This was our 10th stay or more, and thank you as always for taking such great care of us. The food and the Onsen were excellent.

The location was excellent, and the staff were warm, attentive, and thoughtful. The taste and quality of the meals were also outstanding—everything was truly wonderful. I was impressed that the Room had a kettle of hot water, a pitcher of iced water, and bottled water at room temperature prepared in advance. It’s rare to find an Accommodation that provides three different temperature options, all ready to drink right away. There was a 10-cup kendama set in the lobby, and it became a fun memory as not only children but adults also gathered around to try it together. When the strings got tangled and we struggled to put it back properly, someone from the front desk came out to help us. It may seem like a small thing, but we really appreciated their kindness. The breakfast buffet was well stocked, tasted great, offered plenty of variety, and left us completely satisfied. It was also great that we could use the bathhouse from early morning until late at night. If there were an open-air bath as well, it would be perfect. If I have another chance to visit Miyajima, I would definitely stay here again.

This was my second stay, and this time I visited in summer. The Room was much larger than last time and seemed newly renovated—a Japanese-Western style Room with beds. Dinner and breakfast were served in a private room in a separate building, the same as before. This time it was a summer-style kaiseki featuring sweetfish (ayu). (In winter, it’s wild boar hot pot.) The open-air bath in the Room was also great. There are two large public baths; my favorite is the one with hot spring water cascading like a waterfall, which is used as the men’s bath at night and the women’s bath in the morning. I was even more satisfied than last time. Guests ranged from families with children to couples and married couples. Even the walk from the parking lot to the Room has a charming atmosphere, so I can recommend it. The service is very polite as well. (It seems staff change between dinner and breakfast—there were lots of “mom”-type staff members in the morning.) You’ll find tanuki figures all around. Also, the vending machines are reasonably priced, and it was nice that there were bottled drinks for each guest plus a thermos of iced water in the Room. (So you don’t need to buy water beforehand.) *Since you can’t tell the exact Room layout at Reservation, if you care about futons vs beds or whether there is a partition for the bath area, it may be best to call and confirm.* (The Room we had last time in February 2025 had futons, and if you opened the curtain by the open-air bath you could be seen. This time we had a Western-style bedroom with beds, and there was also a door/wooden screen by the open-air bath—so there were differences. It’s possible renovations have been done since then.)

Last time, the step inside the Room made it difficult to get to the open-air bath, so this time I made a Reservation for a barrier-free Room. The Room was clean, and of course the hot spring water felt wonderful. There was water provided in the Room, in the electric kettle, and even in the coffee maker—I've rarely stayed anywhere that thoughtful, and it made me very happy. The wooden decorative framework in the Room was also lovely. I’m not usually a fan of yukata, but the fabric was soft and comfortable to wear. There were cushion-style chairs in the Room; however, when sitting on them, neither I (with bad legs) nor my husband (whose legs and lower back have become a bit weak) could use them comfortably. We wished there were at least two standard dining-style chairs like those in the restaurant area—it was disappointing. If you could replace just two of the four seats with regular chairs, it would be greatly appreciated by elderly guests. The meals were delicious, and all staff were polite and hospitable. Thank you very much for taking care of us.

We stayed as two couples. We made the reservation based on the reviews. Upon entering the room, there was a Western-style area with twin beds, a small table, and chairs. Beyond that was a Japanese-style room with a low table and chairs. It was very comfortable to stay in. As for the bath, I personally thought it was nice, but my husband said it felt cold inside and only used it once at night. Dinner was just as delicious as mentioned in the reviews. In comparison, breakfast left a slightly disappointing impression. Overall, I think this accommodation offers great value for money. I would love to visit again if I have the chance!

The food was excellent. Each dish had a unique local touch, and even though we ate until we were full, it didn’t feel heavy. We really appreciated the thoughtful hospitality. It was easy to ask for advice on how to spend our time, and this is an Accommodation we’d love to stay at again in a different season.\nThe stairs are steep, so you need to be careful, but I’d still like to bring my mother.

Shizukatei True to its name, this Accommodation was wonderfully quiet and relaxing, far removed from any hustle and bustle, and surrounded by peaceful rural scenery. The road to the Accommodation was a narrow farm lane where passing other cars required care, but clear signs were placed at key points, and as we got closer, banners guided us along the route. Soba-an I had high expectations for the 80/20 soba served at dinner, but it easily surpassed them—it was exceptionally delicious. In addition, many dishes were prepared using plenty of seasonal vegetables, carefully cooked and beautifully presented. We enjoyed a wide variety of flavors and textures, as well as the visual appeal. Breakfast was also an excellent Japanese set meal with plenty of vegetables and a generous number of dishes. Oshu Hiraizumi Onsen The free-flowing natural Onsen water was a little hot, but we thoroughly enjoyed it together with the open-air bath. Finally, what impressed me most during this stay was the staff. From check-in to being shown to our Room; since dinner was served in-room, their smooth service and efficient delivery; after the meal, clearing everything away and then laying out the futons with equally outstanding efficiency; checkout was completed without any waiting time, and they even came outside to see us off afterward. This was our first visit during Golden Week as part of a family trip service day, and my family was truly happy and satisfied. We were deeply impressed by the professionalism of everyone involved.

This was my first stay here. I chose this Hotel because I wanted to visit Seibuen Amusement Park nearby. I checked in looking forward to the Room upgrade Plan, and was amazed by the wall-to-wall windows with a wide-open sky and Lake Tama spread out before me. Being a top-floor corner Room made the view even more spectacular. The spacious, spotless Room delighted my child as well. The large public bath on site was also spacious and comfortable. They seem to pay attention to fragrance as well, and the pleasant scent throughout helped me relax deeply. The front desk staff were excellent, and I truly felt I was receiving first-class Hotel service. The rooftop restaurant also had a beautiful view, and everything at breakfast was delicious. The attentiveness of the service staff there was outstanding too—they were constantly mindful of every guest and provided fast, flawless service. It reminded me of true Japanese hospitality that has become rarer to see these days. This was the best Hotel I’ve stayed at recently. Thank you very much for taking such great care of us.

The Onsen water quality is excellent, and you stay pleasantly warm long after your bath. The meals, including Yonezawa beef, were all delicious and very filling. The staff were kind and welcoming, making for a truly relaxing stay. I would love to stay here again when visiting Yonezawa.

I have visited Ikaho several times for Onsen-hopping, and this time I stayed at Kishigon, which I had wanted to try for a while.\n\nI really enjoyed visiting the three different baths. In particular, Gonzaemon-no-Yu had a wonderful atmosphere and became my favorite.\n\nWhen I visited Ikaho last time, I stayed at another Onsen Accommodation with the same Golden Hot Spring water, but it was disappointingly lukewarm, so I was a bit worried. However, at Kishigon the temperature was just right for me and it was excellent.\n\nThe view from the Room was great as well. At the post-bath lounge area (available only during certain hours), we could enjoy alcoholic drinks, and in the lounge we could have coffee.\n\nSince the stone steps are right in front of the Accommodation, it was easy to take a stroll after check-in or after dinner.\n\nOverall, it was great value—there were so many things to enjoy at a reasonable price.

Thank you for your hospitality. The doorman, front desk, and restaurant staff were all courteous and kind. There were more than enough amenities and towels provided for the number of guests, so we could stay comfortable without having to reuse the same towels. The lounge food and breakfast were both delicious. We will definitely stay again when we visit Awaji Island!

The coastline views during the evening fireworks were stunning. We could fully enjoy the Sea of Japan from both the Room and the bath. The meals were delicious, and we truly experienced all the best of a traditional Japanese Onsen. Winter may be known for crab, but Kaike Onsen in summer is wonderful.

We stayed for one night and two days with our grandchild. As mentioned in the Reviews, the building and the Room itself are indeed old, but everything was properly cleaned and there were no issues. With the all-you-can-play passport, we fully enjoyed bowling, the pool, craft-making, festival-style games, quizzes, a stamp rally, and more. The free shuttle bus from the Hotel to Yubatake at night was extremely helpful; it was my first time seeing the Yubatake illumination, and I was surprised by how many tourists were there. Even though it was summer, walking around Yubatake felt pleasantly cool—almost a little chilly—which was wonderful. The next day we used the Hotel bus again because I wanted my grandchild to enjoy street food and try yumomi (hot spring water stirring). I had only ever visited Kusatsu in winter before, so this summer trip was a first for me. While news reports talked about extreme heat in Tokyo, I was amazed at how cool and comfortable Kusatsu is in summer. At night we didn’t need air conditioning in our Room; it even felt slightly chilly. Summer in Kusatsu is great.\nThe meals were delicious, and everyone at the front desk, each reception counter, and the shop—especially the international staff—was very polite and pleasant. Every staff member provided excellent service; I was truly impressed. This is a highly recommended Hotel for families with children as well. We would love to visit again. One drawback is that the Hotel is so large that it’s easy to get lost—especially when trying to find the baths; as noted in Reviews, we got lost too. Overall though, it was a wonderful Hotel. Thank you very much.

I stayed here on a solo trip and had a wonderful experience. The Facility and amenities were even more well-equipped than I expected, and I was able to relax as if I were at home. The staff were also very courteous. It was raining heavily, but they lent me an umbrella and their thoughtful care felt truly warm. At the same time, they maintained a comfortable sense of distance—not too close—which made the stay even more pleasant and made me want to come back. On the night of my stay, there was a local kagura performance, and I really enjoyed experiencing the myths. I felt very lucky that it happened to be on that day. This time I booked No Meals Included, so next time I’d love to try the meals as well. With high expectations for the food too, it’s an all 5-star rating from me.

I stayed here with a friend. The infinity Onsen and the food were both excellent. However, the hair dryers in the large public bath took a long time to dry my hair, so I would appreciate it if you could upgrade them to higher-quality ones when you replace them next time. Since the Facility is wonderful, it felt like a bit of a missed opportunity. I would love to stay here again when I visit Beppu. Thank you very much.

I had long wanted to visit Akazawa Guest House, and this time I was able to stay there with my son and his wife. The exterior is wonderful, but once inside, I was amazed to see platinum used throughout the walls and other details. It was a beautiful space with clear attention paid to every element. The pampas grass in the courtyard was especially memorable, and we were able to relax and enjoy a peaceful break from everyday life while feeling the charm of the season. Everything—the Room, the meals, and the atmosphere throughout the Accommodation—was of course excellent, but what stayed with me most was the warm hospitality of all the staff. My daughter-in-law is pregnant, and they kindly accommodated our requests in advance with great care. They prepared extra pillows in our Room and thoughtfully adjusted her meals as well, which we truly appreciated. In particular, the staff member who served our meals had such a lovely smile. Their service was both attentive and genuinely warm, which made us feel very at ease. The staff member who took photos for us also went beyond what we asked for, discreetly looking out for us so we could enjoy ourselves even more. Their thoughtfulness meant a lot to us. Of course it is an exceptional space with a sense of luxury, but even more than that, I felt that the detailed and heartfelt hospitality of everyone working there makes this Accommodation even more special. I am truly happy that we were able to spend such precious family time at Akazawa Guest House. On our way home, my son’s family and I said to each other, “Let’s come again.” Thank you very much for giving us such a memorable stay. We would love to visit again.

I stayed for three nights on a solo trip combining errands and sightseeing, with No Meals Included. The Room was clean, and I was satisfied with everything. I came and went frequently and may have caused inconvenience with housekeeping, but every staff member was wonderful, and I truly enjoyed my stay. Dogo Onsen Honkan and the shopping arcade were very close by, and it was also very convenient to take the streetcar. The Onsen was excellent as well—I soaked many times and felt completely relaxed. Next time, I’d love to return with meals included and stay even more leisurely.

This Accommodation exceeded my expectations. The Room layout was well designed, and I stayed very comfortably. The view is also wonderful. The sauna is spacious enough for about 4–5 people, allows temperature adjustment, and you can enjoy löyly. The cold plunge is also plenty large, and ice is provided for those who want colder water—so you can fully enjoy the sauna exactly the way you like. The in-room Onsen is spacious enough for two people. The water has a slightly silky feel and leaves your skin nicely moisturized. The amenities were excellent as well. The private lounge offers a great selection of drinks and snacks, which you can bring back to your Room—so it feels essentially all-inclusive. I had a Multiple Night Stay, and the meals did not overlap between the first and second nights, allowing me to truly enjoy local specialties. Everything was delicious. I was very satisfied with both the Facility and the food, but what impressed me most was the staff’s hospitality—from dining staff to front desk to housekeeping. Their warm attentiveness really touched me. I would love to visit again.

In the latter half of a three-day weekend, our schedule opened up, so we quickly found this place and made a Reservation. We asked to Change the Reservation from the Room we had booked to a new Japanese-modern bedroom with beds—and it was absolutely the right choice. We had a very satisfying stay. We woke up at 4:00 a.m. and watched the World Cup final on the projector’s large screen. It became my favorite Room I’ve ever stayed in. The Onsen was too hot for us as a couple. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. The staff were also excellent. They even walked us to our car on departure, and wiped down our windshield that had gotten dirty from the rain at night—truly outstanding hospitality. This is a Ryokan we would love to visit again.

I have stayed here several times on my own in the past, and my two daughters always said they wanted to visit whenever I showed them the photos. This time, I stayed here with both of them. The Room was spacious enough even with an extra bed, and even with three of us, having three mirrors meant getting ready was stress-free. Breakfast is always truly delicious. I come here when I want to spend some quiet time alone, so next time I will visit again by myself.
