I think this is a very satisfying Accommodation. Although it is not an Accommodation within Kamikochi, if you are trekking from Taisho Pond to Kappa Bridge, I would recommend this Accommodation even more. We were able to park until 3:00 PM the next day, and it was also possible to use the Onsen for a day trip after the trek. The staff’s smiles were delightful, and it was a wonderful, relaxing Accommodation.

The services were excellent, but what impressed us even more was the warm hospitality and thoughtful care throughout our stay! Every staff member we met was kind and welcoming, and we truly had a heartwarming time. There were plenty of complimentary drinks and snacks (the summer water service was especially appreciated). We stayed with three preschool-aged children, and even when they got excited, a bit noisy, or fussy, the staff never showed any displeasure—always smiling, speaking gently to them, and offering help whenever they noticed we might be struggling. The team at the front desk, dining area, Onsen area—everyone was wonderful. They were also very courteous when I called in advance with several questions. We chose this Accommodation to visit LEGOLAND Japan and Oyatsu Town, and we definitely want to stay again! Both dinner and breakfast were delicious! It’s located in a place where you can really feel nature, and the Onsen with scenic views made for a relaxing time. This trip reminded me that meeting kind people makes travel so much more fulfilling.

Soaking in the gentle hot water was truly soothing, and the delicious cuisine (the broth was exceptionally good) was a delight. The riverside scenery, including the sand bath, was beautiful as well—an outstanding Accommodation. Above all, the hostess’s hospitality was exceptional. We stayed here for a two-person trip with a friend. Thanks to the warm hospitality of the staff, we truly felt the welcoming spirit that Kochi is known for. The intonation of the Tosa dialect was a real delight for visitors from outside the prefecture, and I hope you will continue to cherish your local way of speaking without trying to “correct” it. Although the building and air-conditioning equipment show their age, everything is well maintained, and both our Room and the interior were kept clean, allowing us to rest very comfortably. When I noticed that the elevator mat had the day of the week written on it, it was a small surprise—it made me realize it must be changed daily. We were also happy to enjoy local specialties at breakfast buffet, and the freshly made rice balls prepared on the spot were delicious. The selection that lets guests experience regional specialties through taste as well was wonderful. Coming back drenched in sweat, using the large public bath felt especially great. Soaking in such a spacious bath helped melt away our fatigue, and we slept soundly that night. The souvenir corner was well stocked too, and it was fun choosing items. It may be routine for those at reception, but we really appreciated being reminded not to forget our Ryoma Passport stamp when we almost did. It was also reassuring to see how well information had been handed over from the previous day. Thank you for taking care of us for three days and two nights. This is an Accommodation we would like to choose again when visiting Kochi.

Due to my mistake, I thought I had made a Reservation for a Plan with dinner and breakfast, but it turned out to be without breakfast. At check-in, you confirmed it with me and added breakfast—thank you for noticing. Everyone was cheerful and kind throughout my stay, and I had a comfortable, enjoyable time. I was also happy to buy the Hotel’s original daifuku as souvenirs, and they were well received. The Onsen was wonderful, of course, and the meals were excellent as well. It was my first stay here, but it was reasonably priced and exceeded my expectations. With fewer smoking-friendly Hotels these days, I really appreciate it. I’ll be back again.

Located a little beyond Yamanaka Onsen’s Yuge Kaido, this Accommodation sits across from Kayano Osugi, a nationally designated Natural Monument. Camellias were depicted throughout the Accommodation—do camellias bloom here in winter? Bright red camellias against white snow would be beautiful. To reach the Accommodation’s signature Yunobata, you go down a stone staircase, where fresh greenery, a clear stream, and birdsong soothe you and let you fully enjoy nature. From the Room, we also enjoyed the sunrise peeking over the mountains. The meals were wonderful in both presentation and taste; cold dishes were served cold and hot dishes hot, showing thoughtful attention to detail. Surrounded by nature and delicious food, we were able to relax and spend unhurried time. Thank you very much.

The staff greeted us with warm smiles. They informed us about the chance to see fireflies at night, and when we went to check it out after our bath, we were amazed by the numerous fireflies. We also appreciated that the lighting was dimmed for better viewing. The Room was spacious, and both the private bath and large public bath were excellent.

I chose Zao Onsen this time because I wanted to soak in Wald Berg’s open-air bath again after a long time. When I arrived at the Hotel, I felt the hospitality and service were better than before. At the front desk, they seemed to remember that I had stayed here previously. When I was shown to my Room, I appreciated that the air conditioning had already been set to a comfortable temperature. And then, the Onsen—Zao Onsen really is wonderful. Among all the baths in Zao Onsen, Wald Berg’s forest open-air bath is spacious and truly outstanding. Dinner was more than satisfying as well, and I was happy that even a solo guest receives a beer. I ended up enjoying the open-air bath four times—it was excellent. The only disappointment was that the riverside open-air bath was closed due to bear activity, so I couldn’t use it. In the past, my mother-in-law, my wife, and I came together and enjoyed our stay; this year my mother-in-law passed away, so it was just the two of us. As it is Obon season, we enjoyed Zao Onsen while remembering her fondly.

My daughter and I had a wonderful stay. Everything we ate was delicious, and we enjoyed a very filling meal—simply the best! We were really looking forward to the baths; it was raining on the first day so we couldn’t use the open-air bath, but the rain stopped the next morning and we were able to go in. The view was amazing! If I had to say one thing, I would have preferred the bath temperature a little lower—it felt quite hot. Still, we’d love to stay again. Thank you very much.

I’ve stayed here several times, but this was my first time at Kobushi. ○ There is a gap at the bottom of the Room door, so outside noise carries in easily. ○ Because there is no door to the dining area, food smells spread throughout the entire floor. Also, dinner time is set at 90 minutes, and the next dishes come slowly. When dining with a child (one-plate meal), they finished early and it was difficult. These two points were drawbacks. Everything else was perfect. You can enjoy yourself from morning until late afternoon the next day! You can play a lot and relax, and everyone from children to adults will be satisfied. No matter how many times we come, my child says they want to stay again. Regarding meals, I’d appreciate it if the serving pace could be faster for guests with children—once they finish eating, they have nothing to do.

I think this is a very good Hotel with excellent value for money. If I had to mention one drawback, it would be that it can feel crowded and a bit hard to get around because there are so many guests—proof of how popular this Accommodation is. The breakfast buffet was a big hit with my family! The bath was also wonderful. On our way home, I realized at Gamagori Station that I had left my wallet on a sofa on the first-floor lobby of the Hotel, and I panicked and called. A kind guest turned it in to the front desk, and a staff member even brought it to the station. I’m truly sorry for the trouble, but your kindness saved our trip. We will definitely stay again next time. Thank you very much.

Stayed alone on Friday. The renovated Japanese-Western style room was very clean and provided a relaxing stay. Although the room was near the front desk, karaoke room, and kids' room, it was well soundproofed, and once the door was closed, it was perfectly quiet. The large public bath was conveniently close as well. At the dining area, staff members showed thoughtful consideration by arranging seating to ensure privacy whenever possible. The buffet offered an excellent variety of dishes with great flavors, allowing for a calm and satisfying meal experience. Most notably, while many large-scale hotels often have baths where it's unclear if they use Onsen water or regular heated water, this one had authentic Onsen water with a truly pleasant feel. The location is outstanding with breathtaking views of the sea up close—absolutely fantastic! Being a large chain hotel popular among families, I initially wondered how it would be for solo travelers like myself; however, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay thanks to their hospitality. Thank you very much!

This Hotel offers an excellent, comfortable large public bath, and the breakfast is also very varied—with desserts as well—making it a place you can truly enjoy.

Due to various circumstances, I hadn’t been able to visit for quite some time, so this was my first stay in about two years—but it was still an Accommodation that left me completely satisfied, just as always. From the Shuttle Service onward, everyone was kind and helpful, and after arriving the stay was truly comfortable—warm and homey—and I was able to relax at a leisurely pace and unwind from everyday stress. At check-in I was told, “Our sommelier is on duty today.” I love wine and always look forward to dinner here, and this time the sommelier came to my table and kindly explained many things in detail to someone like me who’s simply a wine lover without much knowledge. Just listening and imagining those explanations while drinking made it an incredibly enjoyable time. Of course, every dish was delicious as well. Thank you for your thoughtful care even though I was traveling solo. I felt lucky that my stay happened to coincide with a day when the sommelier was working. This Accommodation always makes me feel a little sad when it’s time to leave—and from that very moment it makes me think, “I’ll work hard so I can come back again.” I will definitely stay again. Thank you so much for everything!!

Excellent access. All staff were very kind, and everything—from check-in and check-out to luggage storage and pickup—was smooth. I understand the bath can get crowded, but during peak hours it was especially difficult for women; even with guidance at the entrance, it was so packed that there were no lockers available. I happened to go in just before it got busy, and when I came out there were so many people that I quickly took my belongings from the locker to free it up for others. On days with many guests, it’s best to choose your time carefully. From 9:00 PM on Saturday, it was extremely crowded. For a Multiple Night Stay, towel-only replacement is fine and eco-friendly, but it was disappointing that the complimentary water was provided for only one night. If staying multiple nights, I would have liked it delivered again with the towels the next day (other Hotels do this even for multiple-night stays). The Room coffee is instant stick coffee. If you care about coffee quality, bringing your own is recommended. There is a kettle. This was my first stay at an APA Hotel. It’s efficient and kind; if you think of it as a Business Hotel where you don’t use the large public bath, I think it’s a good Hotel. The air conditioning cannot be adjusted—depending on the season, it may feel too hot or too cold. During a very busy festival period, this convenience and price were great.

I chose this ryokan in Chita because I wanted to enjoy fugu, and their fugu dishes were introduced on the site. My room was upgraded, and during this season, I could see both the sunrise and sunset from the room, making it a truly wonderful experience (I uploaded photos of the sunrise and sunset). Yesterday, there were reportedly over 100 guests staying here, but today it was just us. We had the luxury of enjoying the onsen all to ourselves. I imagine yesterday must have been extremely busy for the staff like a "battle," so we felt grateful yet slightly apologetic for being able to enjoy such a calm atmosphere today. The hostess was very friendly and chatted with us during mealtime, allowing us to relax and have an enjoyable time. The onsen features a unique "stone bath" design where water flows beneath stones, creating a serene bathing experience. The indoor bath is slightly hotter while the open-air bath has just the right temperature—perfect for those who prefer either hot or milder baths. Personally, I loved the temperature of the open-air bath; it was perfect for me! The natural fugu we came here for was absolutely delicious as well. Overall, this accommodation offers a relaxing stay with plenty of time to unwind at your own pace!

Recent accommodations often focus on being "Instagrammable," looking great in photos but sometimes falling short in reality. However, this accommodation, while the building itself shows signs of aging, is impeccably clean and offers a very comfortable stay. The bath includes a private open-air hot spring with flowing water, offering breathtaking views of the vast ocean from a scenic cape. During my stay, it was a full moon, and I enjoyed an unforgettable moment under the moonlight accompanied by the sounds of nature. Meals are seafood-focused! Breakfast features marinated tuna rice bowls. The half-buffet style allows you to adjust portions to your appetite. Even the pickles reflect the chef's dedication to quality—everything was absolutely delicious. The evening stargazing session was unexpectedly enjoyable with detailed explanations provided by staff. The staff members were incredibly kind and attentive, making every aspect of my stay satisfying. Thanks to their support, I managed to visit Nachi Taisha Shrine and Nachi Falls despite having limited time. Thank you very much! This accommodation is highly recommended for those who value authenticity over superficial appeal.
