This was our second stay. Since our third son (our beloved dog) joined our family five years ago, we only choose Accommodations where we can stay together, so we’ve stayed at many pet-friendly places around the Kanto area. With new Accommodations opening all the time, there are only a few we’ve ever revisited—but this one is exceptionally satisfying, so we returned during the Obon holiday period. With pet-friendly Accommodations, there’s often something you have to compromise on, but this place is almost perfect. The balcony of our guest Room had an open-air Onsen bath, a sauna, a cold plunge bath, and a relaxation area with a shower—plus an open-air bath for dogs. Inside the Room, there was a theater room with two massage chairs and a dining room where you can enjoy meals in your Room. The French cuisine served there is truly delicious. Recently, more and more Accommodations have excellent Facilities, but I don’t know any other place where you can enjoy food of this quality in your Room with your dog. Once again, everything was absolutely delicious. If you’re looking for the best Accommodation to stay with your dog, I highly recommend giving this place a try.

This is a first-class Hotel. The staff are all exceptionally attentive. In the Room, you can relax at your leisure while enjoying ocean views. We chose the Japanese meal option, and as expected, an elaborate spread that’s more than you can finish is served—so skip snacks and arrive hungry.

I decided to stay because the Reviews were so positive, but honestly I wasn’t expecting that much. However, the Onsen, meals, and service were truly outstanding. The ceramic bath and private baths could be used as many times as we liked with no additional charge, and the staff made us feel comfortable leaving everything to them. I highly recommend the ceramic bath. The large public bath also had a great view and an open, relaxing atmosphere, and the sauna was spacious as well. Of course, the in-room bath was also excellent—we could adjust the temperature perfectly. Above all, every meal was exceptional! Both the French cuisine and Japanese cuisine may have been the best I’ve ever had. It was a moving experience that delighted all five senses. The service—and conversations—with everyone from each chef to all staff members were truly wonderful. I would definitely love to return again. Thank you very much.

It was wonderful. The Room was spacious, and the in-room Onsen was excellent—I enjoyed it many times. The private bath had no time limit, and I could use it anytime as long as it was available, which made me very satisfied. The staff greeted me with smiles. I didn’t expect the meals to be this delicious. Both dinner and breakfast were extremely satisfying. I relaxed in the Onsen and was able to sleep well through the night.

This is the most satisfying Ryokan I have ever stayed at. The hospitality was beyond anything I could have imagined. The owner, the proprietress, and all the staff were wonderful people, and their warmth truly touched my heart. The meals, centered on seafood, featured outstanding ingredients and careful preparation—I was completely satisfied. What deserves special mention is the owner’s 100% buckwheat handmade soba: its aroma and smoothness were exceptional. I live in a prefecture known as a soba mecca, but I have never had soba better than this. Even the breakfast vegetables were all pesticide-free and homegrown, made with real care. The Onsen water was a reddish cloudy spring that felt gentle on the skin and relieved my fatigue. The building has a dignified presence with a sense of history. In every way it was outstanding—an Accommodation that makes you want to return again soon.

It’s a 1 hour 45 minute trip from the station, and since you can’t miss the one bus, getting there is a bit nerve-racking.\nBut the hot springs are excellent, the food is excellent—everything is top-notch!\nThere are five private baths where you can enjoy free-flowing alkaline simple sulfur Onsen that feels like a beauty serum.\nAnd the cuisine is incredible. Using Shizuoka-certified ingredients, the pairings and cooking methods are creatively arranged, with great care taken so you can enjoy the presentation and textures as well.\nThere are also several carefully selected types of sake to match the dishes—fine dining and Onsen indulgence in the middle of the mountains!\nThank you very much.

On my first trip to Kusatsu Onsen, I stayed for two nights in the private open-air bath guest room “TAKASAGO.” Guest Room (TAKASAGO) The layout is wonderfully spacious, with the bedroom and tatami-style living area separated, creating a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Personally, I felt the room was a little dim due to limited natural light depending on its orientation, and I would have loved a larger sofa where you can really sink in rather than a low table—but overall it was an expansive, truly luxurious space. The tatami room with the low table faces a private garden and had a lovely sense of traditional charm. The maisonette-type rooms looked brighter and seemed to have more comfortable sofas as well, so I’d like to try one next time. Onsen Two different hot spring sources—Jizo Gensen and Bandai Kosen Gensen—are supplied here, making for an indulgent bathing experience. In addition to enjoying high-quality spring water anytime in the in-room open-air bath, the three private reservable baths each had their own distinct character and conveyed refined Japanese aesthetics. I thoroughly enjoyed soaking in Onsen throughout my stay. In particular, I loved “AWASE,” where three tubs are lined up from low to high temperature so you can experience a traditional bathing method—I went back again and again. Breakfast As dinner service was suspended during my stay, breakfast was the only meal offered—but its quality was outstanding, easily on par with dinner. I often stay at cuisine-focused Ryokan, and this was among the best I’ve experienced: creative composition of dishes, cooking that brought out the best of each ingredient, and thoughtful selection of tableware that elevated every course. Hospitality & Service The staff’s attentiveness and perfectly balanced approach—present when needed but never intrusive—left a strong impression and made my stay very comfortable. While there are a couple of minor preferences regarding the guest room setup, overall I was extremely satisfied with every aspect: Onsen, food quality (breakfast), and hospitality. I would absolutely love to return when visiting Kusatsu again.

I stayed here on a solo trip. Because it is small, everything is well cared for, making it a very pleasant Accommodation. From the aroma scents to the polished furnishings, attention to detail can be felt throughout, and the whole Accommodation has a warm wooden feel. The corner Room by the clear stream also had a raised terrace area where I could relax. Since there are only a few Rooms, I was able to enjoy the bath without overlapping with other guests and soak at ease. Thank you very much—I would love to stop by again.

We stayed for one night. The Onsen was wonderful and very relaxing. The meals were delicious, and we really enjoyed chatting with the staff member who took care of us, which made the meal even more enjoyable. After returning home, we heard about the major earthquake in Kumamoto and are very concerned. We are also survivors of the Kobe earthquake 30 years ago, and we still remember how difficult it is without lifelines and how frightening aftershocks can be. It was my first time back in Yufuin in about 40 years. It has now become a famous Onsen destination visited by many people, and since this Accommodation is located in an area popular with tourists, I was a little worried it might be noisy. However, once I stepped inside, a calm space opened up that made me forget the bustle outside. This time we stayed in a Room with an open-air bath. Perhaps because the building is relatively new, everything—including the shower room—was kept very clean and well maintained, and we were able to relax comfortably throughout our stay. The meals were also very carefully prepared, with an ideal portion size and excellent quality that even we, as an elderly couple, could fully enjoy. The staff kindly helped us choose drinks as well, and we enjoyed their recommended delicious sake. The location is outstanding too—right across from Snoopy Town and just a short walk to Lake Kinrin. We were fortunate to find such a wonderful Accommodation on our long-awaited return to Yufuin. It has become one of our favorite places to stay, and we would love to return again when we visit Yufuin. Thank you very much.

The private family bath was spacious and even had a waterfall feature, with the water at just the right temperature, so we could soak and relax. The atmosphere of the large public bath was also wonderful. The meals featured local ingredients, the portions were just right, and we were very satisfied! If you have mobility issues, going up and down to the first floor may be difficult, but it was a quiet place to spend time. We’d love to visit again after a hike in the mountains.
