The facilities and guest rooms were clean and spacious, and it was wonderful to be able to enjoy seven types of private baths free of charge. The buffet meals were also delicious. In addition, the staff were courteous and kind. As is common across Kyoritsu Resort properties, they offered thoughtful complimentary services—from welcome drinks to post-bath ice cream, free probiotic drinks in the morning, and even late-night soba noodles. However, it was raining that day and the parking lot was a bit far away, which was slightly inconvenient.

I love the calm atmosphere of Tateshina Tokyu Hotel and have stayed here several times. Its setting in the forest, the dignified yet unpretentious interiors, and the quiet time you can spend here offer a charm that is hard to find at other hotels. This time was no different, and it reminded me again how much I like this hotel. Also, though it’s a small thing, I really like the toothbrushes in the guest rooms. They’re comfortable to use, and I can feel the hotel’s thoughtfulness even in these details. I hope you will continue with the current ones. On the other hand, precisely because I’ve been coming for many years, there are a few things that disappointed me. The biggest one is that Japanese dinner has been discontinued since this year. On a Multiple Night Stay, we used to enjoy being able to choose “Western tonight, Japanese tomorrow” within the hotel itself. Especially for us—who prefer not to drive once we arrive and instead relax in the forest or inside—the option was very important. French cuisine certainly has its appeal, but having Western meals both nights makes it feel like a slightly different hotel than before. I would be happy if Japanese dinner becomes an option again someday. I was also sorry to hear that the garden pool, long loved by guests, has ended operations starting this year. I understand it was due to aging facilities (Facility), but combined with the end of Japanese dinner options (Facility), it feels as though some of what made Tateshina Tokyu special is gradually disappearing. One more thing I would love to see enhanced is the in-house library collection (Facility). This is such a quiet Hotel where you can relax while looking out at the forest—perfect for reading. The current selection feels lacking not so much in quantity as in curation quality. If there were more books that you’d want to pick up specifically because you came to Tateshina—on Shinshu’s nature and culture, mountains, architecture, travel writing, literature—it would make time spent at this Hotel even richer. I’m not asking for new facilities or services one after another. Rather, I hope you will continue cherishing and preserving what makes this Hotel unique. These comments come from someone who truly likes this Hotel—and I hope to keep visiting for many years to come.

I booked our stay for the last day of Golden Week on Yahoo Travel two days in advance. It was a staff-selected Room and there was only one left, but it was a Japanese-Western style Room with two separate rooms and a unit bath, so my wife, who has some difficulty with her legs, was very satisfied. Dinner was delicious and satisfying, though it felt a little small for a man. The breakfast buffet offered both Japanese and Western options, and it was fun to make your own seafood rice bowl or sashimi set meal. The baths had two types—hot and lukewarm—and there was also a sauna, so I went in four times. The staff service, Facilities, and amenities were all satisfactory. However, the Room lighting did not support dimming, so it sometimes felt dark. This was our first time staying on Awaji Island, and my wife and I are already talking about staying again next time.

From the time of my initial inquiry, the staff were extremely courteous and helpful, which allowed me to feel at ease on the day of our stay. The welcome cruising we had been looking forward to was fantastic, and since it was my wife’s birthday, they kindly upgraded our Room as well. We were able to spend a special time in an outstanding location. Thanks to the warm hospitality of all the staff, it became a truly satisfying anniversary. We would love to stay again.

The staff included many young women from overseas, and everyone served us politely with constant smiles, so I was able to fully enjoy a satisfying Onsen Accommodation—thank you very much. Next time, I’d like to visit with my wife and daughters as a family, and I look forward to seeing you then. If I may make one request: I had a beer in the floor area next to the front desk, but I was disappointed that the glass was at room temperature (it was a hot day, so it felt lukewarm). The meals were delicious, the Room was clean, and the service was attentive—making for a wonderful stay in Kyoto. It’s an ideal location for sightseeing around Kiyomizu-dera Temple!

I’d been wanting to go fishing and had been curious about this Accommodation for a while, so I was finally able to stay here. The building and facilities felt a bit aged overall, but that created a calm atmosphere where I could relax without any pretense. There was tea-scented incense in the room, which really impressed me. I thoroughly enjoyed fishing, and at both dinner and breakfast the staff kindly explained everything in detail—their thoughtful hospitality made it a warm and comfortable stay. The meals were excellent in both quantity and quality. I’d love to come back in another season to enjoy fishing, the Onsen, and the food again.

After 25 years of visiting Nozawa Onsen just for skiing without staying overnight, this was my first stay. The Onsen was incredibly relaxing, and since it’s available all night, I went in from around 5 a.m.! Every dish was delicious; being in season, we had bamboo shoot rice. The attendant’s hospitality was wonderful, and we had a great conversation about visiting Togakushi Okusha the next day. Breakfast the following morning was also very enjoyable. I’m grateful to have stayed at such a lovely Accommodation and to all the staff. I’d love to stay again!

We stayed for two nights as a family. Just as the Reviews said, the food was delicious and we were very satisfied. However, there was more than we could finish and we ended up leaving some, so we wished there had been a Plan with smaller portions. At dinner, we had seats with a beautiful view of the sunset. If we have another chance to visit Sado, we would definitely like to stay again.

I’m truly sorry for having to rush you due to our circumstances, but the meal was absolutely wonderful—everything from the tableware and presentation to the flavors. I only wish we could have enjoyed it more slowly. My son also said he definitely wants to visit again, so next time I hope we can invite my daughter and her husband and come together. We stayed in a Room on the 3rd floor. I can go up and down stairs normally now, but when my knees were bad, stairs were not possible for me. It may be a bit difficult for guests who need a cane.

I visited after a mountain hike. At check-in, we were offered only a cold hand towel, with no tea or sweets, and were shown to our Room. The Accommodation is small, but it felt clean throughout, including the Room, so we were able to stay comfortably in that respect. There was also complimentary beer service, but it was a bit disappointing that it was served in a cup rather than a mug or glass. The bath uses mineral spring water and has no taste or smell. I didn’t notice anything in particular while soaking, but after a while my skin felt smooth. Also, as time passed my body warmed up nicely, so it’s a good bath. As the Reviews said, the meals featured plenty of Toyama ingredients. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, but I think the dining experience would be even better with some explanation of the dishes. That said, during the meal the staff member in charge only said things like “Here you are” and “I’ll clear these,” which felt a little impersonal. I could hear another staff member serving the table behind us saying things like “Would you like more rice?” and “Would you like seconds?”, so it may depend on each person’s approach—but I wished for slightly more guest-focused service from our attendant. I was also concerned about there being cameras installed in several places; it felt somewhat like being watched. If they were placed more discreetly or with more consideration, it might feel less uncomfortable. Overall though, I think it was a good Accommodation.

I stay here on the last day of every trip, and this time again I used it on the final day of my 10-day journey. The food was exceptionally delicious, and the bath had wonderful spring water quality—I was completely satisfied. I think Umegashima will get even hotter from here, but please keep up the great work. I’ll visit again, so thank you in advance.

I stayed here in the middle of an extreme heat wave. The Room was Japanese-style, with a round table and floor cushions. Wi-Fi was available. The futon was already laid out. It didn’t feel old-fashioned at all and was very clean. It’s an out-bath style, but there is a single-person bath right next door. There may not be many Rooms, so it never felt crowded and I could use it without any trouble. Breakfast was very lavish: classic items like grilled salmon, miso soup, rice served in an ohitsu tub, teppan-yaki on a ceramic plate, dessert, cassis vinegar drink, yogurt, and even soft drinks at the end. It was almost too much. The location is a bit far from the ferry terminal, and convenience stores are also near the ferry terminal, so don’t forget to shop beforehand. I’d like to stay here again when I visit.

We stayed here for a family trip to celebrate my seafood-loving husband’s retirement, on a friend’s recommendation. Everyone was very satisfied with the surprisingly generous boat platter of sashimi and the seafood dishes. The Room felt a bit small for four people. The sink area in the Room was also small, so it might have been better to use the shared facilities outside. The tatami bath was wonderful. Because there had been cancellations due to the typhoon, we were the only guests, so my daughter and I were able to soak and relax at our leisure. It was amazing. We received warm and pleasant hospitality, and we would definitely like to stay again.

It felt like a cozy, homey hidden retreat, and we were able to relax at a very leisurely pace. Dinner was served in small portions, but each dish was carefully prepared, and we enjoyed a delicious meal that left us completely satisfied. Breakfast was beautifully presented in small bowls and felt just right for the morning, but we were surprised when grilled kama (fish collar) was served—though it was absolutely delicious. The owner and hostess were wonderfully warm and welcoming, which made our stay truly comforting.

We were highly satisfied with everything—the Room, the Onsen, the atmosphere throughout the building, the service, and the meals. Since there were three of us this time, we booked a quadruple Room. Usually the third person ends up on an extra bed, but here it was a proper spacious bed, so we could truly relax. The entire building is covered with tatami mats, so you can walk anywhere barefoot or in socks and feel relaxed as if you were at home. It was also fun being able to choose a colored yukata. In addition, several types of pillows were placed in the hallway on each floor along with pillowcases so guests could choose—this really felt like exceptional hospitality. The process of taking the slope car to reach the Accommodation was enjoyable as well, and everything about how we were guided was smooth—we really felt how good the service was. The meals were delicious and thoughtfully prepared, making them visually enjoyable too. We also had a dedicated staff member who carefully explained that no allergens were included and provided detailed guidance about each dish—their attentiveness was outstanding. It was truly a wonderful stay.

This was my third stay. It was my first time visiting in summer, and the lush greenery outside the window was very soothing. There are many international staff members, but everyone works hard and it never feels out of place. This time, I ordered cake and coffee to go from the café lounge, and I really appreciated how a Japanese staff member carefully packed the cup in the cake box so it wouldn’t tip over—such thoughtful attention to detail. I’ll be back again. Thank you very much.

I’ve stayed at many Accommodations where I thought, “This looks different from the photos on the official website…,” so I tried not to expect too much, but I was completely satisfied with everything. The Room was spacious and clean, and the in-room toilet had been renovated—large and comfortable. The footbath was also very relaxing. Both breakfast and dinner were buffet-style and delicious. The staff were all very pleasant as well. By chance, there was a summer festival nearby on the day we stayed, so we enjoyed Bon dancing, food stalls, games, and even a small fireworks display. I would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

Last year, I stayed here with my parents, who use wheelchairs, and we were truly well taken care of. I wanted to bring them to the Onsen they love while they were recuperating, and we chose this place because the Room had a bath and it was barrier-free. The Room was very relaxing, and the food was exceptional—my parents kept saying how delicious it was as they ate with such joy. Late at night, my father and I also enjoyed the ramen snack service and ice cream together. After that, my father passed away, so this year we stayed again in his memory. At dinner, you kindly prepared a set meal for him with rice and miso soup among other items. I was deeply moved by this unexpected gesture and couldn’t hold back my tears. We displayed his photo, shared memories of him, and enjoyed the meal. The Facility is wonderful, but above all else, thank you for your heartfelt hospitality. I would love to stay again!

As guests born in the Showa era, we found this wonderful Showa bubble–style Accommodation to be the best. It was spotlessly clean, and both the hot water and the meals were excellent. It was quiet, and we could relax at a leisurely pace. We will visit again together with trips to Oze and Fukiware Falls.
