We visited looking forward to the meals and the in-Room Onsen. The food was even more delicious than we imagined, and the attentive hospitality was wonderful—we enjoyed everything from the first appetizer to the final dessert. The next morning’s breakfast also made us happy, as we could enjoy a variety of dishes little by little. If we had been going straight home that day, I would have loved to buy some bread to take with us. The in-Room bath had a generously sized tub, so we could soak and relax at length. We also enjoyed both the open-air bath and indoor bath in the private Onsen. The Room felt comforting, like staying at someone’s home, and we were able to truly unwind. The kitchen is well equipped, so you could cook for yourself (though there was absolutely no need). Personally, I was especially glad that the refrigerator was full-sized—I could easily fit an entire boxed birthday cake inside. The chilled water in that refrigerator had a subtle sweetness too; I ended up loving it and drank it so quickly that I had to get up multiple times during the night to use the bathroom (laugh). I’d love to come back for the winter gratin as well, but I hesitate at the thought of snow piling up as high as 2 meters. We’ll choose our season carefully, but we will definitely return!!

This was our first stay. We arrived early, but the staff were very kind and helpful, and we are grateful. The indoor bath—especially the open-air bath—was outstanding in both water quality and scenery. The meals were delicious, with more variety and quantity than we could finish. We would definitely like to stay again next year.

Twice a year, the four of us travel together. This time, Tomuraushi Higashi Taisetsuso was a truly hidden hot spring inn—we loved it. The Onsen was excellent. The meals were so generous that there was almost too much for us seniors. On our next trip, two of us will be turning 80. We hope we can keep traveling for as long as possible. Thank you for giving us such wonderful memories.

Although we arrived a little late, we were welcomed warmly. The atmosphere of the building—and that wonderful feeling as we walked down the corridor to our room and were shown inside—was unforgettable. The meals were also excellent; we thoroughly enjoyed ayu, wakasagi, tempura, konjac, and more until we were completely full. We were very satisfied! This is a Ryokan we would definitely like to visit again. We’d love to try wakasagi fishing too.

I visited with a friend for our once-a-year, slightly indulgent girls’ trip. The Accommodation seems to be located right in front of a local bus stop, but part of the national highway on the bus route was closed due to a landslide and buses were taking a detour, meaning extra travel time from both Takayama and Matsumoto. So my friend drove from Nagoya instead. We took a short break at the Hirugano Kogen Service Area to enjoy the magnificent scenery, and arrived comfortably in just under three hours with no traffic. There were spots with some snow remaining along the sides of the road, but there was no snow on the road itself. Even so, it gets cold in the mornings and evenings, so winter tires are recommended for peace of mind in case of icy conditions. The building is kept impeccably clean and is wrapped in a pleasant quietness and the lovely aroma of charcoal from the irori hearth—while our Room had no odor at all. We were welcomed into a spacious Room with delicious homemade pound cake as part of their hospitality, and as we chatted comfortably, time flew by. The cuisine was truly outstanding—bringing out the full flavor of each ingredient while presenting combinations and plating unlike anything I’d experienced before, far exceeding its reputation and my expectations. As richer foods have started to leave me feeling heavy or unwell the next day over recent years, I especially appreciated how refined every dish was; it felt like food I could happily enjoy even in my 80s without any heaviness. The chef’s and staff’s genuine desire for guests to enjoy themselves came through clearly. Perhaps because of the high altitude, alcohol seemed to hit more quickly—and since I also wanted to bathe—I unfortunately didn’t get around to trying the local craft beer or sake provided in our Room. Still, stepping outside after the sauna into crisp mountain air with grand peaks right before us felt incredible. The private hot Onsen bath attached to our Room—hotter than expected—with jazz at night and birdsong in the morning was pure luxury: an unbelievably relaxing stay beyond what I could imagine. I’d love to return to experience another season’s cuisine as well—I’ve become a true fan. Thank you very much for your wonderful hospitality.

We stayed for one night over the Obon holidays as a family, and everything was excellent. The Facility matched the photos, was very clean, and we had a truly comfortable stay. When we arrived, the tarp and BBQ set were already prepared, so we could start enjoying a barbecue right away—wonderful. There was also a Miele front-opening dishwasher, which made it very convenient for a large group to wash and dry dishes automatically. What we especially liked was that the LDK is on the first floor, and there is also one bedroom on the first floor. Even among luxury villas I researched extensively, it’s rare to find this layout plus a sauna, so I think it’s quite valuable. It also seems very easy to use when traveling with elderly guests or anyone with limited mobility, since it reduces the need to go up and down stairs. The wood deck is designed to be hard to see from the road, and it isn’t fully exposed from neighboring homes either—privacy was well considered. You can see an apartment-like building a few hundred meters away, so you probably wouldn’t want to sunbathe completely nude outside (haha), but it still feels nicely private. The sauna goes up to 90°C maximum, so those who prefer an authentic high-temperature sauna might find it slightly lacking. However, relaxing outdoors after the cold bath on an infinity chair or in a hammock was truly amazing. We had originally extended late check-out by two hours, and when we asked for an additional two-hour extension, they kindly responded quickly since there were no upcoming Reservations. The staff service was excellent as well. We were satisfied with everything—the Facility, layout, comfort level, privacy considerations, and staff support. It made for a wonderful family trip. Right in front of Lake Kussharo—an unbeatable location. Rera is built diagonally in front of Fre, so you may be a bit aware of each other’s presence, and I did wonder what it would feel like if someone walked by while I was in the bath. The view from the second floor is simply stunning. The ingredients for the meals are luxurious and delicious, but unfortunately the wine selection didn’t match our taste (it would have been nice if at least the grape varieties were listed). Despite the overall great sense of style, there were some everyday-looking items like hand soap placed in the washroom, which slightly took away from the atmosphere. There was a faint damp smell on the towels, and the indoor slippers felt too ordinary—disposable ones might actually be better.

Everyone was thrilled by the building and the Facility the moment we arrived. After a while, we looked around at what was in the Room, and once we had settled in, we headed to the open-air bath. The open-air bath building also had a sauna and a water server—absolutely fantastic. If I had to say one thing, it would have been even better if there were chairs where you could sit down for a moment after bathing. We didn’t realize until late afternoon the next day that amenities such as towels must be replenished by the day before, which was hard to understand. It’s also inconvenient that everyone’s address and phone number are required for check-in.

Dinner was very satisfying, featuring unique and delicious creative dishes and other tasty items made with local ingredients such as Oita beef. The bath was also wonderful, with a great view from the open-air bath that felt very relaxing.

The Facility itself feels a bit dated, but the meals were delicious, with many dishes featuring seasonal local ingredients. The Onsen water was also excellent, and the Room had a reliable internet connection. Overall, we were very satisfied.

The dinner was impressively elaborate. It was incredibly delicious, and I believe staying here was worth it just for the meal.

This is my second stay. When I feel tired, I come here to relax, bring what I like, and enjoy doing whatever I want. The bath can be used freely, going in and out as you please, without worrying about others. Each room has a unique charm that excites me. The staff at the front desk are kind and excellent in their service.

Although it is a relatively quiet, rustic Onsen area, the Room and Facility were very clean after the renovation. With only seven rooms, it was very peaceful and relaxing. The meals offered a wide variety of dishes and were very satisfying. There are two private open-air baths and one large public bath for men and women, and we were able to fully enjoy the Onsen thanks to the milky white sulfur spring water.

I stayed with two parakeets. Since the Accommodation is located a little away from the tourist spots, it was quiet and relaxing. Everything we needed was provided, and we didn’t feel inconvenienced at all. Dinner was shabu-shabu, with plenty of vegetables and even udon to finish, which was more than satisfying. With an open-air bath included, we could bathe whenever we liked, and unlike staying at a Hotel, we didn’t feel rushed by schedules and were able to spend a leisurely time together with the birds. Next time, I’d like to book a Multiple Night Stay.

My wife, my parents, and our dog stayed here. Some pet-friendly Hotels have lots of restrictions in the shared areas (like requiring a crate), so this time we chose this entire house rental. The Facility was clean and had a nice atmosphere, and the bath was very large for one person—very satisfying. There aren’t many items left out, so we felt at ease knowing our dog wouldn’t chew on anything. We didn’t include meals, but we ate out near Yubatake for dinner. For breakfast, we had bought various local foods at roadside stations during our trip, and we enjoyed them together as a family. There were hardly any people around the building, and it was wonderfully quiet—just the sound of insects—so we could relax. I also thought it would be a great place to bring friends visiting from overseas. Also, when we went to pick up the key, the foreign staff member was very kind and helpful. Thank you very much.

I chose this Accommodation based only on the cost and Reviews, but the Onsen and meals were excellent.

Stayed here after a golf day to visit Toshogu Shrine the next day. The building itself is old, but it has all the essentials. Dinner was abundant with a variety of dishes, so much that I couldn't finish it all. Everything was incredibly delicious. The best part is its proximity to Toshogu Shrine, which is the biggest highlight. Additionally, the staff and what seemed to be the hostess were very friendly, making for an enjoyable stay. If I have another chance to visit, I would love to stay here again. Thank you!

I have been longing for the autumn leaves of Lake Chuzenji (Chūzenji) for 10 years. Moreover, that time is my birthday! But it's so hard to get a reservation. This time, when I happened to check, it was available!? Surely there was a last-minute cancellation. I hurriedly made a reservation. All the staff at the property were smiling and cheerful, with excellent hospitality. The futon was so fluffy, I couldn't help but dive in! The bath was amazing, and the food was excellent. I was surprised at how delicious the Nikko pork was. I thought Tokyo X was supreme, but this was great too! As soon as I got home, I made a soy milk hot pot with Tokyo X. It was so delicious! The recommended sake was also very tasty, and even my wife, who doesn't usually drink sake, gulped it down. Breakfast refills were free, and I ended up having three bowls. I woke up early to take a bath, photographed the full bloom of autumn leaves while basking in the morning sun, and took another bath until just before checkout... I think I went in about five times in total? The water was truly wonderful, and I could stay in it forever. It seems to have become very popular after being featured on TV. I was really happy to be able to stay. Thank you very much.

This time, I stayed with a friend. Due to the earthquake, there were fewer tourists, so the Onsen town felt a bit quiet, but the Accommodation had a warm, homey atmosphere and the staff were kind, making it very comfortable to stay. The meal was my first irori kaiseki dinner; it was delicious and very filling. However, during our Onsen-hopping, several places were closed, which was the only disappointment.

It was a quiet, standalone Accommodation. All the staff were pleasant, and the food was very delicious. I also liked that they used Okura China coffee cups (perhaps because there is an Okura outlet in Karuizawa). The Room consisted of two rooms—a bedroom and a Japanese-style room—unified in beige tones, giving a neat and clean impression. There were two open-air baths, which seemed like they may have originally been private open-air baths for guest rooms. They were hinoki-wood baths with plenty of hot water. However, it seemed I was the first to use them that day, so the water was extremely hot and I couldn’t soak for long. The large public bath was also free-flowing from the source and had a more comfortable temperature than the open-air baths. Dinner was Western-style. Everything was delicious, including the seaweed salad, assorted terrines, grilled char (meunière), and roast beef. Breakfast was Japanese-style. Overall it’s a good Hotel, but perhaps due to the location there were many stink bugs. There were about 10 dead ones on the window frame in my Room, and I felt they probably weren’t from that day. Also, I noticed some staining on the washbasin. If these two points are improved, I think it would be an even better Hotel. Overall, it’s a Hotel I would like to visit again.
