This was my third stay. I visited twice before in May, and this time I came for the first time in autumn. Last time I was deeply moved, thinking, “What an incredible Accommodation,” and on this visit that feeling only grew stronger. A sense of unhurried calm and quiet fills the entire property. The Japanese paintings and seasonal tea flowers displayed along the corridors are beautiful, and tasteful touches can be felt everywhere. The Room is spacious and impeccably clean, and even the furnishings reflect the owner’s refined aesthetic and excellent taste. I was especially captivated by the small sewing kit, letter box, and other thoughtfully placed items—each one quietly charming. Rather than emphasizing luxury outright, I believe this Accommodation’s greatest appeal lies in how much care is devoted to every detail. I originally found this place while looking for an Accommodation where I could truly enjoy the cuisine, but even among similarly priced culinary Ryokan featured on IKYU.com, the food here feels a level—or two—above. Not only are the dishes crafted around seasonal ingredients; everything is outstanding: the choice of tableware, presentation, and even the dashi in each soup bowl. There is no end to what I could write—every single dish moved me. The staff member who introduced each course (perhaps the young proprietress) was also wonderful. It wasn’t just an explanation of what we were eating; it naturally stirred our imagination, anticipation, and appetite even before we began. This too felt like hospitality unique to Toryukan. This time as well, I traveled with my elderly parents. Each trip with them carries a quiet thought that it may be our last together someday, so we cherish every moment we can share. We were truly grateful for how warmly all of your staff treated us—it remains deeply in my heart. Thanks to you all, we once again spent a wonderful time together as a family and created unforgettable memories. I feel Toryukan is not simply an Accommodation where you stay overnight to rest—it is a place that lets you savor time itself as it flows there. Beautiful surroundings, exceptional cuisine, a quiet and comfortable atmosphere, warm hospitality. We would love to return again to enjoy each season’s beauty—and its cuisine. Thank you for taking such great care of us the other day. The Room and meals were excellent in every way. We were especially impressed by the all-crab feast. We were very satisfied with the many delicious dishes, including medium-fatty tuna (chutoro). We look forward to visiting again with our family to enjoy another Premium tour.

Our first trip to Shimane and Tottori as a couple. It was also our first time at Misasa Onsen. And our first stay at Ryokan Ohashi. Throughout our stay, we were able to relax at a leisurely pace, and it has become an Accommodation we definitely want to visit again. The service was flawless, and since there happened to be few guests staying that day, we felt lucky to have the chance to chat and learn more about the place. The meals were also impeccable—abalone, Wagyu beef, a wide variety of dishes, and above all, you could really feel their commitment to quality ingredients. That alone would have been more than enough, but the Onsen was on another level: the rock baths (Upper Bath, Middle Bath, Lower Bath), the open-air bath on the opposite side—this radium spring truly warms you through and through and feels effective for therapeutic bathing as well. We were told that crab dishes in the colder season paired with this radium spring are even more highly recommended, so we’re already looking forward to it.

From the warm welcome to the meals and the open-air bath in the guest room, every aspect of the service was fully satisfying. Perhaps because it was raining, there were fewer insects as well.

It’s been eight years since our last stay, and this was our first visit back in a while. We returned because it’s one of our favorites, but here are a few things we noticed for next time: - We would like one more face towel at the washbasin in the Room, since two of us are staying. - Toiletries such as lotion are provided, but my wife said she would like emulsion/moisturizer as well. - A few dishes tasted quite salty to us—such as the breakfast soup, grilled salmon, and pickles. We had heard that Nagano Prefecture has been reducing salt recently. Despite these comments, this remains our favorite Accommodation thanks to the excellent hospitality of the staff. Thank you for taking care of us. We will visit again.

We stayed here for our summer vacation, using two Rooms for my daughter’s family (four people), us, and three dogs. Our grandchildren were delighted with the spacious Room, the Onsen, and the delicious meals. Since our two-year-old grandchild can’t eat adult meals yet, the staff kindly served food that seemed suitable, which we really appreciated. We would love to stay again when sightseeing in Nikko.

Herbal medicinal teas before and after meals are also a nice touch. At dinner, you can drink as much as you like of your preferred beverages, including alcohol, and every dish was truly delicious. Although we stayed on a weekday, they kindly served us the weekend-only sashimi as well, which we enjoyed with fresh wasabi! The baths were crowded, so we couldn’t relax as much as we’d hoped, but overall we were satisfied. However, it was disappointing that the futon in the Japanese-style room was quite thin.

It was a clean Hotel. It’s about a 15-minute walk from Sapporo Station, so either taking a taxi or walking is fine. The large public bath was spacious, and the sauna was also large. Breakfast was delicious.

The Onsen inside the property was wonderful, and the private open-air bath in the detached annex was outstanding in both its Facility and the view. The open-air bath in particular was incredibly soothing, set in a location shaped by nature. We had both dinner and breakfast, and if only I’d had a bit more room in my stomach…I would have loved to enjoy even more. My one regret is that there were dishes I passed on. Everything we did have was excellent. I really appreciated being told when the tempura at dinner was freshly fried—it was absolutely delicious. Thank you as well for making my “everything included” omelet at breakfast come true. I didn’t know there would be a doctor fish experience, but it was so much fun it made me let out a weird sound.

This was our last trip of the year. We were fully satisfied with this Ryokan in every way—the cuisine, the Onsen, and the kind hospitality of the staff. There was only one small issue, but it was addressed promptly. We would like to continue coming here in the future.

To all the staff at Karuizawa Club Hotel 1130, thank you as always for your kind support. My family has stayed here many times over the past few years, and this time we were finally able to make a Reservation for the Premium Family Suite Room we had long hoped for, so we stayed yesterday. As its name suggests, it was the highest-grade Room among the many Rooms at Karuizawa Hotel 1130. There was an open-air jacuzzi bath on the balcony, and two indoor baths inside as well. There were also two restrooms, and four separate rooms in total—one of them a bedroom with a skylight that lets you gaze up at the sky. Because every space was so luxurious, my whole family was thrilled the moment we stepped into each room. We had reserved Japanese kaiseki at Yamaboshi well in advance, but it was changed to a buffet Plan. Just like in Hewitt Resort’s TV commercial, the buffet venue was beautiful and the selection was extensive. From the live kitchen at dinner to freshly made rice balls at breakfast, everything exceeded our expectations. The staff were all courteous and kind, which helped us greatly. We also visited the open-air bath at Onioshi Onsen; it had been renovated and made it easier to access directly from the indoor bath area. We will be staying one more night later this month as well, and we are looking forward to enjoying the same Premium Family Suite Room again. Each time we stay, this wonderful Hotel continues to evolve even further—and it has become our family’s favorite. I hope other guests can experience that same sense of excitement too. Although it wasn’t a Milky Day, the hot spring water was pleasantly cloudy, making for a wonderful bath. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, and we were very satisfied. The steak at dinner was especially high quality and excellent value for money. The vegetables were also very fresh—I ended up eating more than I intended. Thank you very much.

Although we stayed for only one night, both the large public bath and the open-air bath in our Room were excellent. In particular, the open-air bath at the large public bath was very relaxing. What impressed us most about the bath in our Room was that Onsen water was continuously added little by little, keeping it at a comfortable temperature at all times.

I made a Reservation because I was drawn to the title of this Accommodation, and it was absolutely the right choice! This is a simple, historic Accommodation, yet it feels spotless throughout. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm smiles from the staff, and we were very satisfied with the quality of the Onsen water. The “Taste of Local Bounty” dining menu was especially memorable—above all, being able to bite into a whole river fish from head to tail was an experience you won’t find elsewhere.

It was my first visit in a while. I used to go once a year, so I’m practically a regular. The Hotel staff even remembered me and were considerate about my allergies and foods I don’t like. I always stay in the Spa Living room, and the hot stone sauna had been replaced with a sauna, which was also great. The service is truly excellent—everyone is wonderful. They are polite, but also make your stay enjoyable. I definitely want to come again next year.

I enjoyed soaking in Zao Onsen’s strongly acidic, milky-white water with a distinct sulfur scent—this is what an Onsen should be like. Since it’s an old building, there are countless flaws if you start pointing them out, so I stayed while telling myself that’s just how it is. The staff work hard, but not at a level that truly impresses. The meals featured many local specialties and were good, but the rice—the most important part—was too firm at dinner and far too soft at breakfast. This Accommodation is recommended for those who love Onsen.

My spouse and I stayed here with our parents, booking two separate buildings. After reading Reviews saying things like “the meals aren’t great for the price,” we honestly didn’t expect much—but there were no issues at all. The portions were more than enough (and you can order extra if needed), everything was delicious, and we had nothing to complain about. Of course, the bath was amazing. Unfortunately, we happened to be there during a typhoon and couldn’t see the stars at night, so we will definitely return—next time, I’d love to soak in the bath while looking up at a sky full of stars. One point: there was a mismatch between the breakfast time we thought we had communicated and the time the Accommodation had on record (it was later), which affected our morning departure time and plans afterward. To avoid any misunderstandings about who said what, it would be helpful if you could leave a written note confirming the requested times for dinner and breakfast.

I stayed at Naraya Ryokan before moving overseas in November. I won’t be back for a while, but I’m glad I had the chance to stay at such a wonderful Ryokan. The Room, meals, and Onsen were all excellent.

I always search on IKYU.com with a focus on “accommodations with great food,” so this time as well I came looking forward to the cuisine. But after actually staying here, what stayed with me most was the hot spring water. The website said the Onsen was wonderful, but once I soaked in it, its appeal far exceeded my expectations. The large public bath had a calm atmosphere wrapped in the warmth of wood, and soaking while listening to the murmuring stream was truly luxurious. The private ceramic-style bath also had a wonderful sense of charm and was excellent. Above all, the quality of the spring water is outstanding. It feels light yet leaves your skin smooth and silky, and that pleasant feeling after bathing lingered for a long time. The next day we stayed at another hot spring accommodation, and comparing them during the same trip made me realize again how unforgettable that indescribable comfort felt after leaving Manyotei’s baths. This is exactly what makes a secluded hot spring so special. The meals were just as I had hoped—each dish made delicious use of local ingredients. In particular, the fresh soba served at the end was thin yet pleasantly firm; as a soba lover, it was exactly to my taste. Breakfast also showed care and creativity in every item. This trip was also with my elderly parents. My father’s legs have grown weaker and he hasn’t been going to large public baths lately, but this time he unusually said he wanted to go. I accompanied him to the Onsen while feeling a bit worried; I couldn’t relax while waiting. But he seemed to really like this water, and both of my parents were able to fully enjoy the hot springs. When traveling with elderly parents, each visit feels like a once-in-a-lifetime encounter—thinking it may be our last. That is why I am truly grateful that we could soak in such wonderful waters, enjoy delicious food, and spend such peaceful time—it remains deeply in my heart. I’m sure it added years to my parents’ lives. Thank you for an exceptional Onsen experience, wonderful meals, and such soothing time. When we visit Fukushima’s nature again, I would love to come back specifically for these waters.

Whenever we visit Hokuriku, we always stay at “Notoya.” We always look forward to the warm hospitality from the staff and the delicious meals. This time, we stayed in a Japanese-style Room with a semi-open-air bath fed directly from the hot spring source, and enjoyed an all-sea-bream menu: a boat platter of sea bream, sea bream shabu-shabu, and sea bream ochazuke. The dishes were light and gentle on our bodies as seniors, and we were able to finish everything. The bath in the Room was also at just the right temperature, and we fully enjoyed the luxury of soaking morning and night while feeling the cool breeze. “Notoya” never disappoints no matter when we visit—we would definitely like to stay again next time.
