We stayed with 10 family members across three generations to celebrate my father’s 70th birthday. At check-in, we were given a number ticket and had to wait a bit, perhaps because there weren’t enough staff. However, drinks were free-flowing, and the lobby was lovely, so we didn’t mind waiting. We stayed in the renovated main building. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. There was one mishap—the bathroom door wouldn’t close—but staff came right away and fixed it so it would close (though it still made some noise). We booked a kaiseki dinner plan and went to the dining venue, but we couldn’t find the reception desk and there were no staff around, so we sat at the table number written on paper. Even after waiting for a while, no one came. When we spoke to a trainee staff member, they came to take our drink order. After that, an experienced staff member in charge of our table came over. Since I had noted in our reservation that this was for my father’s 70th birthday celebration, they brought a red celebratory vest (chanchanko). On top of that, they surprised us with an extra celebratory dish “from the kitchen” and even a gift from the hotel—my father was truly delighted. As expected from Hyakumangoku Hotel. We chose this hotel because we stayed here as a family about 25 years ago and remembered it well—my father said he wanted to stay here again. After the renovation made everything even nicer, being able to return together with more grandchildren than before felt very special. It became a wonderful trip to remember. Thank you very much!

We returned to enjoy the lush greenery of Takagamine with an unobstructed view from both the room and the open-air bath on the balcony. Three years ago we stayed with my parents, and this time with my daughter and her husband and our three-year-old grandchild; by chance, we were assigned the same room again, and as before we enjoyed a luxurious, comfortable stay. The sound of the river, birdsong in the morning, Shozan’s peaceful setting, the silky hot spring water, and the cozy room left us feeling refreshed. We had dinner at Wakadori and breakfast at Ortivo, taking our time to relax; there is also a kids’ area, so there is plenty to enjoy within the resort. Several front desk staff assisted us during our stay, and everyone was courteous and helpful.

The building was simply wonderful. We stayed in the detached Room “Gion” with an open-air bath, and it was very spacious with high ceilings; the dark brown beams and pillars gave it a charming atmosphere. There were two semi-double beds, and they were fluffy and very comfortable. The in-room open-air bath was spacious and amazing (the view would likely be especially beautiful in late autumn or when it’s snowy—though getting there might be a bit challenging). Dinner was also very delicious.

This is a small hotel located in the suburbs of Matsuyama, but the Rooms are spacious, and having a private in-room Onsen bath in every Room is a great feature. Dinner seemed to be catered, but it was very delicious. It would be even better if the all-you-can-drink alcohol selection included a few more options, such as draft beer.

We stayed here for a family trip with our dog. Overall, we were very satisfied, except that the steps at the entrance to the dog run were a bit hard to go down because they were like wooden clogs on the terrace. The bath being a free-flowing natural hot spring Onsen was wonderful. We’d love to stay again. Thank you for your hospitality.

Although it was just a one-night, two-day stay, I was able to relax and unwind. The staff’s attentiveness was outstanding. Even though it was very crowded, they never cut corners and worked hard in the heat—I truly appreciate it. In two days, I enjoyed the Onsen at the Hotel New Awaji Group six times. Every Onsen was wonderful, but this one was especially great. I could enjoy different views in the daytime, at night, and early in the morning. It felt fantastical—like an Onsen under the sea. The meals were all about conger eel dishes. I don’t usually eat it much, but I was amazed at how delicious it was. Everything was excellent. Of course, the staff’s thoughtfulness and smiles were also wonderful. I will definitely come again—thank you in advance for your hospitality when I do.

I wanted to invite my mentor, who has supported me for many years, to my absolute favorite Accommodation, and we had a wonderful stay. A Room with a beautiful ocean view through large windows, a spacious open-air bath where you can truly relax, carefully prepared and delicious meals, and the thoughtful hospitality of all the staff—everything was outstanding. They were completely satisfied and deeply impressed, and I am truly grateful that I invited them. No matter when you visit or whom you bring along, this is an Accommodation you can trust without hesitation.

Everyone at the Hotel welcomed us with warm smiles, making our stay very comfortable and relaxing. The large public bath was great, with a shampoo bar and a selection of hair dryers from brands like ReFa and YA-MAN, which was fun to try. Thank you very much.

Since we reserved a detached Room, we were able to check in early and enjoy the open-air bath at the large public bath at our own pace. The Room was spacious and spotless, and above all, the charming open-air bath was outstanding. The meals were not only made with quality ingredients but also thoughtfully prepared with extra care, which we enjoyed to the very end. Every member of the guest room staff was pleasant, chatting with us in a friendly way while keeping a comfortable distance. This is an Accommodation we would love to stay at again.

Although it is a Business Hotel in style, the Onsen was excellent, and the breakfast in particular was more luxurious and delicious than expected. For dinner, we used a voucher provided at the front desk and went to a robatayaki restaurant. With restaurants nearby and enjoyable night views, it was a comfortable Hotel to stay in.

This was a truly wonderful Accommodation. Our family takes trips to Onsen Accommodations that are doable from Tokyo for one night about 2–3 times a year, usually spending around 30,000–40,000 yen per person. My wife chooses the Accommodation each time, but lately none have been memorable or particularly appealing. This time, though, we finally found an Accommodation we genuinely want to visit again. Many of the staff are from Southeast Asia; when I asked, I was told they have passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test N1 and also undergo a one-year training period. We never once had any trouble communicating. I previously lived in Thailand for about five years for work, so I already knew people from Southeast Asia tend to be even more serious and hardworking than many Japanese—but I was still impressed by just how high the standard was here, and we were able to spend a very comfortable time. These days many staff don’t wear name tags (perhaps due to measures against customer harassment), so I don’t know her name, but thank you sincerely to the woman in charge of our Room—she was wonderful and very thoughtful. The all-staff send-off after checkout truly moved me. As for the Onsen: honestly both the water quality and bath area were fairly standard, but everything was very clean. One thing I did notice is that it’s great not having to bring towels into the bath area; however, you still need to bring things like a change of underwear or your phone. In the end we put them in a plastic supermarket bag out of necessity, but I would have liked a larger drawstring pouch (like those often provided at other Onsens) to be available in the Room. Also, my wife said she felt scared because it was dark on the way to the large bath as well as inside it. Lastly, we felt the air conditioner noise was slightly loud—just mentioning it in case. And the meals were outstanding! The balance, portion size, and taste—everything was excellent with nothing to complain about. Because I’m big-built I eat quite a lot and meals at Accommodations often aren’t enough for me; this time I shared small portions of my wife’s meal with our son as well and still felt about 90% full. While breakfast can be disappointing at many places these days, breakfast here was also solid—and it wasn’t that thin crispy dried horse mackerel you often see everywhere else either (which was nice). Above all else: the wasabi was delicious! Being able to get refills freely made it even better. In any case, we definitely want to come again—thank you very much.

We stayed here for a family trip. All of the staff were very welcoming, and we were truly impressed by the complimentary free-flow drinks service. The meals were just the right amount—not too much—and we enjoyed everything to the last bite. The sashimi in particular was outstanding! The Onsen water quality was excellent, and with the clear autumn weather that day, we felt completely refreshed in the open-air bath. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, but the only disappointment was the Wi‑Fi. The signal was extremely weak in the guest rooms, lobby, and all common areas, and it wasn’t usable in practice. Mobile reception was also poor in this location, so the weak Wi‑Fi felt like a serious issue; I regret that I couldn’t get my work done during our stay. Other than that, we were very satisfied with the service, food, and baths, and we hope the Wi‑Fi will be improved. Thank you very much.

We stayed here to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We booked the Anniversary Plan, and in short, it was a truly wonderful stay that made us genuinely glad we chose to spend her special day here. What impressed us first was the outstanding hospitality of the staff. From arrival throughout our stay, everyone treated us with such warmth and care that we felt completely at ease. And above all, the food was exceptional. Both dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious—not just tasty, but beautifully presented in a way that truly felt like “a feast for the eyes as well as the palate.” Each course made us excited for what would come next, and we enjoyed every moment of mealtime. As part of the Anniversary Plan, we also received many thoughtful touches. They prepared a carved watermelon with the character “Kotobuki” (meaning “celebration/long life”), offered an extra dish on the house, and even gave us a commemorative gift. Every gesture made us happy and felt like they were celebrating my wife’s birthday together with us. Our Room had an open-air bath and a terrace, which allowed us to relax as a couple without worrying about anyone around us—something we really appreciated. In addition, as an IKYU Diamond member benefit, champagne and Shine Muscat grapes were prepared in our Room as well. This was another delightful service. Breakfast the next morning was just as impressive as dinner—not only in flavor but also in presentation—leaving us satisfied until the very end. Most importantly, my wife was truly happy during this trip—that meant everything to me. On such a special occasion—a birthday—we were able to enjoy amazing cuisine, warm hospitality, and unhurried time together as a couple. This is an Accommodation that made us sincerely feel: “We’re so glad we chose this place.” Thanks to all of your staff, it became a memorable and wonderful birthday for both of us. Thank you very much. We would love to return again for another important anniversary.

It was raining and I wasn’t sure what to do, so I suddenly decided to stay at the Hotel and made a same-day Reservation. There was a dinosaur event, and our family enjoyed the stamp rally. This time, I was worried about whether my third-grade son could take a bath by himself, but a staff member happened to be in the bath area and kindly spoke to him. He later told me how much fun he had. Thank you very much. The Room was spotless, the food was delicious, and we were very satisfied! I actually wanted to eat more croissants in the morning, but my stomach wouldn’t allow it... We’d love to come again.

This was a wonderful Accommodation that made my first trip to Niigata truly special. While the building and furnishings showed their age, there were programs where we could enjoy local culture, such as shamisen performances and readings about the snow country, and thoughtful amenities like sake lees face packs, Japanese sake, and coffee, making it an Accommodation where we could fully enjoy Yuzawa. All of the staff, as well as the shamisen instructor, were outstanding. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

We stayed in a Room with a private Onsen. We also used the large public bath, and since there are only a few Rooms, we were able to enjoy it privately. I couldn’t tell the difference between the two hot spring sources, but the water was soft and the temperature was just right. In any case, the garden is wonderful. Although Tendo Onsen is located in town, it’s in a calm setting where you can hear cicadas. And the food is outstanding—no typical “just to increase the number of dishes” meals; instead, you can enjoy local and seasonal ingredients prepared with care and served with refined flavors. They also have an excellent selection of Dewazakura sake. I stay at various Accommodations for work, and among those that fit our budget and lifestyle, this is one of the very best. We’d love to stay again.

We were completely satisfied with everything—the room, the private hot spring, and the staff! What impressed us most was the food. The soy sauce kaiseki meal—this was the first time in my life I truly savored soy sauce like this! Every ingredient was delicious. We were more than satisfied. Breakfast was also perfectly seasoned to bring out the natural flavors, and we couldn’t stop eating rice. It’s a long, long trip from Nagoya via Awaji Island, but we’d love to visit again. We had a wonderful stay. Although the building is a bit old, it was clean and comfortable. The large public bath was not crowded, and it was kept very clean with frequent cleaning. It was also great to have a ReFa shower head installed. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent, and the grilled beef at dinner was surprisingly delicious.

Thank you again for a wonderful stay. This was our first drive in our new car and also our first stay at Gora Kadan, but we were met with heavy rain. Even so, thanks to the warm welcome from all the staff, your help with loading and unloading our luggage, and your thoughtful care for my mother-in-law, all of our worries disappeared and we were able to enjoy a comfortable stay. We sincerely appreciate your attentive hospitality. We would love to stay again.

This was our second stay at Izutsuya, and it was a good Ryokan that did not disappoint. At first, it was disappointing that there was no welcome service, and we had to park in the lot in light rain because a car was stopped in front of the Ryokan, but otherwise we were satisfied with the service. The meals offered a wide variety and were very delicious, but for elderly guests the portions are a bit large, so we would be happy if you could offer a smaller-course option at a slightly lower price. The baths on the basement level are excellent, but the rooftop bath is small and not very impressive; we also felt it would have been better to have more explanation about the private baths. Yumura Onsen has also become quite old, and with only the Yumechiyo statue and Arayu, sightseeing feels somewhat lacking, so we would be glad if you could consider adding some new highlight attractions.
