It was my first time in a while staying at this Accommodation. This time, the Room had a free-flowing Onsen bath, and with the large public bath as well, I was able to enjoy many baths—truly an Onsen-filled stay. The meals were delicious, and a woman who had come from overseas for training was very friendly and attentive, which made dining even more pleasant. However, it was raining heavily at check-in, so I felt a little disappointed that no one came out to greet me with an umbrella.

It was a nostalgic stay, yet the atmosphere felt like being in a different country and was very comfortable. My 90-year-old mother also had an easy time, as the large public bath and restaurant were conveniently accessible. The staff member who assisted us was kind, but spoke softly and it seemed my mother couldn’t hear well. We also enjoyed some delicious wine, making it a wonderful stay. Thank you very much.

I stayed at this Hotel for a business trip to Masuda City because it was close to the station. Just as in the photos, the interior was wonderful (both the shared areas and my Room). The large public bath was also clean and very pleasant to use. What I especially liked was the samue loungewear provided in the Room. The fabric felt great on my skin and it was very comfortable to wear (I later bought one online). Breakfast was also delicious. I would like to stay here again.

I made a Reservation because I was drawn to the Accommodation’s title, and it was absolutely the right choice! This is a simple, historic Accommodation, yet it feels spotless throughout. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm smiles from the staff, and we were very satisfied with the quality of the Onsen. The “Taste of Local Bounty” dining menu was especially enjoyable—above all, the experience of biting into a whole river fish from head to tail felt truly unique and unlike anything else.

We chose this Hotel after reading Reviews and checking the price. All of the staff were kind, and the check-in explanation was very easy to understand. The Room was spacious, clean, quiet, and comfortable for a relaxing stay. We were very satisfied because we could enjoy both Taiko no Yu and the Hotel’s Onsen! After getting tired from walking up the hill before arriving at the Hotel, the cold welcome drink was perfect! Our whole family was happy with our stay. Thank you!

Everything was outstanding!! Nothing to complain about!! We will definitely stay again!! On the way home, we were already discussing when to make our next Reservation. The food in particular was truly delicious and wonderful.

Although the sky was unfortunately overcast, it was the perfect season to comfortably soak in the lukewarm natural spring water, and it felt wonderful! The meals are delicious and full of healthy options, and combined with the Onsen benefits, I feel better every time I stay. Perhaps because I kept coming back, my frozen shoulder has completely healed! The summer à la carte fried rock oysters were especially delicious—I’d love to have them again next year! This was my first Saturday stay, and I enjoyed listening to a jazz piano performance. It matched beautifully with the mysterious flicker of the bamboo lights in the garden and was incredibly soothing. There were familiar tunes and summer songs, and in the second half they even took requests, so there was a great variety of music and it was truly enjoyable. Ending with “Cradle Song” was also a stylish touch. I’m looking forward to visiting again in autumn.

This was our seventh stay. We stayed to celebrate a 60th birthday. They prepared a red celebratory vest and a congratulatory plate, which made it a wonderful memory. The meals were also very delicious. We will visit again.

I visited Yuya Onsen. It felt like a traditional Onsen town, largely made up of Hazuki and its affiliated Accommodations where we stayed this time. The Accommodation has a Taisho-era romantic vibe. However, the Room and the facilities are well maintained and very clean. We were welcomed with a medicinal herbal tea as a welcome drink. I’m looking forward to their specialty: medicinal cuisine. Before dinner, we went to the Onsen first. Since you can also enjoy an Onsen tour of their affiliated Accommodations, we visited the neighboring Hazu Annex as well. In terms of water quality, Hazuki felt the best. Both had cloudy water with no taste or smell in common, but at the annex I didn’t notice any viscosity; at Hazuki’s Onsen, you can feel a slight silky thickness. It was also great to have it privately reserved while soaking with a view of the stream right in front of you. The meals were a wonderful combination of various ingredients and traditional herbal medicine. Dinner had no strong quirks and was delicious. Breakfast felt slightly more distinctive compared to dinner. I think I was able to spend some truly restorative time thanks to the Onsen and the food. I’ll visit again.

This was the final Accommodation of my first trip to Niigata, a 3-night, 4-day journey. Our Room was the 2nd-floor Western-style twin [Marronnier]. The bathroom, with a separate toilet, was very convenient and made our mother-and-daughter trip extremely comfortable. The closet was spacious, and there were plenty of hangers. Just before check-in there are shoe lockers, and you can walk around the building barefoot or in socks. From the large floor-to-ceiling windows in the Room and along the corridors, you can enjoy views of wine grapes vineyards and the mountain range stretching from Mt. Yahiko. I visited looking forward to Vinespa’s aroma hot stone sauna, but I was told it is no longer available after renovations—such a shame. Still, the open-air baths placed throughout the garden offered wonderful scenery, and I thoroughly enjoyed soaking both after dinner and before breakfast. Restaurant Cave d’Occi is beyond a European-style garden that is carefully maintained by gardeners. The April menu—beautifully presented and truly delicious—featured local ingredients (hairy crab, celeriac root celery), spear squid), wild boar meat), flounder), roast beef smoked with branches from wine grapes vines), etc.) without feeling overdone). At the winery shop, I had my favorite Zweigeltrebe and unoaked Chardonnay shipped home). The next morning’s Japanese breakfast surprised me—in a great way: zaru tofu with olive oil was delicious!! At checkout time) pizza toast) grape juice) at the library café tasted so good it made leaving hard). It’s an Accommodation that made me genuinely envy those who live nearby).

Although it’s a secluded Accommodation deep in the mountains, it’s relatively easy to access by car and not difficult to reach. The Accommodation features classic, traditional Japanese architecture, yet it feels clean and has been thoughtfully renovated for comfort and ease of use. It was clear how much care goes into its upkeep, which I truly admire. The surrounding nature is lush, and the greenery and gentle sound of the river are very soothing. That said, the bedding mattress felt a bit firm for me personally, which was a small minus point (I didn’t wake up sore the next morning, so this is purely my personal impression). The hot spring source is around 37°C and lukewarm, but there are also heated baths, so it wasn’t an issue. If I had one wish: since I’m not fond of lukewarm water, I would have liked the heated tub to be larger. Meals were mainly simple countryside dishes, but everything was very delicious. Younger guests might find it a little light; in that case, I recommend ordering additional dishes. For us it was just the right amount—and we could get refills of rice—so we were very satisfied. Many of the staff were young, but they were always smiling and pleasant, with excellent attentiveness and consideration. This is an outstanding Accommodation that makes Japanese guests feel at ease—I hope it never changes. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We stayed in a guest room with a private rock bath fed directly from the hot spring source. The water quality was among the best three we’ve ever experienced, and we could enjoy it 24 hours a day—absolutely satisfying! The staff were also very welcoming, and we had a truly enjoyable stay.

This was my first stay here. Above all, the Onsen were outstanding. I was able to enjoy a variety of baths— a clear, colorless iron-rich spring in the Room, a thick mixed sulfur and carbonated spring, and a gentle sulfur spring— and I was completely satisfied. The traditional Japanese meals made with mountain ingredients were also very delicious and easy on the stomach. I’m also grateful for the warm hospitality and smiles from all the staff. The staff are exceptionally professional. Not a single mistake from anyone. I’d love to know how you maintain such a high standard among your team. The milky hot spring bath was also outstanding. The food quality was excellent as well. That said, as someone with a big appetite, I would have liked a bit more in terms of portion size. I understand the menu changes every two months, so I’d love to visit again.

I wanted to support a locally run, family-owned Accommodation, so I chose Irifune this time. The moment I stepped inside from the entrance, I was thrilled! After leaving the large public bath in the morning, I relaxed in the lobby with a cup of coffee. Spending unhurried time in the lobby while enjoying the traditional old house atmosphere was wonderful. The Room, the private bath in the Room, and the meals—everything was outstanding! I also purchased a pair of geta sandals. From now on, every time I wear them, I’ll remember Irifune and enjoy that lingering feeling in my everyday life. If I use them as indoor slippers, I’ll have more chances to wear them, so I plan to use them indoors. To all the staff: when I come back to Kumamoto, Irifune will be my only choice for a Reservation! The moment I entered the building at check-in, the stylish lobby raised my expectations. The Room we were shown was not only chic with a modern Japanese design, but also spacious and relaxing. Some Accommodations look great but have cheap furniture; here, the furnishings felt high-quality and thoughtfully chosen, which made it even more comfortable. The in-room bath was fed directly from the hot spring source, and the washing area was spacious—there was no need to use the large public bath. I ended up bathing four times in one night. Even details like the hair dryer and shampoo amenities showed careful attention. The meals were excellent, especially dinner. Using local ingredients, every dish was creative, original, and delicious. There aren’t many Accommodations that truly make me want to return, but this one did. The staff were also very pleasant.

I had visited before for a day trip, but this was my first overnight stay, fully expecting peak Obon pricing. Since it’s an Onsen Ryokan, I assumed the guest rooms would be Japanese-style, but unlike the shared areas with samurai armor and other traditional touches, my Room was a stylish and relaxing Western-style space. I also appreciated the in-room coffee machine service. Above all, the baths were outstanding. The alkaline water left my skin feeling wonderfully smooth. There were three beautiful private baths, and after 9:00 p.m. they could be used freely without a Reservation. Perhaps because many families with children were staying, it was quiet late at night—so I tried them all. Including the large public bath, every bath was at just the right temperature; no matter how many times I soaked, I never felt overheated or unwell, and I truly enjoyed Onsen to the fullest. There are several Accommodation options in Nakagawa Onsen, but when it comes to bath management—including temperature control and cleanliness—I feel an Onsen Ryokan is still the best. We also enjoyed table tennis, and even after checkout they kindly let us use the large public bath area as a place to change after playing in the river. They were also very flexible and extremely kind regarding Shuttle Service arrangements and other requests. Thank you very much.

We had the pleasure of staying at Yumoto Yukomaso, a member of the Japan Association for Protecting Secluded Hot Springs. The location, Onsen, and meals were all in perfect harmony at a consistently high level, allowing us to fully enjoy everything this Accommodation has to offer. What left the strongest impression was the Onsen overlooking lush spring greenery in a wonderfully rustic setting. Soaking in the water while surrounded by birdsong and the crystal-clear air of Mt. Asahidake was truly exceptional. The cuisine was also outstanding, showcasing the chef’s dedication—deeply flavorful dashi that brought out the best in each ingredient, and beautifully presented dishes plated with great care that conveyed genuine craftsmanship. Our Room was Superior Twin Room 401. We were soothed by birdsong and a refreshing breeze through the window, and thanks to their carefully selected spring water and comfortable mattress—together with the benefits of the Onsen—we felt deeply restored both body and mind. Our walk around Mt. Asahidake is also an unforgettable memory. This has become one of our favorite Accommodations, and we will definitely return.

We stayed here as a couple in August. It was very reasonably priced, yet everything was excellent overall. The meal included wagyu beef grilled on a ceramic plate, and even if it was cooked a bit too long, it was still very tender. The other dishes were also delicious. The portions were generous, and we were completely satisfied with both dinner and breakfast. The staff were friendly, and the building was clean. We’d love to use the bath again. If we have the chance, we would definitely stay again, and we would recommend it to others as well.

As a rare Onsen Accommodation that uses 100% free-flowing natural spring water with no added water or heating, it immediately caught my interest as an Onsen lover, so I decided to stay here. The Onsen was a little hot, but the water was very clear and felt wonderful. The Key Bath and Standing Bath were fascinating along with their history, and the private riverside bath offered a relaxing soak while looking out over the Yoshii River stream—truly a pleasant Onsen experience. The building has a great atmosphere and feels calm and comfortable. The staff were also kind, courteous, and welcoming. I had a genuinely enjoyable stay, but considering the price, there were a few disappointing points. For an Accommodation in this class, I expected complimentary drinks (free flow), but that wasn’t the case—even items in the refrigerator were charged. There is tea in the Room, but no coffee, and there is no coffee service in the lobby either. After dinner there was wine, alcohol, and coffee service at a house across the street where we could relax for a while, but snacks to go with drinks still cost extra. Since this is such a lovely place overall, I only wished these kinds of services were offered just a little more generously.
