For the past 4–5 years, we have visited around the May holidays, but this time we came to Amami during the July holiday weekend. Instead of the unsettled weather before the rainy season, we enjoyed consecutive clear days and were soothed by Amami’s truly beautiful blue sea and sea turtles. As always, the staff’s outstanding hospitality and pleasant conversations make us want to come back again. The Room is a comfortable size, and soaking in the outdoor bath on the deck while looking up at the starry sky—along with the tropical plants in view—really helps you unwind. With tasteful amenities and consistently fun, delicious meals, this is a Hotel where you can take your time and enjoy both breakfast and dinner at a relaxed pace, truly feeling like you’re on holiday. We plan to visit again next July. Since I love Hawaii, I’m planning another trip next month as well—but this feels like what you’d choose in Hawaii when you want to relax on an outer island rather than Oahu or Waikiki. I think it’s an ideal place to do nothing but swim in the ocean and enjoy how wonderful it feels to gaze at a star-filled sky.

They upgraded us to a suite Room—both nights! The Room was very spacious, spotless, and felt extremely clean, and the Facility was great. We also used the large public bath; it was an Onsen and felt wonderful, and it was clean as well. I was impressed that the in-room drinks included Takarabou Onsen water. Breakfast was delicious, especially the bread. The tables were spaced far apart, so we could relax and really enjoy our breakfast. Thanks to Sundays, our trip to Amami Oshima became a wonderful one. The staff were kind as well. We will definitely stay again next time! Thank you very much.

We arrived in heavy rain and were feeling pretty discouraged, but this Hotel was so wonderful even in the rain that we were truly glad we chose it. On the second day, the weather cleared beautifully, and the Pacific Ocean stretching out right in front of our Room was breathtaking. The meals made great use of local ingredients, and every dish had its own charm. Thanks to dinner and breakfast being offered in time slots we could choose from, we were able to relax and take our time while enjoying the ocean view. After breakfast, we stepped out from the restaurant into the garden and came across many rare tropical plants—banana trees with blossoms and fruit, pandanus (adan), hibiscus, shell ginger flowers—and even hermit crabs. We also used the two private family baths twice, which completely washed away our travel fatigue. Everyone on the staff—from the restaurant to throughout the Hotel—was very kind, and they shared lots of local tips you won’t find in guidebooks. The Oshima Tsumugi Museum was also outstanding. It felt like we learned a bit about Amami Oshima’s history, making it a truly meaningful experience. Thanks to this trip, we also discovered painter Kazuo Tanaka (Isson) and became big fans. We would definitely love to stay at this Hotel again next time.

This is a well-established, reliable Hotel in Amami. There is an Onsen on the top floor, and soaking in the open-air bath while taking in a panoramic view of Naze Port washes away your fatigue. From your Room, the ocean is right in front of you. The sea below has coral reefs, and tropical fish—even Nemo and friends—swim by. The staff are kind and always make you feel comfortable, so it feels like coming home. Whenever I visit Amami, I spend one night here and have dinner at Yani. Resting while looking out over Amami’s sea from your Room feels wonderful, and in the morning you can relax over breakfast with views of the garden and ocean—this is a Hotel that leaves you feeling refreshed.

Whenever I stay at a Hotel, I usually hear some noise (people talking or mysterious banging), but this time it was almost silent and I ended up sleeping for 12 hours. It was very comfortable, with an ice dispenser essential for hot Amami Oshima, a large public bath, washing machines, and an inexpensive gas station nearby. There’s also an AEON close enough to see but not within walking distance. I stayed in different Rooms on the first and second nights (because they don’t clean after just one night), and they kindly moved the luggage I didn’t need for sightseeing into the Room for my second night. This was a perfect Hotel stay for me after a long time. Please let me stay again!

Clean and very convenient, with an airport bus stop just nearby. I didn’t use the bath this time, but it looked clean and I don’t think there would be any issues. I’d like to stay here again.

Modern, clean Room overlooking the beach. Delicious meals you could enjoy day after day without getting tired of them. Cozy, home-like hospitality. Best of all, a beautiful beach where sea turtles and many kinds of fish swim—reserved exclusively for this Hotel’s guests.

My mother and I stayed here together in late April. We stayed in a beachfront Room with a wonderful ocean view. It was a lovely stay: we could hear the waves all day, woke up to the sound of the waves in the morning, and fell asleep peacefully to them at night. Hardly anyone came to the beach right in front of our Room, so we were able to enjoy private time. Occasionally other guests took photos around check-in/check-out times, but there were blinds, so we felt comfortable and at ease. We had both breakfast and dinner at 2waters. The healthy, delicious dishes made with local island ingredients were beautiful to look at as well, and enjoying them while looking out at the sea made the experience even more special. The souvenir shop at Ma-gun Plaza also had a stylish selection, different from what you find at airport shops, so we were able to buy great souvenirs. It was my first time visiting Amami Oshima, but experiencing Amami culture warmed my heart. All of the staff were very kind. If I have the chance, I would love to stay again.

Affordable, steps from the beach, with Shuttle Service to the airport. There is also a pool, and amenities are well stocked. This Hotel is comfortable for everyone—families, couples, and solo travelers. I’ll definitely stay again.

I visited without high expectations for a Hotel in a small port town, but I was very satisfied with the Room. Although there was no view because it is in the city center, the Room was spacious, clean, and calmly furnished. The front desk staff and the breakfast restaurant staff were also very pleasant and welcoming. There are several places to eat nearby, and if I have another chance to visit Kakeroma, I would definitely stay here again. I accidentally left my bag at the breakfast restaurant, but as soon as I noticed, they kindly brought it all the way to my Room. Thank you very much.

Although the Hotel is old, I think it is conveniently located for going anywhere. The front desk staff were pleasant and helpful. I traveled with a friend, and we were satisfied to get a spacious Room at a low price, but perhaps due to staff shortages, there were a few hairs in the corner of the toilet, which was the only disappointment. Considering the price, everything else was good value for money.

- The view is excellent, and the sea in front is generally calm as it faces the bay. - The living dining area is spacious, with stylish and large furnishings, allowing for a relaxing stay. - The amenities are well-provided, using the property's shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. High-end hairdryers are conveniently placed in each bathroom and room. - There are plenty of changes of room wear and towels, so there is no inconvenience. - Wi-fi was available without any issues. - The free drinks (shochu, beer, bottled tea and sparkling water, fruit juice, etc.) are well-stocked, and there is rosé wine and champagne in the cellar for a fee. - Depending on the length of stay, it may be necessary to purchase additional hot drinks such as coffee and tea. - The free food beef stew is delicious. - If self-catering, it is necessary to procure seasonings. Glasses, tableware, cooking utensils, and plastic wrap are provided. - There are no shops nearby, so a car is needed for shopping or dining out, but this allows for a quiet stay. - It takes about 10 minutes by car to the nearest supermarket. - The course by the visiting chef (for a fee) was very delicious, utilizing local ingredients. - The property is located down an alley, and the sign is placed close to the ground, making it easy to miss. Extra caution is needed, especially at night, as there are no streetlights in the area. - At night, the surroundings become completely dark, so if the weather is clear, you can see a beautiful starry sky from the terrace. - The beach in front of the property is almost exclusively for guests, but occasionally anglers come to the breakwater (the distance to the end of the breakwater is considerable, so it is not particularly bothersome). - If you put your feet in the sea or do SUP, you won't feel the cold, but if you participate in marine activities such as snorkeling, wearing a wetsuit is necessary.

This is a repeat stay. I believe this is the nicest Accommodation on Amami Oshima. The ocean is right in front of you, and you can even see sea turtles while snorkeling. You can also see the ocean from the bathtub, and there is a kitchen for self-catering. We will come again next year.

My check-in was late due to the ferry schedule, but they kindly accommodated me. In the living room, guests were happily chatting with the hosts! On the day I left, they saw me off even in the heat and took a commemorative photo with me! I had a very comfortable stay and would love to come again! Thank you very much!

We stayed for 3 nights during our summer vacation trip with our child. It was our first time using smart check-in, and we were worried it might not go smoothly, but it was fine. If we visit Amami again, we’d like to stay here again. It’s conveniently located about a 10-minute drive from the airport, clean, and reasonably priced—overall we were very satisfied. Summary ・The Room was very clean! Since there is no cleaning service for a 3-night stay, we borrowed a floor wiper and cleaned ourselves. ・We watched the night sky from the rooftop. It was around the full moon, so according to locals the sky was bright and the stars weren’t at their best, but it was still beautiful and felt like a special escape. ・Since we didn’t go out at night with our child, it was great that we could watch TVer, Amazon Prime Video, and YouTube in the Room. ・Only a 30-second walk to the beach! We had it all to ourselves and enjoyed it fully. Even starting in the late afternoon was enough time to play, so our child didn’t get bored. It was also convenient to be able to shower before going back into the Room. The sea was so clear that we ended up buying snorkeling gear on short notice. ・There are two washing machines and two dryers. Because it’s a busy season with many guests, it was inconvenient having to wait for others to come pick up their laundry. Especially at night, if your timing is bad they can be in use no matter how many times you check. ・As other Reviewers have mentioned, there are truly very few restaurants nearby. Many places are only open during the day (e.g., until 6:00 PM), so it’s best to plan dinner in advance. The nearest convenience store is also about a 10–15 minute drive away.

Located in a quiet residential area, the nights are peaceful—you’ll hear little more than the sound of insects. On clear days, you can also enjoy a sky full of stars. The Facilities and amenities are very well stocked, including several items not listed on the website. Everything is high quality and thoughtfully selected. We especially appreciated the gas dryer, which dried clothes quickly and was extremely useful for us since we did marine activities every day. The owner couple were also very kind, and they kindly gave us a loaf of local brown sugar bread from a neighborhood bakery, which made for a delicious breakfast during our stay. This is an Accommodation we would love to stay at again. Thank you very much.

We were really looking forward to the included marine gear. With unlimited use of SUP boards and more, we enjoyed ourselves until it got dark—and again as much as we wanted in the morning. The ocean is right in front of you, so it was great to change into a swimsuit and head straight into the water. After playing, we could rinse off at the outdoor shower and hop right into the heated jacuzzi, which warmed us up nicely. Even when we weren’t in the water, it was wonderful to relax on the spacious terrace with tea and fully enjoy the resort atmosphere. The Room was also spacious, and we loved wrapping up in a large blanket and unwinding on the sofa. The shop across the road also offers takeout like rice-flour churros and coffee—so good! Chaco, the resident dog, was adorable! The shop had lots of lovely items that are perfect for souvenirs. Next time, we’d love to stay at least two nights and spend plenty of time enjoying the sea. The scenery, sauna, interior design, and meals were all excellent! I stayed at "Sotetsu," and the view from the balcony was amazing, so I spent a lot of time there. Among the various artists' works on display, I purchased a wooden flower vase. I was pleased that the barbecue delivery service took care of the preparation and cleanup. I would like to use it again next year.
