The oceanfront Room and the large public bath were wonderful. I felt refreshed both mentally and physically. It’s about 30 minutes from Hakodate Station by streetcar and on foot, and staying here together with a Hotel convenient for sightseeing in the Bay Area was absolutely the right choice. If you’re staying in Hakodate for 2–3 nights, I highly recommend spending one night here.

This was my first stay, and the Hotel lobby was spacious and wonderful. The Room was also large and comfortable. In the four-person Room, one bed was on the opposite side, and it was disappointing that there were no power outlets only there. The TV supported online streaming services, so it was great to watch what I like. It was easy to understand that the refrigerator power is controlled by a switch. The large public bath had an outdoor bath and four tubs of different sizes. The door to the large public bath also worked with the Room key card, so I felt safe with solid security. There were AEON and Coop Sapporo nearby, and we enjoyed both shopping malls. Due to my vacation schedule, I made separate one-night Reservations for two nights (a Multiple Night Stay), but I’m glad they changed it so I could stay in the same Room for both nights.

After the Obon holidays, we stayed for a Multiple Night Stay of two nights starting on August 17. We found this Hotel at the last minute the day before and were really lucky to get a Reservation. We didn’t have high expectations, but both the Shirakaba Lake area and this Hotel were very lively with many guests. We had heard it was an older building, but it didn’t feel that way much. It was well maintained, our Room had no unpleasant odors, and the toilet had a washlet, which was great. The large public bath was quite spacious, and there was also an open-air bath (the water was a bit hot). Meals were buffet-style for both breakfast and dinner, so we could choose what we liked. Guests who enjoy alcohol were happy with the 90-minute all-you-can-drink option. The dining hall could accommodate many people and had a warm atmosphere. For summer vacation season, the price for two nights was reasonable and we were very satisfied and able to relax. We would like to stay again.

We stayed on August 1–2, 2026! The Room (depending on the Plan, I assume) felt like it could have been a bit deeper and wider, but it matched the photos online. This was our first stay at Taoya as a family of four, including a second-year university student and a second-year high school student. We loved the all-inclusive free drinks (including alcohol) throughout our stay, plus the welcome dessert (the mini Mont Blanc was freshly piped on the spot). At dinner buffet, there were shake salads, freshly grilled and carved steak, and each table had a small burner for mini hot pots. There were also pasta and pizza, and even late-night snacks included in the Plan—everything was excellent in both taste and portion size. Breakfast was also buffet-style with build-your-own rice bowls, grilled fish using the tabletop burner, and freshly baked mini apple pies brought around to each table (they’re seriously piping hot, so be careful when eating). Our whole family was very satisfied. At dinner one night while we were taking a selfie with an outstretched arm, a staff member kindly offered to take our photo—an extra touch that made us even happier. The location was great too: easy access to Momiji-dani Suspension Bridge and the Nasu Highlands area, and Nikko is just over an hour away by expressway. Since it’s in the mountains we were worried about insects, but they didn’t bother us at all—we didn’t even encounter any during an evening walk (to the nearest suspension bridge), at the open-air bath on the 4th floor, or in our Room. The only insect we really noticed was dragonflies flying around the courtyard; little kids seemed to enjoy having them land on their fingers. Personally, I especially liked the courtyard bonfire! Thank you very much—we’d love to come again if we have another chance. (*Menus and types of insects may vary depending on season and timing.)

We stay here every year during the Obon holiday season. The Room is compact but clean and comes with air conditioning. The toilet is also modern and spotless. There’s an outlet by the pillow, which is very convenient. The café staff on the first floor also handle check-in/check-out and guide you to the parking area. For dinner and breakfast, we used the buffet Plan at Dai-ichi Takimotokan right across the street and were very satisfied. You can also use Dai-ichi Takimotokan’s Onsen freely. It’s very helpful that we can stay at an affordable price.

I stayed in a Room with an open-air bath, and the Room was simply outstanding. The spaciousness, cleanliness, design, and the in-room Onsen were all excellent. Since we didn’t order meals this time, we had limited interaction with the staff, but we didn’t experience any inconvenience. I’d love to visit again.

Conveniently located near Susukino Station with excellent access, and right next to Tanukikoji Shopping Street, which features restaurants, drugstores, and many convenience stores. During my 2-night stay, I enjoyed the Onsen with an open-air bath that helped relax my tired feet and body after walking around. I also requested an in-room massage, and they were very flexible with the schedule and menu options—it was truly rejuvenating. I would love to stay here again!

The Facilities were excellent, and we enjoyed a relaxing dinner in our Room. We were very satisfied with both the price and what was included, making it a wonderful one-night stay. Thank you very much. That said, while the simple style was nice in its own way, we would have appreciated a few thoughtful words from the Accommodation staff at check-in and check-out, or a small service such as offering a cup of coffee after breakfast.

We stayed here for our family trip at the end of summer vacation. It was a special Room—the only one of its kind in the Hotel. It had the space of two Rooms plus a living area, and an exceptionally large bathroom—about the size of another Room—with a spacious bathtub where you can fully stretch out, as well as a separate shower room. The bubble-bath function had been removed, but features such as the marble flooring gave it a very luxurious feel. There were also private stairs, a ramp, and an exclusive corridor leading to this special Room, with outstanding attention to privacy. From the Room, we enjoyed breathtaking views over all of Lake Megami and the surrounding mountains. There were three large TVs, which delighted our children, and we could use the air conditioning as well, so we stayed comfortable throughout our visit. The public bath included an open-air bath and even two saunas, and the lockers were clean. From the open-air bath we could look out over Lake Megami and the mountains while relaxing in the Onsen. We enjoyed cooling off in the cold bath, watching clouds drift by, and taking our time to fully appreciate Tateshina Onsen. As it was peak season, both dinner and breakfast were buffet only; while there weren’t many items overall, each dish was truly delicious. The coffee did not seem to be freshly drip-brewed from a machine like those found at some buffets, so having a coffee machine would be nice. Next time we are very much looking forward to trying kaiseki cuisine at the basement-level restaurant as well. As an IKYU.com Diamond member benefit I requested late check-out; unfortunately it wasn’t possible due to peak season demand. Still, this is such a wonderful Hotel that we wanted to stay even longer—the Room was beautiful, spacious, and impressive in every way. Thank you also for the Diamond member gifts (a bottle of wine and souvenirs from Nagano). Since in Parking Lot No. 1 the wheelchair-priority space is shared with EV charging spaces, I think it would be better to separate them so that enough spaces can be secured to meet nighttime EV charging demand while keeping accessible parking available at all times. We arrived at 11:00 and completed check-in procedures first; the front desk staff were excellent. We requested early check-in but it wasn’t possible due to peak season; however when keys became available before 3:00 p.m., they were handed out in order of completion of procedures—so arriving early was worthwhile for us after all. We will be staying in this same Room again in the future as well; thank you in advance from our whole family for your continued hospitality. Thank you very much to all staff members.”

Thank you for so many wonderful moments. Thanks to the smiles and hospitality of all the staff, we were able to spend an unforgettable time during our stay. As a dual-income couple, it’s been hard for us to coordinate time off, but at 54 we finally made our trip to Hokkaido happen. We will definitely visit again. Would spring or autumn be nice as well? It was truly an exceptional experience—wonderful time, atmosphere, and cuisine.

My first time in Aizu-Wakamatsu! This Accommodation was high quality for the price. Unfortunately, it poured with heavy rain, so the stargazing open-air bath was a downpour. I must have made my Reservation too late, and could only book the earliest morning slot. This time we chose a package that included this bath, but the private-use fee of 4,400 yen felt a bit expensive. The meals were delicious, mainly featuring local Aizu cuisine. One small disappointment was that the rice I had been looking forward to was mushy and not very tasty. The staff’s hospitality was excellent. Overall, it was a good Accommodation.

This time we stayed in the VIP Room and enjoyed the premium kaiseki dinner course. The Room was very spacious, the garden was beautifully maintained, and the private open-air bath attached to the Room was excellent. All of the staff who assisted us were very kind, and every dinner dish was carefully prepared and truly delicious. Breakfast seemed to be the same for all courses, but since we can’t eat much in the morning, we personally appreciated that it was on the lighter side. We also visited the large public bath, but we noticed towels left at washing stations that were not being used and some guests reserving spots. We think it would be even better if there were guidance on how to use the facilities in languages other than Japanese. Access was convenient—about a 7-minute walk to the streetcar stop. By taxi or car, you can reach major sightseeing spots in about 15 minutes, so if you don’t have a car, using both the streetcar and taxis makes it easy to get around. It was a 5-minute drive from the airport, so being able to leave our luggage before/after our stay was very convenient. If we have another opportunity, we would love to stay again for about two nights in a VIP Room with the premium dining course. Thank you very much.

I stayed here for the first time in 30 years. The building is old, but it was well cleaned and felt very clean overall. I spoke with a staff member who said they have been working here for about 15 years—keep up the good work. The friendly greetings at the buffet venue were also very welcoming. Last time it was just my spouse and me, but this time we came with our two children. We watched the fireworks from the lakeshore, and the kids were truly impressed. I’d like to stay again if I have the chance.

This Hotel is located on the way to Hachiman Castle. It’s about a 15-minute uphill walk from the Hotel to Hachiman Castle. Since it was Silver Week, we couldn’t find a taxi, and without a car we would have had to walk uphill for about 30 minutes, so we were ready to give up on visiting the castle—but the Hotel’s location and Shuttle Service saved us. The food was delicious, and the staff were very attentive. It was also nice that juice, tea, coffee, and more were free from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The Room was spacious and comfortable. It was great that we could go to the dining area in yukata and slippers. It can’t be helped due to the terrain, but I wished there had been an Onsen. A quiet Hotel where you can relax at your own pace. Thank you very much.

Just as the Accommodation’s name suggests, my mind felt cleansed. The open-air bath was breathtaking with nature right in front of me, along with birdsong and the sound of the wind—it was wonderful.

Sorry for the late review, but we had such a wonderful stay that I wanted to share it. The staff were incredibly kind, and that alone made us feel we chose the right Hotel. In particular, during meals (the buffet), the staff greeted us with warm smiles and made dining truly pleasant. Of course, the food was delicious as well. The shop staff were also very welcoming. Even though it was close to closing time, we never felt rushed, and I enjoyed shopping in a relaxed way while chatting with them. As for the Facility, there was a drink bar just outside the bath area, and it was great to be able to sample small amounts of various alcoholic drinks such as beer and shochu. Our family of five stayed here, and every one of us was satisfied. Thank you very much.

This was my fifth stay, and I visited for three consecutive months. I love the beautiful presentation, delicious food, and the open-air bath. The Room is spacious and wonderful as well. The owner is very kind, making this an Accommodation I definitely want to return to.

I’ve stayed here several times, but this was my first time at Kobushi. ○ There is a gap at the bottom of the Room door, so outside noise carries in easily. ○ Because there is no door to the dining area, food smells spread throughout the entire floor. Also, dinner time is set at 90 minutes, and the next dishes come slowly. When dining with a child (one-plate meal), they finished early and it was difficult. These two points were drawbacks. Everything else was perfect. You can enjoy yourself from morning until late afternoon the next day! You can play a lot and relax, and everyone from children to adults will be satisfied. No matter how many times we come, my child says they want to stay again. Regarding meals, I’d appreciate it if the serving pace could be faster for guests with children—once they finish eating, they have nothing to do.

In its calm setting, this Accommodation had the quiet charm of Shimosuwa and gently helped me unwind from the fatigue of travel. The bath was “Wata no Yu.” The water felt soft and soothing on the skin, warming me through to the core. There is also a private open-air bath, and it was wonderfully relaxing to soak in silence without worrying about anyone around. Breakfast was unhurried as well, and I could enjoy it slowly in a peaceful atmosphere. Combined with Shimosuwa’s crisp morning air, it felt like a time that refreshed even my mind. It’s also conveniently located for visiting Suwa Taisha Shrine and exploring Shimosuwa on foot—an Accommodation I’d love to return to.
