This was my third stay. I visited twice before in May, and this time I came for the first time in autumn. Last time I was deeply moved, thinking, “What an incredible Accommodation,” and on this visit that feeling only grew stronger. A sense of unhurried calm and quiet fills the entire property. The Japanese paintings and seasonal tea flowers displayed along the corridors are beautiful, and tasteful touches can be felt everywhere. The Room is spacious and impeccably clean, and even the furnishings reflect the owner’s refined aesthetic and excellent taste. I was especially captivated by the small sewing kit, letter box, and other thoughtfully placed items—each one quietly charming. Rather than emphasizing luxury outright, I believe this Accommodation’s greatest appeal lies in how much care is devoted to every detail. I originally found this place while looking for an Accommodation where I could truly enjoy the cuisine, but even among similarly priced culinary Ryokan featured on IKYU.com, the food here feels a level—or two—above. Not only are the dishes crafted around seasonal ingredients; everything is outstanding: the choice of tableware, presentation, and even the dashi in each soup bowl. There is no end to what I could write—every single dish moved me. The staff member who introduced each course (perhaps the young proprietress) was also wonderful. It wasn’t just an explanation of what we were eating; it naturally stirred our imagination, anticipation, and appetite even before we began. This too felt like hospitality unique to Toryukan. This time as well, I traveled with my elderly parents. Each trip with them carries a quiet thought that it may be our last together someday, so we cherish every moment we can share. We were truly grateful for how warmly all of your staff treated us—it remains deeply in my heart. Thanks to you all, we once again spent a wonderful time together as a family and created unforgettable memories. I feel Toryukan is not simply an Accommodation where you stay overnight to rest—it is a place that lets you savor time itself as it flows there. Beautiful surroundings, exceptional cuisine, a quiet and comfortable atmosphere, warm hospitality. We would love to return again to enjoy each season’s beauty—and its cuisine. Our first trip to Shimane and Tottori as a couple. It was also our first time at Misasa Onsen. And our first stay at Ryokan Ohashi. Throughout our stay, we were able to relax at a leisurely pace, and it has become an Accommodation we definitely want to visit again. The service was flawless, and since there happened to be few guests staying that day, we felt lucky to have the chance to chat and learn more about the place. The meals were also impeccable—abalone, Wagyu beef, a wide variety of dishes, and above all, you could really feel their commitment to quality ingredients. That alone would have been more than enough, but the Onsen was on another level: the rock baths (Upper Bath, Middle Bath, Lower Bath), the open-air bath on the opposite side—this radium spring truly warms you through and through and feels effective for therapeutic bathing as well. We were told that crab dishes in the colder season paired with this radium spring are even more highly recommended, so we’re already looking forward to it.

The location was great, and the breakfast was especially delicious. There were many vegetable-based dishes and a wide variety of fruit, which made my daughter very happy. The staff were kind, and everyone greeted us with a warm smile, making our stay very pleasant. We would love to visit again.

Shizukatei True to its name, this Accommodation was wonderfully quiet and relaxing, far removed from any hustle and bustle, and surrounded by peaceful rural scenery. The road to the Accommodation was a narrow farm lane where passing other cars required care, but clear signs were placed at key points, and as we got closer, banners guided us along the route. Soba-an I had high expectations for the 80/20 soba served at dinner, but it easily surpassed them—it was exceptionally delicious. In addition, many dishes were prepared using plenty of seasonal vegetables, carefully cooked and beautifully presented. We enjoyed a wide variety of flavors and textures, as well as the visual appeal. Breakfast was also an excellent Japanese set meal with plenty of vegetables and a generous number of dishes. Oshu Hiraizumi Onsen The free-flowing natural Onsen water was a little hot, but we thoroughly enjoyed it together with the open-air bath. Finally, what impressed me most during this stay was the staff. From check-in to being shown to our Room; since dinner was served in-room, their smooth service and efficient delivery; after the meal, clearing everything away and then laying out the futons with equally outstanding efficiency; checkout was completed without any waiting time, and they even came outside to see us off afterward. This was our first visit during Golden Week as part of a family trip service day, and my family was truly happy and satisfied. We were deeply impressed by the professionalism of everyone involved.

It’s a quiet, old-fashioned Onsen town, but the Onsen is simply outstanding! The water quality is irresistible for Onsen lovers. The building is clean, and the service is courteous. There’s not much around due to the location, but it’s one of those Hotels you’ll want to visit again.

I’ve stayed here many times, and this was the first time I was impressed that breakfast seating was open. Also, since it’s bonito season, they served a generous portion of delicious bonito sashimi in the morning! This is an area where even the grilled salmon is unbelievably good, so breakfast was already high quality—and then they added sashimi too. I was very satisfied! The Room and Facility are a bit old, but if that doesn’t bother you, I think it’s a great Accommodation. It’s also close to a convenience store.

This is my favorite Hotel, and I always stay here whenever I visit Aomori. The bath has a large tub where I can relax and warm up, which helps relieve my fatigue. This time the rates were set a bit higher due to overlapping with the National Sports Festival, but I’m glad I was able to stay. The tuna sashimi at breakfast was very delicious and made this trip truly satisfying.

We stayed with six people, including infants. The Hotel features a spacious, open lobby, and the Room was also clean. Best of all, being able to enjoy the Onsen in the Room was amazing. The water felt silky and slightly slippery, leaving our skin soft and supple. All of the meals were delicious, especially the vegetables and curry. The staff were very kind to our young children, making it an easy and comfortable stay. We would love to visit again.

It was heartwarming to see the Vietnamese ladies working so hard—at the front desk and serving in the dining room. The tatami under the bed gave a cozy, home-like feel and was very relaxing. The baths were great on both days. The sashimi selection was a little modest, but the octopus rice hitsumabushi was delicious. Thank you for the complimentary morning coffee. I wasn’t used to the formula-style safety box lock, so it took me a moment to figure it out.

Ito Kowakien is a place I was taken to as a child. I visited again for the first time in 30 years, this time with my wife, and every staff member we encountered was wonderful—their smiles, their words, and their service. After returning home, it made me want to be kinder to others. Thank you for continuing to be here just as you always have. I hope to visit again on another special occasion.

We stayed here as a family to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday. The excellent Reviews and the spacious Room were what convinced us to book. For my husband’s celebration, you provided such warm hospitality that he was delighted, and our whole family was truly moved. The property was very clean, all the staff were pleasant (especially at dinner), and we were able to enjoy local dishes—everything was delicious and we were completely satisfied! The night view was beautiful. We would love to stay with you again on another occasion. Thank you very much for your thoughtful kindness.

Although we stayed for only one night, both the large public bath and the open-air bath in our Room were excellent. In particular, the open-air bath at the large public bath was very relaxing. What impressed us most about the bath in our Room was that Onsen water was continuously added little by little, keeping it at a comfortable temperature at all times.

Six of us (all men) stayed here. We were very satisfied with the Onsen. The staff were also very helpful and pleasant. When we made the Reservation, we worried there might not be enough food, but we were fully satisfied. However, there are no convenience stores nearby, so if you want to drink in your Room, it’s best to buy what you need on the way (there is a refrigerator). Also, since the only smoking area is in one corner by the main entrance, it would have been nice to have one near the emergency exits on each floor as well.

Due to the typhoon, train service to the nearest station, Izukyu-Shimoda Station, was suspended. After we contacted the Accommodation, they came to pick us up at a station where trains were still running. A welcome drink (including alcohol) was also prepared, and we felt relieved when we finally arrived. Above all, the meals were outstanding—we truly enjoyed the seafood. We are grateful for their thoughtful care in every way.

I enjoyed soaking in Zao Onsen’s strongly acidic, milky-white water with a distinct sulfur scent—this is what an Onsen should be like. Since it’s an old building, there are countless flaws if you start pointing them out, so I stayed while telling myself that’s just how it is. The staff work hard, but not at a level that truly impresses. The meals featured many local specialties and were good, but the rice—the most important part—was too firm at dinner and far too soft at breakfast. This Accommodation is recommended for those who love Onsen.

My spouse and I stayed here with our parents, booking two separate buildings. After reading Reviews saying things like “the meals aren’t great for the price,” we honestly didn’t expect much—but there were no issues at all. The portions were more than enough (and you can order extra if needed), everything was delicious, and we had nothing to complain about. Of course, the bath was amazing. Unfortunately, we happened to be there during a typhoon and couldn’t see the stars at night, so we will definitely return—next time, I’d love to soak in the bath while looking up at a sky full of stars. One point: there was a mismatch between the breakfast time we thought we had communicated and the time the Accommodation had on record (it was later), which affected our morning departure time and plans afterward. To avoid any misunderstandings about who said what, it would be helpful if you could leave a written note confirming the requested times for dinner and breakfast.

I stayed at Naraya Ryokan before moving overseas in November. I won’t be back for a while, but I’m glad I had the chance to stay at such a wonderful Ryokan. The Room, meals, and Onsen were all excellent.

Whenever we visit Hokuriku, we always stay at “Notoya.” We always look forward to the warm hospitality from the staff and the delicious meals. This time, we stayed in a Japanese-style Room with a semi-open-air bath fed directly from the hot spring source, and enjoyed an all-sea-bream menu: a boat platter of sea bream, sea bream shabu-shabu, and sea bream ochazuke. The dishes were light and gentle on our bodies as seniors, and we were able to finish everything. The bath in the Room was also at just the right temperature, and we fully enjoyed the luxury of soaking morning and night while feeling the cool breeze. “Notoya” never disappoints no matter when we visit—we would definitely like to stay again next time. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us.

Due to my mistake, I thought I had made a Reservation for a Plan with dinner and breakfast, but it turned out to be without breakfast. At check-in, you confirmed it with me and added breakfast—thank you for noticing. Everyone was cheerful and kind throughout my stay, and I had a comfortable, enjoyable time. I was also happy to buy the Hotel’s original daifuku as souvenirs, and they were well received. The Onsen was wonderful, of course, and the meals were excellent as well. It was my first stay here, but it was reasonably priced and exceeded my expectations. With fewer smoking-friendly Hotels these days, I really appreciate it. I’ll be back again.

I found Sugatani Onsen while looking for an Accommodation where I could stay with my pet, without knowing the name beforehand. It was very comfortable. I brought pet pads, but if possible, I would like you to provide some spares. There is no need to lay out the futon during meals; I worry my dog might bark, so it makes me more concerned. The air conditioner noise felt a little loud. The meals were very delicious. It is a quiet location away from the crowds.
