at Haori. It was a wonderful Accommodation that lived up to its reputation. We also received an unexpected Room upgrade, and were able to relax in a spacious Room and spend a truly restful time. It became a memorable trip—thank you very much. The morning footbath terrace felt exceptionally refreshing.

We always stay here when we visit Hakone. This was our third time, and since our son had been saying he wanted to come again and again, we looked forward to enjoying a family stay. From the matcha served at check-in, to the Japanese garden with a koi pond on the way to our Room, taking off our shoes before entering the Accommodation building, and then stepping into a simple tatami Room reminiscent of a tea room, decorated with wildflowers. The calm sense of security in the Room and the beauty of the Japanese garden seen from the open-air bath truly soothe us. The meals are wonderful every time, and we are grateful that you also serve such luxurious dishes for children. By chance, it was also the day of Lake Ashi’s fireworks, so we went to see them as well, making our family summer memories even more vivid. Thank you very much for your hospitality. We would love to return.

Perhaps because it has just been renovated, the Facility was very beautiful and felt clean throughout. This time I stayed on a Plan without meals. Dinner and breakfast seem to be served mainly as set meals, but considering the price, I would personally be even happier if there were a buffet option. Especially for breakfast, having a buffet where you can choose what you like in the amount you want would make it easier to use casually. There is also a lounge available for guests, which was nice for relaxing. However, I felt satisfaction would be even higher with a few more light snacks or small nibbles. As for the Accommodation Fee, considering how clean the Facility is along with the service and Onsen, I think it is generally reasonably priced. The best part was the open-air bath. It felt very spacious and I could enjoy the Onsen at a leisurely pace, which was very satisfying. In smaller details, I appreciated that tags were provided to prevent mixing up slippers. Also, although this time it was a Room with futons, it was more comfortable than expected; the pillow suited me well and I slept soundly. Security also felt solid with features such as automatic locks and an in-room safe. At check-in my luggage was carried to my Room and I received a thorough explanation of the property. The staff were courteous as well, making my stay pleasant. On the other hand, I would like to see improvement in that Wi-Fi connection was sometimes unstable. Also, there are not many places nearby to walk around for entertainment, so this Hotel seems best suited for stays focused on relaxing at the Hotel itself. Overall, this Accommodation offered high satisfaction thanks to its Onsen, beautiful Facility, and attentive service. Although I stayed without meals this time, next time I would like to consider a Plan that includes meals.

We stayed in the 5th-floor Suite with our dog as a family of three. Unfortunately, it was cloudy and we couldn’t see Mt. Fuji, but the view from the Room and the bath were excellent. However, we were really looking forward to watching a movie as a family using the projector and surround sound system, but after renting a movie, the system stopped connecting due to a technical issue during playback... We contacted customer support, but they told us that the network connection around Lake Ashi is poor and asked for our understanding. If that’s the case, we wish you wouldn’t promote the projector and surround sound system as key features of the Room, and would have informed us of this limitation from the start. We ended up wasting quite a bit of time troubleshooting, but aside from that, we enjoyed both the barbecue and breakfast, and had an overall pleasant stay.

It was a wonderful Accommodation. I got completely absorbed in the golf simulator and ended up swinging for over six hours.

We stayed as a group of 6 adults. First of all, the owner was very kind and considerate, even before our stay. Thank you so much! The plan included breakfast, which featured delicious items like bread, roast beef, fruits, and Hakone rusk provided in the room. The portions were generous and we were very satisfied. The bath was spacious, the room was clean, and we had an extremely comfortable stay. The sauna was also great! It would be nice if the issue with BS channels not being available and the difficulty in figuring out how to fill the bath could be improved, but other than that everything was perfect. It’s a wonderful place!

Five of us stayed together, and both the bedroom and living room were spacious, very clean, and extremely comfortable. Check-in was smooth as well! The amenities were well stocked, including loungewear, and it was very helpful to have plenty of provided tableware, cooking utensils, and seasonings. Above all, the sauna heated up to a high temperature in a relatively short time—it was fantastic! If I had to mention one thing, we would have loved one or two more relaxation chairs, but it was such a great Accommodation that it felt almost too good for the price during the Obon holiday period.

It’s a small Accommodation, but the Room had an open-air bath, and the futon was wonderfully fluffy. The food was also very delicious. Our attendant was from Malaysia, and her smile was lovely—she served us wholeheartedly. Thank you very much. What concerned me was that the dishes were served a little slowly; my husband, after having some drinks, fell asleep halfway through. Also, since there are only private baths and the in-room open-air bath (no large public bath), we found ourselves watching the time when going to use the private bath. I deducted points for those reasons, but it was an Accommodation where we could relax at a leisurely pace.

We stayed with our 3-year-old child. Since we were in the LOCA THE CLASS Room, there was a sauna in the basement and a large bath that could fit about 4–5 people. Including the post-bath relaxation area, it was very spacious and thoughtfully designed. It was great that even with a child, we could bathe comfortably. There was also a refrigerator in the changing room, stocked with plenty of bottled water. It was very helpful to be able to drink cold water immediately after bathing or using the sauna without having to go up to the living room on the first floor. We didn’t use them, but there were also powdered drinks provided for before and after the sauna. The living room was spacious as well, and there were two bedrooms. The Japanese-style Room had a tatami area that became almost full once two futons were laid out, which made it feel safe and comfortable for our child at bedtime. On the other hand, there was one disappointing incident during our stay. Early in the morning, the fire alarm suddenly went off with a loud siren throughout the Accommodation. We were later told it was due to an accidental operation in another Room, but it took about an hour for security staff to check and reset everything. During that time, the alarm kept sounding continuously, so we evacuated with our child to a relatively quiet terrace. Afterward, an operator contacted us to confirm what had happened and asked whether we would still be able to make checkout on time. Since it overlapped with breakfast and getting ready in the morning, we explained it would be difficult and they extended our checkout by about 30 minutes. We appreciate their consideration; however, we had hoped to spend a relaxing morning (including enjoying another bath), so that part was unfortunate. I also saw other Reviews on different sites mentioning issues related to fire alarms. As it seems many guests come from overseas as well, I would appreciate it if you could consider measures to prevent recurrence—such as providing clearer instructions at check-in on how to handle fire alarms. Overall, both the Facility and Room itself were extremely comfortable—this is a wonderful Accommodation that is easy for families to enjoy.

The view from the Room was wonderful. We had a clear view of Lake Ashi and Mt. Fuji. The view from the main building’s Onsen was also great. All the staff welcomed us with warm smiles and provided pleasant service. We would love to stay again.

We stayed for one night with six people on a family trip. Based on the description on the site, we expected two people would be sleeping together on futons, but you provided a simple bed for one person, which was very helpful. We wanted to have a BBQ and contacted you in advance with various questions; you always replied quickly, which we really appreciated. However, the BBQ terrace has only limited roofing, so when it rained we couldn’t eat outside. (We moved the grill under the small covered area to cook and managed to eat at the indoor table.) Since mountain weather changes quickly, please keep this in mind if you’re planning a BBQ. There was plenty of oil, seasonings, and cutlery—very helpful! The nearest convenience store is about 5 minutes away by car, so we recommend buying everything at once. The building itself was clean, and the Onsen was spacious and wonderful! The Onsen was already filled at check-in and had that distinctive Onsen scent. There’s also a sauna area with an outdoor cooling space and a cold plunge pool, so you can fully enjoy it! Since towels are also used for the toilet and kitchen areas, it would be nice to have extra towels in addition to one per person. Overall, it was a very good Accommodation! We’d love to stay again if we have another opportunity!

This was my second stay, and once again I was very satisfied with both the generous portions and the delicious food. There were so many kinds of salad at dinner, both in variety and quantity—even the owner said he wasn’t sure how many there were. The salad alone can fill you up, but the bread was also excellent, and the hamburger steak was wonderfully meaty—very satisfying. The Onsen is a private bath. It’s close to the source spring, with a strong sulfur smell, and iron tends to oxidize. The temperature is just right, so you can soak slowly and relax. That said, the Facility is a bit old (the owner even joked it’s like a haunted house...), so it depends on whether it feels worth it for the price. For the Eco Plan, be sure to prepare properly yourself—bring changes of clothes, trash bags, etc. Once you get used to it, you won’t mind how old things are; it actually feels quite comfortable. We’ll be back again. Thank you very much.

We stayed during Golden Week as a family of four. The Accommodation is new and the facilities are clean, so we had a fun and comfortable stay. One thing we noticed is that perhaps because part of the floor is heated, it would be nice to have indoor slippers. Also, there were many very fine fibers on the bath towels. They were washed cleanly, so it may happen during drying. In addition, the signal around the Accommodation was unstable, so we couldn’t check maps on our phones and it took quite a while to find the place. Since there are no signs, we should have taken screenshots or printed directions in advance. After arriving, we fully enjoyed the Onsen and BBQ, and it turned into a wonderful trip. The Hakone craft beer was delicious as well. Thank you very much.
