From the moment we arrived until we left, the hospitality was truly wonderful and deeply impressed us. The proprietress quickly remembered my daughter’s name and even came to greet us at dinner, and the staff who served our meal had such warm smiles. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food. We were also able to relax and fully enjoy the Onsen. I was happy that we could take a photo with the proprietress when we checked out. We would love to visit again, and we appreciate your continued hospitality.

We planned a three-night trip to Nara. The first two nights were at a Hotel near Nara Station, so for the final night we chose this place a little farther out—especially because it offered the rare experience of staying in a soy sauce brewery. It far exceeded our expectations. Right after arriving, we joined the soy sauce pressing experience and were immediately captivated by the owner’s talk. I was truly impressed by the story of how he revived soy sauce making from scratch after his grandfather had been forced to stop after the war. Dinner dishes made with this deeply meaningful soy sauce highlighted mostly home-grown vegetables and let each ingredient shine—everything was exceptional. Even dessert (I think it was crème brûlée?) used soy sauce, and it was genuinely delicious. The Hatsuse Room was also a comfortable, calming space where we could rest well. Not having a TV was actually great. The wooden bath was wonderful too. Breakfast—rice with raw egg, an egg with a white yolk (?), and fresh fried tofu with soy sauce—was simple but the best kind of feast. The staff kindly answered even my husband’s rather unreasonable (laughing) questions, and I admired their sincere hospitality. Visiting in midsummer was lovely, but next time I’d like to return to this Accommodation in another season.

My parents and I had a very comfortable stay. They said they would like to come again, which made me happy as the one who gave them this trip as a gift. All the staff were very courteous and attentive to every detail. We relaxed with coffee in our Room, warmed up to the core in the free-flowing Onsen, and slept soundly. Every dish was delicious. The acqua pazza, in particular, was the best I have ever had.

We stayed in Room 401 with an open-air bath. The deep, expansive views, delicious food, and Onsen were all wonderful, but above all, we were most impressed by the warmth and kindness of the staff. Even among Accommodations in the same price range, many do not see guests off, so we truly appreciated it. It made us want to come back even more. Thank you very much.

This was an Accommodation I definitely want to return to after my stay. The Room was spotless, and the thoughtful care of the staff could be felt in every detail, allowing me to relax and unwind from my busy daily life. Above all, both dinner and breakfast exceeded my expectations. This is what it truly means to enjoy food—every dish was outstanding, from dessert to the after-meal tea. The drinks were also excellent, and while Ehime often brings Matsuyama to mind, after staying here, for me Ehime now means Uchiko. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for such a wonderful time.

I had a wonderfully relaxing stay at a comfortable pace. It was quiet and spotless throughout, and the Onsen was incredibly open and wonderful. Every meal was deeply delicious. The staff were also very pleasant and welcoming. I feel as if both my body and mind have been refreshed. I can hardly believe how reasonably priced it is. Thank you very much. We stayed as a family of three. We were extremely satisfied with every aspect of our stay—the atmosphere of the Facility and the attentive service from the staff. The French course featuring duck, which we had requested in advance, was carefully prepared dish by dish. Not only was it delicious, but the presentation and ingredient pairings were outstanding—truly showcasing the chef’s talent. Recently, we often choose “Sakagura,” and in any case it is wonderfully quiet. The entire building has a calm presence, allowing us to relax and enjoy unhurried time away from everyday life. As always, all staff members were kind and courteous. Their thoughtful attention to detail could be felt throughout our stay, and we were comfortable from start to finish. Once again, we felt this is a truly wonderful Accommodation where the cuisine, Facility, and service are all in perfect harmony. Thank you very much.

We were able to stay at Kashiwaya again this year as a family, and we had a truly wonderful time. With only a few Rooms, we hardly ran into other guests even in the baths, so we could quietly enjoy the excellent waters of Bessho Onsen. The meals are gently seasoned and make the most of local ingredients, and no matter when we visit, it’s a mysterious Accommodation where we always sleep soundly at night. We look forward to visiting again.

This Room is highly recommended for anyone who wants to enjoy a trip with a sense of history and charm. The entire Room was exceptionally clean—so much so that it made me wish I could live in a home like this. It was also a real highlight to see how everyone who assisted us carefully and lovingly conveyed the concept of this Accommodation. Breakfast was thoughtfully prepared, with dishes that reflected local and traditional flavors, leaving both my stomach and heart happy from the morning. Not only is the Accommodation itself wonderful, but I also hope you’ll take in the atmosphere around it as well. Every shop and street has its own charm, and you can truly feel the kindness of the people and the pleasant air. It became a place I genuinely want to visit again. Thank you for such a wonderful trip where we could stay at a great Accommodation and meet such lovely people. I won’t forget this connection.

We arrived a little early, kindly left our car, and took a stroll around the area. Right away, we visited Suwa Taisha Shimosha Akimiya Shrine next door. In the backstreets of this historic townscape, you can find Onsen springs here and there—perfect for wandering at leisure. Both inside and outside the property felt very clean, showing careful management throughout. The staff’s smiles, service, and conversation were all refined; we truly felt their hospitality and attentiveness, which made our stay very comfortable. From the Room we stayed in—named “Kirishima”—we enjoyed a view of the grove surrounding Suwa Taisha Shimosha Akimiya Shrine, full of charm and atmosphere. Both dinner and breakfast featured local ingredients, and everything was delicious. We could also sense how dedicated the staff were, which made dining even more enjoyable. Bathing in the panoramic large public bath while looking out over the townscape glowing at dusk was exceptional. The water was a gentle Onsen that seemed to softly cling to the skin. Although it wasn’t in our original plans, we stopped by Harmo Museum about 7–8 minutes away by car after receiving a recommendation as we checked out. Driving along the well-maintained lakeside of Lake Suwa and enjoying wonderful paintings became a great memory for us. It was a truly relaxing Accommodation for adults—wonderful in every way. We stayed to celebrate the youngest of our three sons’ birthday—this was about our fifth visit. The room has evolved into a family room, and with the slide, swing, and bouldering wall, they played nonstop. All three were very happy and said they want to come again and stay again. Thank you as well to K for taking such great care of us during our meals—it made the memories even more special. Next time, we’d love to visit for our second son’s birthday. Thank you in advance.

From check-in to departure, it was a truly relaxing stay. Not only could I get away from the usual hustle and bustle, but I was also able to unwind in a space where I could feel nature in a different way than usual. The Hotel credit was included, so I enjoyed drinks at the bar as well. It was a wonderful time with excellent service and great drinks. I would love to stay again.

This was our eighth stay. Ever since our first visit, the Room, the private bath, and the surroundings of the Hotel have been very comfortable, and the meals are delicious. We stay about once a year, and it has become something my wife and I truly look forward to. This time as well, the food was excellent—especially the Chateaubriand, which was outstanding. Although it was rainy and we didn’t go to Mount Koya this time, we were able to see exceptionally beautiful flowering peach trees and weeping cherry blossoms around Sanso Amanosato.

We stayed here as a couple during the Obon holidays. Even though it was the hottest time of midsummer, Tenkawa Village was wonderfully cool—a top summer retreat in Kansai where we could stay comfortable without using the Room air conditioner and without breaking a sweat. We had long admired the charm of Dorogawa Onsen and had wanted to stay there at least once, and choosing Hanaya Tokubei was absolutely the right decision. The whole town has a lovely atmosphere, but Tokubei stands out for its especially distinctive and tasteful building. Because there are few guest Rooms with private indoor baths in the area, we stayed in “Higashi no Tenku” with an indoor bath. The view is mostly of the courtyard, so if you are used to resort-style Onsen facilities it may not exceed expectations. Still, considering this is traditionally an Accommodation used by ascetics, we felt it was a true luxury and enjoyed it. The meals were delicious Japanese cuisine featuring plenty of local ingredients, with thoughtful touches throughout that kept our Multiple Night Stay from ever feeling repetitive. We were completely full but couldn’t bear to leave anything behind—and finished every last bite. Spending time on the veranda at dusk with a beer in hand while watching people pass by was simply wonderful. After sunset, strolling around the area in yukata is also great fun. Wherever you walk, the lantern lights feel magical, and Tokubei lends out portable lanterns as well. It was like stepping back into a period drama. There were also foreign staff members, and they were genuinely kind and attentive—we truly appreciated it. This is an Accommodation we would love to visit again. Highly recommended if you are sightseeing in Dorogawa Onsen.

Thank you very much for taking care of us during our 4-night Multiple Night Stay. This time, we stayed in the “Oryu” Room. First of all, every staff member was incredibly kind and clearly loves animals. Everyone greeted us with a smile, was gentle and attentive, brought anything we needed right away, and did their best to accommodate our requests. I’m truly grateful—your staff deserves more than five stars. Next, the meals. We were told they were prepared in a special-suite style, and both the taste and quality were excellent—high standard, delicious, and thoughtfully varied. Even over several days, we never got tired of them and enjoyed every meal. With longer stays, menus can sometimes become difficult for the kitchen side as well, but you handled everything so carefully. Since I’m also a small eater, you kindly let me choose from the menu and adjusted portion sizes accordingly. This also deserves more than five stars. As mentioned earlier, your care for animals was also very thoughtful and helpful. I visited with both a dog and a cat, and it seemed comfortable for both of them. The hot spring water quality was also wonderful. As for the guest room layout: there is a long corridor between the Room area and the bath area, which felt slightly inconvenient, so I deducted one star there. On the other hand, having an additional Room separate from the main living space made it easy to stay comfortably even when traveling with friends—an excellent design. Regarding amenities: there are no pet amenities provided (so bringing your own is necessary), but having at least a litter box available would be very helpful. The surroundings were also fantastic—like a hidden mountain hamlet. By chance we were able to see “Children’s Kagura,” which has deep history and is clearly cherished by the community. The performers practice extensively (twice a week), and while they are indeed children (apparently ranging from 3rd grade elementary school to 3rd year high school), their performance was outstanding and truly impressive. If your dates happen to coincide with it during your stay nearby, it’s absolutely worth seeing. (It seems Kagura is held several times a year; I’d love to see other performances as well.) I also felt that preserving traditional Japanese festivals like this is part of what makes this area so special—and I think it may become even more well-known in the future. It’s about 30 minutes by car to Yufuin Station, so even on an extended stay you can easily go shopping for necessities. Sightseeing around Yufuin should be convenient as well—and Beppu is also about 30 minutes away via expressway—so overall it feels like an excellent location for travelers who want to explore.

Thank you for your continued support. Staying at this Hotel is a special pleasure for us as a couple. In summer, we stay here after SUP in Zushi, and in winter, around our wedding anniversary. The location is incredibly convenient—close to Kamakura Station and just steps away whether you want to shop for souvenirs or buy freshly harvested vegetables at Renbai. The moment we step into the Hotel entrance, that distinctive scent brings us back, and it makes us smile. All the staff are kind and provide truly pleasant service. That’s why we never feel like trying another Hotel (laugh). We’ve already made our winter Reservation! Until then, we’ll keep working hard.

I found this Accommodation while looking for a place with great food and made a Reservation. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent, and we were very satisfied! It also has great access to the two shrines and one temple, and with checkout at 12:00, we could take our time—being able to go out after breakfast and come back was especially convenient. We would love to stay here again when we visit Nikko. Thank you very much.

This Accommodation has become more upscale in recent years and is now a bit of a splurge for me, so I visited this time to take advantage of a great deal. As always, the Onsen was wonderful, the meals were delicious, and the Room was spacious and very comfortable. I was also happy that you remembered my various requests from previous stays. Thank you to all the staff for your hospitality again—I’d love to visit again when I find another opportunity.

I’ve been wanting to visit in every season since my last stay, but our schedules never lined up, so we ended up returning in July again. The cedar-lined path from the Accommodation to Hakone Shrine felt cool and refreshing even under the strong sun, and we were lucky enough to hear the evening cicadas singing—reminding me once again how wonderful Hakone is. Even during dinner we could occasionally hear them; together with the thoughtfully prepared dishes with elegant seasoning and the recommended sake, it made for a truly luxurious time. The next day, after enjoying a healthy breakfast carefully prepared, we were kindly driven to Motohakone Port. From the deck of the pirate ship, we cruised while looking at Mt. Fuji and fully enjoying the cool breeze. We’ll be back again.

I had a wonderful stay. I accidentally arrived at Glover Garden, so I called the Hotel and they kindly helped me. When I entered, they greeted me very politely: “Were you the one who called earlier? We’ve been waiting for you—you arrived sooner than we expected.” After that, every staff member continued to treat me with warm hospitality. That alone made me feel glad I chose this Hotel. In the lobby there are two counters—one open until 10:30 p.m. and another available all day—where you can enjoy as many drinks and snacks as you like. Since I arrived late, I do regret not getting there earlier so I could have tried more from the limited-time counter. The braised pork and chocolate were delicious; there was plenty of braised pork left, so if I hadn’t eaten too much at my dinner gathering, I could have finished it all… maybe next time. Still, the all-day counter was more than enough to enjoy. The lounge also has a great selection of books, so I stayed up a bit reading while enjoying tea and sweets from the all-day counter. It was such a relaxing time. Breakfast in a steamer basket was comforting and delicious as well—the yuzu miso was especially amazing. They also had loquat and mandarin drinks. I expected them to be sweet, but they tasted properly like tea with just a subtle hint of flavor. Personally (with my sweet tooth), the mandarin juice added to the all-day counter in the morning was particularly tasty. There is no Onsen (as expected), and while this is clear if you check in advance, toothbrushes are not provided for sustainability reasons. However, there’s a convenience store about 50 meters away from the Hotel, so it wasn’t inconvenient at all. I’ll definitely come again! Thank you very much for such a wonderful time.
